An AI face-swap app owned by an Indonesian paper mill, 30k installs, squeezes into France's Entertainment Top Grossing top 100
What it is Upload a selfie, pick a template (Soccer Babe, Magic School, Viking Warrior), and the AI generates a face-swapped "other you".
Why it took off Not because the product is good, but because of the playbook: it bought ads in Western Europe and Australia, sold high-priced in-app purchases, and got into low-barrier entertainment charts. 30k installs was enough to reach #79 in France; the same operator ran 9 shells, and this was the one that worked.
CHow you could follow Don't copy the product, copy the playbook: switch to an AI category with eye-catching before-and-after results, first look for low-barrier category charts in various countries, test two or three versions at once, only buy ads in high-paying regions, and use your real identity as a developer.
- Data (updated daily) · first launch 2026-09-14 · 11-07 installs 32,805
Android · Total installs worldwide Data 2026-10-30 → 2026-11-07 (9 days, 9 observations). Google's detail page only refreshes install counts every other day, so a flat day doesn't mean nobody installed.
Vantasyx is an ordinary AI face-swap app with not a single review on its store page, yet in early November it charted in the Entertainment Top Grossing charts in France and the UK. Its rise has little to do with the product and everything to do with a playbook: the same operator used 9 borrowed developer accounts to launch 9 near-identical shells at once, bought ads only in Western Europe and Australia, sold high-priced in-app purchases, and specifically targeted low-barrier categories to chart. The playbook is learnable, but plenty of people already use it, and copying it means weighing the risk of account bans first.
A chart-topping app with no reviews
In Nov 4, Vantasyx ranked #79 in Google Play France's Entertainment Top Grossing chart. The developer listed on the store page is PT Supreme Paper Solution, an Indonesian paper mill whose website sells paper products; LinkedIn lists 201–500 employees. The store page is marked "Contains ads, contains in-app purchases", PEGI 12, content notice Horror; in-app purchases range from $3.99 to $169.99. Cumulative installs are 32,805 (Google Play install count, 11-06), the rating field is empty, and there are 0 reviews.
The screenshot slogans read "Responsible AI Face Swap Fun" and "Safe High-Quality AI Face Swap". The homepage has buttons for AI erase, AI cartoon, aging, passport photo, and AI background swap, and below that a row of "Soccer Babe" templates: girls in soccer jerseys. Upload a selfie, pick a template, and get an "other you". That's the whole feature set.
It launched on Sep 14, shipped version 1.0.2 on Oct 14, and the release note is just two words: "Fix bug". Opening its website vantasyx.com shows a blank page reading "Hello World!".
How 30k installs squeezed into the top 100
First, the install curve (third-party estimates, October; from 10-29 onward it is Google Play's daily install count):
| Date | Total installs | What happened |
|---|---|---|
| 10-06 | 3,145 | Almost no one installed it |
| 10-09 → 10-14 | 7,296 → 19,644 | Rose about 16k over 6 days |
| 10-27 → 10-31 | 27,719 → 27,721 | Only 2 more over five days |
| 11-01 → 11-06 | 28,723 → 32,805 | Back to 500–1,000 per day |
It surges, then stops dead, with on-off steps like that, which is what starting and stopping ad spend leaves behind. Organic word of mouth grows slowly and wouldn't look like this. AppInsider's charting timeline matches: 10-08 first appeared in Italy, 10-14 in Sweden, 10-15 in France and the UK, 10-29 in Germany, 11-01 entered France's top 100,11-03 and the UK's top 100 grossing charts, and it began appearing in Australia at the same time. The regions it spent on are Western Europe and Australia, places where people are willing to pay.
Next, check for organic traffic outside: searching "vantasyx" on TikTok returns 0 videos, there are 0 discussions on X, no media coverage, and no iOS version. No organic source can account for 30k installs, so it's essentially safe to conclude it's paid acquisition. Which platform it spent on (Meta, TikTok, Google, or an ad network) can't be determined from outside (unverified).
The other half of the reason is the category. The top 100 in France's Entertainment Top Grossing chart are mostly streaming, short dramas, and AI companion apps. Xpic Ai next to it has 42k installs (#94), BingeDrama 28k (#93). On this chart, a few thousand dollars of monthly revenue is probably enough to reach the top 100 (inferred). A face-swap app would normally belong in Photography, where big brands are crowded; in Entertainment, the same revenue ranks much higher.
