Tschillie: Dating, Chat & Date · Tschillie

# 45k installs, ranked #25 on France's dating Top Grossing: Tschillie is an old German business in a Tinder face

**What it is** A French dating app that looks like Tinder but charges per message in tokens, and its terms state that accounts run by the platform itself take part in chats.

**Why it took off** A small group of male users get hooked on chats and keep buying token packs, so spend per payer is very high. It picked the French market, where there is less competition, packaged itself like a legit dating app, and has run Meta ads since May 2026.

**C** **What you can take from it** Don't copy the fake profiles. What's worth borrowing is the approach: be upfront that the chat is AI or host-run and paid, pick a smaller-language market where the Top Grossing bar is lower, run one native-language ad copy on Meta for a long time, and use Instagram daily codes to bring back paying users.

C grade: there's something to learn about getting onto a chart in a small market through high spend per payer, but the core is opaque paid chat, with serious legal and reputation risk. Transparent versions already exist in German-speaking markets (a dozen-plus players), white-label systems are for sale, and France already has HERZY following suit. Few people know about it yet

Data (updated daily) · first launch 2026-03-15 · 11-07 installs 45,402

Android · Total installs worldwide

Data 2026-10-29 → 2026-11-07 (10 days, 10 observations). Google's detail page only refreshes install counts every other day, so a flat day doesn't mean nobody installed.

A French dating app with only 45k installs on Google Play sits at #24 to #26 on France's dating Top Grossing chart, ahead of established products with installs two orders of magnitude larger. What it sells isn't matches but per-message chat, and some of the people chatting back are accounts run by the platform. This business has run in Germany for twenty years, and it's worth understanding how it works in France, but I'd advise against copying the core part.

### One review: "Énorme arnaque"

In Oct 2026 14, a French user gave Tschillie 1 stars on Trustpilot under the title "Énorme arnaque" (a complete scam). He wrote: paying for every message was already hard to accept; worse, "all the profiles are fake, absurdly fake." He signed up for several accounts and never got a date. "The replies are always the same, smooth and polite, but every profile gets the same reply."

Three days earlier, another user titled theirs "CE N'EST QUE DE L'IA !!" (it's all AI). Going further back, Aug 26: "Tons of fake female profiles, very convincing, working for the platform, with the job of getting you to use its paid messages. The moment you try to move to text or WhatsApp, they either ignore you or turn nasty."

On Trustpilot the app has 14 reviews averaging 2.9, with 57% at 1 stars and the rest at 5 stars (11-06). Meanwhile on the App Store France storefront it's rated 4.76 from 939 ratings, and on Google Play France it's 4.5. The two sides sound like they're describing two different products.

### What it really is: the terms say so

Tschillie is run by Maroon Innovations LTD, based on the Maltese island of Gozo. In the store it looks like a Tinder-style dating app: brand tagline "find your fire 🌶️", with Connect (mutual likes lead to a match), Browse (browse people nearby), and "Double Spice" (a poke). The iOS version launched in Nov 24 2025, listed under Lifestyle rather than Dating.

What really gives it away is a section of the website terms called "Moderators". The original reads: "Moderators may engage in chat interactions through accounts operated by Tschillie… These accounts are not private individuals and do not represent genuine independent users of the Community." In other words, accounts run by the platform chat with you, and they are not real users. The terms give safety, customer service, and testing as the reasons.

The billing is spelled out in the terms too: sending a message costs 4 tokens, and 250 characters over the limit cost 8 extra tokens; "Double Spice" costs 2 tokens; Connect gives 10 free rounds a day, after which every 10 rounds cost 5 tokens. Tokens are sold in packs: on iOS 7.99 to 84.99 euros (tiers called Éclat, Flamme, Brasier, Volcan), on Play 7.49 to 79.99 dollars.

