90,000 installs in two days, then nothing: Blood Pressure Studio was one paid campaign, not a hit product
What it is An Android health log app with ads. You enter your own blood pressure, blood sugar, sleep, and BMI, then view history and trend charts. It can't take measurements and has no AI.
Why it took off It never really took off. The tool matrix team focused paid acquisition in cheap markets like Turkey, Ukraine, and Armenia in early October, pushing about 170k installs over two rounds of two days each. That got it onto small-country health charts, and after the spend stopped, there was little organic traffic left.
DHow to get in Don't copy the manual-logging setup; if you really want to enter the health-records space, build the part it's missing: connect Bluetooth blood pressure monitors, sync with Health Connect, export reports for doctors, or focus on a specific group like pregnancy, dialysis, or tracking health for aging parents.

Blood Pressure Studio is a Google Play app for manually logging blood pressure and blood sugar. Less than three months after launch it reached 300k installs and appeared on health charts in Turkey, Ukraine, and Armenia. Breaking it down, six in ten of those 300k came from two early-October rounds of concentrated spending, two days each. When spending stopped, daily installs fell from tens of thousands to a few hundred. The product is identical to dozens of similar ones on Play, and behind it is an ad-monetized tool matrix. It's worth studying as a sample of the matrix playbook, but not worth following.
Those two days in Oct 4
Since its launch on Aug 13, 2026 this app stayed quiet for three weeks: 458 installs in total through Sep 4. Mid-September it started adding over a thousand a day, and by late September that was up to four to eight thousand a day. Then came Oct 4 and 5, when cumulative installs jumped from 73k to 163k over two days, about 90k more. On 6 and 7 they barely moved. Then on 8 and 9 it added about 79k over two days (historical installs from a third-party estimate, spread evenly across observation points).
By Oct 13 the total was 274k, and for the next week it only gained a hundred or two a day. By Nov 6 Play showed 303k, with +7 over the last 15,835 days, and the gains came in jumps every few days: on 10-31 +8,332,11-03 +5,706 in one day, with the days in between at 0 (Google Play daily figures, 10-29 to 11-06).
On, off, on again, off again. Word-of-mouth growth doesn't look like this. This is the shape of a budget.
What it is
When you open the app, you enter your own systolic and diastolic pressure and the measurement time, and it stores them as history and draws trend charts. It can also log blood sugar (with measurement time and notes), sleep, and BMI. The opening line of the store listing says "Stop recording readings in notebooks or scattered across screenshots," and it states clearly that it is not a medical device. It can't take measurements and has no AI features, even though the package name says "aibps."
Contains ads, no in-app purchases. Store rating 5.0, 104 reviews (Google Play, 11-06).
Who's behind it
The developer name on Play is Emily Yu. The same account has PDF scanner, Bible, translation, and browser apps. The PDF Viewer & Scanner alone has 30.6M installs and ranks #1 on Turkey's Tools Top Free chart (Google Play, 11-06). Third-party APK sites credit the scanner to "by Broad Wang," and the developer contact email is also tied to Facebook pages for "Pearl Weather" and "QR Scanner Plus." One email, several names, a line of utility apps.
Opening the official site bloodpressurestudio.com shows the default Apache test page, and only the privacy policy page is accessible (11-06). The ad SDKs listed in the privacy policy are AdMob, Meta Audience Network, and Pangle, plus TopOn for mediation. TopOn with Pangle is a very common combination for Chinese teams doing overseas tool apps, so the team is most likely Chinese (inference).
Where users come from
Paid acquisition, almost certain. The evidence comes in three layers. First, the install curve that jumps every two days, shown above. Second, a newly created "Blood Pressure Studio" Facebook Page with a product video that has 11k views and 36 reactions. A new page getting that many views on a product video strongly suggests ad creatives are running (inference). Third, the SDKs include Meta's ad network. I couldn't verify how much it spent on Meta and Google or which countries it targeted.