9 shells, 9 developer accounts, all run by the same person
Following the blank "Hello World!" website leads to 8 more apps whose sites show the exact same page: mynkoai.com, vona.win, qaviroapp.com, corvia.link, ambli.link, mylora.link, mirapp.app. All 8 domains use the same pair of Cloudflare DNS servers, alice / mustafa (checked 11-06; Cloudflare assigns this name pair per account, which indicates the same account manages them). Other matching details:
- The descriptions all follow one template sentence: "X is a creative AI face swap and image transformation app designed to …";
- In-app purchases all cap at $169.99 or $199.99, with entry prices of $3.99–$5.99;
- The privacy policies are all hosted on Google Sites, at addresses of the form
privacypolicyof
; the support emails are garbled-looking Gmail addresses; - The developer names are all real companies unrelated to AI: an Indonesian paper mill, leather factory, and packaging company, a Pakistani company, and a small Danish shop.
| App | Developer name | Category | Launched | Installs (11-06) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mylora | An Arabic-named software company | Art & Design | 07-21 | 6,999 |
| Vantasyx | PT Supreme Paper Solution (paper) | Entertainment | 09-14 | 32,805 |
| Avita | PT Esolution Tech Indonesia | Art & Design | 09-19 | 3,522 |
| Fantyx | AKSA Converters (Pakistan) | Entertainment | 09-28 | 14,735 |
| Mynko | PT Sinergi Adimitra Jaya | Entertainment | 09-30 | 6,985 |
| Ambli | Developer Iftikhar Ahmad | Art & Design | 09-30 | 10,303 |
| Vona | PT Youngil Leather Indonesia (leather) | Art & Design | 10-03 | 8,177 |
| Corvia | PT Indocorr Packaging Cikarang (packaging) | Art & Design | 10-06 | 153 |
| Mira | Orestad Pakke Shop (Denmark) | Art & Design | 10-08 | 3,691 |
Together the 9 apps total about 87k installs, and Vantasyx alone accounts for 38%. Google Play's organization developer accounts require a D-U-N-S number and a verified company, so the operator borrowed other companies' identities to publish (inferred: accounts bought or rented). Losing one account doesn't drag the others down, and while running many shells, budget goes to whichever ad recoups fastest. This round, Vantasyx was the one that worked. The English privacy policy follows a template common among Chinese teams going global, so the operator may be a Chinese team (inferred, unverified).
Where the money comes from
Revenue isn't visible on the store page, but the structure is clear: few installs, high price per purchase. The top in-app purchase is $169.99, ads target only Western Europe and Australia, and a small number of paying users is enough to push it onto the grossing charts. No rating and no reviews suggest it isn't relying on store reputation and cares little about retention; it keeps spending as long as first-purchase payback covers the acquisition cost (inferred). Actual revenue figures are unverified.
Why do users pay? The ad creatives are easy to make: a selfie becomes a soccer babe, a Magic School girl, or a Viking warrior, and the before-and-after is eye-catching. As for how the paywall is designed or which templates match the horror rating, we haven't verified them by installing the app.
Who it's competing with
As a product it has no real competitive edge; this space is already crowded:
| Competitors | Scale | How it differs |
|---|---|---|
| Reface | Google Play 155M installs | Established brand, does video face swap |
| FaceLab | 88.3M installs | Focuses on aging and hairstyle changes |
| Faceplay | 38.2M installs | Same template face swap plus subscription, two orders of magnitude bigger |
| Pixit, RemakeFace, and various Face Swap apps | Millions to nearly ten million | Mass market, earns through ads |
| Pixnova, Vidnoz, Pixlr and other web tools | — | Free or cheap, no app install needed |
| Gemini, ChatGPT image generation | Huge | Put your face into any scene for free |
So its only difference is in distribution and monetization: spreading across multiple accounts with shells, buying ads only in high-paying regions, high-priced in-app purchases, and choosing low-barrier categories. Few people outside know about it yet, but the approach isn't new. The same combination of "many shells + high-priced in-app purchases + niche category" can be found in a whole series on Google Play (Xpic Ai, Zuvia / Maevra, Orvani / Nuvori all follow this pattern).
If it were you
In one line: don't follow this product, but do learn this playbook. If you try to copy the whole thing, you're betting on ad capability and account risk, and face-swap is already a crowded category.
Who it suits: overseas teams that already buy ads on Meta or TikTok, can calculate payback periods, and have a few thousand to tens of thousands of dollars in budget for testing.
Who it doesn't suit: indie developers hoping to grow through product strength or organic traffic, and anyone who has never run ads. There's no organic traffic to ride on here, and the product offers no differentiation.
