# A TikTok alt account with 612 followers, two videos with 2M views each: Vidmor's growth didn't come from the AI videos themselves

**What it is** An AI video and image app that bundles models like Kling, Hailuo, PixVerse and Veo, layered with prank, face-swap and AI portrait templates, sold as weekly or yearly subscriptions plus credit packs.

**Why it took off** It ran on iOS for two years, building a brand through a dozen low-follower TikTok alt accounts posting AI prank videos, with hits reaching 2M views. When August launched on Android, the "search Vidmor in the store" traffic landed on Google Play; the Photography category has a low bar, and that's how it got into Top Grossing charts in Brazil and elsewhere.

**C** **How you could follow it** Don't build another AI video app. Copy its "brand alt-account network" playbook and apply it to a category with low generation cost and emotional, meme-able content: open 10–20 TikTok accounts with the brand name in the handle, hire creators who don't need followers and pay per video, attach referral codes that return credits, and prioritize languages nobody has covered yet.

Grade C: the distribution playbook is clear and worth learning, but the AI video category is already crowded by model makers' official apps and big paid-acquisition players, and API costs are high. Vidmor's own hits also dropped from 2M views last year to a thousand or two, so copying it isn't worth the effort. Few people know about it yet

Vidmor is an AI video app whose Google Play installs rose nearly 60% in a week. Functionally it's no different from dozens of peers; what's worth watching is its distribution: a group of TikTok alt accounts with "vidmor" in their names posting AI pranks, then telling people to search its name in the store. Anyone can copy this playbook. But if you want to build another AI video app by copying it, the business doesn't look good.

### An "Am I cooked?" video

On Nov 2025 18, the TikTok account nicolevidmor posted a video captioned only "Am I cooked?", tagged #aiprank and @vidmor_ai. It got about 2M views. On Dec 20 she posted another, "Someone tell me it's going to be okay 😭💔", tagged #boyfriendprank and #breakup, again about 2M views and 1,376 comments.

The account has only 612 followers, and its bio reads "Search Vidmor on the App Store".

The gimmick is simple: make a fake photo with AI, such as yourself injured, with a buzz cut, or on a date with someone else, send it to your boyfriend or parents, and record their reaction. The photo was made with Vidmor.

The same pattern shows up across a whole set of accounts: marta_vidmor (159 followers, two "which photo looks best" AI portraits with 440k and 410k views), jayssvidmor (bio says "Sponsored with @vidmor_ai", tennis-injury prank), dani.vidmor (in Filipino, one video at 158k), plus a dozen more "name+vidmor" accounts like gosia, olga, elena and ally.

### What it is

Vidmor is an AI video and image app from a small Hong Kong company called Appinnovators. It doesn't build its own models; it aggregates them: Kling, Hailuo (MiniMax), PixVerse, Wan, Seedance and Google Veo are all plugged in, with a template layer on top for pranks, face swaps, lip-sync, dancing and AI portraits. Monetization uses a soft paywall at launch, offering a choice between a weekly and a yearly subscription; if you close it, a "special offer" pops up again. The app also has credits, granted for daily check-ins and for inviting friends, and prompts you to buy more once they run out. In-app purchases run from $6.99 to $349.99 (Play Store page).

This team has only one real product; its two other mini-games have just 0 to 1 ratings each.

### Why now: not a new product, but a move

Vidmor isn't new. The iOS version launched in November 2024, collected over 5,700 ratings in the US store, and at its peak charted #39 on the US Graphics & Design Top Grossing chart (App Store, 11-06). The Android version only launched in August 2026 12.

So this Android wave is really two years of iOS brand-building paying off on a new platform. Those TikTok videos kept saying "search Vidmor in the store", and as early as June an alt account was posting "download VIDMOR IN GOOGLE OR APPLE STORE". Once the Android version went live, those searches had somewhere to land (inference).

