투래블 - 함께 짜는 설레는 여행 (Two Travel) · 투래블

# Six weeks before Triple shut down, a solo-built "moving" app: how many did 투래블 catch?

**What it is** A Korean indie-built travel itinerary app where several people edit the same trip together. Companions can join from a web page without installing anything, and old 트리플 itineraries can be imported in one tap.

**Why it got traction** 트리플 shut down, its official successor NOL doesn't include expense tracking, checklists, or inviting companions, and longtime users went hunting for alternatives. The app got ahead of it, pushing "moving" messaging on Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Naver blogs, and a help page titled with the exact search phrase, catching some of those users.

**C** **How you could follow this** Don't build yet another 트리플 alternative. Watch for the next big platform that shuts down or cuts features, and six to eight weeks ahead, build the features and one-tap import its official migration misses. Title your landing page with users' search terms.

C grade: this shutdown window has already passed. A dozen small Korean apps are splitting the same users, 록핀 and 스마트래블 are several times bigger, and users say outright they won't pay. What's worth copying is the playbook of watching shutdown windows and building the migration tool, but copying this exact app isn't worth it. Almost nobody knows about it

Data (updated daily) · first launch 2026-10-04 · 11-07 installs 1,068

Android · Total installs worldwide

Data 2026-10-29 → 2026-11-07 (10 days, 10 observations). Google's detail page only refreshes install counts every other day, so a flat day doesn't mean nobody installed.

In Nov 2026 3, 트리플 (Triple), a Korean travel itinerary app used for nearly a decade, officially shut down and merged into NOL. More than a month before the shutdown, indie developer Seoyeon Cho was already teaching people on Instagram to "copy the 트리플 link, paste, save." The app is called 투래블 (Two Travel). Its pitch: several people edit the same itinerary together, and old trips can be moved over in one tap. By Nov 6 it had 1,068 installs on Google Play. This piece looks at how it caught those migrating users, why it only caught a small slice, and what you can take from it.

### An app that's going away, and a crowd looking for a new home

트리플 had 6.74M installs on Google Play. The official destination was NOL, but itineraries moved there without expense tracking (가계부), checklists (체크리스트), or inviting companions (일행 초대) (NOL's official "트리플 service integration notice," 11-03). Under NOL's own migration tutorial on Instagram, the comments are almost all complaints: "Bring back 가계부 and per-person split settlement, please," and "놀은 직관성이 너무 부족함" (NOL isn't intuitive enough).

Lots of people wanted out. A Threads post titled "트리플 대체할 여행계획어플 추천" (recommend a 트리플 replacement travel-planning app) was posted by 10-25 and viewed 29k times.

On Oct 29, a user left 투래블 a five-star review on the App Store: "ㅌㄹㅍ 없어진대서 쓸 어플 몇개 다운받아보다가 여기로 정착할라고요……쓰던거 링크로 붙여오니까 바로 싹싹되어서 편했어용" (Heard 트리플 is going away, so I downloaded a few apps and decided to settle here... pasting my old links brought everything over right away, which was convenient).

### What it is

A travel itinerary app on your phone, built around "함께 짜는" (planning together). The first line of the store description: a trip starts when someone in the group chat asks "when are we going?" But in reality one person usually plans the whole trip, and everyone else just gets a link.

Its approach: everyone traveling sees and edits the same itinerary. Edit permissions come in tiers, with change history and undo. Candidate places can be voted on and commented on. There's a "여행지 월드컵" (destination world cup, a head-to-head bracket) and a draw that assigns roles (who handles money, who takes photos). Companions receive a KakaoTalk link and can view and vote on the web without installing anything or logging in. Kakao login is only required when saving.

Everything is free for now, with no ads and no booking banners (the website says "지금은 전부 무료예요"). The iOS version launched Sep 15, the Play version Oct 4, and both are Korea-only.

### How it caught the migrating users

**1. Get ahead of the shutdown by talking about the move.** On Sep 24, the official Instagram account @go_tworavel posted a Reel demoing 복사 → 붙여넣기 → 저장 (copy → paste → save). The caption reads 「제가 만드는 투래블」 ("the 투래블 I'm making"), using the comment-to-DM tactic: "comment and I'll DM you the import method." On YouTube Shorts, a video from Oct 3 titled 「트리플 쓰셨던 분들, 11월 3일 전에 이거 꼭 해 두세요」 (Anyone who used 트리플, do this before Nov 3) has 1,500 views. The channel has 3,880 subscribers and only 7 videos, so subscribers and views don't quite match up. Source unverified. There's also a video titled 「让 Opus 5.5 给我做广告」 ("Let Opus make ads for me"), an indie dev using AI to produce ad creatives.