How to do it:
- Take the playbook, swap out the category. Pick a category where AI produces results in one tap and before-and-after looks striking in ads (old photo restoration, pet humanization, passport photos, hairstyle try-on), and stop crowding into face swap.
- Before launch, check each country's category grossing charts and find the categories and countries where a few thousand dollars in revenue gets you into the top 100, then put the app there.
- Test 2–3 versions at once (different template focus, different pricing). Add budget to whichever has the fastest first-purchase payback and shut off the rest.
- Buy ads in high-paying regions, offer a high-price tier in in-app purchases, and treat first-day payment rate as more important than ratings.
- Use your own real company identity for accounts. Borrowed identities, garbled support emails, and blank websites all violate Google Play's developer identity and linked-account policies. Once accounts are linked and banned, the whole matrix goes down together.
How to acquire users: paid ads only, with creatives showing "selfie → template" before-and-after.
When to get in: no rush. Anyone can use this playbook; what really decides success is your own payback data. But if what you're building is face swap, the later you go, the more crowded it gets.
What would mean you read it wrong: if Vantasyx and its sister shells are taken down in bulk over the next month or two, it means Google has started cracking down on borrowed accounts and shells, and the playbook has to change. If installs drop to zero and it falls off the charts once spending stops, the business runs entirely on ad spend with little margin on payback, and you should be more conservative in your own math.

Why Vantasyx (com.van.vantyx) was able to break through
Channel: Google Play | Developer listed as: PT SUPREME PAPER SOLUTION (Indonesian paper mill) | First released 2026-09-14 | Research day 2026-11-06
Bottom line
The product itself is nothing special, just an ordinary AI face-swap template app. It charted thanks to a matrix strategy: the same team (most likely Chinese) used at least 9 different developer accounts (mostly under the names of Indonesian and Pakistani factories or companies) to publish 9 nearly identical face-swap / AI portrait apps, concentrating paid acquisition in Western Europe (UK, France, Sweden, Netherlands, Germany) and Australia, with in-app purchases priced from $3.99 to $169.99. They then placed them in the Entertainment Top Grossing chart, a low-barrier category, and with 33k installs they reached #79–88 in France's Entertainment Top Grossing and #98–106 in the UK. Vantasyx has the highest volume in this batch.
1. Basic data (source: our Google Play database, collected daily since 2026-10-29; earlier history is AppstoreSpy estimates in app_day_ext)
- Cumulative installs 32,805 (11-06), +7 over the last 5,084 days, which means 700–1,000 per day. Rating is empty, 0 reviews: the store page does not show a rating, and our review sample is 0.
- Install curve (AppstoreSpy estimate): 10-06 only had 3,145 → 10-09 7,296 → 10-12 17,139 → 10-14 19,644, gaining about 6k in 16 days, then falling back to a few hundred per day; 10-21 jumped by another +2,517; from 10-27 to 10-31 growth almost stopped (27,719 → 27,721), and from 11-01 it recovered to roughly 500–1,000 per day. This on/off step pattern is the shape left by starting and stopping paid acquisition, not the slow climb of organic word of mouth.
- Charted (chart_rank database): only on the Entertainment top grossing chart. In France it climbed from #10-30 144 to #11-04 #79 (11-06 is 88); UK #200 → #98 (11-05) → #106; Germany #173–194, Australia #112 (11-05); top free reached only #162–187 in the UK, Sweden and France.
- The AppInsider timeline (https://appinsider.io/android/app/com.van.vantyx) matches this: 10-08 first appeared in Italy, 10-14 in Sweden, 10-15 in France and the UK, 10-16 in the top 100,10-29 of the Netherlands and Sweden Top Free, 11-01 in Germany, 100,11-03 in the top 100 of France Top Grossing, and then started showing up in Australia. The target markets are Western Europe plus Australia.
- Pricing: one in-app purchase at $3.99–$169.99; store page is labeled "Contains ads, Contains in-app purchases"; PEGI 12 (Horror). Version 1.0.2,10-14 released, with the update notes reading only "Fix bug".