The Google Play numbers (10-29 → 11-06):

| | 10-29 | 11-02 | 11-06 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Installs | 30,572 | 42,252 | 48,717 |
| Score | 1,807 | 2,499 | 3,155 |

Over a week, 18k installs across 24 countries and charted. The most visible is Brazil's Photography Top Grossing chart, climbing from #33 to #23–24; the US chart for the same category rose from #102 to #59–66.

Discount these ranks. Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, the UAE, South Africa, Saudi Arabia and Nigeria all show the same rank every day (63), which looks like one shared aggregate chart with a very low bar. The Photography category is itself thin, so it doesn't take much revenue to crack the list.

Another odd thing: the rating count is about 6.5% of the install count, with 120 to 240 new ratings every day, yet only 21 reviews have written text. That ratio is abnormally high, and it looks like an in-app prompt asking for stars. Whether ratings are being bought with points is unverified.

One more signal that matters more to anyone thinking of following this: the million-view hits all cluster between November 2025 and February 2026. By 2026, nicolevidmor's new videos mostly get one or two thousand views, and marta_vidmor posted five videos in one day in October 31, each under 1,000 (TikTok, 11-06). The side accounts are still posting, but the hits have dried up.

### Where users come from

| Channel | How it's done | Confidence |
|---|---|---|
| TikTok brand side accounts | A dozen-plus accounts with 100–660 followers, all named with vidmor, all bios saying "search it in the store," posting AI pranks and AI portraits | Confirmed |
| Recruiting creators who don't need followers | 2025-10-14 posted on Reddit r/UGCcreators with the title "[Paid] UGC for Top-Ranked AI Video App (No followers required)," and the poster said they were from the Vidmor.ai team | Confirmed |
| Referral codes | Creators say their code in the video ("JEN100", "liv10", "100 free coins"), with onelink links, and new users get points | Confirmed |
| The official account riding memes | @vidmor_ai has 12.7k followers and 800+ videos, mashing Game of Thrones, Hogwarts, and Avengers characters into trending memes, with single posts getting a few thousand to 30k+ views. The caption is always "Link in bio for free credits." | Confirmed |
| Paid acquisition | The iOS version has run Meta ads with creatives from 3 pages, all of which were stopped 79 to 341 days ago. Whether the Android version has been advertised in this wave can't be seen from the outside. | Unknown |

Pricing for this kind of "app UGC" has a going rate: in October 2026, per-video pay was typically $25–50, plus view bonuses (per ugcjobs.com's figures). At that rate, a dozen-plus accounts posting several hundred videos a month works out to a few thousand to $10–20K in spend (estimated), while a single 2M-view video can pay back several months of it.

### Where the money comes from

Revenue is hard to see from outside. Two data sites' estimates differ by 25×: ScreensDesign estimates about $250K a month, AppGoblin estimates under $10K. Neither can be verified.

A few things are certain. The $349.99 credit pack shows someone is spending a lot at once. Weekly plus annual subscriptions, plus a second prompt after closing the paywall, is one of the more aggressive monetization setups in the industry. Also, every AI video generation pays a model API fee, so gross margins are much thinner than for AI image or utility apps (inferred).

### Who it's competing with

This category is already crowded, and the competitors are big (Google Play installs, 11-06):

| Product | Scale | How Vidmor differs |
|---|---|---|
| PixVerse | 79.6M | The official app for its own model; Vidmor wires it in too |
| Kling AI (Kuaishou) | 34.8M | Uses only its own model |
| Hailuo (MiniMax) | 27.8M | Official app |
| Vidix(Supercool Labs) | 30.2M, +700k a week | Same template-wrapper approach, relying on paid acquisition, at 600× Vidmor's scale |
| Nexus / Lynix(DQL TechLab) | 12.4M / 9.06M | Tool maker pushing volume, Android first |
| Mivora / Phant AI | 8.4M / 12M | Similar template apps |
| CapCut, Picsart, Canva | Hundreds of millions | AI generation bolted onto an existing editor |

Vidmor has 49k installs on Play. It survives on a name people actively search for and a few users willing to pay more, not on features or scale.

