# An "AI sports data" app that African users use to find betting tips: a small Turkish team's third package swap

**What it is** A football and basketball scores and AI pre-match analysis app. It gives one free analysis a day, and the rest requires a membership subscription.

**Why it blew up** Three days after launch it was running Google app ads in 138 countries, mainly Africa. Users there treat it as a betting-tips app and will pay for VIP. Once the ads stopped, installs nearly stopped too.

**C** **How you could follow** Don't build another English AI football predictor. If you do, fill the local payment gap it leaves (M-Pesa, MoMo), or pick a market where similar teams haven't piled in yet. Test paid-acquisition cost in the first week after launch.

Grade C: the tactics (swapping packages, paid acquisition, compliance-friendly framing, free-quota hooks) are worth studying, but the category already has dozens of similar apps, several from Turkish teams using the same playbook. Tinoba's own paid acquisition only reached 36k, so following it isn't worth it. Few people know about this

A small Istanbul company called Zobut listed Tinoba on Google Play at the end of September. The store listing calls it an "AI sports hub": scores, live tracking, xG, AI pre-match analysis. Five weeks later it had 36k installs, almost all from Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa and Ghana. Their reviews ask the same question: are the VIP tips accurate? This piece covers how it started, where the users came from, where the money comes from, and why you probably shouldn't copy it.

### A one-star review

On Oct 31, a user named Emmanuel Mwakitalu gave Tinoba one star: "Scam. I paid for VIP, then after an update nothing showed. No correct score, no HT, no fulltime coupons... don't waste your money on VIP, mates." (original: "no correct score no ht fulltime coupons...dont waste you money for VIP mates")

Ten days ago, another user, Jabulani Phakathi, gave five stars: "Good app, the free ones hit 70%. I wonder what the VIP win rate is... trying it now. VIP, here I come."

These two reviews sum up Tinoba. The store description never uses the words "betting" or "predictions", and it ends with "for entertainment and reference only". The official FAQ has a question, "What app is Tinoba?", answered with "a sports statistics and analysis app... the only thing you can pay for is AI PRO membership." But the people who download it want tips: correct scores, half-time/full-time, exact scores. They give five stars when they win and call it a scam when they lose.

### What it is

On features, it's a standard football and basketball scores app: league scores worldwide, a live pitch animation, xG updated every minute, AI-written pre-match analysis and match commentary, plus a community where you can check other users' "tip" records. Its description specifically names Nigeria's NPFL and Ghana's Premier League, and says it's optimized for low-end phones and slow networks.

There's one place it charges: a full AI analysis is free each day, while full reports on the other matches, live xG and "Ask AI" require AI PRO. That's a Google Play subscription, listed at $6.99–$99.99 in the store, and R129.99–R1,849.99 in the South Africa store. Users are blunt about it: "You guys are too stingy, at least give three full tips" (10-01, one star).

Numbers (Google Play, 11-06): 36,308 total installs, and 7 new ratings in 3,843,260 days. The South Africa store shows the real star distribution: an average of 4.25,1 stars from 32 ratings, with 5 one-star ratings from 195, so it's not a wall of fake five-star reviews.

### Where the users came from: Google ads started on day three

Searching the Google Ads Transparency Center for the advertiser "ZOBUT GAMES TEKNOLOJI LIMITED SIRKETI" (Turkey, verified) turns up a video ad that leads to Tinoba. It first ran on Sep 30, day three after launch, and most recently on Nov 1. It ran in 138 countries and regions, not the US.

The install curve lines up with the ad schedule (third-party estimates; from November on, the figures are actual Google Play numbers):

| Timeline | What happened | Installs |
|---|---|---|
| 9-27 | Launched | 0 |
| 9-30 | Ads start | — |
| 10-09 ~ 10-21 | 10-07 to 10-13: Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Uganda and other African countries gradually stop | Rises from 9,800 to 30k, 900–2,300 a day |
| 10-23 ~ 10-29 | Only South Africa, Egypt, Brazil and a few European countries still running | Nearly stops, a few to a few hundred a day |
| 10-31 ~ 11-05 | — | Back to a few hundred to over a thousand a day, cause unconfirmed |

South Africa was the African country with the longest run (until 10-31), and the only one where it charted in the top 100 of the SPORTS Top Free chart: #74 on 11-02, later falling to #113 on 11-06.

