Banned-platform actresses, now on video calls elsewhere: India's Titli hit 80k installs in one month
What it is A one-on-one paid video chat and live-streaming app from India. Male users buy coins and pay per minute to video with hosts. It pitches itself as the "official app" of actresses from banned web-series platforms.
Why it took off In 2025 July, India banned Ullu, ALTT and 25 other adult OTT platforms. The developer had been building apps for those same platforms. It repackaged the out-of-work actresses as "her official app" and pushed a concentrated paid-ad burst that got it into India's Social free chart top 100.
CHow you could play it Don't follow the adult-content niche itself. Borrow two moves for a legitimate creator-supply platform: give each creator a searchable portfolio landing page, and tell creators "this is your own app" with a high revenue share so they promote it in their bio.
- Data (updated daily) · first launch 2026-09-29 · 11-07 installs 83,799
Android · Total installs worldwide Data 2026-10-29 → 2026-11-07 (10 days, 10 observations). Google's detail page only refreshes install counts every other day, so a flat day doesn't mean nobody installed.
Titli was listed on Google Play in Sep 29. By Nov 6 it had 84k installs, charting only in India. Functionally it's no different from the many one-on-one paid video chat apps in India: men buy coins and pay per minute to video with female hosts. What sets it apart is who it recruited: actresses from the adult web-series platforms Ullu, ALTT and PrimePlay, which India's government banned in 2025 July, plus a separate search landing page it built for each actress. Below: what it is, where the traffic came from, where the money comes from, and whether you should follow it.
A "Hiral Radadiya web series list" page
Google the name of an adult web-series actress with "web series list" and, alongside the usual film gossip blogs, you'll now find titliapp.com. Open the Hiral Radadiya page and the title reads "Hiral Radadiya Web Series List (16), Instagram | TitliApp". The body is a tidy filmography: she has worked on 11 platforms, 10 of them on Ullu, and her latest is the 2025 show "Biwi Ka Khat". Each title has its year, role and sources (wikibiodata, filmibeat, TMDB, IMDb) and a poster. The footer says "Reviewed by the Titli editorial team · Updated 29 Oct 2026", and the button reads "Open her app". Clicking it opens Titli on Google Play, with utm_source=seo in the link.
titliapp.com/creators lists 46 of these "her official app" pages. Most are actresses from Ullu, PrimePlay, ALTT, Voovi, Hunters, MoodX and similar platforms, plus Poonam Pandey, Sherlyn Chopra and Bigg Boss 18 contestant Aditi Mistry. There are also platform roll-up pages, such as "Creators in Ullu web series – official apps on Titli" (17 people). From the outside, there's no way to tell how many of these people actually joined or actually take calls (unverified). Many pages contain only a filmography assembled from public sources, with no quote from the person.
What it sells
The store listing and the official site describe a full live-streaming app:
- Random 1v1 video matching, or you pick someone and call them. Both video and voice are billed in coins per minute.
- Live-stream PK battles, co-hosting, and 8-mic voice rooms, with Ludo, Carrom and cricket mini-games in the stream.
- The first 7 DMs a day are free, then you pay per message. Women can always message men for free.
- "Celebrities": actresses can post subscriber-only content, set their own DM prices, and open bookable paid one-on-one slots.
9 languages, 18+ countries, and a liveness check before going live. This is essentially the feature list of Chamet and Tango, plus per-minute payment in the style of local Indian app FRND. The features aren't new. What's new is the "Celebrities" section and the people behind it.
Why this particular group of actresses
In 2025 July, India's Ministry of Information and Broadcasting banned 25 OTT platforms over obscenity, including Ullu, ALTT, Desiflix, Big Shots and MoodX (Hindustan Times and Times of India both reported it). The actresses lost their income overnight, and viewers lost where they watched.
Titli's pitch to actresses, on titliapp.com/creatorperks: "your own brand app (titliapp.com/yourname)", "earn up to 95%", "fast withdrawals via UPI or bank card", "₹0 to join", and "put one link in your Instagram bio." The pitch to viewers: video call her, chat with her, watch her live. It moves from "watch her act" to "one-on-one with her in person."
