The 'adult webtoon' with a teen rating: a crew using a Polish company front keeps opening ToonHub on Google Play, one after another
What it is A reskinned webtoon reader that borrows the name of the adult AI webtoon brand 'Toon Hub' from the web. The store page is clean and rated teen, but the content is adult, and payment happens outside the store via credit card.
Why it took off It didn't really: 574 installs, zero ratings. Whatever traffic it got comes from Google Play's very low bar for the comics category charts (17 installs was enough to rank #21 in the UK) plus searches for the Toon Hub brand name. A sibling shell run by the same group reached 36.5k installs with the same playbook.
DHow you could follow this Don't copy the borrowed names, sock-puppet accounts, or off-store payments. What's worth learning: pick low-bar niche categories to get exposure, and look for content brands that are popular on the web and TikTok but have no official app on Play, then meet that demand with licensed content or a distribution deal.
- Data (updated daily) · first launch 2026-10-20 · 11-03 installs 574

ToonHub: Webtoon & Comics is a webtoon reader that went live on Google Play in Oct 20. By Nov 3 it had 574 installs, no ratings, and only charted for a few days on the UK comics free chart. It never took off on its own. What's worth looking at is the playbook behind it: borrow the name of an adult webtoon brand with a few hundred thousand TikTok followers, open developer accounts under a borrowed Polish company identity, and when one shell gets banned, open another. The best-performing shell in the same playbook reached #6 on the US comics free chart in Nov 3.
A one-star review saying 'this is porn'
On Oct 2026 18, a user named jf paquette left a one-star review on the Toonhub: Premium Comics store page: "The content is explicit porn. Some works have censored versions, but calling it 'comics' is misleading. The rating says teen, with no warning about explicit content." The same day there was a shorter one: "Bro it's a p*rn." Two days later, Oct 20: "You can only read episode 1 of each story; to read more you have to pay." Earlier, Sep 21: "My credit card got attached and I can't delete it, and I can't find a way to cancel the subscription."
Toonhub: Premium Comics and this article's ToonHub: Webtoon & Comics are two apps on two different developer accounts, but from the package names, emails, and website templates, it's clearly the same group (details below). This one is the newest shell the group opened, in Oct 20.
What it is
The store page is clean: a reading app for "discovering premium comics, webtoons, and illustrated stories," with genres like romance, drama, fantasy, mystery, slice of life, and action. Rated teen, no ads, no in-app purchases on Play. Version 1.0, with no updates since launch. The package is only about 5.46 MB (per AppBrain), which looks more like a thin shell, likely wrapping a web page.
The store page says nothing about this, but reviews of sibling apps reveal the reality: the content is adult, you have to pay after one episode, and payment is by credit card, not through Google Play. The app has no in-app purchases yet collects subscription fees, so the money must be collected on an external web page opened inside the app (an inference, not verified by installing it).
The name is borrowed
"Toon Hub" is an existing web brand. toon-hub.com is operated by HUBB TECH CORP, a company registered in Delaware, USA. Its terms of service say the content "includes content made with generative AI", users must be 18 or older, and it charges through subscriptions and coins. The same company runs several mirror sites that carry US adult-content compliance statements. Its TikTok account @toonhubcomics has 113k followers, 2.01M likes, and 300+ videos. In November 5 and 6 it was still posting daily short-drama-style webtoon clips, and the profile link tells users to "open in browser" (see 11-06).
The brand creates demand on TikTok every day, but has no official Android app. Someone sees a video, searches "ToonHub" on Google Play, and finds these shells. The sibling HoneyToon: Read Premium Comics uses the same idea, riding on another adult webtoon site, honeytoon.com.
From the outside, it's unclear how these shells relate to HUBB TECH or Honeytoon. They could be the brands' own distribution channels, affiliate partners earning referral commissions, or impostors using the names to run paywalls. The store pages, privacy policies, and websites don't mention either company (unverified).
One operator, many shells
| App | Developer account | Launched | Scale (Google Play, 11-06) |
|---|---|---|---|
| ToonHub: Webtoon & Comics (this article) | 7ZMYSŁÓW | 2026-10-20 | 574 installs, dropped off all comics charts after 11-04 |
| Toonhub: Premium Comics | Luxe or car | 2026-09-10 | 36.5k installs, 7 day +9,717; #3 on US and UK comics free charts, #2 in Australia and Canada, charting in 16 countries; rating 3.0 (46 reviews) |
| HoneyToon: Read Premium Comics | Magnusholding | 2026-09-24 | 7,277 installs, #12 on the Germany comics free chart |
| ToonHub: Comics & Webtoon | WTF Parts | Not verified | Had 50k+ downloads; the US store page no longer loads 11-06 |
The shells share almost the same fingerprint:
- Deliberately misspelled package names: toonhuuub, comicsss, honeyytoon, premiumsss, webbtoon, comicks, apparently to dodge package-name duplicate checks.
- Emails all follow the pattern "Polish first name + a few digits @gmail.com," and privacy policies are hosted on Google Sites.
- Developer accounts use Polish company names, and the profiles describe car businesses: 7ZMYSŁÓW says "car rental and fleet services"; Luxe or car says "vehicle and machinery trade." Both companies' websites are fake corporate sites built on the same template, with the page title "Dom" (Polish for "home"), and customer testimonials from invented names like "Paweł Smith" and "Sara Perry."