**2. The landing page title is the exact phrase users search for.** The title of tworavel.com/help/import-link is "트리플 종료 후 일정 옮기기" (How to move your itinerary after 트리플 ends). Supported sources include 트리플 links, NOL screenshots, Notion, Google Docs, and Naver blogs. What if the link won't open? The page tells you to send a screenshot of the itinerary to Gemini or ChatGPT, have it converted to text, and paste that in. External large language models end up doing the OCR and parsing for free.

**3. Naver blogs.** On 10-23, blogger delrong published a review titled "트리플 대체 어플" (트리플 replacement apps). They tried several: some only support Jeju domestically, some can't reorder by distance. They chose 투래블: "가장 큰 장점은 트리플에 기록된 일정을 다 불러올 수 있다는 점" (the biggest advantage is that you can pull in all your 트리플 itineraries). No sponsorship disclosure is visible. Another blog, todogirl, writes in the voice of someone who "built and ran a travel platform myself," saying the import-screenshot feature was set up for people migrating from 트리플. It's quite possibly the developer or a related account (inference).

**4. The product pulls in its own users.** Each itinerary needs at least two or three people, and every invited person sees the product on the web first.

The numbers line up with these moves:

| Date | Google Play cumulative installs | Korea travel free chart (Play) | Korea travel free chart (iOS) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10-27 | About 422 (third-party estimate) | — | — |
| 10-29 | 423 | 164 | 129(10-28) |
| 10-31 | 543 | 113 | — |
| 11-03 | 808 | — | 76 |
| 11-05 | 1,068 | 69 | 44(11-04) |
| 11-06 | 1,068 | 66 | 49 |

(Google Play installs and category chart, 11-06; the 10-27 figures are AppstoreSpy estimates.) Two small peaks, before and after the shutdown, with a hundred or two hundred installs a day. The iOS Korea store has only 14 ratings, averaging 4.3 (App Store, 11-06).

### What users said

Most iOS reviews come from 트리플 refugees, and they show what people care about:

- "트리플 최대 단점인 pc편집. 이어플은 pc편집이 쉽고……가계부도 버튼하나로 옮겨지네요" (트리플's biggest flaw is no PC editing. 이어플 makes PC editing easy... and 가계부 moved over with one button, 10-13)

- "특히 더치페이 부분이 좀 더 잘 되어있고 준비물/체크리스트도 같이 체크 가능한 부분이 너무 좋았어요" (Split-the-bill handling is better, and checklists can be ticked off together, 10-24)

- "부디 유료전환말고 광고 깔리지않고 지금처럼 유지되길" (Please don't switch to paid, don't add ads, and keep it just like this, 10-13)

- There's also a one-star review: screenshot import "몇번을 넣어도 못읽어요……있지도 않은 오사카 일정으로 불러와요" (tried it several times, it can't read the screenshot, and it pulled in an Osaka itinerary that doesn't exist, 11-02), and "아이패드에선 쓰레기에요" (on iPad it's garbage, 10-31).

What users want is exactly what NOL dropped: expense tracking, split payments, checklists, and collaborative editing. The fallback of having AI read itinerary screenshots sometimes invents things that weren't in the screenshot.

### Where the money comes from

There's no money yet. It's fully free, with no in-app purchases and no ads. Recently the iOS name changed to "함께 짜는 여행ㅣ일정, 탐색, 예약, 기록," adding "예약" (booking) (App Store, 11-06), so commissions on hotels or tickets may come later (inference). Users have already said in reviews not to charge, so monetization will be hard.

### Who's competing

Everyone was fighting over these migrating users at once, and 투래블 didn't end up with much.

| Competitors | Scale (Google Play, 11-06) | How it differs |
|---|---|---|
| NOL | 27.3M installs, #2 Top Free in Korea Travel | Official successor, with bookings; migration doesn't carry over expense tracking, checklists, or inviting companions |
| 록핀 | 51k, 7 days +3,504, #33 in Travel | Built around travel expense tracking plus resort discounts; grew far faster than 투래블 during the migration window |
| 스마트래블 (solo indie dev) | 9,849,7 days +1,441, #34 in Travel | Itinerary, maps, budget, translation, and currency all in one. Launched four months earlier, about 9× the scale |
| Somewhere | iOS #4 ratings | AI planning plus expense splitting. Added 트리플 import in 9-22, two days ahead of 투래블 |
| Wanderlog | 3.98M | Veteran global collaborative itinerary app. Weak on local Korean places |
| 트라이플랜, 트리플랜, 트립노트, Triptable, 투플… | Ratings in the dozens | All pitching themselves as 'a 트리플 alternative.' 트라이플랜's subtitle is '함께 만드는 여행 일정 플래너' (a travel itinerary planner you build together), nearly identical to 투래블's pitch |

Same window, and plenty of others are pitching migration, and plenty of others are doing 'edit together.' One Threads post even says: '트리플 is shutting down, so I'll just build one myself.'