The developer is no outsider. The official site says it is GenZ Philam Entertainment of Noida, also known as Genz IT Solution, which calls itself "India's No.1 OTT platform development company" and runs its own subscription web-series platform, Akku. In other words, it already builds apps for platforms in this scene and knows the actors and the audience.
Something doesn't add up: the developer name on Play is "Titli Apps LTDs," with a personal Gmail contact and a privacy policy hosted on Google Sites. Yet the official site tells users to "verify the developer is GenZ Philam Entertainment before installing." The likely explanation is that it was published under a personal developer account (inferred).
Where users come from
One concentrated paid-ad burst accounts for most of the growth. A third-party estimate (AppstoreSpy) shows about 16 installs in Oct 2,000, a jump of 21k in one day around Oct 17, a total of 27k by Oct 55, and then only a thousand or a few thousand a day after that. On Google Play, Nov brought 6 +83,799,7k in 28.6 days. A shape of sharp spikes followed by decline matches how clone apps in this niche buy traffic, so paid acquisition is the likely cause (inferred. The ad libraries don't show it, but absence there doesn't mean no spend).
SEO is real, but it hasn't kicked in yet. The official sitemap includes 140 English pages, 44 Hindi pages, 22 blog posts and 59 creator pages, plus comparison pages like "Omegle alternative," "Azar alternative" and "Chamet alternative." Most went live after Oct 8. A site a couple of weeks old can't support tens of thousands of installs, and for searches like "[name] web series list" there are already well-established list blogs like ottnonstop and bubblynbold that have been around for years. Titli's own actress pages link to more than a dozen of these.
Hosts recruit their own viewers, on a small scale. On Instagram, some female hosts post "Join me for one to one talk on Titli app, download the aap and send me your username in my inbox," with a first-top-up bonus. Some accounts share titliapp.com/join/ invite links to recruit hosts. The only YouTube review, "Titli — Real or Fake," has 650 views.
No post on X mentions it in 30 days, and no media has covered it.
Where the money comes from, and what's off
The money comes from coins: per-minute calls, gifts, pay-per-message DMs, VIP, and actress subscriptions and paid slots. But the Play listing shows no in-app purchases, and the official FAQ says coins are bought via UPI, bank cards and net banking "through a secure payment gateway." It is likely bypassing Google Play billing, saving 15–30% in commission. The cost is removal risk. Chamet, a similar app, was removed from Play in 2023, and Titli's own comparison page mentions it.
Another odd number: 84k installs, but only 0 ratings and 0 reviews (Google Play, 11-06). Halwa Pro, a similar app, has 62k installs and 3,880 reviews. Either the rating prompt is disabled, or most people who installed it never really used it (inferred).
Revenue isn't visible: payments don't go through Play billing, so it won't appear on the Top Grossing chart, and there's no third-party estimate. On India's social Top Free chart it went from #10-31 to #86,11-02 to #100,11-06 to #106, and it's sliding down.
Who it's competing with
| Competitors | Scale (Google Play, 11-06) | How Titli differs |
|---|---|---|
| FRND | 79.4M installs, #9 on India's Social chart | Voice-first, anonymous hosts, hundreds of times the scale |
| Dostt | 21.9M, #11 | Voice chat for venting and company, no celebrities |
| Chamet / Tango | 78.4M / 387M | Global live streaming plus 1v1 veterans. Titli's features are copied from them. |
| Halwa, Salwa, Milna, Jalwa and other pun-named clone apps | Tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands per app. Halwa Pro 62k, ranked #23 | One template across dozens of apps. No brand, no celebrities. |
| Bandi, Vazuno, MasaCall and other 9–October new apps | 6–200k, +7–3k in 80 days | Launched in the same period, and many grew faster than Titli |
| Mici, Poca, Toki | 200–10M | Chinese-backed video companionship apps that launched last year and have already scaled |
In this table, Titli is just a mid-tier new clone. Its only difference is "named people": rival apps have anonymous hosts, while Titli's supply has names, filmographies and ready-made search demand.
