# 37k installs and it hit the India Top Grossing chart: a 1v1 video-chat shell, and the shell-swapping business behind it

**What it is** A 1v1 video-plus-text chat app that charges coins per minute, with an in-app purchase of $1.99 to $99.99, targeting India, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and other markets.

**Why it took off** Each paying user in this category spends a lot, and the bar to reach the tail of India's social Top Grossing chart is low; behind it sit ready-made hosts and a billing backend, batches of paid acquisition, multiple countries launched together, and ratings that look manufactured.

**D** **How you could follow it** Not recommended to copy the shell; if you go in, only fill the gap it leaves unfilled, such as legitimate companionship or practice services for one specific country or language on a subscription, but that is a different business.

Grade D: its success came from host supply, a mature backend, a paid acquisition team, and shell-swapping with fake ratings, none of which an indie developer can access; there are hundreds of shells using the same playbook, and the top players' ad spend is dozens to hundreds of times larger, so the space is already crowded. Few people know about it yet

Tingle (recently renamed Flexu) is a video-chat app charging per minute, with 1v1. Less than three months after launch it has 37k installs, and in early November it entered the top 150 or so of India's Google Play social Top Grossing chart. It looks like a small team built a product that makes money, but in fact it is the third shell under one developer account. Below, I explain what it is, how to read that ranking, and whether you should dive into this niche.

### A review: "not free but very hot"

On Sep 25, an Indian user named Anup Das left a comment on its Google Play page: "not free but very hot 🔥🥵". That one line pretty much sums up the app: it's not free, with in-app purchases running from $1.99 to $99.99; "hot" refers to the person on the other end of the screen. Most other reviews visible on the store page are one- or two-word notes like "good app" or "Good", and the reviewers' names are mostly Indian and African.

Its store description is restrained: "Sometimes you want video, sometimes a message is enough", "You can end a conversation at any time, with block and report options", "For adults, promoting mutual respect". The age rating is 18+ (Mature 17+ in the US store), tagged "User Interaction, In-app Purchases". Descriptions like this are written for the reviewers, not the users.

Another detail: when I opened the store page on Nov 6, the title had changed to "Flexu- Share and Joy" and the first line of the description to "Talk your way with Flexu", but the second paragraph still said "Tingle brings both options together". Only half the name had been swapped.

### What its numbers look like

| Project | Metric | Sources |
|---|---|---|
| Installs | 37,381,7 days +7,176 (about +24%) | Google Play,11-06 |
| Launched | 2026-08-11 | Google Play |
| Best rank | #143 on India's social Top Grossing chart (11-04), 11-06 #165 | Google Play charts |
| Charted at the same time | 11-05/06 ranked #135–193 on the social Top Free chart in Thailand, Turkey, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, Argentina, and Saudi Arabia | Google Play charts |
| Rating | 433 in total; the US store shows 4.5 stars, the India store 4.1 stars / 448 ratings | Google Play,11-06 |

The install curve comes in bursts: in early October it was stuck at over 4 thousand; the week before Oct 9 it suddenly added 7,800; on Oct 30 it jumped by 4,400 in one day, then didn't move for two days; on Nov 2 it added 2,900 more, and on Nov 5 another 0. Organic word-of-mouth growth curves steepen slowly; this pattern of surging then pausing for days looks more like batched ad buys (inferred; I could not confirm where the ads ran). Seven or eight countries appearing on the free chart's tail on the same day also fits a multi-country launch.

The ratings are even more suspicious. The star histogram has only ever had 3-star and 5-star ratings; 1-star, 2-star, and 4-star have stayed at 0; the 3-star count rose from 43 to 49 within a few days, then fell back to 41. For every 1,000 new installs, roughly 17 extra ratings appeared, which is far too high for an app where everything costs money. Genuine users don't produce ratings like this; it's most likely prompted or purchased five-star ratings (inferred).

### One account, three shells

The developer is Wavechat Inc., self-described as "a global publisher of social apps on Google Play," with a personal Gmail as the contact. Under the account, 3 apps:

- **Graboo - Video chat & Match** : 100k+ downloads. The listing still has the line "Here is Xviews for you," and the package name carries xviews, so it's an old app rebranded.