Spent in small countries. It only appeared on the Top Free chart in the Health category. In Turkey it fell from #89 on 10-29 to #199 on 11-06, it reached #192 in Canada, and #148 in Taiwan (Google Play category charts). Third-party chart sites show #5 on the Armenia Health Top Free chart and #2 on the Ukraine Health chart (Appfigures, AppFollow; dates not individually verified). In these markets, users are cheap to acquire and the category chart bar is low, so one round of spending can produce a "#2 on the Health chart" result.
Almost zero other channels. Search its name on TikTok and you get blood pressure monitor sellers; no one on X has mentioned it in 60 days; no press coverage, no Reddit threads. The indie's PDF scanner, with 30M installs, could plausibly funnel users over, but we saw no direct evidence.
Another number shows very little real user accumulation: 300k installs, 103 ratings, and all 103 of them are 5-star, a rating rate of about 0.03%. The same-niche HealthTracker Apps has 29.5M installs and 53k ratings, more than an order of magnitude higher. All 5-star with so few ratings most likely means seeded reviews, or a rating prompt that only asks happy users (inference). We couldn't find a single written user review.
Where the money comes from
Ads only: app open, interstitial, native, with several networks bidding via TopOn (inference). Health log users skew older and come back daily to log, so ad impressions stay steady, which is why this category is crowded with dozens of copycats. But ad prices in markets like Turkey and Ukraine are low; when paid spend stopped the installs fell off a cliff and it has only been kept alive on small budgets since, which suggests the payback was not good enough to justify scaling (inference). No public revenue figures.
Who it's competing with
More than 80 Play apps have names containing blood pressure, blood sugar or health tracker, many launched within the last 2026 year (Google Play, 11-06). A few examples:
| Product | Scale | How it differs |
|---|---|---|
| Blood Pressure Tracker(QR Code Scanner.) | 97.3M installs, 406k ratings, charted in 30 countries | Same toolkit-matrix origin, same features, 300× the scale |
| Blood Sugar Care: BP Monitor(PRK APPS) | 25.4M installs, +7k in the last 68 days, #14 on the US Health Top Free chart | Launched the same month (8-19), this is the one that actually ran in the same period |
| Health Tracker: BP Monitor(HealthTracker Apps) | Lead app 29.5M installs, 70M+ across three apps combined | Same playbook, already scaled up |
| PulseSense(80UGame) | 11.2M installs, #1 on the South Africa Health Top Free chart | Positioning around "measuring" heart rate and blood pressure grabs attention better than manual logging |
| Blood Pressure Plan(GUANGSHENG) | 1.45M installs, +7k in the last 129 days, charted in 25 countries | Also pushing on the Ukraine Health chart, across far more countries |
| Blood Pressure Easy(Finflow Studios) | Not verified | Sits right next to it on the Armenia Health chart |
| Established tools like SmartBP and MedM | Hundreds of thousands to 13M | Connects to Bluetooth BP monitors and exports reports for doctors; has real reviews |
| Samsung Health, Google Health Connect | Preinstalled on phones | Built-in blood pressure and blood sugar logging on the OS |
On this table, Blood Pressure Studio ranks well outside the top 50. It is itself a follower.
What you can learn
Not a product, a playbook:
- How the matrix incubates new products: one email, a few developer names, each app paired with a domain that only hosts a privacy policy, one shared ad mediation stack; new products are tested using cash flow and paid-acquisition know-how from older apps.
- Push cadence: stay quiet for a few weeks after launch, test with small volume, then push installs past the "100k+" tier with two concentrated paid bursts (the displayed download tier affects later users' conversion), then stop spending and watch organic retention.
- Market choice: pick small countries with cheap paid acquisition and low category-chart thresholds to quickly earn respectable chart positions.
It executes this playbook very cleanly, and the result is equally clean: it got pushed up, and it didn't hold.
If it were you
One-line verdict: worth knowing about, not worth copying. This isn't a product that ran on its own; it's a trace of paid acquisition. The niche already has dozens of identical competitors, with leaders dozens to hundreds of times larger.