If it were you
Verdict: C. There's one trick worth learning, but copying the whole thing isn't worth it. Its real edge, the actor pool built from banned platforms, came from the developer's years of connections in the web-drama world, which you won't have. What's left is a crowded niche full of clone apps, propped up by paid acquisition and guild streamers, and always one store takedown away from disappearing. It also hasn't proven the trick works on its own: the early climb came from a single push of promotion, 0 reviews, and the ranking is slipping.
Who it fits: companies already running overseas 1v1 video or live streaming with host supply and a paid-acquisition team. Titli shows that named, identifiable supply can set a brand apart from other clone apps.
Who it doesn't fit: solo indie developers and small teams. You can't recruit these actresses; adult content combined with bypassing store billing brings constant risk of removal and payment disputes; and the differentiation depends on resources, not product.
If you want to borrow from it, take these two moves and apply them to a legitimate category:
- Build a searchable landing page for every creator. Fans already search "[name] works list" and "[name] Instagram." Make that page tidier than the gossip blogs (works, platforms, sources), and link it straight to your product. This works for any creator-supply platform: teachers, coaches, craftspeople, independent musicians.
- Tell creators "this is your own app." Give each person a your-domain/name link and a visible high revenue share, so they're willing to put the link in their bio and bring in users for you.
How to acquire users: in a legitimate category, start programmatically with 50–100 creators, and make sure every page has content the person has confirmed (otherwise you get Titli's current problem: a filmography with no sign the person is involved). Then have creators put the link in their Instagram bio and pay them a share of the new users they bring.
When to move early: there is no window here. Actresses from banned platforms won't look for just one app. The contest is about who signs people first, not who lists first.
What would show this read was wrong: ① Titli climbs back up India's Social free chart into the top 50 and starts getting real reviews. That would show celebrity supply plus SEO can sustain itself, and it would be worth re-examining. ② The actresses listed start promoting the Titli link on their own Instagrams. That would mean the supply is real, not just the pages. ③ Conversely, if Google Play removes it within a month or two, the "bypass billing plus adult supply" route is narrower than it looks.

Bottom line
It didn't fully break out. Titli is a new entry in India's 1v1 pay-per-minute video chat category, which was already crowded. It differs from homophone clone networks like Halwa and Bandi in two ways. First, supply: it packages actresses from borderline OTT platforms like Ullu, ALTT and PrimePlay, which India's government banned in July 2025, as "their own official app," then invites them to take paid video calls on Titli. Second, acquisition: the developer, GenZ Philam Entertainment (Noida, originally an outsourced app builder for OTT platforms), built an SEO page for each actress to capture searches like "[actress name] web series list." Its install curve jumped sharply once a day, 19–27 October (about 50k), then ran 1–4 thousand a day. The shape looks more like a concentrated buy or promotion than SEO growing slowly, and rank is also falling.

A few anomalies:
- The Play developer is "Titli Apps LTDs", with a personal Gmail [email protected]. The same email also published a "LinkedIn Emails Extractor" extension on the Chrome Web Store (listing a +91 phone number). The privacy policy is hosted on sites.google.com. The official site, however, names the developer as GenZ Philam Entertainment (Noida Sector-75 Spectrum Metro), and tells users to "verify the developer is GenZ Philam Entertainment before installing," which doesn't match the Play name. Likely it was published under a personal developer account, or the account belongs to an outsourced developer.
- The store description says "All purchases are billed securely through Google Play," while the official site says UPI / gateway payment, and Play shows no in-app purchases. It likely bypasses Play billing, saving the 15–30% cut, but carries removal risk (Chamet was pulled from Play in 2023, and Titli's own comparison page mentions it).
- The [email protected] address in the store description doesn't resolve. The domain actually in use is titliapp.com.
