A 50k-view Facebook tutorial brought 15k installs in one day: how a small Pakistani studio stocked an AI prompt library

What it is An Android app with AI photo prompts sorted into portraits, couples, selfies and more. Each prompt comes with a preview image and gets copied with one tap into Gemini or ChatGPT. Free, earns from ads.

Why it took off India's Nano Banana photo trend sent people to search Play for prompts. The developer published several look-alike apps to grab the search terms. Then South Asian Facebook tutorial creators named it in their videos, and a single reel could bring in tens of thousands of installs in a day.

CHow you could follow it Stop crowding into the South Asian image-prompt slot. Copy the template, and watch which language the next mass-market AI trend breaks out in first. Within two or three weeks, ship a few localized prompt libraries and find local tutorial creators to drive installs.

C grade: the template is cheap and the playbook is learnable, but the category already has dozens of copies, and the app itself is mid-tier. Gemini is also building prompt inspiration into its own product. Following this exact app isn't worth it. Following the next wave, with many accounts and fast launches, might be. Few people know about it yet

Data 2026-10-29 → 2026-11-07 (10 days, 10 observations). Google's detail page only refreshes install counts every other day, so a flat day doesn't mean nobody installed.

In 2026 October 8, a new Facebook account called Awi Gul posted a reel teaching viewers to make "3D miniature chef" AI videos. Step one: open an app called CoolPrompt and copy a prompt from inside it. The video got 53k views and 926 likes. The same day, CoolPrompt's cumulative installs on Google Play rose by about 15k. The app is three months old with 210k installs. Nothing about it is special. It is one of six or seven near-identical apps a small Pakistani studio put out at the same time. Below: how it grew, how it makes money, and whether this kind of thing is still worth chasing.

What it is

An Android "AI photo prompt gallery." Prompts are sorted into portraits, women, men, couples, kids, selfies and video. Each has a preview image and a one-tap copy, and then you jump to Gemini or ChatGPT to generate. The store page says "Free, no subscription" and is labeled "Contains ads."

The developer is WAHA Studios Official, a small company in Malakand, Pakistan, run by Syed Waris. First released 2026-08-04, last updated 10-21.

Why would anyone want a "prompt app"?

In 2025 September, Gemini's Nano Banana photo editing exploded in India. The Hindustan Times ran the headline "India goes bananas for Google Gemini," saying global generations had passed 500M, with India leading. Saree portraits, retro Hong Kong looks, couple photos, and posing with celebrities were all made from a single prompt.

A playbook grew up on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube Shorts across South Asia: a creator posts an AI-edited photo with the caption "comment 'prompt' and I'll DM you the prompt." These videos regularly hit hundreds of thousands of views. Users who got tired of waiting for DMs searched Play for "AI photo prompt" or "Gemini prompt," and that search fed dozens of prompt-gallery apps. The category leader GoPrompt has 2.27M installs (Google Play, 11-06), showing how big that search pool is.

How fast it grew

Cumulative installs (AppstoreSpy estimates; 11-06 uses Google Play data):

9-16About 57k
Day 90 (11-02)About 211k

Normally one to three thousand a day, with a few jumps: about 34k added between 9-16 and 9-18 over two days, about 18k in a single day on 10-04, and about 15k in a single day on 10-08. That shape looks more like a short video driving a burst, or the app climbing a search term, than sustained paid acquisition (inference). After late October it settled back to one to two thousand a day.

The app only charted in the Art & Design Top Free category in three stores: UAE, India and Saudi Arabia, ranking #88 to #188 (10-29 to 11-06). It never reached the overall chart or Top Grossing.

Where users come from

Play search. That's the foundation. "Prompt" is in the name, so it competes with dozens of copies for the same search terms.