- **Muaa - Chat & Call** : launched Jul 29, about 116k installs, with a pulse-shaped curve. After Oct 29 it dropped off every chart.

- **Tingle / Flexu** : launched Aug 11, two weeks after Muaa.

The privacy policies and "company websites" of all three apps sit under the same H5 domain. The website is a one-page template. The package names are random letter strings, and the names are a generic word plus suffixes like "Share and Joy" or "Chat & Call." This is a common playbook for going-global 1v1 video chat teams: hosts, billing, and content live on the server, and the app is just a shell. If one shell gets banned or its paid acquisition decays, they launch the next one.

### How much this "Top Grossing" placement is worth

Look closely at which chart it entered. It made the tail of India's Social category Top Grossing chart, not the overall chart, and it has never charted in any country's overall app ranking. The bar at the tail of that chart is low. On the same chart, #170 PinkChat has only 216k installs, #100 Vietgirl has 309k, and among the top 200, 25 have fewer than 200k installs, mostly similar small shells (Google Play, 11-06).

So "37k installs and charted in Top Grossing" tells you two things: this category has high spend per paying user, with coins deducted per minute and up to $99.99 per order; and the tail of India's Social Top Grossing chart is crowded with exactly these shells. It does not tell you Tingle has any edge of its own. No public figures exist for its actual revenue or which country the money comes from.

### Who it's competing with

| Product | Scale (Google Play, 11-06) | How it differs |
|---|---|---|
| Tango | 387M installs, India Social #3 | Live-streaming gift platforms are a different tier |
| Azar (owned by Match Group) | 293M installs, +237k in 7 days | Legitimate random video chat brands with heavy compliance spend |
| OmeTV | 254M installs, +968k in 7 days | Mostly free random matching |
| Lumi | 29M installs, India Social #10 | Same 1v1 paid model, India's leader |
| ChaloJi | 11.2M installs, +244k in 7 days | Same model, with far deeper Indian localization |
| Riff, Deka, Mici, Poca, Niko, and others | Millions to 15M installs, +130k to +210k per day over 7 days | Same shell-swapping playbook, 50 to 400 times the ad spend |
| Small shells like PinkChat and Yuno | Tens of thousands to a few hundred thousand installs | Same tier as Tingle, almost no difference |

No one in the field is materially different in features. Tingle is the bottom-layer shell in a crowded lane. I can't find any discussion of it online: nobody has mentioned it on X in nearly 60 days, TikTok search turns up no related videos, there's no press coverage, only a few automated pages on app-listing aggregators.

### If it were you

**Verdict:** Don't follow it. This category does make money, but Tingle only surfaced because of ready-made host supply, a billing backend, and an ad-buying team, plus shell swapping and rating manipulation. An indie dev building a single app can't replicate that. Hundreds of shells run the same playbook in this lane, and the top players spend tens to hundreds of times more on acquisition.

**Who it suits:** Teams that already have anchor agency resources, a 1v1 video backend, and going-global paid acquisition experience, and that can accept content-compliance and account-ban risk. For them, Tingle only proves that one more shell can sit at the tail of India's Social Top Grossing chart. Nothing new.

**Who it doesn't suit:** Indie devs and small teams who want to win on product differentiation, content, or word of mouth, or who have no host resources. This lane competes on supply and ad spend. The product itself barely matters.

**How to play it:** If you're determined to enter, don't build the hundred-and-first shell. Go after what it does poorly: for example, a single country and language, legitimate companionship or language practice, subscription-based, and not relying on adult innuendo to pass review. But that's a different business, and Tingle's data doesn't prove it can work.

**How it acquires users:** Shells like this rely on Google app ads and agency accounts, buying in batches and running several countries at once (inferred). Without an ad budget and a payback model, this path doesn't work.

**When to get in:** There's no window to speak of. This playbook has run for several years, and Tingle is just another new package from the same 2026 August-era operators.