### Not many people know about it yet

No public revenue, the founders stay out of sight, there's no press coverage, and nobody discusses it on X. Apart from auto-generated pages on data sites, almost no one has written about it. That's good for a follower. But what's uncrowded is the name "Vidmor"; the "AI video app" category is long since saturated.

### If it were you

**Verdict** : don't build yet another AI video app. Copy Vidmor's distribution playbook and apply it to another category. Copying it directly means competing with PixVerse, Kling, and the model makers themselves, plus Vidix-style shops that buy 700k installs a week, and API costs run higher here than in other categories. What a follower can actually take is the brand side-account matrix.

**Who it suits** : a small team that already has, or is about to build, a consumer app whose content can become emotional memes, such as AI portraits, AI outfit swaps, pranks, voiceovers, or photo restoration. The team needs someone who understands TikTok pacing and can manage dozens of videos a week.

**Who it doesn't suit** : anyone hoping to win on features (there's no moat there); anyone who can't afford the upfront model API bills; anyone who only wants to run Meta ads and won't nurture accounts.

**How to do it** : pick a product with low generation cost, results you can understand at a glance, and something suited to pranking or showing off. Images work better than video. For monetization, copy their approach: a soft paywall, weekly and annual subscriptions, and points from daily check-ins and referrals. Prove it on one platform first, then move to a second, so the brand searches built on the first platform flow into the new one.

**How to get users** : open 10–20 TikTok accounts named "name + brand," all with bios saying "search X in the store." Recruit creators who don't need followers on places like r/UGCcreators, paying per video plus view bonuses. Content should sell emotion, not features: tricking a boyfriend, tricking parents, "which photo looks best." Each creator gets a referral code, and new users get points. The language can move down-market: Vidmor's side accounts mostly post in English, with only occasional Tagalog, and prank memes for Portuguese, Spanish, and Indonesian markets have likely not been systematically covered (inferred).

**Timing** : this playbook still works today, but Vidmor's own hits have fallen from 2M views at the end of 2025 to one or two thousand now, which suggests a single meme's shelf life is only a few months. If you try it, first test memes over one month with a few dozen videos, find one that reliably gets 100k+ views, and only then add accounts.

**Signs you've got it wrong** : (1) your side accounts post a full 100 videos and none gets past 100k views, meaning the playbook is already played out in your category or language; (2) TikTok starts mass-throttling "name + brand" accounts, and Vidmor's side accounts disappear or their views drop to zero across the board; (3) Vidmor's Play installs keep rising by tens of thousands a week with no new hits, which would mean it's buying ads behind the scenes, the side-account matrix is just a facade, and the "no ad spend" story doesn't hold.

Where users come from

- **Verified** **TikTok UGC side-account matrix** : TikHub turns up a batch of accounts with vidmor in the name: nicolevidmor, jayssvidmor, marta_vidmor, dani.vidmor, gosia.vidmor, olga.vidmor, elena.vidmor, ally.vidmor, ela.vidmorai, vidmorangel, and more. Each has 100–660 followers and 50–230 posts, with bios saying "Search Vidmor on the App Store"; jayssvidmor states "Sponsored with @vidmor_ai." The content is "AI pranks" (a fake injury photo, a fake haircut to trick parents and partners) and AI portraits. The hits: nicolevidmor's two top posts each at about 2M views, marta_vidmor 410K, dani.vidmor (Philippines) 160K.

- **Verified** **Reddit / platform recruiting UGC creators** : 2025-10-14 posted on r/UGCcreators with the title "[Paid] UGC for Top-Ranked AI Video App (No followers required)," and the poster said they were from the Vidmor.ai team.

- **Verified** **Referral codes / points for new users** : on TikTok, kassidy_cabral, marlenethalia ("100 free coins"), jennyrowell (JEN100), liv.h050 (liv10), nellgalore, and others post referral codes. In-app check-ins and inviting friends both give points (ScreensDesign).