South Asian AI tutorial creators. Beyond the opening Awi Gul reel, Indian creator Mr. SUHAIL has a "make thumbnails like MrBeast" video (23k views) that uses a thumbnail prompt from CoolPrompt. Its Souvik teaches "how to make cartoon vlogs," with the workflow pulling the prompt from CoolPrompt and generating in Google Flow. An account called Awais Khan posted "Everyone Try this Super App ✅👍" with #coolprompt, getting only 214 views (posted 10-19). Awi Gul and Awais Khan both have Pashto names, are from the same region as the developer, have very new profiles, and use the same caption template. They could be the developer's own accounts or those of collaborators (unverified).

Multiple accounts run by the same person. Syed Waris controls at least two developer accounts, WAHA Studios and WAHA Studios Official. Another account called "The KeyBoards" publishes PromptMix, and its package name also starts with com.wahastudios. This matrix put out MixPrompt (710k), PromptMix (120k), Pixsnap (108k) and CoolPrompt (210k), and later PromptLeez (32k in two weeks) (10-19). WAHA's own website describes its business as "SEO, social media marketing, and Play Store listing and store optimization." It's the same content with the same ad monetization, relaunched repeatedly under new names, icons and accounts, with each package taking a different spot for the search terms. Which one takes off is luck.

Paid acquisition: none found. Neither Meta's nor Google's public ad libraries show ads for this app or any WAHA package. Not finding them doesn't prove there were none, but pure ad monetization in South Asia rarely pays back paid acquisition.

Where the money comes from

AdMob ads only. The terms page is clear: completely free, no coins, no unlock walls. It uses native, interstitial and rewarded ads, and if a rewarded video plays before you copy a prompt, you have to watch it through. Revenue isn't visible from outside, and it has no Top Grossing rank. South Asian ad rates are low, so 210k installs probably don't earn much (inference).

User reactions tell the same story. The India store shows 4.1 stars from 171 reviews. The most-liked review (9-12,16 people found it helpful) says "crashes every time I open it." The second says "one ad every 4 images, this is an ad app, not a prompt app" (9-06).

Who it's competing with

Further down is a long tail of apps with thousands to tens of thousands of installs, and web pages full of SEO blogs titled "100 Gemini prompts." The bigger threat is upstream. According to the Hindustan Times, Google is testing a prompt-inspiration feed inside the Gemini app. Gemini has also added the ability to generate from a personal photo without writing a long prompt. The day users no longer need to copy prompts from somewhere else, this category has no reason to exist.

On this table, CoolPrompt is mid-tier, not a breakout.

What it actually wins on

Not the product. The content matches dozens of other apps, and the terms say the prompts and previews "may come from third parties." "Completely free, no coins" is only relative to the coin model of Prompt Seen and PromptLeez, and watching a rewarded video before copying is still a paywall in practice. It reached 210k because of three things: the category has search traffic, the developer knows ASO well and runs several packages at once, and South Asian local-language short tutorials name the app.

If it were you

Verdict: neither CoolPrompt itself nor the "Indian Gemini photo prompt" slot is worth crowding into. The template is what's worth learning: when a mass-market AI trend breaks out in one country, a "prompt gallery + rewarded video" catches the search traffic fastest, at almost no content cost.

Who it suits: Android tool teams that know ASO and can maintain several developer accounts at once, people with access to local-language AI tutorial creators, and people who can launch within one or two weeks of a trend appearing.

Who it doesn't suit: people building a long-term product or hoping for subscriptions (users come, copy one prompt and leave, and Gemini is building this into itself), and solo founders with one account who expect to win by making a nicer app. Here nobody competes on content. They compete on package count and launch speed.

How to do it: don't make the 50th South Asian image-prompt library. Watch the next mass-market AI trend (a new video model, a new photo effect) and see which country and language break out first. When that language has no localized prompt app yet, ship one template in two or three skins within the window and stuff the titles with local search terms. Do what CoolPrompt didn't: fewer ads, no crashes, complete video prompts. Easy Prompt overtook it in 25 days on the strength of video prompts, reaching nearly 3 times its installs.