Who it's for: teams already running an overseas ad-monetized tool matrix can treat it as a control sample and see what retention looks like after "two bursts past the 100k tier."
Who it's not for: indie devs who want a product that grows on its own; people without paid-acquisition budget or monetization experience; anyone hoping to ride the "one more blood pressure log" wave. That wave has already been divided up.
How to do it: if you insist on entering health tracking, don't make a clone of manual logging. The openings are in what it hasn't built: Bluetooth BP monitor support, automatic Health Connect sync, one-tap reports for doctors, or a specific group (pregnancy blood pressure, dialysis patients, adult children tracking for parents). That is why older products like SmartBP and MedM keep their users.
How to get users: template clones can only grow through paid acquisition, competing with dozens of others for the same cheap traffic. Products with real differentiation can grow through word of mouth among doctors, patient groups and caregiver communities, plus long-tail store searches like "export report" and "BP monitor sync."
When the window was: there is no window; the crowding in this niche won't change in the short term.
What would prove this read wrong: if over the next month or two it grows steadily day over day without obvious paid spikes, or starts charting on major US and European health charts, that would mean it really retained users and is worth another look.

One line
Blood Pressure Studio is a manual health log for blood pressure, blood sugar, sleep and BMI, with ads and no in-app purchases. The developer is credited as "Emily Yu" on Play. It is a new product from an ad-monetized tool matrix; the same developer has PDF scanner, Bible, translation and browser apps, and the five in the library total about 33.9M installs. It never actually took off: the 300k installs came almost entirely from two or three concentrated paid bursts in early October, after which daily installs fell to a few hundred to two thousand; the product is no different from dozens of similar competitors in the niche; 5.0 stars from 103 ratings against 300k installs also looks more like manufactured or filtered reviews. The high score on the data card reflects matrix paid acquisition being read as organic growth.
1. Who they are
- Developer: Play credits Emily Yu (developer_id 4919580106675472795), contact email [email protected]; the BlueStacks page lists the same developer's PDF scanner as "by Broad Wang" [googleplay library app table; bluestacks.com]. The same email also appears on Facebook pages "Pearl Weather" and "QR Scanner Plus" [Jina search], indicating one group behind these apps under multiple personas.
- The homepage of bloodpressurestudio.com is the default Apache test page; only privacy.html loads [Jina read 2026-11-06]. In other words, the website exists only to satisfy store listing requirements.
- SDKs listed in the privacy policy: Google AdMob, Meta Audience Network, Pangle, TopOn Mediation [bloodpressurestudio.com/privacy.html]. TopOn plus Pangle is the typical ad-mediation stack of Chinese overseas tool teams, so it is likely a Chinese team (unverified).
- Product: manually enter systolic and diastolic pressure and time, log blood sugar and notes, view historical trend charts, plus sleep and BMI records. It states it is "not a medical device." No measurement feature, no AI features. The package name contains "aibps", but the description makes no AI claims [Play listing].
- Store status: v1.3.0, last updated 2026-10-10; contains ads; no in-app purchases; released 2026-08-13 [googleplay library app_snap 2026-11-06].
2. Growth data
History backfilled from AppstoreSpy (googleplay library app_day_ext, spread evenly between observations), plus our own daily collection:
| Period | Total installs | Daily gain (approx.) |
|---|---|---|
| 08-13 launch ~ 09-04 | 458 | Almost zero |
| 09-08 ~ 09-20 | 1,254 → 19,298 | About 1,500/day |
| 09-24 ~ 10-03 | 38,852 → 73,251 | About 4,000–8,700/day |
| 10-04 ~ 10-05 | 73,251 → 162,863 | ~90k in two days |
| 10-08 ~ 10-09 | 163,636 → 242,250 | ~79k in two days |
| 10-13 | 274,396 | About 10k |
| 10-14 ~ 10-18 | 275,318 | About 100–200/day |
| 10-20 ~ 11-06 | 279,251 → 303,186 | About 1,000–2,000/day |
- About 60% of installs (~180k) landed in the ten days from 10-04 to 10-13, in two two-day spikes with almost nothing in 10-06 and 10-07 between them. That's on-off budget buying, not word of mouth. After 10-14 it fell off a cliff, which means the buying stopped and organic traffic is tiny.