2. Competitors
It does AI face-swap and template-based portraits, a category that is already crowded:
| Competitors | Where | Launched | Scale | How it differs from Vantasyx |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Reface(NEOCORTEXT) | iOS / Android | 2019-12 | Play 155M installs | Established, has a brand, does video face-swaps; Vantasyx only does static templates and has no brand |
| Faceplay(INNOVATIONAL TECH) | Android / iOS | 2021-08 | 38.2M on Play, ranked in Taiwan's Photography Top Grossing at #20 | The same template face-swap + subscription model, two orders of magnitude bigger |
| FaceLab(Lyrebird) | Android / iOS | 2020-10 | Play 88.3M | Focused on aging and hairstyle-change effects |
| Pixit / MiSaree (Pixin Studio), RemakeFace, Hangover Studios Face Swap, AMOBEAR Face Swap | Android | 2024–2025 | Several million to nearly 10 million installs | Ad monetization, aimed at the mass market; Vantasyx has few installs and high-priced in-app purchases |
| Sister shells from the same team: Fantyx, Mynko, Vona, Avita, Corvia, Ambli, Mylora, Mira | Android | 2026-07 to October | 153 to 14.7k installs | Same product under different names and developer accounts, filed in Entertainment and Art & Design |
| Web tools: Pixnova, Vidnoz, Picsi.ai, Pixlr face swap | Web | — | — | Free or cheap, no app install needed |
| Big-tech features: Gemini (Nano Banana), ChatGPT image generation | Big-company features | 2025– | Huge | Free way to "put my face into a scene" |
Conclusion: it has no product-level differentiation; its edge is entirely in distribution and monetization structure.
3. Where users come from
3.1 Paid acquisition (highly credible, specific platform not verified)
- Evidence: the curve is a switch-on staircase (from 10-09 to 10-14 it jumped +16k in one go, then flatlined from 10-27 to 10-31, then switched on again at 11-01). It also charted in 7 Western European and Australian stores, all high-paying markets. On TikTok, a search for "vantasyx" returns 0 videos (TikHub). X has 0 posts in our corpus (x-radar, 60 days). No press coverage. The website is a blank "Hello World!" page. No organic traffic source can explain these 30k installs.
- Our Meta, TikTok (Europe only), and Google ad libraries show nothing for it. That is because it is not in the tracking list, so it does not prove it wasn't advertised. It is common for small apps to advertise through personal Pages or ad networks; the specific platform is unverified.
3.2 Shell-app matrix: 9 apps, 9 developer accounts, one operator behind them (confirmed)
We found 8 sister apps in our database. All of the following traits hold at once:
- The websites are all the same blank page: vantasyx.com, mynkoai.com, vona.win, qaviroapp.com, corvia.link, ambli.link, mylora.link, mirapp.app; each opens to the identical

Title
... Hello World!; - The DNS uses the same Cloudflare account: the NS records for these 8 domains are
alice.ns.cloudflare.com / mustafa.ns.cloudflare.com(Cloudflare assigns NS pairs per account; for comparison, thrumai.fun uses rachel/tosana); - The descriptions share the same template sentence: "X is a creative AI face swap and image transformation app designed to …" (Vantasyx, Fantyx, Mynko);
- The in-app purchase ranges are identical: $3.99–$169.99 (Vantasyx, Fantyx, Mynko, Avita); Vona and Mira are $5.99–$169.99, Mylora is $4.99–$169.99, Ambli is $5.99–$199.99;
- The privacy policies are all hosted on Google Sites, at addresses like
sites.google.com/view/privacypolicyof
; the support emails are all gibberish Gmail addresses (solomon68smokeloke@, vilemtgualsal7816@, nahunmedinilla@ ...); - The developer names are all companies that look entirely unrelated to AI: PT Supreme Paper Solution (Indonesian paper mill, website supremepapersolution.com sells paper products, 201–500 people on LinkedIn), PT Youngil Leather Indonesia (leather), PT Indocorr Packaging Cikarang (packaging), PT Sinergi Adimitra Jaya, PT Esolution Tech Indonesia, AKSA Converters SMC-Private (Pakistan), الهدي للبرمجيات, Orestad Pakke Shop (Denmark), Developer Iftikhar Ahmad. Under PT Supreme Paper Solution there is also a filler app, "Quiz Word Lite" (com.quizword857.wordliteksv.mjwl904). These are bought or rented organizational developer accounts: Google Play requires organization accounts to have a D-U-N-S number and a verified entity, so the operator publishes under someone else's legal entity, and if one account is banned, the others are not affected.