German-speaking markets already have a name for this: Moderatoren-Chat, "moderator chat". In 2018 the German consumer organization vzbv counted 187 dating sites using fake profiles (reported by heise.de), and state consumer centers still host pages explaining how to spot fake profiles run by "moderators". Phrasing in Tschillie's terms like "the right of withdrawal expires once delivery begins" also reads like a translation from German terms (inference).

### 45k installs, how does it get onto the chart?

On Google Play, Tschillie has 11-06 global installs cumulatively, 45,402, with 7 new in the last 1,912 days, roughly two or three hundred a day. That pace has been steady since June: third-party pages showed "5,000+" in late June and "10,000+" by late July. From 10-29 to 11-06 it charted every day: Dating top grossing #24–26 and top free #28–32 in France, top free Dating #50–68 in Germany (Google Play charts).

On the same day, the French Top Grossing neighbors were Turn Up (4.22M installs), Linduu (2.85M), and OkCupid (51.2M). The installs differ by two orders of magnitude, yet the revenue ranks are close. That can only mean one thing: few people pay, but each payer pays a lot.

The math isn't hard. A male user who gets hooked on chat might send dozens of messages a day, which is a couple hundred tokens. The smallest pack is 7.99 euros, the largest 84.99 euros. A few hundred heavy users like that is enough to push an app with 45k installs to around #25 on France's dating Top Grossing (estimate). The App Store reviews with substance complain about exactly this: "tokens are too expensive", "she replies, but I have to pay to reply back", "why isn't there a monthly plan?"

Outside estimates of its actual revenue are unreliable. The third-party estimator Peekly's page title says "about $5k/month", while the body says "$30k–97k over the last 126 days". The two figures contradict each other, so don't trust either.

### Where users come from: Meta ads, running since May

User acquisition is almost entirely Facebook and Instagram ads. 11-06 Searching "tschillie" in the Meta Ad Library, the first page shows 19 live ads: 10 started running on 2026-05-09, 4 on 05-10,1, 05-12,3 on 07-24,1, 10-30. All use the same French copy, "Rejoins, Connecte & Ressens l'appartenance" (Join, Connect & Feel belonging), with both images and videos. Peekly logged 27–29 live ads. The start dates match the steady two-to-three hundred new Play installs per day we've seen since June.

Other channels are largely empty: Google and TikTok ad libraries show nothing for it; a TikTok search for "tschillie" finds 0 videos, and X shows 0 posts in the past year.

The Instagram account @tschillieeu has only about 1,600 followers and 114 posts, but nearly every post is a "Code du jour" (daily code) valid for 48 hours and usable once, redeemed by asking customer service in the app (inferred to give free tokens). This isn't acquisition; it's getting people who already paid to come back every day and talk to "customer service".

The store ratings are probably managed too (inference): of the latest 50 App Store France reviews, most are 5-star reviews of one or two words like "Top", "Bien", or "Super appli". A high rating makes it more likely to be tapped when someone searches "rencontre" in the store.

### Why France

The model's home base is German-speaking markets, where a dozen-plus similar apps sit on the German dating chart. France's chart has far fewer of them, just the French editions of veteran German-speaking players like Linduu, Justlo, and yoomee. Tschillie went to France first (iOS 2025-11, Play as late as 2026-03), then only reached the German iOS store in 2026-08-24, and got into the top 100 of German Lifestyle Top Grossing in 10-31.

Its real difference from German peers isn't the features but the packaging and disclosure:

| Product | Scale (Google Play, 11-06) | How Tschillie differs |
|---|---|---|
| yoomee (German mobile Trend) | 6.27M installs, #6 on German dating Top Free, #30 on French Top Grossing | A veteran "flirt chat" that has existed since 2019, and got to France early |
| Linduu / Justlo(Justlin Limited) | 2.85M / 1.84M + 1.13M, #20 and #25 on French Top Grossing | Same-model veteran with a French edition that doesn't look like a new-style dating app |
| Viluu (Berlin's We2Gether) | 850k, #9 on German Top Grossing | Terms explicitly say "pure entertainment platform, fictional profiles", and the profiles are marked with hearts |
| Bettdeckengeflüster | 62k, #22 on German Top Grossing | Similar scale; terms say "all female profiles should be treated as run by moderators"; Germany only |
| HERZY / French edition ÉPRIS (Cyprus's SOLVICO) | 16k, about +1,985 in the last 7 days, #32 on French Top Grossing | Launched 2026-09-15, targeting France at the same time; a terms section is literally titled "fictional profiles" |
| ZumDaten / iSingles / Hellovy | 15k / 130k / 110k, on German and Italian Top Grossing | Several apps share one white-label terms text ("10 tokens per message") |
| Tinder / Hinge / Meetic / Badoo / happn | Tens of millions to hundreds of millions, top 8 on French Top Grossing | Real users plus subscriptions; Tschillie copies their look |

Under pressure from consumer organizations, German peers have grown used to writing "fictional profiles, entertainment service" into their terms. Tschillie writes the same thing as "moderators join chats for safety and customer service" and presents itself externally as a clean, modern dating app. New users rarely see through it at a glance, which is why it converts well in France and has high ratings, and also why it's the most fragile part of the operation.

### Who's following, and can you?

Followers already exist, and in batches. HERZY / ÉPRIS entered France in September, adding about as many users a week as Tschillie. ZumDaten, iSingles, and Hellovy use the same terms text, which means the back-end system and moderator outsourcing can be bought off the shelf. The barrier to entry for this business has never been technical.

The parts that are worth learning and are legitimate:

- **Low installs with high spend per payer can still chart.** The bar on France's and Germany's dating Top Grossing is lower than you'd think; a few hundred heavy payers is enough to reach the top 30.

- **One ad line on Meta for half a year.** Ads started in May are still running in November, which suggests the unit economics work.

- **List under iOS Lifestyle.** Avoiding the head of the Dating category gives a better chart position.

- **Instagram daily time-limited codes.** A cheap way to win back paying users, usable by any token-based product.

- **Pick one language first, then expand to adjacent markets.** Prove it in France, then move it to Germany.

What you shouldn't copy is the core: using platform-run accounts to chat with male users, charging per message, and not saying so. In the EU this runs into rules on unfair commercial practices, and France has a consumer protection body, the DGCCRF. Apple and Google are also reviewing dating apps more and more strictly. Between that string of "arnaque" reviews on Trustpilot and a media exposé or a takedown is one complaint away.

### If it were you

**Verdict: C.** A good read on how a high-ARPU business charts in a small market, but not worth copying as is. The core is an opaque "moderator chat" model with legal and reputation risk on top. The transparent version (labeled as entertainment, fictional profiles) already has a dozen players in German-speaking markets, white-label systems you can buy off the shelf, and HERZY has followed in France.

**Who it suits:** Teams already running coin-based social or chat products who want to learn its paid acquisition and re-engagement playbook; or people building a paid chat product that **openly says it's an AI character** , who need a read on willingness to pay and chart thresholds in the French and German markets.

**Who it doesn't suit:** Anyone who wants to copy the "fake profile chat" model; teams without an EU legal entity who can't absorb refunds and complaints; anyone counting on organic traffic (this business runs on paid acquisition only; there's not a single discussion about it on TikTok or X).

**How to do it:** If you want to borrow the approach, build the transparent version: the character is clearly AI or a real host, stated on the profile and on the first screen, billed per message or per minute. Coin packs in the €7.99–84.99 range can be used as a reference point. Pick a language with a low Top Grossing threshold and little competition first (France already has four or five copies of this model fighting for the slot, and Italy has them too). On iOS, file under Lifestyle or Entertainment.

**How to get users:** Native-language copy and images plus video on Meta. Test with a small budget and only scale once it pays back. On Instagram, run an account that gives away a daily code, and pull paying users back once a day.

**When to get in:** No rush. This kind of business has run in Germany for twenty years and won't disappear overnight. But it won't get any less crowded if you arrive a few months later either.