2. What the product is
Features listed on the store page and titliapp.com/features:
- Match randomly pairs you with 1v1 video (with free time-limited Match tickets); Explore lets you browse and then call. Video and voice both deduct coins per minute.
- Live: PK (1v1, random, team battles), up to 3 guest co-hosts, paid entry; 8-seat voice rooms; 9 mini-games playable during live (Carrom, Ludo, cricket, etc.).
- DMs: the first 7 messages per day are free, then charged per message. Messages from women to men are always free; messages to hosts are free during VIP.
- Bites short video: a female host posts a Bite that passes a real-face check and earns 5 coins; sharing it that brings new opens earns 5 more.
- Celebrities: creators picked by the team can post subscriber-only content, set their own DM prices, and open bookable Private Sessions (paid one-on-one time slots).
- 9 languages (English, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Gujarati, Urdu, Arabic); 18+; liveness check required before going live.
The feature set is basically the full kit of global live-streaming apps like Chamet and Tango (PK, voice rooms, games, host revenue share), plus FRND-style pay-per-minute calls. The features aren't new. It's thicker than the white-label Halwa-style templates that only do 1v1 calls.
3. The real difference: "official apps for borderline OTT actresses" plus SEO
- titliapp.com/creators lists 46 "official apps on Titli", each creator with a titliapp.com/<name> page (creators.xml in the sitemap has 59 URLs, including roundup pages by platform). Most are actresses from platforms like Ullu, PrimePlay, ALTT, Voovi, Hunters, MoodX and Jalva (Hiral Radadiya, Jayshree Gaikwad, Kamalika Chanda, Jonita D Cruz, Ayushi Bhowmick and others), plus Poonam Pandey, Sherlyn Chopra, and Bigg Boss 18 contestant Aditi Mistry.
- Roundup pages by platform: "Creators in Ullu web series – official apps on Titli" (17 people), plus web-series pages for altt-, primeplay-, primeshots-, voovi-, hunters- and others. Each actress page is titled like "XX Web Series List (16), Instagram | TitliApp", listing the full filmography (sourced to IMDb, TMDB, wikibiodata and others), posters and bio, ending with "Open her app" and a Play download link (utm_source=seo, utm_medium=creator_page).
- Timing: in July 2025, India's Ministry of Information and Broadcasting banned 25 OTT platforms for obscene content, including Ullu, ALTT, Desiflix, Big Shots and MoodX (Hindustan Times and Times of India both reported it). These actresses lost their income, and their viewers lost somewhere to watch. Titli offers creators "up to 95% revenue share, UPI or bank instant withdrawal, your own branded app (titliapp.com/yourname), 0 to join" (titliapp.com/creatorperks). For viewers, it offers "video call her, chat with her, watch her live."
- The developer has ready-made resources: GenZ Philam Entertainment also goes by Genz IT Solution (genzitsolution.com, Instagram @genzitsolution), calls itself "#1 OTT Platform Development Company in India," and runs a subscription web-series OTT called Akku (akkuott.com/about-us says it is owned by Genz Philam Entertainment). So it was already in the borderline web-series circle and has actress and industry connections.
- Unverified whether each of these actresses actually joined and actually takes calls. The image-license page claims creators uploaded their own photos with consent, but many pages are assembled from public filmography databases, and some actress pages contain only a filmography and no words from the person.
So the difference from similar apps is not the features. It's supply and traffic entry: similar apps rely on anonymous hosts and paid acquisition; Titli relies on "named, searchable borderline actresses," plus programmatic SEO targeting their names.
4. Competitors

5. Acquisition channels and evidence
- Programmatic SEO by actresses and platforms (confirmed): titliapp.com's sitemap has English pages 140, Hindi pages 44, blog posts 22, and creator pages 59; most pages were published in 2026-10-08, and creator pages went live between 10-15 and 10-22. Besides actress pages, there are "alternative" comparison pages for Omegle, OmeTV, Azar, Chamet, Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge, plus keyword pages like "Hindi video chat". Every download button carries utm_source=titliapp_seo or utm_source=seo. Actress page titles follow the "XX web series list" search pattern (these pages show up in Exa and Jina search results).