Other channels are almost empty. Searching "football prediction", "correct score" and "live score" in the Play stores for Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya and Ghana, it doesn't appear in the top 30 results. Searching tinoba on TikTok turns up zero relevant videos. There have been no mentions on X in the past two months, and no media or bloggers have written about it. **Its users are bought, and they leave when the ads stop.**

### This is the third time

Tinoba isn't Zobut's first app of this kind. The history of the same ad account is clear:

| App | Launched | Ads | Installs (11-06) | Now |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gol9 - AI Football Analysis (under another developer account, Minfek) | 2021-11 | 2026-01 to 03 | 490k | No updates after September, rating 3.53 |
| AIMatches - AI Match Analysis | 2026-03-14 | 03-19 to 05-28,11 videos | 208k | Last updated 9-25 |
| Tinoba - AI Sports Hub | 2026-09-27 | 09-30 to 11-01 | 36k | Updated continuously |

AIMatches was last updated on Sep 25, and Tinoba launched two days later. The pattern: **a new package goes live with Google app ads right away, the ads run for about two months and stop, then the next package replaces it.** Swapping packages has at least three benefits: a new app gets the store's boost for new releases in its first few months; the "scam" and "fake" reviews and low ratings stay on the old package; and each swap lets the copy be scrubbed a little cleaner. Tinoba's description removes prediction and betting language more thoroughly than AIMatches did. (Inference: this is likely to get past review and keep ads running, since Google requires eligibility for ads from betting-related apps.)

I haven't verified whether Gol9 and Zobut are the same company through business registration records. The only evidence is that Zobut's ad account ran ads for Gol9. Zobut's own website claims 120k+ installs, which undercounts the actual figure. AIMatches alone had 208k.

### Where the money comes from, and how much

The hook is "one free report a day, plus past track record." Users look at the free report first, then browse the history page ("I checked their past matches, very impressive", 10-07, five stars, not yet subscribed), and then open VIP. Play's regional pricing makes it affordable in low-spend markets like South Africa and Nigeria.

Revenue can't be seen from the outside. Since 11-04, it has appeared in the SPORTS Top Grossing chart in 17 countries, ranked #148–#196, but the positions are almost identical across countries, which suggests those small-country charts draw from the same aggregated ranking. The bar to reach #150 on the SPORTS Top Grossing chart is also low. AIMatches has been on the same set of charts at #160–#190 since 10-29. What can be said: people are paying, but how much isn't known. How much was spent on ads, and whether it paid back, is also unknown.

Payments block part of the paying audience. AIMatches' reviews repeatedly ask for mobile money ("Many people don't have credit cards... please support MoMo"), and it can only charge through Google Play billing.

### Who it's competing with

This category is already crowded.

| Who | Scale (Google Play installs, 11-06) | How Tinoba differs |
|---|---|---|
| Sofascore / Flashscore / LiveScore / FotMob | 56M–108M | Legitimate score app, free with ads, no tips sold |
| AiScore | 31.4M | Scores plus AI predictions, two orders of magnitude bigger |
| 11XScore AI Football | 2.97M, 7 days +64k | Same kind of AI predictions, and one week of new installs beats Tinoba's entire total |
| 180Score AI / 360Score AI / TipsPro AI | 320k–2.92M | Has "Predictions" in its name, taking the search term |
| BetMines / Forebet / TOT Betting Tips | 1.14M–7.14M | Openly sells betting tips |
| Correct Score Tips AI Analysis, AppScore, GoScore AI | 110k–1.1M | Also small Turkish teams, also packaged as "AI analysis" aimed at Africa |
| GoalGPT / MatchIQ / ScoreAI / ScoreMind | 90k–220k | Same batch of reskins |
| ChatGPT / Gemini | — | Pre-match analysis is free to write; one user in the reviews says "ChatGPT's predictions are better" |

Among sports apps launched on Google Play less than 200 days ago, ranked by 7-day new installs, Tinoba doesn't make the top 30 (#30 is +32k). In its own category, it's a small player.