**Signs I got it wrong:** ① Flexu's installs keep steadily climbing months later, and the rating histogram starts showing normal 1, 2, 4-star ratings, which would mean it's actually keeping users and not just propped up by paid acquisition; ② the same developer stops launching new shells and concentrates on scaling a single app, which would mean per-shell payback on this account is better than it looks; ③ public revenue figures appear and the bar at the tail of India's Social Top Grossing chart clearly rises, which would mean this small-shell business is more lucrative and has more room than estimated.

Where users come from

- Inferred **Programmatic paid acquisition (Google UAC / ad networks / agency accounts, inferred)** : the install curve has a pulse shape (10-09 one week +7.8k, a single day +3.5k, then falling back, 10-22), and it charted simultaneously at the tail of free category charts in 11-05/06 8 countries. No organic content footprint at all.

- Inferred **Ad library check** : the googleads / metaads / tiktokads libraries have no records for com.tinglenic.nce, Wavechat, or waoooo.xyz. These libraries only track a list of advertisers, so no record doesn't mean no spend.

- Inferred **Solicited / purchased ratings (inferred)** : the histogram for 433 ratings shows only 3-star and 5-star, with 1/2/4-star counts consistently 0,3 and declining; +126 ratings in 7 days, about 17 per thousand installs, which is high; reviews are mostly short phrases like "good app" and "Good."

- **Confirmed** **Shell matrix / legacy app migration** : Graboo (formerly Xviews), Muaa, and Tingle share the same developer, the same H5 backend, and the same privacy policy. Tingle has been renamed Flexu, and the listing mixes old and new names.

- Inferred **TikTok / X / media / creators** : x-radar shows 0 posts in 60 days, TikHub search returns no related videos, and there's no media coverage.

## Tingle - Share and Joy (now Flexu - Share and Joy, com.tinglenic.nce) research report

> Channel: Google Play | Developer: Wavechat Inc. (contact email monizegomes039@gmail.com) | First launched 2026-08-11 | Category SOCIAL | Rating Mature 17+ | Research date 2026-11-06

### Bottom line

Tingle isn't a new app that succeeded on its product. It's the third shell from a small developer account in the going-global **1v1 paid video chat (per-minute / coin billing)** lane. Under Wavechat Inc., Graboo (package com.xviewsllit.tiger, a reskin of the now-delisted Xviews), Muaa, and Tingle all share one H5 backend (h5.waoooo.xyz). It made the charts because the category has high ARPU and the tail of India's SOCIAL Top Grossing chart has a low bar (37k installs was enough for #143–#174), plus pulse-shaped installs from batched paid acquisition and a batch of ratings that were probably manufactured. No differentiation, and no content or community footprint at all.

### 1. Data (our database + store page)

- **Installs** : 37,381 (Google Play library app_snap, 2026-11-06; store tier 10K+). +7,176 over 7 days (10-30 30,205 → 11-06), about +24%.

- **Install curve since launch** (googleplay library app_day_ext, AppstoreSpy estimates): 9-11 about 1,418 → 9-18~19 with +810 / +617 per day → 10-02 4,363 (nearly flat through late September) → **10-09 jumps to 12,154 (+7.8k in one week)** → 10-18~22 adding +450~+3,563 per day → 10-27 25,812 → 11-06 37,381. The pulse shape is obvious: a burst, a few quiet days, another burst. It looks like installs bought in batches, not word of mouth.

- **Chart rank** (googleplay library chart_rank, from 10-29):
    - India SOCIAL **Top Grossing** category chart: 11-02 #174 → 11-04 #143 (best) → 11-06 #165. On the same chart, PinkChat - 1v1 Video Chat at #170 has only 216k installs, and Vietgirl at #100 has 309k. It's a chart whose tail is filled with similar small clones (25 of the top 200 apps have under 200k installs).
    - Free SOCIAL category chart: in Turkey, 10-29 hovered around #165–#199 after reaching #132, 11-06 #136; 11-05/06 also appeared in Argentina, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, Saudi Arabia and Thailand (#135–#198), and once in Italy 11-01. Several countries entering the bottom of the chart on the same day fits a multi-country launch.
    - Never charted in the overall top apps.

