The 4th AI image app to launch: 160k installs came from a Pakistani studio's paid acquisition cadence

What it is A template-based AI text-to-image and image-to-video Android app with ads, selling credit packs at $0.39–17.99. It's from a Pakistani studio that makes QR scanner and video downloader utility apps.

Why it blew up It didn't really blow up: the install curve is a square wave switched on and off by day, and it stopped in sync with another new app from the same studio, indicating centrally scheduled cheap-region paid acquisition (Nigeria is the best market), plus traffic from an older app with nearly 20 million installs. The first three generations all disappeared from Play.

DHow you could follow it Don't copy it. If you want to borrow anything, take only two moves: test country-level payback with day-by-day on/off budgets, and retitle the listing with trending keywords when you add a feature. These only help if you already run an app matrix.

Grade D: the product is indistinguishable from dozens of peers, its scale is about one percent of the leaders, and negative reviews focus on not working and too many ads. What got it going was an older app matrix that followers don't have, plus repeatedly switching accounts and republishing. Policy risk is high and the ceiling is low. Hardly anyone knows about it

An app on Google Play called Ai Image To Video Generator, listed in Sep 17, reached 163k installs in seven weeks and added 64k in the last 7 days. The product itself is identical to dozens of peers on Play. It is actually the 4th relisting of the same "AI Imagerator" under a new package name and developer account. This piece covers who is behind it, where the installs come from, and whether you can replicate it.

The most-liked review

In Oct 13, a user named Hendrik Steyn left a comment on the store page: "Don't do what I want to do. It makes it difficult to make AI videos." By Nov, 6,97 people had marked it helpful, making it the most-liked review of the app. The second most-liked, from Oct 9, says: "Doesn't work, a lot of ads, full of fail msg, avoid." It has 45 likes. The third reads "the must beutyfull app" with 89 likes. Looking at the spelling and like counts together, it looks like they were bought (inferred).

The negative reviews are honest, yet installs kept climbing: Oct 29 99,164, Nov 6 162,720 (Google Play, 11-06). The store rating is 4.2 to 4.3 stars, from about 670 reviews. Users don't like it, and that doesn't stop it from growing, because its growth never depended on users liking it.

What it is

A template-based AI image app. You type or speak a prompt, pick a style (anime, 3D, Disney, sci-fi, oil painting), generate an image, and it comes with crop filters. The Oct 20 version added "Image to Video" and changed the title from "Text to Image" to "Image To Video Generator," matching the hottest search terms on Play this year. The description reads verbatim "Meet AI Imagerator, a powerful AI image generator app…", stacking the keywords "AI image generator," "text to image," "AI art generator," and "3D image maker" over and over.

Free to download, with ads. In-app purchases are credit packs at $0.39 to $17.99 each. It has no proprietary model and no official website; the "website" is a blogspot (imagerator4.blogspot.com), and the support email is Gmail. The Data safety section says photos, videos, and device IDs are shared with third parties.

Who made it: a utility app studio in Islamabad

The store page lists the developer as Paras AI Apps, and "About the developer" says PARAS TECHNOLOGIES, with an address at F-6/1, Islamabad, Pakistan. But the first line of the privacy policy reads "TechInforTainment built the 'AI Image to Video Generator' app," and the package prefix com.tie. is short for TechInforTainment.

Following the Gmail support address, the same email is tied to three developer accounts on Play (TechInforTainment, G.K. Apps Studio, Paras AI Apps) and eight apps with roughly 19.4M installs combined (Google Play, 11-06):

Ai Image To Video Generator2026-09-17163k+64k

QR scanning, video downloading, clap-to-find-phone, prank calls, anti-theft alarms, and hidden photo vaults: this is a standard South Asian utility app studio. AI image generation is just a new category they've stuffed into the same template.