### What it got right

The product itself has no differentiation. Live tracking, xG and AI commentary are standard for this type of app. Adding basketball or optimizing for low-end phones isn't why it grew. What's worth looking at is the playbook:

- **One backend, shipped under rotating packages.** The data feeds, AI analysis pipeline and subscription logic stay the same. Every few months the package name, brand and copy get swapped.

- **Paid acquisition the week of launch, stop after one to two months.** No betting on organic traffic, no attachment to the old package.

- **Separate the demand from the packaging.** Users want betting tips, while the store listing says "sports data analysis, for entertainment only." Payment goes only through Play subscriptions.

- **Use the free allowance as the hook.** One full report a day, plus a track-record page, so people upgrade on their own.

### If it were you

**Verdict: you can learn the playbook, but it's not worth following.** The category is crowded with dozens of similar apps, several from the same small Turkish teams running the same playbook. Even with paid acquisition, Tinoba only reached 36k installs, and when the spending stops, so do the installs.

**Who it suits:** Teams that have already run subscriptions profitably through Google app ads, have a backend they can reuse, and are willing to live off package swaps. For them it's just another category.

**Who it doesn't suit:** First-time app developers, people without an ad budget or the skill to calculate payback periods, and anyone who doesn't want to touch grey-area demand like betting tips or get called a scammer every day.

**If you do build something, how:** Don't build the 50th English-language AI football predictor. Look at what it gets wrong instead: local payments (M-Pesa, MoMo, OPay), which African users keep asking for in reviews; or a market and language where people also love buying tips but Turkish teams haven't piled in yet (inference; check by searching "prediction" terms in the relevant language on Play). Acquisition would still be Google app ads, started the week of launch. Spend $1,000–2,000 first to measure the cost of each paying user before deciding whether to scale.

**Timing:** There's no clear window. This isn't a new opportunity that's still wide open. Building it sooner or later makes little difference.

**What would show this analysis is wrong:** If Tinoba kept getting over a thousand installs a day without ads, that would mean there's an organic or word-of-mouth channel I haven't seen. If its or similar apps' revenue were made public and the payback period turned out to be short, that would mean the category is more profitable than it looks, and the math should be redone.

Where users come from

- **Verified** **Google App campaign video creative** : Google Ads Transparency Center shows advertiser ZOBUT GAMES TEKNOLOJI (AR14526531443292635137)'s creative CR09685381368237785089 landing on com.tinoba, running from 2026-09-30 to 11-01 across 138 countries; most African countries stopped at 10-07 to 10-13, with South Africa running through 10-31, which matches the install curve stopping at 10-23.

- **Verified** **Package-swap playbook / reusing the same paid acquisition setup** : the same ad account ran paid campaigns for Gol9 (com.kuzsport.gol9) from 2026-01 to 03, and for AIMatches from 03-19 to 05-28 (starting five days after launch). AIMatches stopped updating on 09-25, and Tinoba launched two days later.

- Inferred **Store search** : searching "football prediction", "correct score", "live score", "ai match analysis" and similar terms in the ng / za / ke / gh stores, Tinoba doesn't appear in the top 30

- Inferred **TikTok / X / media** : TikHub and x-radar both show zero mentions, no press coverage

## Tinoba - AI Sports Hub (com.tinoba) research report

Date: 2026-11-06 Channel: Google Play Developer: Zobut (ZOBUT GAMES TEKNOLOJI LIMITED SIRKETI, Sancaktepe, Istanbul)

### One line

On the surface it's an "AI sports hub" (football + basketball scores, live tracking, AI pre-match analysis), but users download and pay for it as a **football betting prediction / VIP tips app** . This is the third near-identical product from a small Turkish team; the one before it was AIMatches (launched 2026-03, 208k installs), and before that Gol9 under another developer account, Minfek (since 2021, 490k installs). **Tinoba's installs came almost entirely from Google App campaigns (video creatives) run across 138 countries** , with a focus on sub-Saharan Africa. Money comes in through Google Play subscriptions: 1 free analyses a day, with the rest behind VIP / AI PRO.