- The real companies don't match: a company called 7ZMYSŁÓW sp. z o.o. does exist in the Polish business register, incorporated in October 2023, but it actually sells sensory-integration training equipment for children, not car rental. This looks like a borrowed or bought company identity (inference).
- Each account first publishes a cover app: under 7ZMYSŁÓW there is a shift-scheduling calculator called ShiftCalc, and under Luxe or car there is a StageKit, both unrelated to comics.
Why go through all this (inference): since November 2023, Google has required new individual developer accounts to run a closed test with 12 people for 14 days before publishing, but organization accounts don't need this. Registering under a company identity gets an organization account, which publishes faster, and a normal utility app is released first to age the account. When one shell gets banned, you only lose that one. The WTF Parts shell is already unreachable, and this one went live in Oct 20.
Where the traffic comes from
The comics category charts have an absurdly low bar. In Oct 29, this app had only 17 installs in total and still ranked #21 on the UK comics free chart. That chart has only about thirty-odd spots, and in Nov 6 the app at the bottom had barely passed 4,000 installs (Google Play charts). A new app gets almost free exposure here.
Brand-name search. The title is literally ToonHub, riding on search traffic from a brand with 110k TikTok followers. There's no search ranking data for this, so it's an inference, but the sibling Toonhub: Premium Comics reached 36.5k installs with the same name, which shows people are searching for it.
Doesn't look like paid acquisition. Installs went from 10-31 to 17,11-01 to 265,11-03 to 574, which looks like batched campaigns. But the sibling Toonhub: Premium Comics also gains thousands a day and then reads 0 the next, which fits Play refreshing install counts only every other day. Meta and TikTok (Europe) ad libraries show no advertisers for these brands. Not finding ads doesn't mean none were run.
Reviews may have been steered. Many five-star reviews on the sibling app are long, template-sounding praise ("Toonhub is a great app for comic lovers! It offers an enjoyable way to explore premium comics, webtoons, romance stories, and manhwa…"), mixed in with one-star reviews like "won't open," "it's porn," and "pay after one episode." Whether they're fake is unverified.
Who it's competing with
| Product | Launched | Scale (Google Play installs, 11-06) | How it differs |
|---|---|---|---|
| WEBTOON | 2014 | 194M | Big legit platforms, free with paid chapters |
| Toomics - Read Premium Comics | 2018 | 7.17M, #5 on the France comics bestseller chart | Licensed adult webtoons with Play in-app purchases; the 'Premium Comics' term is what made it popular |
| MangaMuse / MangaNest | 2026-06 | 788k / 327k, each gaining over 100k in 7 days | A different group, riding the AceToon and QToon names, with two orders of magnitude more volume |
| INKtoon | 2026-04 | 40.4k | Similar small shells |
| A batch of readers riding the names of pirate sites that were shut down | 2026-08/09 | A few hundred to 120k | Riding names like Mangadex, Bato, and Weeb Central; mostly ad-funded |
It isn't competing with WEBTOON for users. It's competing with a large group of shells that also borrow names and the low bar of the category charts for the same search terms and chart spots. And within that group, it started latest and has the smallest volume.
If it were you
Verdict: Worth knowing about, not worth following. The volume you can get is tiny (the best shell in this group has only 36k installs), and every link holding it up (borrowing other brands' names, borrowed company identities, adult content labeled teen, getting around Google payments) is explicitly prohibited by Play. Shells last weeks, and one has already been pulled.
Who it suits: teams already running multi-account matrices on Play and expecting bans, who can use the two points "a comics category chart spot takes only a few dozen installs" and "web brands with no official app" as reference.
Who it doesn't suit: indie developers trying to build a product that lasts; anyone unwilling to touch trademarks and adult-content compliance; anyone without a stock of spare developer accounts.
How to do it (the compliant version): Only two things are worth borrowing. First, pick low-bar niche categories to publish in, since a new app can chart with a few dozen or a few hundred installs. Second, look for content brands or categories that are popular on the web and running TikTok ads constantly but have no official Play app. Meet that demand with your own licensed content, or approach the web platform directly about an Android distribution deal.
How to acquire users: For a legitimate approach, TikTok clips from these brands are the acquisition template: short-drama-style webtoon clips, a cliffhanger that stops on the paywall frame, and a profile link that leads to the app.
Timing: The window for the gray version depends on when Google bans this batch of accounts, which could happen any time. The compliant version has no time pressure, but only if you have content or can license it.
Signs this read is wrong: ① This shell or Toonhub: Premium Comics lasts three months and installs climb into the hundreds of thousands. That would mean Play cleans up these shells more slowly than assumed, and the volume is bigger than it looks. ② HUBB TECH or Honeytoon publicly claims these apps. That would mean they are the brands' own distribution channels, and the "borrowed name" judgment falls apart. What's worth learning then is how a web brand spreads across Play with multiple apps. ③ Someone uses licensed content and the same low bar on the comics charts to reach hundreds of thousands of installs. That would mean the compliant version has more opportunity than described here.