### If it were you

**Verdict: C.** Building a Korean 트리플 replacement now is too late. The shutdown date has passed, a dozen-plus apps are splitting this crowd, and the leaders, 록핀 and 스마트래블, are both several times bigger than 투래블. What's worth taking is the playbook: when a big platform shuts down, merges, or cuts features, build one-click migration a few weeks early, and make your landing page title the exact phrase users search for.

**Who it suits:** Solo devs who can ship a working utility app fast and make their own short videos and blog posts; people with an existing product (itinerary, expenses, notes, photos) who can add an import feature within weeks.

**Who it doesn't suit:** Anyone aiming to go head-to-head in Korean travel itineraries long-term. NOL has a closed booking loop and a large base of existing users, the remaining space is contested by a dozen-plus apps, and users have said outright they don't want to pay.

**How to do it:** Watch the next product that's shutting down or cutting features, check what its official migration leaves out (this time: expense tracking, checklists, and inviting companions), and build those missing pieces. Don't aim for perfect imports: support links first, fall back to screenshots, and send the screenshots to a general-purpose LLM to convert to text. Always make users confirm the recognized results, so you don't end up inventing a city like the one in the 1-star review above.

**How to get users:** Start the moment the shutdown is announced. Instagram Reels plus comment-to-DM, YouTube Shorts with a countdown ("do this before X date"), a help page titled with search terms like 'X 종료 후 일정 옮기기' (moving your itinerary after X shuts down), and a few real users writing blog posts. For collaborative products, let invited people join without installing or logging in, so one itinerary brings in two or three more people.

**When the window is:** From the shutdown announcement to shutdown day, roughly six to eight weeks, and that's the whole window. 투래블 starting six weeks early still felt late, and Somewhere launched import two days before it did.

**What would show this call was wrong:** ① By December, 투래블 installs are still climbing by hundreds a week and iOS ratings pass 100. That would mean 'edit together' retains users on its own, with organic growth after the window, and C underrated it. ② 록핀 or 스마트래블 stop growing and 투래블 overtakes them. That would mean the collaboration differentiator worked in the second half of the migration. ③ NOL adds expense tracking and inviting companions before year-end. Then these small apps would lose volume, and the 'playbook is learnable' point would hold less.

## 투래블 (Two Travel, com.tworavel.app): why it took off

> In one line: a multi-user collaborative travel itinerary app built by a Korean solo developer (Seoyeon Cho). When Korea's national-level itinerary app 트리플 (Triple) 2026-11-03 shut down and merged into NOL, it made 'paste your 트리플 link to move over' its main selling point more than a month before the shutdown, using its own Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Naver blog, and SEO help pages to capture migration traffic. Scale is still small (about 1 thousand Play installs), and it wasn't the biggest winner of this migration wave.

### 1. Data (our database, as of 2026-11-06)

**Google Play (googleplay library)**

- Store launch 2026-10-04, Korea store only. Cumulative installs: 10-27 is 422 (AppstoreSpy estimate), 10-29 is 423,10-31, 543,11-03 is 808,11-05, 1,068; over the last 7 days +645.

- AppstoreSpy estimated daily adds: 10-21 to 10-27 about 38,10-30 per day; that day 120,11-05; that day 198. There were two small peaks around the shutdown, each in the low hundreds per day.

- Korea Travel Top Free chart: 10-29 #164 → 10-31 #113 → 11-04 #111 → 11-05 #69 → 11-06 #66.

- No ratings or review samples.

**iOS (appstore library + iTunes lookup)**

- iOS launched first: 2026-09-15 (id6811648330), developer Seoyeon Cho, version 1.0.9 (released 10-31, added iPad support).

- Korea store rating count: 10-28 is 8,11-06 is 14, average 4.3.

- Korea Travel Top Free chart: 10-28 #129 → 11-03 #76 → 11-04 #44 → 11-06 #49.