- **Verified** **Official account riding trending memes** : @vidmor_ai has 12.7K followers and 811 posts, mixing celebrities and film/TV IP into the Night at the Roxbury meme and Wednesday doing the Brazilian dance. Single posts get 5K to 34K views, with the caption "Link in bio to get FREE credits."

- Inferred **Meta ads** : AppFuel shows ads from 3 Meta pages for the iOS version, all stopped 79–341 days ago. Our metaads library didn't track them. The tiktokads library (Europe only) shows no_ads.

- Inferred **Brand spillover into Play search** : TikTok content keeps saying "search Vidmor," and vidmorangel 2026-06 wrote "download VIDMOR IN GOOGLE OR APPLE STORE." Once the Android version went live, those searches naturally landed on Play. This is an inference.

- Inferred **Prompting for ratings** : the ratio of rating count to install count is about 6.5%, with 120–240 new ratings added steadily each day, yet only 21 have written text. This looks like an in-app prompt asking for stars (whether points are given for ratings is unverified).

## Why Vidmor (Al Video Generator - Vidmor) is getting traction

- Channel: Google Play, package name com.vidmor.android.aivideo

- Developer: Appinnovators limited (on iOS it's APPINNOVATORS LIMITED, Hong Kong; email vidmor.lilong@gmail.com; website vidmor.ai)

- Research date: 2026-11-06

### Bottom line

This isn't a newly emerging product. It launched on iOS 2024-11 and only came to Android in 2026-08. The brand was built on a batch of TikTok "xxx.vidmor" UGC side accounts posting AI pranks and AI portraits, all with bios saying "Search Vidmor in the store," plus referral codes that give points. When the Android version launched, it caught the spillover from brand searches, and it charted in the aggregated Top Grossing lists for Brazil and a group of small countries by riding the low-barrier Photography category. The features themselves are about the same as dozens of similar apps. What made it work is distribution.

### 1. Data (googleplay / appstore libraries)

| Date | Play installs | Score | Average |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10-29 | 30,572 | 1,807 | 4.53 |
| 11-02 | 42,252 | 2,499 | 4.73 |
| 11-06 | 48,717 | 3,155 | 4.58 |

- Installs +18,145 in 7 days (about +59%), charting in 24 countries.

- Top Grossing (Photography): Brazil moved up from 33 (10-29) to 23 (11-04) and 24 (11-06); the US moved from 102 up to 59–66. Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, the UAE, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, and Nigeria all show identical daily rankings (all #63), meaning it's the same aggregated chart with a very low bar.

- Top Free (Photography): Sweden moved up from 54 to 30, Poland #53, Taiwan #57, Spain #63.

- Anomaly: ratings are about 6.5% of installs, rising steadily by 120–240 a day, yet only 21 reviews have text. This looks a lot like an in-app prompt begging for stars (whether points are being traded for reviews is unverified). 1-star counts bounce between 67 and 212.

- Version: 1.0.8 (10-22), 1.0.9 (10-30); in-app purchases $6.99–$349.99.

- iOS version (id6737960820): 2024-11-13 launched, currently v2.6.0, 5,721 US ratings, average 4.37; best US Graphics & Design Top Grossing rank #39, Brazil 30, Mexico 31, Turkey 25, India 17. But US ratings only grew about 25 between 10-28 and 11-06, so the iOS core market looks like it's slowing (appstore library).

- The same developer has two more casual iOS games (Color Art Sort, Dart Balloon Pop, ratings 0–1), so this is a small team and Vidmor is its only main product.

### 2. What the product is

- A multi-model aggregator. The text-to-video page on vidmor.ai lists Pixverse V5/V5.5/V6, Wan 3.0, Kling 3.0, Seedance 1.0–2.5, Google Veo 3.1, MiniMax / Hailuo and others.