Why ToonHub: Webtoon & Comics (com.toonhuuub.webtoons.comicsss) showed up at all
Bottom line: it didn't break out. As of 11-03 it had 574 installs worldwide, no rating, and only held 21–34 in the UK COMICS Top Free. What matters is that it's the newest shell in a clone network. The playbook: register developer accounts under Polish company names, park a utility app as cover, then publish a webtoon reader whose title carries a web adult-webtoon brand name like "Toonhub" or "HoneyToon." It counts on the low bar of the COMICS category chart and on people searching the brand name. The best performer in the family, Toonhub: Premium Comics, only reached 36.5k installs.

offers_iap=False), listed as ad-free. Developer email [email protected], privacy policy on sites.google.com, no website listed in the store. - The "stepped paid acquisition" theory is probably wrong. The sibling Toonhub: Premium Comics shows the same pattern day to day: an increase on one day, a flat day the next (0 10-31 +1,447, 11-01 0, 11-02 0, 11-03 +4,015, 11-04 0…). That looks more like Play refreshing installs every other day than staged buying. Averaged out, it's about 150 installs a day.

2. The family: one operator, many shells

|---|---|---|---|---|

ToonHub: Comics & Webtoon com.toonhubcomicks.webbtoonapps | WTF Parts | Not verified | Recall card says 50k+; 11-06 US store page already 404 | Website toonhub.live |
The shells' fingerprints are nearly identical:
- Package names: deliberate repeated letters and misspelled words (toonhuuub / comicsss / honeyytoon / premiumsss / webbtoon / comicks). This is an attempt to dodge package-name dedup and link detection.
- Emails: all "Polish first name + 4 digits @gmail.com" (pankracyzaremba3451, metodyniedzwiecki2621, wojciechprzybylski441). Privacy policies all sit on sites.google.com.
- Developer accounts: named after Polish companies, with a Polish-language bio describing car businesses (7ZMYSŁÓW describes "car rental and fleet services"; Luxe or car describes "vehicle and machinery trade"). The sites 7zmyslow.live and luxeormotors.online are fake corporate pages built from one template: the page title is "Dom" on both, both have a Lacznosc.html page, images are named chrome_xxxx.png, and the reviews come from made-up names like "Paweł Smith" and "Sara Perry."
- The real companies don't match: the Polish business register does list 7ZMYSŁÓW sp. z o.o. (KRS 0001063205,2023-10, incorporated), but its actual business is sensory-integration classroom equipment (sklep-integracja-sensoryczna.pl / rejestr.io / tracxn), which doesn't match the "car rental" in the developer bio. Our guess is a borrowed or purchased company identity. Unverified.
- Cover apps: each account first publishes an unrelated tool (ShiftCalc shift-scheduling calculator, StageKit), then the comics reader.
- Product sites: toonhub.live and toonhub.world each carry only one line: "…is a group of talented and innovative young developers."
Why do it this way (inferred): Since 2023-11, Google has required new individual developer accounts to recruit 12 testers for a 14-day closed test before publishing. Organization accounts skip that step. Registering under a company identity and adding a cover app gets listings up fast, and losing a shell costs only one shell. That's why they keep opening new ones. The WTF Parts shell was 404,10-20 and this card came after it.
3. What it actually sells: riding a web adult-webtoon brand
- "Toon Hub" is an existing web brand. toon-hub.com is run by HUBB TECH CORP (Delaware, 251 Little Falls Drive). Its terms of service state that content is "produced with generative AI," users must be 18 or older, and it charges through subscriptions and Coins. The same company runs mirror sites like toon-comics.org and toonza.com, which carry a 18 U.S.C. 2257 exemption notice, meaning adult content. Its TikTok @toonhubcomics has 113k followers, 2.01M likes and 326 videos. 11-05 and 11-06 still post daily short-drama-style clips, and the profile link unlockmy.link tells users to "open in browser." Instagram @toonhubcomics has 2,320 followers.
- "HoneyToon" is also an existing brand. honeytoon.com is run by Honeytoon LLC (Dover, Delaware). It's a web-subscription adult webtoon site. Its TikTok @honeytoon_co has single videos with 200k+ plays, and Trustpilot shows 922 reviews.
- On Play, these shells capture searches for those two brand names. The store copy is clean, reading only "premium comics / romance / drama," with a teen rating. But reviews on the sibling Toonhub: Premium Comics tell the real story:
- "the material is explicitly pornographic … giving it a teen rating and no warnings" (10-18,1 star)
- "Bro it's a p*rn" "adult app! sick"
- "You only can see 1 Ep then … you must pay a fee" "you got to buy a VIP right away"
- "my credit card can't be removed … doesn't give me an option to delete my subscription" (09-21)
The app doesn't use Play in-app purchases, yet users have credit-card subscriptions tied to it, which means payment runs through an external web checkout. That sidesteps Google's cut and content review. The same reviews also include long, templated 5-star praise ("Toonhub is a great app for comic lovers! It offers an enjoyable way to explore premium comics, webtoons, romance stories, and manhwa…"), which looks incentivized or bought.
- Still unclear: whether these Play shells are distribution channels run by HUBB TECH or Honeytoon themselves, affiliates paid on CPA to send them traffic, or impersonators using the brand names to run their own paywalls. HUBB TECH doesn't appear on the store page, privacy page or website, and we haven't installed the app to see which site it actually loads.