**Benchmark: 트리플 itself** : 6.74M cumulative installs on Play (googleplay library); NOL #2 on the Korea Travel Top Free chart. The migration pool is in the millions, and 투래블 captured only just over a thousand.

### 2. Competitors: who is chasing 트리플's migrating users

After 트리플 shut down, the official destination is NOL. But NOL's migration doesn't carry over **expense tracking (가계부), checklists (체크리스트), or inviting companions (일행 초대)** , and its own itinerary feature doesn't yet support inviting companions (source: NOL's official 'Trip Service Integration Notice' 2026-11-03, board.yanolja.com/info/content/index.html?id=1915; relayed from NOL's Instagram live issue post 2026-11-04). Under NOL's official Instagram migration guide, nearly all comments are complaints: 'Please bring back expense tracking and per-person split settlement' 'NOL is really not intuitive' (instagram.com/p/DfBoc_2GchV). That gap is what all the small apps are competing for.

| Product | Platform | Launched | Scale (our library, 2026-11-06) | How it differs from 투래블 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| NOL(놀유니버스) | iOS / Android | 2011 | Play 27.3M installs, #2 Top Free in Korea Travel | Official partner: built-in booking loop. Trip migration drops ledger, checklist, and companion invites. |
| Triple (shut down) | iOS / Android | 2017 | Play 6.74M | The source being migrated from |
| 록핀(코르딕스) | iOS / Android | 2025-12 | Play 51k, 7 days +3,504, #33 in Korea Travel | Built around trip expense tracking + destination discounts; growth during the migration was far bigger than Tworavel's |
| SmartTravel (jeonghyun kim, solo dev) | iOS / Android | iOS 2026-05-30 / Play 06-13 | Play 9,849,7 days +1,441, #34 in Korea Travel; iOS 67 ratings | All-in-one (itinerary, maps, budget, translation, exchange rates, checklists). Also a solo dev, launched 4 months earlier, roughly 9× Tworavel's scale. |
| Somewhere(NP Seoul) | iOS / Android / macOS | iOS 2026-06-18 | iOS 4 ratings; never charted on Play | Leads with AI planning + expense splitting. Shipped "Triple itinerary / ledger CSV import" back in 9-22, two days before Tworavel did. |
| Wanderlog | Global | 2019 | Play 3.98M, 7 days +22k; #48 on the Korea travel chart | The original global collaborative trip planner. Weak localization, thin domestic (Korean) destination data. |
| Trip Note, Trap Plan, Ululu, Triptable, Tupl, Travel Map Morizzi, Every Ticket, and others | Mostly iOS | 2025–2026 | Ratings in the dozens | Small competing apps, all pitching themselves as the "Triple replacement" |

Beyond those, a batch of new solo-dev apps clearly spawned by Triple's shutdown or the category's buzz: TriPlan (2026-09-23), TriFlan "collaborative trip itinerary planner" (2026-07-08, its positioning is almost identical to Tworavel's), and on Threads @maplnd announced "Triple is closing, so I'll build one myself." **The category is already crowded,** and Tworavel is just one of many players.

### 3. Growth tactics (with evidence)

1. **Betting on migration before the shutdown** : 9-24's official Instagram (@go_tworavel) posted a Reel demoing "copy Triple link → paste → save", paired with a comment-to-DM hook ("comment and I'll DM you the import method") (instagram.com/reel/DdqnkJzyY6i; caption says "제가 만드는 투래블", "the Tworavel I'm building").

2. **YouTube Shorts** : channel @tworavel with 3.88K subscribers and 7 videos. Its "If you used Triple, do this 11 before 3 월 10-03 일" Short hit 1.5K views; another, "Do this before Triple shuts down", got 1.2K. There's also "I asked Opus 5.5 to make an ad..." (1.2K), suggesting AI-made ad creative. Subscriber count and views look mismatched; subscriber sources unverified.

3. **SEO landing page** : tworavel.com/help/import-link is titled "Moving your itinerary after Triple shuts down", covering imports from Triple, Notion, Google Docs, and Naver Blog. If a link won't open, it tells users to "screenshot it, send to Gemini / ChatGPT to convert to text, then paste it in." 12 city guide pages (Jeju, Osaka, Tokyo...) capture long-tail traffic.