- Features cover template-based video/image generation, text-to-video, image-to-video, first/last frame, lip-sync digital humans, motion transfer, face swap, VibeMV beat-synced videos, sound effect generation, and video upscaling.

- Monetization (from ScreensDesign's teardown): a soft paywall on app open, offering an annual or weekly subscription; after dismissal, a second "Special Offer" comparison table pops up; a credits economy where daily check-ins and friend invites both grant credits, and a prompt appears when credits run out.

- There's a web version at vidmor.ai, but the main product is on mobile.

### 3. Competitors (Play data from googleplay library 2026-11-06)

| Product | Platform | Launched | Scale | How Vidmor differs |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PixVerse | Android | 2024-09 | 79.6M installs | The official app of a proprietary model; Vidmor also plugs this model in |
| Kling AI | Android | 2025-01 | 34.8M | Kuaishou's in-house model, using only its own models |
| Hailuo AI | Android | 2025-01 | 27.8M | MiniMax's official app |
| Vidix(Supercool Labs) | Android | 2025-11 | 30.2M, 7 days +700k | Same template-wrapper approach, driven by paid acquisition, 600x larger |
| Nexus / Lynix(DQL TechLab) | Android | 2026-03 | 12.4M / 9.06M | Tool maker pushing volume, Android first |
| Mivora / Phant AI(CamSoft) | Android | 2025–2026 | 8.4M / 12M | Similar template apps |
| HeyGen, Runway | Android | 2025-11 / 2026-04 | About 2M+ | Leans professional and marketing-oriented |
| Higgsfield, Pollo AI, etc. | Web | 2024–2025 | Not verified | Web-based multi-model aggregator, aimed at power users |
| CapCut / Picsart / Canva | Big-company features | — | Hundreds of millions of installs | AI generation bolted onto an editor |

Bottom line: the category is extremely crowded. Vidmor is small on Play (49k installs). What it has going for it is the value of each user and brand search, not scale.

### 4. Growth tactics (evidence)

1. **TikTok UGC alt-account network (confirmed, this is the main engine)** . Searching TikHub for "vidmor" and "@vidmor_ai" turns up a batch of accounts with the brand as a name suffix:
    - nicolevidmor: 612 followers, 110 posts, bio reads "Search Vidmor on the App Store"; 2025-11-18 post "Am I cooked?" has about 2M views, 2025-12-20 "Someone tell me it's going to be okay" about 2M.
    - jayssvidmor: 660 followers, 229 posts, bio says "Sponsored with @vidmor_ai"; content is tennis injury pranks, several posts with 14k to 140k views.
    - marta_vidmor: 159 followers, 212 posts, bio "download vidmor"; one post with 410k views.
    - dani.vidmor (Filipino-language content): 109 followers; one post with 158k views.
    - There are also gosia.vidmor, olga.vidmor, elena.vidmor, ally.vidmor (36k views), ela.vidmorai, ellaavidmor, benb.vidmor, vidmorangel and more.
    - The core content is "AI pranks": photoshopped injuries, buzz cuts, and photos of dating someone else, sent to parents or partners to get their reaction. Secondary content is AI portraits (Victoria's Secret angels, LinkedIn headshots).
    - This is the classic "paid UGC creators, no followers needed" playbook: spam volume and bet on the algorithm producing a hit.

2. **Public UGC creator recruitment (confirmed)** . 2025-10-14 An r/UGCcreators post, "[Paid] UGC for Top-Ranked AI Video App (No followers required)", where the poster says they are "the team behind Vidmor.ai, an AI video app featured on the U.S. App Store charts" (from a Brave search snippet; Reddit body text was blocked by 403 when scraped).

3. **Referral code acquisition (confirmed)** . kassidy_cabral ("My referral code is Kassidy"), marlenethalia ("100 free coins"), jennyrowell (JEN100), liv.h050 (liv10), nellgalore and others; links go through onelink (vidmoraiartimage.onelink.me).