5. Growth channel breakdown
| Channel | Evidence | Confirmed? |
|---|---|---|
| Exposure on the COMICS category chart | 17 installs was enough to land #21 on the UK COMICS free chart, a chart with only about 34 spots (googleplay chart_rank) | Confirmed |
| Store search: brand term "ToonHub" | The title uses Toon Hub, the web brand name, which has 110k TikTok followers continuously generating demand; sibling apps Toonhub: Premium and HoneyToon do the same | Inferred, no search ranking data |
| Multi-account matrix | 4 shells, all under Polish company names, with the same naming pattern for emails, templates, and package IDs | Confirmed |
| Paid acquisition | Neither the Meta ad library nor the TikTok (Europe) ad library shows any advertisers related to toonhub or honeytoon; the installs "step" pattern is likely caused by Play refreshing every other day | No |
| Incentivized or fake ratings | The sibling apps' reviews include a batch of templated long-form reviews, 5 stars | Not verified |
| TikTok / X content | x-radar found 0 results for "toonhub" in the past 60 days; the @toonhubcomics account on TikTok is the web brand's account, and no push for the Play app was seen | No |
6. Differentiation
The product has no real differentiation: a templated reader shell with interchangeable store copy. The real "edge" is operational: (1) it claimed a web adult-webtoon brand name that has TikTok demand but no official Android app; (2) it used organization accounts as cover to get around the new-account barrier and mass-produce shells; (3) on Play it keeps only a clean storefront, with the actual content and payments kept off-platform. For this card, these tactics haven't yet produced scale; the sibling Toonhub: Premium Comics used the same playbook to reach 36k installs and chart in 16 countries' COMICS charts, showing the playbook can get volume, but at a small scale.
7. Visibility and copycats
- Still largely unknown. No media coverage, 0 posts on X, and no public revenue figures.
- Copycats: it is itself a copycat within the matrix. More shells named "XXToon: Premium Comics" are appearing (HoneyToon, Toonhub Premium, the WTF Parts ToonHub), and another crew (MangaMuse, MangaNest) is doing the same thing at a bigger scale.
8. Takeaways
- The bar for small categories (COMICS) is low enough that a few dozen installs can chart, so a new app looking for launch exposure can pick a category like this.
- Look for brands or categories where there's demand on the web but no official app on Play, and use the title to catch search. The compliant route is to make your own legitimate content or partner with the web platform for distribution.
- Web subscriptions and off-store billing can avoid the 30% commission, but they violate Play's payment and adult-content policies, carry a very high risk of account bans, and this playbook is essentially disposable. Do not copy the non-compliant parts.
9. Still uncertain
- What content the app actually loads, and whether it redirects to toon-hub.com or honeytoon.com for payment (not verified by installing).
- What the relationship is with HUBB TECH CORP and Honeytoon LLC: official channel, affiliate referral, or impersonation.
- Whether the 7ZMYSŁÓW and Luxe or car accounts are using the identity of a real Polish company.
- The installs after 11-03 (it dropped off the tracked charts), and the Slovakia chart #4 entry has also not been verified.
- Whether the WTF Parts package was taken down or is just not visible in the US store.
