Clap your palms, watch an ad: a Vietnamese palm-reading app hit 530k installs in two months, ranking mid-tier in its category

What it is An Android entertainment app where you clap your palms and AI reads your palm lines, with zodiac pairing and soulmate matching. Free, with ads.

Why it blew up TikTok had already taught the crowd that "AI can read your palm." A Vietnamese studio turned that into a one-tap app, pushed it into fortune-obsessed, cheap-traffic markets in South Asia and Turkey, and let interstitial ads pay it back as people waited for results.

CHow you could chase it Don't build another palm reader. Copy the chain: a viral ChatGPT trend on TikTok → a one-tap app → cheap-market paid installs + ad monetization. Swap in a fortune-telling niche the factories haven't crowded yet (face reading, coffee grounds, birth charts) and ship within three to four months.

Grade C: the chain is clear and the bar is low, but AI palm apps already have 20+ clones on Google Play, mostly from Vietnamese factories, and rank comes down to who spends more on installs. This app is itself a mid-tier follower, so there's no open slot to chase. Only the method is worth copying. Few people know about it yet

Palm Reading: AI Palmistry is an Android app where you photograph your palm and an AI reads your fortune. It launched Aug 28 and had 6k installs by Nov 535. It has no unique tech. It's the standard play of Vietnamese utility-app factories: catch the TikTok "have ChatGPT read your palm" wave, drop in a ready-made template, push it into India, Pakistan and Turkey where people love fortune-telling and traffic is cheap, and let ads pay it back. The problem is that two dozen others did the same this quarter, and it can't crack the top five. Below: how the business works, who's moving faster, and whether you should get in.

"How does it know I have a girlfriend"

On Sep 10, a user named Uyi Ekunwe gave it 4 stars on Google Play: "I was a bit freaked out by how accurate it was. How did it know I have a girlfriend? Maybe it was a coincidence, but still creepy." The review got 21 helpful votes and sits at the top of the store page.

The third-ranked review, by Hadi Jan on Oct 5, is just three words: "To much ads" (too many ads).

Together those two sum up the app: people come in hoping to be "read" once, and the developer earns from the ads they sit through while waiting for the result.

What it is

You point the camera at your palm, and the app reads four main lines: love, wisdom, life and career. The store page lists more: a "personality" reading for each of the five fingers, a "destiny card" with scores for love, career and wealth, compatibility between two zodiac signs, a "soulmate match" based on birthdays, daily horoscopes, lucky colors and lucky numbers. The bottom line of the page reads: results are for entertainment only (Google Play store page, 11-06).

The developer is Lutech Studio, which also publishes 9 other utility apps: animated wallpapers, font keyboards, emoji battery widgets, AR tracing. One animated wallpaper has over 1,500 million installs. The name and product line match Lutech Digital in Da Nang, Vietnam, but there's no direct evidence they're the same company (inference).

Money comes from two sources. The store page lists "contains ads" and "in-app purchases" at $3.99–$14.99 each. Its ad config file wires in five ad networks: AdMob, Meta, Pangle, Unity and AppLovin. A third-party estimate puts its October in-app purchase revenue under $5,000 (AppGazers estimate). So most of the money comes from ads, with IAP as a minor piece.

Over 50 million installs in just over two months, about 7 thousand a day. Not bad for a template app. But look at the ratings line.

How the 17k ratings came about

Its rating count is 3.3% of its install count. Comparable apps in the category sit at 0.02%–0.4%. HoangSi Palm, with 13.7M installs, has only 2,709 ratings. Kienmaly, with 2.89M installs, has only 1,282 (Google Play, 11-06).

The answer is in a review written in transliterated Urdu: "abi mana app kholi b nai rating phla mamg li" (I hadn't even opened the app before it asked me to rate it) (10-10). In other words, the rating prompt pops up on launch. The result is over 17,000 star ratings averaging just over 4 stars, most with no text. In search results, next to rivals that have a few hundred ratings at 2.5 stars, it looks more trustworthy, so more people tap through.

This is a standard move among Vietnamese utility apps. It isn't cheating, but it does mean you shouldn't estimate their user base from the rating count.

Where users come from

First, TikTok trained the demand. "Have ChatGPT read your palm" isn't new. In November 2024 a how-to video hit 1.44M views. In February 2026 @marissaemartinez posted "Palm reading is this easy?" and it reached 900k. By 10 the wave was still going and had reached Hindi: a November 1 Hindi video, "What's hidden in your palm lines?", got 116k views (checked on TikTok, 11-06). People already knew that snapping your palm could get an AI to tell your fortune. They just didn't know how to write the prompt. The app hides the prompt behind one tap.