### 1. Data

| Metric | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Store launch | 2026-09-27 | googleplay library `app.released`; Play page |
| Total installs | 36,308 | googleplay library 2026-11-06 |
| 7 new in the last day | +3,843 | googleplay library `installs_gain_7d` |
| Rating | 4.25 (ZA store), 260 ratings | google-play-scraper 2026-11-06, pulled directly from the ZA store; ZA star breakdown 1★32 / 3★32 / 5★195 |
| In-app purchases | $6.99–$99.99 / item (ZA R129.99–R1,849.99) | googleplay library; scraper |
| Tags | Contains ads, contains in-app purchases | Play page |

Note: the US-store snapshot in the googleplay library shows a star breakdown of [0,0,0,0,260]; the ZA store gives the real distribution, averaging 4.25, so **it's not all five-star review-padding** . The recall rationale that "ratings jumping 214→260 in a few days means review-padding" doesn't hold: those days coincided with a new version (1.1.1→1.1.2), which also brought new one-star reviews.

**Install curve** (AppstoreSpy estimate, googleplay library `app_day_ext`; from November is our own sampling):

| Date | Cumulative | Current daily gain |
|---|---|---|
| 10-09 | 9,777 | About 2,400 |
| 10-12 | 16,810 | About 7,000 (two-day total) |
| 10-13 ~ 10-21 | 19,163 → 30,278 | 900–2,300 per day |
| 10-23 ~ 10-29 | 31,186 → 31,988 | 2–450 per day, nearly flat |
| 10-31 ~ 11-03 | 32,465 → 35,491 | 240–1,340 per day, picking up again |
| 11-05 | 36,308 | About 400 |

**Charts** (googleplay library `chart_rank`): South Africa SPORTS Top Free #11-02 74, 11-05 #92, 11-06 #113; Mexico SPORTS Top Free 152; Nigeria SPORTS Top Free 199 (11-05). Since 11-04 it has also charted on SPORTS Top Grossing at #17–148 across 196 countries, with nearly identical ranks in each, consistent with the tool docs' note that small-country category charts are the same aggregated chart. The SPORTS Top Grossing #150 bar is low, so **it can't be used to prove revenue** . Sister product AIMatches has also sat at #10-29–17 on the same 160-country Top Grossing charts since 190.

**Same team's matrix** :

| App | Developer account | Launched | Installs | Landscape |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gol9 - AI Football Analysis(com.kuzsport.gol9) | Minfek (another developer account, site gol9.com) | 2021-11-19 | 490,769 | Last updated 2026-09-09; Nigeria in-app purchases ₦880–₦80,500; rating 3.53 |
| AIMatches - AI Match Analysis(com.aimatches) | Zobut | 2026-03-14 | 208,496,7 days +2,467 | Last updated 2026-09-25 (two days before Tinoba launched), no updates since; rating 4.34 / 1,914 |
| Tinoba - AI Sports Hub(com.tinoba) | Zobut | 2026-09-27 | 36,308,7 days +3,843 | Still updating (11-06 is 1.1.3) |
| Tonbuk (board game social) | Zobut | — | 10k+ | Unrelated to this line |

Gol9 is counted in this matrix because from 2026-01-30 to 03-31 Zobut's Google ads account ran a video ad landing on com.kuzsport.gol9 (Google Ads Transparency Center, see below). In other words, Minfek's Gol9 and Zobut are the same people running paid, or at least sharing one ad account.

### 2. Where users come from: Google App campaigns (confirmed)

- The Google Ads Transparency Center lists advertiser "ZOBUT GAMES TEKNOLOJI LIMITED SIRKETI" (AR14526531443292635137, registered in TR, verified), with 17 creatives in total (2026-11-06 pulled via proxy against the Transparency Center API).

- Creative CR09685381368237785089 is a video ad previewing the landing page `com.tinoba`, with 3 versions, **first shown 2026-09-30, last shown 2026-11-01** , meaning paid started three days after launch.