The same app, listed for the fourth time

The name "AI Imagerator" has appeared on Play four times:

GenBundle IDLaunchedResult
1com.ai.artgenerator.imagegenerator2024-09Third-party sites logged about 470k installs. Later the title changed to a "18+" version, and it now opens as 404
2com.ai.imagerator2026-0641 days, 5,200 installs; delisted in Jul 21
3com.techinfortainment.imagerator2026-08500+ installs; now 404
4com.tie.imagerator2026-09-17Moved to a new account, Paras AI Apps, 163k and still climbing

Generations 2, 3, 4 had word-for-word identical descriptions (AppBrain, apkcombo, apppage.net and other third-party sites plus the Play page, 11-06). The first generation went from charted to "18+" and then disappeared, most likely because it broke Play's policy on AI-generated or sexual content (inferred, the takedown reason is unverified). Two later launches on the old account went nowhere; it only took off after switching to a new account.

Where the installs come from: an on-off square wave

Plotting daily installs shows an odd shape: several days above ten thousand, then one or two days near zero, then another wave (third-party estimates plus Play observations):

PeriodDaily new installs (approx.)
10-01 to 10-051,200
10-10, 10-1112
10-1211,000
10-1338
10-2116,000
10-28, 10-2920
11-01 to 11-0315,000
11-04 to 11-063,400

Organic growth and influencer promotion don't look like this. This is the shape of budgets switched on and off by day, most likely Google App campaigns or ad network paid acquisition (inferred; no creatives observed). More telling, Clap To Find My Phone from the same studio, listed in Sep 29, stopped in the same 10-10/11 and 10-28/29 windows, which suggests one team is centrally scheduling traffic for two new apps.

Where it's bought is also visible: each day it appears in the Art & Design free category charts of 21 to 25 countries. Its best rank is #12 in Nigeria, followed by Singapore and the UAE at #26, South Africa at 32, the UK at 41, and the US only between 60 and 86 (Google Play category charts, 10-29 to 11-06). It has never entered any overall or Top Grossing chart. The names of the three reviewers above also fit: one sounds South African, one Nigerian. In places like Nigeria, South Africa, and the Middle East, installs are cheap, and interstitial ads can make them pay back.

Other sources: the studio has an older app with nearly 20 million installs, and promoting a new product through its own ad slots is a standard move for this kind of team (inferred). Stuffing the title and description with trending keywords feeds store search. Of the 650+ ratings, only about a dozen have text, which suggests they came from the in-app rating prompt (inferred). Searching TikTok for "AI Imagerator" returns 0 videos; on X there were 0 discussions in the last 60 days; what can be found online are mostly APK mirror sites.

Who it's competing with

Almost everyone. On Play alone, dozens of apps with "AI image / video generator" in their names are still growing in the last 7 days:

CompetitorsInstalls (11-06)How it differs

Functionally it's indistinguishable from these, and its scale is about 1% of the category leaders.

If it were you

Pass. Don't copy. This app has no product to copy. Getting it going came down to three things you probably don't have: a matrix of older apps with nearly 20 million installs to funnel traffic to new launches; a well-oiled rhythm of paid acquisition in cheap markets; and the nerve to swap package and account whenever you get pulled, then start over. Even with all three, what you end up with is a template app ranked dozens deep in a red ocean, with the leader 75 times its size.

Who it's for: going-global studios that already run a batch of utility apps and know their cost per install down to the cent on AdMob and Google App ads. For them this isn't an opportunity, it's routine: stuff one more trending keyword category into the matrix.

Who it's not for: indie devs who want to build a product people will use and pay for. The reviews on this kind of app say it all: "doesn't work", "all ads". Also not for anyone unwilling to take on policy risk; the first three generations of this app are already gone.

How to do it: if you want to borrow from it, only two moves are worth taking. First, toggle budgets on and off by day to test payback, see which days and countries' installs ad revenue can cover, and schedule new products across them together. Second, watch Play's trending search terms and change your title as soon as a feature hits (here, "Text to Image" became "Image to Video"). Both are only for people who already have apps running.

How to get users: Google App ads in cheap markets (Nigeria, South Africa, Middle East, Southeast Asia), plus traffic funneled from older in-house apps' ad slots; titles and descriptions written around search terms.