- Female hosts and creators recruit on Instagram themselves (confirmed, small scale): an Instagram post reads "Join me for one to one talk on Titli app, download the aap and send me your username in my inbox #titli #newapp" (@addyatsedeofficial), with a caption about "extra bonus coins on first top-up"; there's also @mrinal.bollywood (Instagram labels the avatar as AI-generated), who posted on 11-04 a referral link titliapp.com/join/ROYA55TG with the caption "Want to participate time work join", recruiting hosts. The creatorperks page directly tells creators to "put the link in your Instagram bio."
- Referral codes / invite rewards (confirmed mechanism): the official site says "Inviting friends can bring referral rewards in coins"; sharing on Bites rewards you with coins for each new open.
- Paid acquisition (inferred, unconfirmed): AppstoreSpy shows roughly 35k added in the four days from 10-19 to 10-23 (10-21 alone +17k), then a quick drop back to 1–4k a day, with rank falling from #86 to #106. This on/off curve matches how Halwa and Bandi were pushed. The SEO pages only went live 10-08, so they couldn't have brought tens of thousands of installs in two weeks. The metaads library shows no Titli ads (it only tracks advertisers on its list, so absence doesn't mean none were run).
- YouTube review: "Titli — Live Video Chat and calls App Real or Fake" (BoBo Bro, 650 views, posted about two weeks ago), a small audience.
- None found: x-radar shows only 0 results for "Titli app" and "titliapp" over 30 days; no media coverage; TikTok is banned in India, so it's not relevant; the Reddit thread on "Titli scam" is about a different e-commerce company with the same name.
6. Why it broke out (and what didn't)
- What worked: 84k installs and a top-100 spot on India's SOCIAL free chart. Mainly because it runs on a high-ARPU model that's already been proven (male users paying per minute and female host video), with a distinctive supply hook: actresses from banned OTT platforms, who have names, filmographies, existing fans, and search volume. Add one concentrated push of paid traffic.
- What didn't: its install pace is only mid-tier among new packages from the same period (Bandi, Vazuno, and Halwa Pro all moved faster); its rank is sliding; 0 ratings from 0 reviews suggest real activity and word of mouth haven't shown up yet; there's no Top Grossing signal (and it likely doesn't route payments through Play, so Top Grossing wouldn't show it anyway).
7. Visibility
Few people know about it yet. No media coverage, no discussion on X, no public revenue, just one YouTube review with 650 views and scattered Instagram posts. APK sites (CNET Download, Softonic) have indexed it, which is automatic.
8. Takeaways
- Use real celebrity and semi-celebrity supply to set a companion app apart from the sea of copycats. Especially creators who lost their platforms after a regulatory event (banned actresses, throttled hosts): they bring fans and search volume with them.
- Build one SEO page per creator (filmography, platform, Instagram), capture high-frequency long-tail searches like "X web series list / Instagram", and route each page to the app download.
- Pitch creators on "your own branded app" with a high revenue share, so they're willing to promote your link from their own bio.
- Collect payments through a UPI gateway to sidestep Play's commission (you have to assess the compliance risk yourself).
9. Still unclear
- How many of the listed actresses have actually joined, are taking calls, and are promoting Titli on their own Instagram (I didn't check each Instagram bio).
- Whether the sharp jump from 10-19 to 10-27 came from paid ads, celebrity posts, or referral chains.
- Revenue: it doesn't go through Play billing, so Top Grossing can't see it, and I found no third-party estimate.
- What the relationship is between the Play account "Titli Apps LTDs / dkdeepeshkumar5" and GenZ Philam; why 84k installs still show only a 0 rating (possibly the rating prompt is disabled, or most installs come from users who never open it, such as incentivized or paid-acquisition installs).
- How big the risk is of Google delisting an app that bypasses Play billing and carries risqué supply.