Second, store search. The name "Palm Reading: AI Palmistry" packs in the two biggest search terms, and the description repeats palm reader, horoscope, zodiac and soulmate over and over.

It's most likely still buying installs (inference). It gets 7 thousand installs a day, concentrated in markets like India, Pakistan, Turkey and Nigeria where each install costs a few cents. Most reviews are "good" or "nice," which doesn't read like people who searched for it on their own. It doesn't show up in the few public ad libraries I checked, but those libraries cover Android utility apps poorly, so absence there doesn't mean it isn't advertised.

Who the users are, the reviews make clear: plenty of transliterated Hindi and Urdu. "mari sadi kab hogi" (when will I get married?), "hath ki rekha" (the lines on my hand). There's also Turkish: "falım çıksın" (tell my fortune). People in India and Pakistan ask about marriage, and in Turkey, el falı (palm reading) and kahve falı (coffee-ground reading) are everyday pastimes. Big user base, cheap traffic, one ad per result: the math works.

Seven or eight more launched in mid-to-late October, each with a few thousand to 30k installs. The older ones are still around: Life Palmistry (2020, 23M installs), Palmee (2016, 12.7M). Turkish local apps Faladdin (25.9M) and Kismet (15.6M) turned tarot and coffee reading into subscription businesses. India's Astrotalk (115M) sells live calls with real astrologers billed by the minute.

Kienmaly is the one to watch: launched in October 12, it hit 1.57M installs in a week, thirty times this app's pace, and it also shipped a reskinned sibling. Same features, same markets. Only ad spend decides who moves faster.

What's different about it

Almost none. Palm scan plus four lines, zodiac matching and soulmate matching are the standard menu for this batch. The only visible differences: more ratings (from the launch prompt, not the product), and a somewhat broader feature set (finger readings, destiny card). Over two months the app went from version 2.0 to 7.0, and every page it added is one more chance to show an ad.

If it were you

C: you can learn the chain, but don't enter this category. AI palm reading on Google Play is already packed with 20+ Vietnamese factory apps, and whoever spends more on installs wins the ranking. If you copy this, the best outcome is becoming the ninth row on that list.

Good fit for: small teams that already have a utility-app template, ad mediation and low-cost install-buying experience. Not to build palm reading, but to learn the chain and then move to an untouched fortune-telling niche.

Bad fit for: anyone who hopes to win on product experience (users want that "you got read" moment, and accuracy can't really be compared); anyone who hasn't run UAC or Meta install campaigns; anyone aiming at subscriptions in Europe or the US (that's home turf for older players like Life Palmistry and Faladdin, and ChatGPT already reads palms for free).

How to do it: watch for ChatGPT trends that are already viral on TikTok, then pick a traditional fortune-telling style the factories haven't crowded: face reading, Turkish coffee grounds, Indian birth charts and Chinese BaZi are all candidates. Search Google Play for same-named apps released in 2026, and only start if there are fewer than five. Put two core search terms in the name. One photo, one result, with the result page unlocked in stages, each stage gated behind a rewarded video. Localize the UI into Hindi, Urdu and Turkish, not just the store listing.

How to get users: Google Play search as the base, plus low-cost install ads in India, Pakistan, Turkey and Nigeria. On TikTok, find local small accounts making "ChatGPT palm reading / face reading" tutorials and partner with them, selling "no prompt writing needed" as the hook.

How long you have: this kind of hotspot went from TikTok to the store and got filled by factories in roughly half a year. For another niche, you have three to four months. Launch before spring 2027.

Signs you've misjudged it: ① within 30 days of your pick, three or more Vietnamese factory apps with the same name show up on Play; ② later entrants like Kienmaly keep widening the gap, and this app and mid-tier rivals fall to a daily gain of one or two thousand, meaning only the big spenders can still make money; ③ the reverse: a new same-category app that doesn't buy installs and reaches 500k in 30 days on organic TikTok videos alone. That means there's still a path that doesn't depend on ad budget, and the category is looser than it looks.