Is there a window to get in early: no real window. For this wave of AI image template apps, once the big companies roll out free features, payback only gets harder.

Signs you're reading it wrong: ① it cumulatively passes a million installs within the next month or two and charts in a country's Top Grossing, which would mean this playbook can deliver positive ROI in AI and the math is worth redoing; ② it suddenly 404 like the first three generations, meaning this path's lifespan is measured in months, so stay away; ③ the paid push stops and installs fall back to a few dozen a day, meaning the studio's own tests showed it wasn't worth it and they pulled out.

---

Data and sources: Google Play store page and reviews (US store, read 11-06), cumulative installs and category charts (10-29 to 11-06); daily installs for October and earlier are third-party estimates; records for the first three generations of AI Imagerator come from AppBrain, apkcombo, apppage.net, grand-screen, soft112; TikTok and X search (11-06). Places marked "inference" are inferences.

Where users come from
  • Inference Paid acquisition (likely Google App Campaigns / ad networks, aimed at cheap markets): the install curve is an on-off square wave; 10-10/11, 10-28/29 and the same developer's new apps stop at the same time; the best market is Nigeria; there are single-day pulses of 1–16k with no content exposure; the ad library doesn't track this developer, so no creatives were seen
  • Inference Cross-promotion across the in-house app matrix: 3 accounts under one email with about 19.4M installs of utility apps (WhatsApp QR scanner 7.7M, video downloader 5.94M, etc.), presumably using in-house ad slots to launch new products
  • Confirmed Store search / ASO: titles and descriptions are stuffed with trending terms like AI image / video generator and text to image; v12 changed the title to Image To Video to ride the keyword
  • Confirmed Repackaged / re-listed under a new bundle ID or developer account: generation 1 was com.ai.artgenerator.imagegenerator (2024-09, about 470K installs, renamed 18+ later 404), com.ai.imagerator (taken down 2026-06,07-21), and com.techinfortainment.imagerator (2026-08,404); generation 4 re-listed under a new account, Paras AI Apps. Sources: AppBrain, apppage.net, grand-screen, apkcombo
  • Inference In-app rating prompt: of 651 ratings only 10 have text; the ratings-to-installs ratio is about 0.4%, and the 2-star rating has always been 0
  • Inference TikTok / X / media: TikHub and x-radar each return 0 results; web search only turns up APK mirror sites

One line

This is a fairly generic AI text-to-image / image-to-video app, run by a small shop in Islamabad, Pakistan that makes utility apps (on Play it uses three developer accounts: TechInforTainment, G.K. Apps Studio, Paras AI Apps, all sharing one Gmail). It's not a new product: it's the same "AI Imagerator" relaunched under a new package name for the 4th time, and the first three packages have already disappeared from Play. This time it launched on 9-17. Since October there have been install spikes of 1–16k every few days, and "Clap To Find My Phone" from the same developer 9-29 follows the same curve. It was built up with a proven utility-app paid-acquisition and volume-push playbook, not because the product itself is different. It makes money from ads, with in-app purchases as a side bet.

1. Who they are

  • The developer name on Play is "Paras AI Apps"; the "About the developer" section on the detail page lists PARAS TECHNOLOGIES, House # 47, Street # 37, F-6/1 Islamabad, Pakistan, with the email [email protected]. The support email is [email protected], and the website is a blogspot: imagerator4.blogspot.com. The first sentence of the privacy policy reads "TechInforTainment built the 'AI Image to Video Generator' app" [Play detail page; imagerator4.blogspot.com]. The package prefix com.tie. is the abbreviation of TechInforTainment.
  • The same support email [email protected] is linked to 7 other apps in our googleplay library, spread across two accounts [googleplay library app / app_profile, 2026-11-06]:

Across the studio's apps, about 19.4M installs in total, all typical South Asian utility apps: WhatsApp web QR scanner, video downloader, clap-to-find-phone, prank calls, anti-theft alarm, hidden gallery. On the Play developer page, TechInforTainment also has AI Mockups, Gallery Vault, Prank Call, and two identically named "Clap To Find My Phone" apps (package names com.claptofind.phonefinder.whistle and com.dont.touch.phone.antitheft.alarm) [play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=TechInforTainment]. The store descriptions of generations 2, 3 and 4 are word-for-word identical ("Meet AI Imagerator…"). Once generation 1 gained traction, the title was changed to a version with "18+", and that then disappeared. We suspect it was pulled for violating Google Play's AI-generated content / sexual content policies, and then the studio changed package names and accounts to start over. The reason for removal is unverified. So, to be precise, this is an old product starting over on a new account, not a new product appearing.

  • The product itself (Play detail page): text-to-image (prompts can be dictated by voice), multiple styles (anime, 3D, Disney, sci-fi), multiple aspect ratios, batch generation, "multi-camera angles", built-in crop and filter editing, and "Image to Video" added in v12. Rated Teen, contains ads, in-app purchases $0.39–$17.99 each (credit packs). The data safety section says photos, videos and device IDs are shared with third parties. It has no proprietary model and no official website; its support page is a blogspot.

2. Growth data

The install curve since launch as estimated by AppstoreSpy (googleplay library app_day_ext, averaged across observation intervals, don't take single days literally) and our own observations (app_snap):

PeriodTotal installsAverage daily new installs (approx.)

11-01 → 11-03152,524~15,400
11-04 → 11-06162,720~3,400
  • net gain of 7 over the last 63,556 days, 162,720 cumulative [googleplay app_profile 2026-11-06].
  • The shape is a series of square waves: several days of 10k+, then one or two days of almost nothing (10-10/11 per day 12,10-13, only 38,10-15, only 47,10-23, only 45,10-28/29 per day 20), then another wave. Organic growth or influencer promotion doesn't produce this shape. A rhythm like a budget switched on and off daily fits Google App Campaign / ad network paid acquisition very well. The same developer's Clap To Find My Phone follows the same rhythm (10-08 +7.5k, 10-10/11 per day 34,10-28/29 per day 50,11-02~04 per day 1.3–15k) [googleplay app_day_ext]. The "stops" in 10-10/11 and 10-28/29 happened at the same time, suggesting one team scheduling traffic across both.
  • Charts: each day, in 21–25 stores' Art & Design free category charts, the best placement is Nigeria #12, followed by Singapore 26, UAE 26, Italy 28, South Africa 32, UK 41; the US sits between 60 and 86 [googleplay chart_rank 10-29~11-06]. It has never charted on any overall or Top Grossing chart. Category charts have a low bar: a few thousand installs a day is enough to squeeze into the top 50 in many stores.
  • Ratings: 651 in total, averaging 4.23; only 10 have written text. The 1-star count went from 23 (10-29) to 83 (11-06), taking its share from 7.8% to 12.7%; 2 stars has stayed 0, and the histogram is bunched at the 5-star and 1-star ends [googleplay app_snap histogram]. Ratings divided by installs comes to about 0.4%, and almost none of the ratings carry text, which is the typical result of an in-app rating prompt. The most-liked reviews on the Play page are: "Doesn't work allot off ads full of fail msg avoid" (45 likes), "It makes it difficult to make AI videos" (97 likes), "the must beutyfull app" (89 likes, possibly fake) [Play listing page].