4. **Official account riding film and celebrity memes (confirmed)** . @vidmor_ai has 12,700 followers, 811 posts, and 17,250 likes. From 2026-08 to 09 it ran a round of film-franchise "Night at the Roxbury" meme remixes (Game of Thrones, Hogwarts, the Avengers, The Hobbit), with individual posts getting 6k to 34k views. There was also a Wednesday Brazilian dance trend and a Haaland meme. The captions all say "Link in bio to get FREE credits."

5. **Paid ads (unconfirmed)** . On AppFuel, the iOS version shows 3 ad creatives from Meta pages, all of which stopped running 79–341 days ago. Our metaads library hasn't tracked this advertiser; the tiktokads library (which only covers ads targeted at Europe) marks it as no_ads. We can't see whether there is any paid acquisition on Android this round.

6. **Brand spillover into Play search (inferred)** . All the UGC says "search Vidmor", and 2026-06 vidmorangel wrote "download VIDMOR IN GOOGLE OR APPLE STORE". Once the Android listing is up, that search traffic lands directly on Play.

7. X / media: x-radar shows 0 posts mentioning "vidmor" in the past 90 days; no media coverage found.

### 5. Why it took off

- **An old product moved to a new platform** : it has run on iOS for two years and already has a US Top Grossing rank and TikTok creatives in the millions of views, plus brand recognition. Android just adds a platform on top of existing demand.

- **Low-cost content distribution** : mass-posting AI pranks from "no followers needed" UGC alt accounts. Each post costs little, and an occasional 2M-view hit is enough.

- **The hook is emotion, not features** : pranks, fake breakups and AI portraits all invite sharing and imitation, and the template makes them one tap to copy.

- **Aggregating multiple models** : new models (Veo 3.1, Seedance 2.x, Kling 3.0, Wan 3.0) get plugged in as soon as they ship. For beginners, "everything in one app" is the appeal.

- **Category choice** : the Photography category has a low bar on the aggregated Top Grossing charts in smaller countries. Brazil at #23–24 is its most visible signal.

- **Aggressive monetization** : weekly subscriptions, annual subscriptions, credit packs, plus a second popup. The top in-app purchase is $349.99, which suggests there are heavy paying users.

### 6. Differentiation, and whether that's why it took off

The product itself differs little: multi-model plus templates, and dozens of Play apps do the same. Its real edge is acquisition: a branded UGC alt-account network, native prank-style content, and referral codes that return credits, which turned "Vidmor" into a name people actively search for. So the differentiator is the distribution playbook, and that is exactly why it has grown. Android growth is essentially the iOS brand paying off on Android.

### 7. Visibility

Few people know about it yet: no public revenue, the founders stay out of view, there's no media coverage, and no discussion on X. The only things out there are auto-generated pages on data sites, whose revenue estimates contradict each other: ScreensDesign estimates $250k monthly revenue and 60k monthly installs; AppGoblin estimates under $10k/month and 500k cumulative installs. Neither number is verified.

### 8. What others can learn

1. Name the accounts with a brand suffix, open a dozen or so low-follower UGC accounts, and use bios that uniformly say "search X in the store", turning TikTok traffic into store search.

2. Recruit "no followers required" creators in places like r/UGCcreators, paying per post.

3. Sell emotional memes (pranks, portraits) rather than features.

4. Referral codes plus check-in credits, so free users recruit for you too.

5. Prove it on one platform, then move to another to capture brand search spillover; pick categories like Photography where the Top Grossing bar is low.

### 9. Still unclear

- Real revenue (the two estimates differ by 25x).

- Whether there is paid acquisition on Android this round (we can't see Meta or US TikTok).

- Why the ratings count is abnormally high, and whether the app trades credits for good reviews.

- Whether the Play launch date 2026-08-12 was reset (2026-06 someone already mentioned "the Google store"; apppage.net recorded an early state of 1K+ installs and 213 ratings).

- US iOS ratings are growing very slowly. Is the core market declining, and is Android filling the gap?