Data and sources: Google Play store pages and category charts (10-29 to 11-06), public reviews on the store page; app-ads.txt on the developer's site; AppGazers revenue and download estimates; TikTok search for "chatgpt palm reading" (11-06). Where users come from
  • Inferred category trend + store search ASO: on TikTok, "ChatGPT palm reading" has 2026 videos from the past year, with 900K to 1.34M views each. This app's name covers both Palm Reading and AI Palmistry, and its description is packed with palm reader, horoscope, and soulmate keywords. It only charts in the Lifestyle category.
  • Inference Paid install buys (low-CPI markets): roughly 7 thousand installs a day, concentrated in India, Pakistan, Turkey and Nigeria; reviews are mostly low-information lines like "good." But metaads, googleads and tiktokads all show no record of Lutech or this package name.
  • Verified Rating prompt on launch: ratings / installs = 3.3%, while peers sit at 0.02%–0.4%; a user review says the app asked for a rating before it had even been opened (2026-10-10)
  • Inference Cross-promotion across own apps: the same account publishes 9 apps, including Funny Smile Live Wallpaper (15.2M installs) and Font Keyboard (7.18M); both use the same ad mediation stack (AdMob, Meta, Pangle, Unity, AppLovin)

Palm Reading: AI Palmistry (com.spirituality.palmistry): why it's charting

Bottom line

There's no secret sauce. It's the trend-chasing playbook of Vietnam's utility-app factories: in 2026, "palm reading with AI" went from a ChatGPT trick on TikTok to a new category on Google Play. Lutech used a ready-made utility-app template (ad mediation via AdMob/AppLovin/Pangle, plus $3.99–$14.99 in-app purchases), shipped a palm app in late August, and targeted India, Pakistan and Turkey, where paid installs are cheap and fortune-telling is part of everyday culture. Ads pay it back. Within the category it isn't even the leader: a dozen-plus Vietnamese rivals launched the same thing in the same period, and several have several to dozens of times its installs.

1. Data (googleplay library, 2026-10-29 to 11-06)

  • First published 2026-08-28 (store value; earliest review 2026-09-08, version 2.0, which suggests it really is a new app and the listing date wasn't reset. Reviews were pulled locally with google-play-scraper: the latest 672 en/in reviews).
  • Lifetime global installs 534,935 (11-06), +50,475 over 7 days, about 7k a day. Play's install counts jump every 2–3 days (10-31 +22,647, 11-03 +20,019).
  • Rating 17,649,4.15 stars, adding 50–160 ratings a day, but only 13 reviews have text. Ratings / installs = 3.3%, versus 0.02%–0.4% for other apps in the category (HoangSi: 13.7M installs with only 2,709 ratings; Kienmaly: 2.89M installs with only 1,282). The reviews explain it: "abi mana app kholi b nai rating phla mamg li" ("rate the app before you've even opened it", 10-10). It's a rating prompt that fires on launch, inflating star counts, so you can't back out downloads from the rating count.
  • Charts: only the LIFESTYLE free category. Turkey 33→14, Taiwan 88→24→53, India 121–193, Nigeria 159–178; UAE, Saudi Arabia, the Netherlands and Germany only briefly (chart_rank). It has never charted in any grossing chart.
  • Revenue: the app has ads (the Play page says "Contains ads") and $3.99–$14.99 in-app purchases. AppGazers estimates October in-app revenue under $5K and 56k–263k downloads (AppGazers). The developer site's app-ads.txt lists AdMob (2 pubs), Meta Audience Network (3), Pangle, Unity and AppLovin (https://klukaskplay.dev/app-ads.txt). The money mostly comes from ads.
  • Where the users are: the latest reviews are heavy on Hindi and Urdu transliteration ("mari sadi kab hogi", asking when they'll get married; "hath ki Rekha", palm lines) and Turkish ("he halim çıksın falim"). The core audience is mass users in India, Pakistan and Turkey who treat it as fortune-telling.

2. Competitors: a "AI palm reading" category that only appeared in the last 2026 years, crowded with Vietnamese factory apps

Searching the Google Play library for "palm/palmistry" turns up more than 2026 apps listed in 20:

Big-tech feature: ChatGPT and other multimodal models read your palm from a photo. TikTok "ChatGPT palm reading" tutorials have 900k views (@marissaemartinez, 2026-02) and 1.34M views in Japan (@haru_ai.tiktok33,2026-05). Free AI palm-reading web pages exist too, such as creen.ai and overchat.

Verdict: lots of competition. In the newly launched batch it ranks mid-table, with less than Kienmaly's 1/30 in 7 days of growth.