- **Ratings** : 433 (11-06), averaging 4.8 (US store details); the store page (US store, hl=en) shows 4.5 / 442. **Odd histogram** : the 1-star, 2-star and 4-star counts have stayed at 0, with only 3-star (41–49) and 5-star (258→389) moving, and the 3-star count has gone up and down over several days (43→49→41). Ratings grew by +5~+27,7 a day over 126 days, which is clearly high relative to installs (about 17 new ratings per 1000 installs). Real user histograms don't look like this, and it's highly suspicious of incentivized or purchased five-star ratings (the same developer's Muaa histogram [78, 0, 39, 279, 759] is also missing 2-star ratings). The visible store-page reviews are one- or two-word blurbs like "not free but very hot 🔥🥵", "good app" and "Good", and many reviewer names look Indian or African."

- **In-app purchases** : $1.99–$99.99 per item; no ads. Rated Mature 17+ (Users Interact, In-App Purchases).

- **Version** : the library has always shown 1.0.1 (updated 2026-09-29); the store page shows an update 10-29, APKPure shows 11-06 released 1.0.2, APK about 144 MB.

- **Rename** : the Play store title is now "Flexu- Share and Joy", and the first line of the description was changed to "Talk your way with Flexu", but the body still reads "Tingle brings both options…". The rename was only half done, a typical templated operation. APKPure still lists it as Tingle.

### II. Who runs it: a clone matrix under one developer account

- Developer page (Play, 2026-11-06): Wavechat Inc. describes itself as "specializing in global distribution of social applications on Google Play", with 3 apps under its name:
    - **Graboo - Video chat & Match** (com.xviewsllit.tiger): 100K+ downloads, 3.27K ratings, 4.5 stars. The description still contains "👍Here is Xviews for you", and the package name is xviews, so it's a predecessor, Xviews, rebranded with a new shell. APKPure records 1.0.7 (9-16) and 1.0.8 (10-14). It isn't in our library (it never charted).
    - **Muaa -Chat & Call** (com.muamuah.uma): launch 2026-07-29,11-06, about 115,664 installs (AppstoreSpy estimate). Late August showed a burst of 4–5k daily and a single day of +11k 10-08. Over 7 days it gained +10,583, but since 10-29 it has been off every chart.
    - **Tingle / Flexu** (com.tinglenic.nce): launched 2026-08-11, two weeks after Muaa.

- All three packages point to the same privacy policy, h5.waoooo.xyz/privacyPolicy.html, the same website, h5.waoooo.xyz/wavechatinc/index.html (a one-page corporate template), and the same personal gmail. Combined, the developer has about 150k installs (the two in our library) plus 100k+ for Graboo.

- The package names are random strings (tinglenic.nce, muamuah.uma, xviewsllit.tiger), the names are two generic words plus "Share and Joy / Chat & Call / Video chat & Match", and the descriptions are deliberately neutral ("for adults", "respectful communication"), aimed at getting through review. This is the familiar playbook of Chinese-run 1v1 video-chat teams going global: one backend, many shells. When a shell gets banned or decays, switch to the next one. Hosts, billing and content live on the server side.

### III. Competitors (googleplay library app_profile, 2026-11-06)

| Product | Platform | Launched | Scale | How they differ from Tingle |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Azar(Hyperconnect / Match Group) | Android/iOS | 2013-10 | 293M installs, +237k over 7 days, Italy Top Grossing #48 | Legitimate random video chat brands with heavy compliance spend |
| Tango | Android/iOS | 2010-09 | 387M installs, Turkey Top Grossing #8, India SOCIAL Top Grossing #3 | Live-streaming tipping platform, a different scale entirely |
| OmeTV | Android | 2015-07 | 254M installs, +968k in 7 days | Mostly free random matching, capturing traffic from the Omegle shutdown |
| Timo Club | Android | 2023-03 | 51.7M installs, #36 on Turkey Top Grossing | Voice rooms + video, a leading global player |
| Lumi - online video chat | Android | — | 29M installs, India Social Top Grossing #10 | Same 1v1 paid model, India's leader |
| ChaloJi | Android | 2025-07 | 11.2M installs, +7k in 244 days, #138 on India Top Grossing | Same model, with deeper localization for India |
| New shells like Riff / Deka / Mici / Poca / Niko | Android | 2025 | Millions to tens of millions of installs | Same playbook, but 50–400x the ad spend |
| PinkChat - 1v1 Video Chat | Android | — | 216k installs, India Social Top Grossing #170 | A close neighbor in the same chart tier, also a small clone |
| Yuno / EchoHub / Zeya(Bussell Games) | Android | 2026 | Yuno 82k installs, peaked at Singapore Top Grossing #65 | Another small matrix in the same period, same "one backend, many shells" approach |

None of them is fundamentally different from Tingle in features. Tingle is simply one of the bottom-tier shells in this crowded niche.