**Signs we got it wrong:** (1) If Tschillie or HERZY get pulled from the App Store or Google Play, or are named by French media or the DGCCRF, that means France tolerates this model far less than Germany does, and the transparent version needs rethinking too. (2) The other way round: if it's still buying Meta ads into early 2027, still in the French Top Grossing top 30, and climbing in Germany, then willingness to pay in France and Germany is stronger than estimated, and the transparent AI chat version is worth building.

Where users come from

- **Verified** **Meta (Facebook/Instagram) paid ads** : Searching "tschillie" in the Facebook Ad Library shows 19 ads running on the first page. The earliest started in 2026-05-09, all with the same French copy, "Rejoins, Connecte & Ressens l'appartenance." Peekly shows 27–29 ads running. Play installs have held steady at two or three hundred a day since June.

- **Verified** **Instagram @tschillieeu daily "code du jour"** : about 1,600 followers and 114 posts. Each post shares a one-time code valid for 48 hours, redeemed by contacting customer service in the app (presumably for coins). Its main purpose is to bring paying users back, not to acquire new ones.

- Inferred **Store rating management / in-app review prompts** : 4.8 stars on iOS, 4.5 stars in the French Play store (1.28k reviews), versus 2.9 stars and 57% one-star reviews on Trustpilot. The App Store has many one- or two-word 5-star reviews.

- **Verified** **Store expansion (France → Germany)** : launched in the German iOS store on 2026-08-24. It reached the top 100 in German Lifestyle Top Grossing 10-31 (AppInsider). In Germany's Play DATING Free chart it ranked 50–68.

- Inferred **Influencer / TikTok / X content** : a TikHub search for tschillie returns 0 videos, and x-radar shows 0 posts in the last 365 days. We found no evidence for the "influencers" mentioned in the re-engagement card.

## Tschillie: Dating, Chat & Date (com.tschillie.app): why it's charting

### Bottom line

Tschillie isn't a "new-style dating app." It's a **pay-per-message "moderator chat" (Moderatoren-Chat) model** that has run in German-speaking markets for twenty years, now dressed in a modern dating app look and brought to the French market. The operator is Maroon Innovations LTD in Malta. Its terms state that accounts run by the platform itself take part in chats and that each message costs 4 coins (8 more for messages over 250 characters). Users came in through Meta paid ads, which have run since 2026-05. Revenue comes from a small group of male users buying pack after pack of coins. It ranked around #25 in the French DATING Top Grossing chart with only 45k installs, which shows very high revenue per user, not that people like the product. The differentiation is packaging: the old model is wrapped in a Tinder-style app (Connect matching, Browse, iOS rating of 4.8), and the terms don't state "fictional profiles" the way German peers do. That packaging is genuinely why it sells in France, but it carries clear compliance and reputation risk.

### 1. Basic data

- **Play** : 45,402 total installs worldwide (googleplay library, 2026-11-06), +1,912 over the last 7 days, roughly 270 a day. The curve has been flat since 10-29: 43,490 → 45,402.
    - The store listing date 2026-09-26 has been reset. The earliest review in the library is from 2026-03-15. apkcombo recorded v1.2.6 at 2026-06-23 as "5k+ installs, 101 reviews," and AppBrain recorded 10,000+ at 2026-07-29. So since June, daily new installs have run at about two or three hundred, a steady pace.
    - The French Play page shows a 4.5-star rating with 1.28k reviews. Our library scrapes details from the US store, which has no rating, so the rating field in the data card is empty.

- **Play charts** (googleplay library, 10-29 to 11-06, on the charts every day):
    - French DATING Top Grossing #24–#26
    - French DATING Free #28–#32
    - German DATING Free #50–#68
    - On the same day, its neighbors on the French Top Grossing chart were Turn Up (4.22M installs), Linduu (2.85M), and OkCupid (51.2M). Its install count is two orders of magnitude smaller than these.