3. Growth tactics

  • Category trend + app store search (inferred): in 2026, ChatGPT palm reading took off on TikTok and Instagram, lifting search demand for "palm reading / el falı". A dozen-plus Vietnamese factories piled into the term on Play from 5 to October. The name "Palm Reading: AI Palmistry" packs in both core search terms, and the description stacks palm reader, horoscope, zodiac and soulmate, the classic ASO pattern. Appfigures shows it sitting next to VN Atomax and Radiant Retail's similar apps on the Nepal Lifestyle chart (from a search-result summary, not opened and verified).
  • Paid acquisition (inferred, no ad evidence obtained): roughly 7k a day, mainly in low-CPI markets like India, Pakistan, Turkey and Nigeria. Most reviews are just "good" or "nice", which doesn't look like organic search traffic. This matches the Vietnamese utility-app model of buying cheap installs and recovering costs with interstitial and rewarded video. But the metaads, googleads and tiktokads libraries have neither Lutech Studio nor this package name (googleads only tracks a set list of products, so no hit doesn't mean no spend).
  • Rating prompt on launch (confirmed): user reviews say they're asked to rate before opening the app. That pushed the rating count to 17.6k at 4.1 stars, which stands out in store search results against peers (mostly a few hundred to two thousand ratings, 2.4–3.5 stars) and lifts conversion.
  • Cross-promotion across its own apps (possible): the same account also publishes Funny Smile Live Wallpaper (15.2M installs), Font Keyboard (7.18M), Emoji Battery, AI Coin Identifier, AR Drawing and 9 other apps on the same ad mediation stack, so cross-promo is feasible. Not verified.
  • No creator, press, Reddit or X discussion found (x-radar searched "palm reading app" and returned 0 posts over the last 30 days; TikTok search showed no promo videos for it).

4. Why it took off

  1. AI hype educated the demand first: in the first half of 2026, "make ChatGPT read your palm" videos on TikTok hit hundreds of thousands to millions of views. People already knew you could have AI tell your fortune from a palm photo. The factory repackaged it as an app that needs no prompt writing, just a tap and a scan.
  2. Right market picks: India, Pakistan (palm reading and marriage questions) and Turkey (el falı and kahve falı are everyday entertainment) already have fortune-telling habits. Large user bases and cheap installs mean ads can cover the cost.
  3. Factory template + fast iteration: over 2 months it went from v2.0 to v7.0, expanding from palm scanning to finger reading, destiny cards, zodiac matching and soulmate pages, all screens that earn an ad impression.
  4. Rating prompt drives store conversion: its rating count is 10 to 100 times its peers', at 4.1 stars, which wins it more visibility in search results.

5. Differentiation

Almost no product differentiation: palm scanning plus four main reading tracks, zodiac and pairing is the standard feature set for this batch of apps. The visible differences are two: its rating count far exceeds peers' (driven by the launch prompt, not the product), and its feature set is more complete (finger reading, Destiny Card). It gets traction from category heat and the factory's distribution and monetization playbook, not from differentiation. And it isn't the strongest in the category. It just happened to have visible chart positions and rating growth when we pulled the data.

6. Visibility

Still little known: no press coverage, no founder posting revenue, no X discussion. But the category itself is already crowded (20+ apps with the same name, mostly from Vietnamese factories), so there's no information edge for latecomers.

7. What to borrow

  • The chain "TikTok ChatGPT trick → one-tap app → push into fortune-telling-culture, low-CPI countries → ad monetization" is reusable. The next thing to watch is a "AI + traditional divination" niche the factories haven't filled yet, such as physiognomy, coffee-grounds reading or BaZi.
  • Two search terms crammed into the name, a rating prompt on launch and an ad mediation stack with 5 networks are all standard parts of Vietnamese utility apps.

8. Still unclear

  • Whether it buys installs, how much, and through which channels: none of the three ad libraries covers it.
  • Whether "Lutech Studio" is the same company as Lutech Digital in Da Nang (lutech.vn, 51–200 people on LinkedIn) or Lutech Ltd (AR Drawing, 10M+): only the name and product line match.
  • One Sensor Tower search summary puts it at #10 on the 2025-11-27 Pakistan Lifestyle chart, next to 2026-08-28, but the launch date and earliest review (2026-09-08) don't match. Likely a timing mismatch in the scraped page, so we didn't use it.
  • Ad revenue is unknown. Going by AppGazers' estimate, in-app revenue is very small.
  • iOS wasn't checked (the iTunes search endpoint returned nothing at the time).