- This creative ran in **138 countries/regions** . Last-shown dates across Africa: Nigeria 10-13, Ghana 10-07, Kenya 10-10, Uganda 10-07, Zimbabwe 10-07, Zambia 10-11, Tanzania 10-11, Côte d'Ivoire 10-13, Cameroon 10-07, Rwanda 10-11, Sierra Leone 10-10, Liberia 10-12, Mozambique 10-11, Botswana 10-12, Namibia 10-13, Eswatini 10-12, Lesotho 10-13, **South Africa right through 10-31** , Egypt to 10-30. Elsewhere: Saudi Arabia 10-15, Indonesia 10-11, Vietnam 10-13, Mexico 10-15, Brazil 10-31, UAE / Malaysia / Germany / France / Poland 11-01. **No US spend.**

- The timing fits: the ads stopped across most African countries on October 7–15, and the install curve flattened from 10-23 to 10-29; South Africa kept running until 10-31, and South Africa is also the only country where it reached the top 100 of SPORTS Top Free (#11-02 74).

- The same account's earlier playbook: AIMatches had 11 video creatives, running from 2026-03-19 to 05-28 (AIMatches launched 2026-03-14, paid started five days later); Gol9 had one, running from 2026-01 to 03; there were also 4 older image ads from 2024-02 to 2025-12. The pattern is clear: **a new package goes on Google App campaigns right after launch, runs for about two months, then gets shut off and the next package takes over.**

- Other channels checked, nothing found:
    - Store search: using the scraper to search "football prediction", "ai football prediction", "correct score", "live score", "ai match analysis" across the ng / za / ke / gh stores, Tinoba doesn't appear in the top 30. The predecessor AIMatches ranks first for "ai match analysis", which is its own name.
    - TikTok (TikHub search for tinoba / aimatches): zero related videos.
    - X (x-radar, last 60 days): zero mentions.
    - Meta Ad Library (metaads): no matching Page, but this library only tracks products on its list, so not finding one doesn't mean no spend.
    - What's findable online is only auto-generated aggregator pages like Softonic, AppBrain, APKPure and Similarweb; no media or influencers have written about it.

### 3. Why users stay and why they pay

Using the scraper, pulled 28 recent Tinoba reviews from the ZA store and 80 AIMatches reviews from the NG store. Reviewers' names and phrasing cluster in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia.

- **Users want betting tips, not scores.** Positive: "Nice prediction app", "100percent prediction", "good app indeed with 70% free bets … VIP I'm coming", "excellent predictions", "Legit Source of odds", "My first time and I have won it". Negative: "no correct score no ht fulltime coupons", "THERE IS NO CORRECT SCORRE OR HT FT", "I did try weekly VIP … waste of money". The app clearly sells VIP, and it shows users past results ("seeing there past games it amazing", "why is the past prediction not showing").

- **The paywall hook is "1 free a day, then want more."** The official FAQ says: "One full AI report a day is free … AI PRO unlocks the full report for every match, live xG and unlimited Ask AI". User reactions: "you guys are stingy at least why not three full accessed tips", "let the free games be two please".

- **Paying is hard in Africa.** AIMatches reviews repeatedly ask for MoMo / mobile wallet payments ("many are not having credit card please … Momo", "introduce mobile money transactions"), and only Google Play billing is available, which blocks part of the paying audience.

- **Scam accusations in the reviews.** AIMatches reviews have plenty of "scam / fake / criminals" complaints, but most 4–5 star ratings still hold (AIMatches is at 1,401/1,914 stars). For this kind of product, retention comes from the feeling of winning a match, and relaunching under a new bundle lets the bad reviews and low ratings stay behind on the old one.

- **The store copy deliberately avoids "betting / predictions."** The Play description says "for entertainment and informational purposes only", and the FAQ specifically says "The only thing you can pay for is the AI PRO membership", calling itself a "sports statistics and analysis app", dressed up as a data and scores app. Users come for betting tips, while the store listing presents a sports data tool; this gets it past review and lets it run Google ads (betting apps need special eligibility to advertise).