- The English privacy policies use the template that Chinese developers often reuse ("here in after", "Session and Available Data", "Summary Information"), so the operator is possibly a Chinese team going global (unverified).
| App | Developer name | Category | Launched | Installs (11-06) | Best rank |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mylora | الهدي للبرمجيات | Art & Design | 07-21 | 6,999 | Hong Kong Art & Design Top Grossing 103 |
| Vantasyx | PT Supreme Paper Solution | Entertainment | 09-14 | 32,805 | France Entertainment Top Grossing 79 |
| Avita | PT Esolution Tech Indonesia | Art & Design | 09-19 | 3,522 | Art & Design Top Grossing in multiple countries |
| Fantyx | AKSA Converters (Pakistan) | Entertainment | 09-28 | 14,735 | UK Entertainment Top Grossing 140 |
| Mynko | PT Sinergi Adimitra Jaya | Entertainment | 09-30 | 6,985 | UK Entertainment Top Grossing 108 |
| Ambli | Developer Iftikhar Ahmad | Art & Design | 09-30 | 10,303 | — |
| Vona | PT Youngil Leather Indonesia | Art & Design | 10-03 | 8,177 | Art & Design Top Grossing 63 |
| Corvia | PT Indocorr Packaging Cikarang | Art & Design | 10-06 | 153 | US Art & Design Top Free 193 |
| Mira | Orestad Pakke Shop | Art & Design | 10-08 | 3,691 | UK Art & Design Top Free 48 |
The 9 apps together have about 87k installs, and Vantasyx alone accounts for 38%. It looks like many shells are launched at once, and whichever one pays back fastest gets more budget. Vantasyx is currently the one outperforming.
3.3 Category choice: the Entertainment Top Grossing chart has a low bar (confirmed)
The top 100 in France Entertainment Top Grossing are almost all streaming, short dramas, and AI companion apps. Next to it are similarly small apps like Xpic Ai (42k installs, #94) and BingeDrama (28k, #93). In other words, on this chart, a few thousand dollars in monthly revenue is enough to reach the top 100. Several shells in the same matrix that are filed under Art & Design also reached #63–106 on the Art & Design Top Grossing charts of small countries (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Nigeria, Vietnam, ...).
Channels not found: 3.4
TikTok and X have no content; there are no creator or media mentions; there is no App Store version (not found on iTunes search). Download sites (CNET, Softonic, APKPure, AppBrain) just auto-index it.
4. Why users pay (inferred)
- The templates are things like "Soccer Babe", "Beauty", "Adventure Seeker", girls in magic-academy style portraits, and Viking warriors (store screenshots). One selfie gives you a good-looking "other version of yourself", and the ad creatives made from it are eye-catching;
- Monetization runs on high-priced in-app purchases (top item $169.99), and the spend is aimed at Western Europe and Australia, where users pay. Installs are modest, but each user is worth a lot. It has zero ratings and reviews, so it isn't relying on store reputation or retention; as long as first-purchase payback covers paid acquisition, it keeps spending.
5. Differentiation
- On the product: no differentiation. The features are the same as Reface, Faceplay and hundreds of other face-swap apps, and even its own 8 sister shells run the same code.
- The "difference" is in the playbook: ① Spread the launches across several borrowed developer accounts at once, so a ban doesn't take everything down and you can see which shell pays back; ② Spend only in high-price Western European and Australian markets, paired with high-priced IAPs; ③ Deliberately list in low-barrier categories like Entertainment and Art & Design, not the crowded Photography category. This playbook is why it works, not the product.
6. How many people know about it
- Revenue isn't public; no coverage on media, X or TikTok; it's only picked up automatically by data sites like AppInsider. It's not on many people's radar yet.
- But the playbook itself (shell matrix + high-priced IAPs + low-barrier categories) is common in our database, for example Xpic Ai, Zuvia / Maevra, Orvani / Nuvori. So it isn't an opportunity in itself, just another sample of an already crowded play.
7. What to borrow
- Run a batch of shells in parallel to test paid-acquisition payback, then concentrate budget on the one that works;
- When picking a category, check the category Top Grossing thresholds by country first: in Entertainment and Art & Design, a few thousand dollars in revenue can chart, and the small amount of organic exposure from charting is itself leverage;
- Pair high-priced Western European markets with high-priced IAPs and don't worry about ratings.
- Risk: borrowing other people's developer identities, garbled support emails and blank websites all violate Google Play's developer identity and linked-account policies. The risk of getting all accounts banned together (linked-account ban) is high. This approach is not recommended to copy.
8. What's uncertain
- Which platform the spend goes to (Meta, TikTok, Google UAC or ad networks) wasn't found in any of the three ad libraries; unverified.
- Actual revenue: only known that it charted in France's Entertainment Top Grossing up to 100; the amount is unverified.
- Who runs it (presumed to be a Chinese team, based only on a privacy-policy template and common practice) is unverified.
- "Contains ads" plus a PEGI Horror rating suggests the template may include horror or zombie themes; how the paywall is designed hasn't been verified by installing it.