4. Where users come from

ChannelEvidenceConfirmed?
Paid acquisition (most likely Google App Campaigns / ad networks, targeting cheap regions like South Asia, Africa, and the Middle East)The install curve is a start-stop square wave, paused in sync with another new app from the same developer; Nigeria is the best storefront; each 1–16k spike appears with no content or media exposureInferred, not directly observed in creatives: the googleads / metaads / tiktokads libraries don't have this developer, because it isn't on the tracking list. Not finding it doesn't mean it isn't advertising
Cross-promotion within the developer's own app portfolio (interstitial / native ad slots pushing their other new apps)The studio has an old utility app with about 19M installs (WhatsApp QR scanner, video downloader), and teams like this often use their own ad slots to push new products; MP4 Downloader has also been rising in sync, +47k over the past 7 daysInferred, unverified
Store search (ASO)The title is stuffed with keywords "Ai Image To Video Generator", and the description repeats "AI image generator / text to image / AI art generator / 3D image maker"; category chart rankings bring a small amount of organic trafficPartially confirmed (keyword stuffing is visible)
An in-app rating promptRatings divided by installs is about 0.4%, with almost no written reviews; the 2-star count is 0Inferred
Cross-promotion from existing usersImagerator's gen 1 app had roughly 470k installs before it was pulled. Old users may have been pointed to the new one, but there's no evidence of that. Not verified
TikTok / X / Reddit / pressTikHub search for "AI Imagerator" returned 0 results; x-radar had 0 results in the past 60 days; web search only turned up APK mirror sites; the TechInforTainment promo video on YouTube has only a few dozen viewsConfirmed: none

5. Why it charted

  1. Copy-paste scaling by a mature studio: this team has already used the same playbook to build a portfolio of utility apps with about 19M installs, and this one simply wraps AI image generation in the same template (blogspot website, Gmail support, ad monetization, multiple accounts).
  2. Paid acquisition / cross-promotion to drive installs: the curve is a square wave, and two new apps are switched on and off in sync, indicating a budgeted, scheduled campaign rather than organic spread.
  3. Cheap markets: the best storefront is Nigeria, with South Africa, the UAE, and Southeast Asia also ranking high. These places have low CPI, and paired with AdMob ad monetization this makes for an arbitrage play.
  4. Got pulled? Relaunch under a new bundle ID and a new account: after the gen-1 app (2024-09, about 470k installs) was gone, the June and August relaunches under new bundle IDs never took off. The 4rd attempt, under the new Paras AI Apps account, finally gained traction. They keep rebuilding, and the new account may have sidestepped the old account's ranking history.
  5. Riding the "image-to-video" trend: v12 added "Image to Video" and the title changed from "Text to image" to "Image To Video Generator", matching the hottest search term on Play in 2026 year.

6. Differentiation

Basically none. The features, copy, and screenshots are the same cookie-cutter AI image templates found everywhere on Play; image quality and models can't match the big companies' free features or the top apps. User reviews center on "too many ads, generations fail." It gets by on distribution (paid acquisition, portfolio, cheap markets, repeated relaunches), not product differentiation. If there is any "difference" at all, it's a small feature like voice-input prompts that every competitor also has.

7. Visibility and copycats

  • Still barely known: no media, X, or TikTok discussion, revenue isn't public, and it's only indexed on APK mirror sites.
  • Copycats: it's hard to say anyone is copying it; it is itself the copycat, since dozens of similar template apps already exist.

8. What to borrow

  • The South Asian tool-studio playbook: multiple accounts, a matrix of package names, the extremely low operating cost of blogspot plus Gmail, titles stuffed with trending keywords, buying traffic from cheap markets, recouping through AdMob; when pulled, swap the package and restart.
  • Square-wave buying: switch budgets on and off by day to test ROI, scheduling two new apps in sync.
  • Chase trending keywords and change the title (Text to Image → Image to Video) to ride search traffic.
  • This path has a very low barrier to entry, but also a low ceiling, and carries policy risk (the first three generations all disappeared).

9. Still unclear

  • The specific acquisition channels and creatives (Google UAC, Unity, Mintegral, or cross-promotion) are unknown; our ad libraries don't track this developer.
  • Why the first three generations were removed (policy violations, or voluntary takedowns?).
  • Revenue: it has ads and in-app purchases but hasn't made the Top Grossing chart, and whether ROI is positive is unknown; the square-wave rhythm may also mean unstable ROI and ongoing testing.
  • Whether Paras Technologies (the outsourcing firm at parastechnologies.com) and this studio are the same company, or just share a name, is unverified.
  • 2 stars holding steady at 0 could be a data-collection issue, or the ratings could have been manipulated; unverified.