- Last 7 days +15,835 (data card, googleplay library 2026-11-06), roughly a thousand or two a day. Looks like a small budget keeping it alive.
- Chart [googleplay library chart_rank]: only ever charted in category free charts. Turkey Health free chart went from 89 (10-29) down to 199 (11-06); Canada 192/199 (10-29, 10-30); Taiwan 148 (10-31). Storefronts we don't cover: Appfigures shows it at #5 in Armenia's Health free chart, AppFollow shows #2 in Ukraine's Health chart, and Similarweb has a Ukraine page [Jina search snippet, dates not checked page by page]. The buying looks concentrated in low-CPI markets like Turkey, Ukraine and Armenia.
- Ratings: 103 total, all 5 stars, histogram is [0,0,0,0,103]; against 300k installs, that's a rating rate of about 0.03%. Normal products in the same niche run one to two orders of magnitude higher, e.g. HealthTracker Apps has 29.5M installs and 53k ratings [Google Play library]. All 5 stars on such a small count most likely means seeded reviews or an in-app rating prompt filtered for happy users (unverified).
3. Where users come from
- Paid acquisition: strong inference, partly confirmed.
- The curve is two two-day spikes and a cliff, see the table above.
- Confirmed part: there's a Facebook page called "Blood Pressure Studio" (page id 61593834269172; numbers like this are newly created pages), with a video of the same name at 11k views and 36 reactions [facebook.com/61593834269172/videos/…, read via Jina]. A new page getting that many views on a product video is basically a trace of ad creative.
- Our metaads library doesn't track this page, nor the developer's other apps (not found in app_link). Spend size and countries can't be verified directly.
- The app is only on Play, and it's likely also running Google UAC, unverified.
- Cross-promotion within the portfolio: possible, unverified. The same developer's PDF Viewer & Scanner has 30.6M installs, +7k in the last 59 days, and charts #1 in Turkey's Tools free chart [googleplay library 2026-11-06]. Ad-heavy high-traffic utility apps often push their new products, but there's no direct evidence.
- Store search / ASO: a small contributor. The name is the generic "Blood Pressure", with dozens of same-name and near-name products around it. Few ratings, so ranking high in search is hard.
- Content and creators: none. A TikTok search for "blood pressure studio" only turns up blood pressure monitor hardware sellers (uk.products07, story.copy06, homecarego), unrelated to this app; x-radar shows 60 posts in the last 0 days; no press coverage, no Reddit discussion.
4. Competitors (googleplay library 2026-11-06, representative ones only)
This niche is one of the most crowded "ad utility" categories on Play. The library has 80+ apps with blood pressure / blood sugar / health tracker in the name alone, many launched within the last 2026 years.