### 4. Competitors

| Competitors | Platform | Launched | Scale (googleplay library 2026-11-06) | How it differs from Tinoba |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sofascore / Flashscore / LiveScore / FotMob | Android / iOS | 2010 era | 56M–108M installs | The established scores-and-stats leader, free with ads, doesn't sell tips |
| AiScore - Live Sports Scores | Android | About 2019 | 31.4M | Scores plus AI predictions, two orders of magnitude bigger |
| 11XScore AI Football(HRY Apps) | Android | About 2025-08 | 2.97M, 7 days +64k | Same-type AI predictions, 80× bigger |
| 180Score AI / 360Score AI / TipsPro AI | Android | 2024–2025 | 320k–2.92M | Named simply "Predictions", occupying the search term |
| BetMines / Forebet / TOT Betting Tips | Android | 2016–2022 | 1.14M–7.14M | Openly sells betting tips |
| Correct Score Tips AI Analysis (two Turkish devs), AppScore (Mekait, Turkey), GoScore AI (Melody Yazılım, Turkey) | Android | 2025–2026 | 110k–1.1M | Same kind of small Turkish team, same "AI analysis" packaging, same focus on Africa |
| GoalGPT / MatchIQ / ScoreAI / ScoreMind | Android | 2024–2026 | 90k–220k | The same AI prediction product in a new skin |
| Their own AIMatches / Gol9 | Android | 2026-03 / 2021 | 208k / 490k | Same design as the first two generations; Tinoba adds basketball and a community, and pitches low-end phones |
| ChatGPT / Gemini | Big-company features | — | — | One user in the reviews says "chatgbt even gives more better prediction"; general-purpose AI gives pre-match analysis for free |

Bottom line: this niche is extremely crowded, with dozens of similar apps, several also built by Turkish teams. Within it, Tinoba is small; in the SPORTS new-release (≤200 days) 7-day installs gain, it doesn't make the top 30 (#30 is +32k).

### 5. Differentiation

There's no real functional differentiation. Live tracking, xG, and "AI reads the data and writes commentary" are standard for this kind of app. What it emphasizes:

- Basketball and football in one app;

- Works on low-end phones and slow networks (small install size, light animations, cached data);

- Lists local leagues like Nigeria's NPFL and Ghana's Premier League in its description;

- Framed as "data analysis," not "betting."

None of this is why it's growing. **Growth comes from the playbook** : a new package, Google App campaigns targeting emerging markets, a hook of "one free report a day, the rest by subscription," and swapping the package every two months. Swapping packages has at least three benefits:

1. A new package gets the store's new-release traffic for the first 90 days;

2. Scam complaints and low ratings from the old package don't carry over;

3. You can rewrite the copy to look more "compliant." Tinoba's description drops prediction/betting wording more thoroughly than AIMatches and adds "for entertainment only."

### 6. How visible it is

- Revenue isn't public: it isn't on TrustMRR, no founder shares numbers, and there's no media or X discussion. The official site zobut.com claims "120K+ installs," which understates reality (AIMatches alone has 208k).

- Bottom line: **few people know about it yet** . But the model, "AI football predictions + Africa + subscription," is already being run by many teams, so the opportunity isn't blank space anymore.

### 7. What to learn from it

- **Package-swap matrix** : one backend and content pipeline; every few months, relaunch under a new package name, brand, and copy, start a Google App campaign the same week, and stop after one to two months.

- **Compliant packaging** : demand for betting tips, repackaged as "AI sports data / analysis." Payments go only through Play subscriptions, with "for entertainment only" stated, so Google ads can run.

- **Free allowance as a hook** : 1 full reports a day free, plus a "past record" page, to get users to upgrade to VIP.

- **Market-based pricing** : Play's regional pricing lets low-ARPU markets like Nigeria and South Africa pay for subscriptions; integrating MoMo or local payments could lift conversion (reviews keep asking for it).

### 8. Still unclear

- Ad spend and ROI are unknown. The transparency center only shows dates; EEA impression data wasn't retrieved this time.

- True subscription revenue scale: the bar for a top-150 spot on multi-country SPORTS Top Grossing is low, and the charts are one aggregated list across countries, so no dollar figure can be inferred.

- Daily installs went from 11-02 to 11-03 and back to around 1,300. Unconfirmed whether this reflects new creatives or natural weekend league traffic. The transparency center shows the only creative's most recent impression as 11-01.

- Whether Minfek (Gol9) and Zobut are the same company: the only evidence is that an ad account ran Gol9; company registration wasn't verified.

- Whether Meta / TikTok / Telegram channels are used: our database only tracks a watchlist, so this can't be ruled out.