### 4. Growth tactics

- **Paid acquisition (inferred, specific channels unverified)** : the install curve has a pulse shape (10-09 +7.8k in one week, 10-22 +3.5k in a single day, 11-02/04 each around +1.5k), and 8 countries entered the bottom of free category charts on the same day. There's no trace of organic content. None of the three ad libraries (googleads / metaads / tiktokads) has records for it, Wavechat, or waoooo.xyz. But those libraries only track listed products, and TikTok covers only Europe, so not finding it doesn't mean it wasn't advertised. The industry norm is Google UAC plus ad networks and agency accounts.

- **Rating management (suspected incentivized or purchased ratings)** : the histogram has only 3-star and 5-star ratings, 1/2/4-star is 0, and the rating growth rate is high. For a 1v1 app where everything costs money, 4.5–4.8 stars is abnormal.

- **Store search / ASO** : the title and subtitle are stuffed with "Share and Joy" and "Switch naturally between call and chat", neutral words meant to pass review rather than rank in search. Their contribution to ASO is limited (unverified).

- **Matrix cross-promotion** : the three shells under one developer share a backend and may cross-promote inside the app or move users from older packages to new ones (unverified).

- **Content / creators / press** : none. x-radar has 60 days of tingle / graboo / wavechat with 0 posts; TikTok searches for "Graboo app" and "Tingle video chat" return unrelated results. The web only has auto-generated pages from AppBrain, APKPure, Softonic and Similarweb.

### 5. Why it took off

1. **High ARPU in the category** : 1v1 video deducts coins per minute, in-app purchases go up to $99.99/item, and 37k installs was enough to reach India SOCIAL Top Grossing #143–#174 (googleplay chart_rank 11-02~06).

2. **Low chart bar** : they land in the tail of India's category Top Grossing chart and of multi-country free category charts, not the overall chart. Their neighbors in the same tier are all small shells with 20–300k installs.

3. **Mature backend + shell rotation** : Xviews→Graboo, Muaa, and Tingle→Flexu all share h5.waoooo.xyz. A new shell appears every two weeks to two months, and even the renames aren't cleaned up.

4. **Staggered paid acquisition + review management (inferred)** : pulsed download curves, multi-country same-day chart debuts, and a rating histogram with only 3/5-star reviews.

### VI. Differentiation

There's no product-level differentiation. The features (video + text chat, block and report), the copy, the billing model and the monetization all match hundreds of similar shells, and the descriptions even mix old and new names. It doesn't stand out because of differentiation. It works because the category can make money, backed by an operation that copies shells quickly.

### 7. What's worth borrowing

- When judging early payment signals, first discount the low bar of "category Top Grossing tail + low-ARPU countries": India SOCIAL Top Grossing #165 takes only tens of thousands of installs.

- Signals for spotting a disguised clone: random package names, a personal gmail, a privacy policy on an h5 subpath, a one-page template for the company website, old and new names mixed in the description, gaps in the rating histogram, a large in-app purchase range of $1.99–$99.99, and a Mature 17+ rating.

- "One backend + many shells + a new package every two weeks" spreads the risk of account bans and decay. The packages are just billing and video skins.

### 8. What's still uncertain

- Actual revenue and which countries it comes from (the India Top Grossing chart is only one signal); specific paid acquisition channels and spend;

- The company's real entity (Wavechat Inc. has no registration info; likely a team based in China);

- Whether the hosts are real people doing paid companionship, pre-recorded, or AI; whether ratings were really bought (only inferable from the histogram);

- Why it was renamed Flexu (passing review / avoiding complaints / creative A/B testing).