| Competitors | Channel | Launched | Scale | How it differs from Blood Pressure Studio |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Blood Pressure Tracker(QR Code Scanner.) | Android | 2021-11 | 97.3M installs, 406k ratings, charted in 30 stores | Niche leader, also from a tool portfolio, same features, 300x the scale |
| Blood Sugar Care: BP Monitor(PRK APPS LLP) | Android | 2026-08-19 | 25.4M installs, +7k in the last 68 days, #14 on the US Health Top Free chart | Launched the same month, a true contemporaneous hit; 80 times bigger in scale |
| Health Tracker: BP Monitor App(HealthTracker Apps) | Android | 2023-06 | 29.5M installs, +7k in the last 158 days | A matrix in the same category, three apps combined over 70M |
| Blood Pressure / Blood Pressure App(P & L Studio) | Android | 2022–2023 | Two apps combined about 65.7M | Same as above |
| PulseSense – Health Tracker(80UGame) | Android | 2025-08 | 11.2M installs, #1 on the South Africa Health Top Free chart | Pitches "measure" (camera-based heart rate, blood pressure, etc.), which catches the eye more than manual logging |
| BP Tracker Home(UtooTime) | Android | 2026-04 | 1.64M installs, #1 on Hong Kong's Health free chart | Younger peer of the same type, also buying ads |
| Blood Pressure Plan(GUANGSHENG LLC) | Android | 2025-03 | 1.45M, +7k in the last 129 days, charted in 25 stores | Also near the top of Ukraine's Health chart |
| Blood Pressure Easy(Finflow Studios) | Android | Not verified | Not verified | Sitting right next to it on Armenia's Health chart (Appfigures), suggesting several players are chasing the same small-country charts at once |
| Blood Pressure (Klimaszewski Szymon), SmartBP, AVAX, MedM | Android / iOS | 2012–2018 | Hundreds of thousands to 13M | An established real logging tool, with Bluetooth BP monitor sync and PDF export for doctors, and genuine reviews |
| Samsung Health, Google Health Connect, Apple Health | Big-company features | Already there | Preinstalled on phones | The system's built-in BP and blood sugar logging, which also syncs with devices |
Takeaway: the question isn't whether competitors exist, it's that the same template has already been copied in bulk by dozens of matrix publishers. Blood Pressure Studio ranks around #50 among them.
5. Differentiation
Almost none. Its features (manual BP logging + blood sugar + trend charts + sleep / BMI) are nearly identical to most of the ad-driven competitors above. It also doesn't use the eye-catching lines common among peers, like "measure BP with your finger" or "AI analysis"; the "aibps" in the package name doesn't map to any feature. Its difference is only in the playbook: pick small countries with low CPI, use one or two concentrated buying rounds to push installs into the 100k+ tier. That isn't why it worked, because it didn't really work.
6. Where the money comes from
No in-app purchases, ads only. AdMob, Meta AN and Pangle bid through TopOn mediation, usually app open, interstitial and native ads, unverified. Health users skew older and reopen the app to log data repeatedly, so ad eCPM is not bad for a utility category, which is why this niche is packed with dozens of matrix publishers. Markets like Turkey, Ukraine and Armenia have very low CPI and very low eCPM too. The cliff in installs after buying stopped suggests the payback at the time wasn't good enough to justify sustained scaling; a thousand or two a day now looks like a small-budget ROI test. This paragraph is inference, unverified.
7. Visibility
Hardly anyone knows about it yet. No public revenue, no press or X accounts have written about it; it only appears in Appfigures and AppFollow small-country category charts and in the auto-generated pages of a few APK sites. But the "blood pressure logging + ad monetization" playbook itself is already saturated (see competitor table), so there's no real opportunity window to speak of.
8. What others can learn
- A complete sample of the matrix playbook: one email, multiple developer personas, a privacy-policy-only domain for each app, monetization through TopOn + Pangle + AdMob + Meta AN mediation; using the experience and cash flow from an older app (PDF scanner with 30M installs) to incubate new products.
- Buying rhythm: after launch it stayed quiet for 3 weeks, a small test in September (~1,500 a day), then two concentrated buying rounds in early October that pushed installs past the 100k tier (the store shows "100K+", which boosts conversion), then buying stopped to watch organic retention.
- Targeting Ukraine, Armenia and Turkey, which are low-CPI markets with low category-chart thresholds, makes it easy to produce eye-catching rankings like "#2 / #5 in Health".
9. Still unclear
- Actual acquisition channels and spend: Meta Ad Library didn't capture it, only the Facebook page video; Google UAC can't be verified.
- How much of the two early-October spikes is real users versus incentivized / offerwall traffic; the rating rate is only 0.03%, so incentivized traffic is quite possible.
- How much ad revenue it brings in, and whether the ROI is positive.
- Whether the Facebook pages in the matrix (Pearl Weather, QR Scanner Plus) map to apps under this same developer account, or to other accounts.