- **iOS** (id6754551718, developer Maroon Innovations LTD, filed under "Lifestyle" rather than Dating):
    - Launched 2025-11-24, v1.2.7 (2026-09-04), 939 ratings in the French store, rated 4.76 stars
    - Best position on the French Lifestyle Top Grossing chart: #48; German store: #117 (appstore library)
    - French store rating gains of about +21 to +28 per week; German store rating rose from 31 to 45
    - AppInsider records: it entered the top 100 of German Lifestyle Top Grossing 2026-10-31, after it expanded to Germany on 2026-08 (openaso records the German store launch as 2026-08-24)

- **Third-party estimates (for reference only, unverified)** :
    - Peekly's public page title says "about $5k/month," but the page body also shows "Estimated MRR $97k / $126k (last 30 days)" and "peak revenue/day $397," so the basis is inconsistent.
    - Peekly shows 29 Meta ads running on iOS and 27 on Play.
    - AppInsider: 100+ downloads per day across both stores combined.

### 2. What it actually is: the "moderator accounts" its terms describe

Key points from the original terms at www.tschillie.com/page/terms-and-conditions:

- Operator: Maroon Innovations LTD (C112120), address 2 Bibi Family Court, Triq it-Tempju, Qala (Gozo), Malta, governed by Maltese law.

- **"Moderators" clause** : "Moderators may engage in chat interactions through accounts operated by Tschillie… These accounts are not private individuals and do not represent genuine independent users of the Community." In other words, accounts the platform runs itself take part in chats, and they are not real users. The terms frame this as being for safety, customer service, and testing.

- Billing: sending a message costs 4 coins, plus 8 more for messages over 250 characters. "Double Spice" (a nudge) costs 2 coins. Connect gives 10 free rounds a day; after that, every 10 rounds cost 5 coins.

- Coin packs: €7.99–84.99 on iOS (tiers such as Éclat / Flamme / Brasier / Volcan), $7.49–79.99 on Play.

- The terms use the consumer/trader distinction and the "right of withdrawal lapses once delivery begins" wording, which reads like a translation of German AGB (inferred).

**User-side evidence** :

- Trustpilot (fr.trustpilot.com/review/www.tschillie.com): 14 reviews, rated 2.9, of which 57% are 1-star and 43% are 5-star. The 1-star reviews are almost all about the same thing:
    - "CE N'EST QUE DE L'IA" (2026-10-11)
    - "A flood of fake female profiles... run by the platform... paid messaging" (2026-08-26)
    - "repeated refusals to move to WhatsApp" (2026-05-09)
    - Female users also report that the male profiles are fake (CHANTAL, 2026-04-27)

- Latest 50 reviews on the App Store FR storefront (RSS): most are one- or two-word 5-star rants, like "Top", "Bien", "Super appli". The reviews that actually say something cluster around "tokens too expensive", "a girl replied to me but I have to pay to reply back", and "why not a monthly subscription?"

- The gap between the two sides is typical for this industry: the app pops up prompts that collect good reviews and pushes the store score to 4.5–4.8, while unhappy users vent off-platform.

### 3. Competitors

This category is established in Germany. The German consumer organization vzbv counted 187 dating sites using fictitious profiles in 2018 (reported by heise.de), and Verbraucherzentrale still has a page explaining how "Moderatoren" run fake profiles (verbraucherzentrale.de/…/onlinedating-achtung-fakeprofile-21848). Products using the same model that show up on the Play DATING top grossing charts in France and Germany:

| Product | Platform | Launched | Scale (googleplay library 11-06) | How Tschillie differs |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| yoomee(mobile Trend GmbH) | Android/iOS | 2019 | 6.27M installs, #6 free DATING in Germany, #30 top grossing in France | The veteran German "flirt chat", much bigger, also operates in France |
| Linduu / Justlo(Justlin Limited) | Android/iOS | Around 2020 | Linduu 2.85M, Justlo DE 1.84M and FR 1.13M; #20 / #25 top grossing in France | A long-time player in the same category that already has a French version. A user on the App Store quotes the terms: "Moderators may pose as online community" |
| Viluu (We2Gether GmbH, Berlin) | Android | — | 850k, #9 on German Top Grossing | Its terms plainly state "reine Unterhaltungsplattform… fiktiven Profilen" and mark fictitious profiles with a heart, which is more transparent than Tschillie |
| Bettdeckengeflüster | Android | 2023-09 | 62k, #22 on German Top Grossing | Similar size to Tschillie. Its terms state that "all female profiles should be considered fictitious profiles run by moderators" |
| HERZY / the French version ÉPRIS (SOLVICO LTD, Paphos, Cyprus) | Android | 2026-09-15 | 16k, about +1,985 in the last 7 days, #32 on French Top Grossing | The newest same-model player to enter France. Its terms have a section titled "fiktive Profile" and position itself as an "Unterhaltungsdienst" (entertainment service) |
| ZumDaten (M.M SPACECORE Ltd., same address as HERZY), iSingles (QUVY CORE, Singapore), Hellovy (NetMediaVision, Switzerland) | Android | 2024–2026 | 15k / 130k / 110k; on the top grossing charts in Germany and Italy | Several apps share the same white-label terms ("10 Coins per message"), which suggests ready-made systems and moderator outsourcing can be bought |
| Mignonne(Subnet protocol s.a) | Android | 2018 | 790k, #36 top grossing in France | A French-run adult paid chat |
| Mainstream dating apps: Tinder / Hinge / Meetic / Badoo / happn / Bumble | All platforms | 2010–2017 | Tens of millions to hundreds of millions of installs; top 8 in French Top Grossing | Real users plus subscriptions. Tschillie copies their interface, but the business model is completely different |

In addition, Hily, Bliss Dating and Once, dating apps that went global, also rank #10–30 on the French top grossing chart, relying on high-priced in-app purchases too.

### 4. Growth tactics

1. **Paid Meta ads (confirmed)** : 2026-11-06 searched "tschillie" in the Facebook Ad Library, and the first page shows 19 ads running.
    - Launch dates: 10 ads, 2026-05-09,4 ads, 05-10,1 ads, 05-12,3 ads, 07-24,1 ads, 10-30 ads
    - The copy is consistently in French: "Rejoins, Connecte & Ressens l'appartenance", with both images and video
    - Peekly shows 27–29 ads running
    - The launch timing matches the steady 200-300 daily installs on Play since June. Our own metaads library does not track this advertiser. Google Ads and TikTok ad libraries were also checked, and both returned no_ads (TikTok searched by product name found 365 ads in the last 0 days).

2. **Daily "code du jour" on Instagram (confirmed; used to keep users engaged, not to acquire them)** : @tschillieeu has only about 1,600 followers and 114 posts.
    - Almost every post includes a "Code du jour". It is valid for 48 hours, can be used once, and is redeemed "auprès de notre service clientèle dans l'application" (inferred to give free tokens)
    - The purpose is to bring paying users back every day, get them to follow the account, and interact with customer service
    - No evidence found for the "French-speaking influencers" in the recall card: TikTok has 0 videos tagged "tschillie" (TikHub), and X has 0 posts (x-radar, last 365 days)

3. **Store rating management (inferred)** : iOS 4.8 stars, Play 4.5 stars, compared with Trustpilot 2.9 stars and 57% one-star reviews. Many one- or two-word 5-star reviews on the App Store. A high score improves conversion when users search "rencontre" in the store.

4. **Market expansion** : France first (iOS 2025-11, Play latest 2026-03), then from 2026-08 expansion to Germany (iOS German store 08-24, Play Germany free chart 50–68). When AppInsider recorded the Play listing reset (2026-09-26), it briefly appeared on the top grossing charts in the UAE, Indonesia and Saudi Arabia, possibly as tests.