4. **Naver Blog** :
    - todogirl: "Moving your Triple itinerary: 4 things to bring along, including expenses and companions" (updated 11-04). The author says "I've planned and run a travel platform myself" and writes "For Triple migrants... I set up screenshot import," speaking as the developer. to_do_girl also left a comment under the official Reel on Instagram. **This account is probably the developer or an affiliated account** (inference, unverified).
    - delrong: "Tworavel - travel itinerary & planning app recommendation (feat. Triple replacement)" (10-23). Reads like a real user: tried several replacements, some only supported Jeju domestically, some lacked "reorder by distance," and finally picked Tworavel. No sponsorship disclosure seen; whether it's a seeded review program is unverified.

5. **Built-in viral loop** : invite links go out via KakaoTalk. Companions can view, vote, and answer "Want to come along?" cards on the web without installing the app or logging in. Saving requires Kakao login, so each itinerary pulls in several people.

6. **Ads** : not in the Google Ads Library or Meta Ad Library (it isn't on the tracked list, so absence doesn't mean no spend). AI-made ad shorts exist; spend scale unverified.

7. **X / media** : x-radar shows "Tworavel" and "tworavel" searches each with 60 posts in the last 0 days; no media coverage found.

### 4. Why it took off

- **Timing (main driver)** : Triple 2026-11-03 shuts down and folds into NOL. The official migration drops ledgers, checklists, and companion invites, so long-time users went looking for replacements. A Threads post asking for a "Triple replacement trip planner" got 29k views (@aloc__gss, 10-25). Tworavel's two install spikes (10-30 and around 11-03 through 11-05) and chart jumps (iOS to #11-04 44, Play to #11-05 69) all landed around the shutdown.

- **Cut migration friction to almost zero** : paste a link to import; if it won't open, screenshot it or use AI to clean it up; preview without logging in. Blogger delrong: "The biggest plus is that you can pull in every itinerary recorded in Triple."

- **Fills the gap NOL left** : multi-user collaboration, companion invites, ledger CSV import, and checklists, built right where NOL's migration fell short.

- **Fully free, no ads, no booking banners** (the site says "everything is free for now"). Appealing to people turned off by NOL's push toward a booking platform.

- **Reasons people might stay** : once several people use it together, the data and companions lock them in somewhat. But there are no review samples yet, so retention evidence is thin.

### 5. Differentiation

- Positioning is "**collaborative** " planning: tiered edit permissions, change history and undo, destination voting, comments, a "travel destination world cup," and role draws (treasurer, photographer). Companions can join on the web with **no app install** , which sets it apart from most Korean local competitors (SmartTravel and Rockpin lean personal tools; Somewhere leans AI plus splitting).

- Broadest import sources: Triple links, NOL screenshots, Notion, Google Docs, Naver Blog, and screenshots fed through AI.

- **Is this differentiation the reason it took off? Partly. The initial surge came from a platform event plus "moving house" messaging, but "moving house" isn't unique to it: Somewhere 9-22 did it too, and 스마트래블 and Every Ticket are shouting it as well. Going by the results, in the same period 스마트래블 (7 days, +1,441) and 록핀 (7 days, +3,504) grew more than it did. "Collaboration + no-install web app" is its long-term selling point, but there's no data yet proving it's what makes it win.**

### 6. How many people can see it

- Revenue: none. It's fully free, with no in-app purchases and no ads.

- Exposure: no media coverage, 0 posts on X; only its own IG and YouTube, plus a few Naver blog posts. **Still few people know about it.**

- But the category itself is crowded: a dozen small Korean apps are fighting over the "Triple replacement" keyword at once.

### 7. Takeaways

- **Watch the window when big platforms shut down, merge, or redesign** : launch "one-click migration" 4–6 weeks ahead, and title landing pages with the phrase users actually search, like "Moving your X after shutdown."

- **Don't aim for perfect imports** : if a link won't open, have users screenshot it and feed it to a general-purpose LLM to convert to text, then paste it back. Treat external AI as free OCR and parsing, supporting any source at zero cost.

- **The founder seeds traffic through several content accounts** : IG comment-to-DM, YT Shorts countdowns ("do this before 11/3"), and Naver blog reviews written by "someone who ran a platform."

- **Collaboration products let invitees skip app installs and logins** , spreading through KakaoTalk links.

### 8. Uncertain

- What the relationship is between the todogirl blog, the to_do_girl IG account, and the developer (inferred to be an affiliated account, unverified).

- Where the YouTube channel's 3.88K subscribers came from (a renamed old channel or paid growth), unverified.

- Whether it runs paid ads (AI ad videos exist, but none show up in the ad libraries).

- Retention and organic growth after the shutdown bump fades; Play has no ratings yet.

- Play install counts can only be derived by subtracting cumulative totals the store reports, so single-day numbers are rough.