**How the money comes back** : pay-per-message chat. A male user kept talking to a "moderator account" can send dozens of messages a day, which means dozens to hundreds of tokens. The smallest pack is €7.99, the largest is €84.99. So a few hundred heavy paying users can push an app with 45k installs to #25 on the French DATING top grossing chart. Meta acquisition costs (a few euros per install for dating in France) are recovered by a small number of "whale" users.

### 5. Why it took off

- **The model itself monetizes very strongly** : the terms state that the platform runs chat accounts, and billing is per message. A small number of installs produces #24–26 on the French DATING top grossing chart (googleplay library).

- **Chose the relatively empty French market** : this model is based in the German-speaking region, where a dozen similar apps sit on the German chart. The French chart has few peers, only the French versions of Linduu, Justlo and yoomee. HERZY / ÉPRIS entered only in 2026-09.

- **Packaged as a mainstream dating app** : Connect / Browse / "Double Spice" interface, "find your fire 🌶️" branding, listed under the Lifestyle category on iOS, store rating 4.5–4.8 stars, and the terms describe moderators as serving safety and customer service rather than calling profiles "fictitious". New users struggle to tell at a glance.

- **Continuous Meta ad spend since 2026-05** , plus daily Instagram codes to keep paying users.

### 6. Differentiation: is that why it took off?

Tschillie's differentiation is not in features but in **how it is packaged and how it discloses** :

- German peers (Viluu, Bettdeckengeflüster, HERZY), following Verbraucherzentrale's guidance, state "fictitious profiles, entertainment service" clearly in their terms, and some mark profiles.

- Tschillie describes the same mechanism as "moderators join chats for safety and customer service", and presents itself externally as a "modern, sincere" dating app.

That packaging is exactly why it converts well and rates high in France. The cost: once users catch on, they give it 1 stars and call it "arnaque" (scam). It's also fragile under EU consumer protection rules (the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive) and Apple's and Google's dating-app review policies. A store delisting, refund disputes, or media exposure could each shut it down overnight.

### 7. Visibility / copycats

- **Visibility: still very low.** There is no media coverage. X and TikTok have 0 discussion, revenue is not public, and the only data comes from automated estimate pages like Peekly / AppInsider and 14 Trustpilot reviews. The model itself has been widely reported in Germany for a long time, so it is not a secret.

- **Copycats: HERZY / ÉPRIS** (SOLVICO LTD, on Play since 2026-09-15, #32 top grossing in France) is the most direct new entrant with the same model. It may not be copying Tschillie, but it is targeting the same French market at the same time. ZumDaten / iSingles / Hellovy share one set of white-label terms, which shows this kind of app can be cloned in bulk.

### 8. What others can borrow

- Parts that are worth borrowing and are legitimate:
    - Run a long-term Meta campaign with one unified French copy
    - Use Instagram's daily time-limited codes to bring paying users back
    - Win one smaller-language home market first, then expand to neighboring markets (France → Germany)
    - List the iOS app under Lifestyle to avoid head-on competition in the Dating category
    - A low-install, high-revenue-per-user approach has a low bar to the charts in high-spending markets like France and Germany

- **The core not to copy** : staffing chats with platform-run accounts and charging per message. Consumer organizations in Germany have long named this model, and in France it carries risk once the press or the DGCCRF (the French consumer protection authority) takes notice.

### 9. Still unclear

- Real revenue: Peekly's figures contradict each other and have no reliable source.

- What share of all conversations the "moderator accounts" account for, and whether they are outsourced humans or AI replies (Trustpilot users say AI, unverified).

- Who is behind Maroon Innovations: northdata shows 2 directors, but no names were obtained. It is also unclear whether it shares an origin with the long-established German-speaking operators.

- Ad spend and cost per install; whether Play also ran Google UAC (our library records it as no_ads).

- Why the Play listing was reset on 9-26 (a change of info or a market expansion), and whether the brief Middle East and Indonesia chart appearances were tests.