How to get users: start with Play search; then find local creators on Facebook and Instagram who make "AI photo edit" tutorials and have them name the app in their videos. One reel with 50k views can bring tens of thousands of installs in a day. Don't expect paid ads to pay back.

When to move: follow the trend and launch within two or three weeks of the playbook taking off. This Nano Banana wave in India is more than a year old, and the window has basically closed.

Where this analysis could be wrong: (1) After Gemini officially ships a built-in prompt feed, the leading apps like GoPrompt and Easy Prompt still hold their weekly installs. That would mean users want more than prompts, and the category has more staying power than assumed. (2) The other way: Play starts pulling same-template prompt apps in bulk. Then the matrix strategy gets more expensive, and this path needs recalculating.

Where users come from
  • Verified Play Store search (category demand): category leader GoPrompt has 2.27M installs, which suggests "AI photo prompt / Gemini prompt" search traffic is large. CoolPrompt only shows up on the Art & Design chart, so its growth is mostly search-driven.
  • Verified Same-developer multi-account matrix: WAHA Studios, WAHA Studios Official, and The KeyBoards publish MixPrompt, PromptMix, Pixsnap, CoolPrompt, PromptLeez, and similar clones. The website claims SEO, social media marketing, and Play listing optimization.
  • Inferred South Asian Facebook / Instagram AI photo-editing tutorial creators: Awi Gul's reel 10-08 has 53k views, and search snippets describe it as a CoolPrompt tutorial, with installs up about 15k the same day. Mr. SUHAIL, Its Souvik and Awais Khan also mention CoolPrompt. Whether any of these are paid, or whether they are developer alt accounts, is unverified.
  • Inferred Paid acquisition (Meta / Google): No matches in the metaads or googleads libraries, but both libraries only track listed advertisers, so that doesn't rule it out.
  • Verified Third-party APK sites: APKPure, Softonic, apk.gold, Uptodown, and AppBrain all list it, which is passive distribution.

Why CoolPrompt - Prompt Generator (com.wahastudios.coolprompt) broke out

Channel: Google Play. Developer: WAHA Studios Official (WAHA STUDIOS (SMC-PRIVATE) LIMITED, Malakand, Pakistan; contact Syed Waris). First launched 2026-08-04. Research date 2026-11-06.

One line

This is an "AI photo-edit prompt gallery" app: it sorts preview images and prompts into categories (portraits / women / men / couples / kids / selfies / video), lets you copy a prompt with one tap, then jumps to Gemini or ChatGPT to generate the image. The whole app is free, and it makes money from AdMob ads, with a rewarded video popping up before you copy a prompt. There's nothing special about it. It's one of dozens of near-identical prompt galleries that appeared from India and Pakistan after the September Nano Banana craze in 2025. It hit 210k installs thanks to three things: the category already has traffic (the short-video culture of "comment and get prompts", plus Play search), small AI-editing creators across South Asian Facebook and Instagram driving installs, and developers launching several copycat apps at once. Against same-period copycats, it's mid-pack, not standout.

1. Data

  • Installs: 213,982 (googleplay library app_profile, 2026-11-06). Last 7 days +11,051. The store shows the 100K+ tier.
  • Trajectory since launch (googleplay library app_day_ext, AppstoreSpy estimates): 8-12 had 1,752; day 30 (9-03) about 38.5k; 9-16 about 57k; day 90 (11-02) 211k. Normally about 1–3 thousand per day, with a few single-day spikes:
    • 9-16→9-18 two days up about 34k (about 17k/day)
    • 10-03→10-04 up about 17.9k
    • 10-07→10-08 up about 15.1k
    • 10-12→10-13 up about 6 thousand/day. This shape looks more like one short video driving a burst, or a jump up a search ranking, than sustained paid acquisition. After late October, daily adds fell back to 1–2 thousand.
  • Charts: only on the free Art & Design charts in the UAE, India, and Saudi Arabia, ranking between #88 and #188 (googleplay library chart_rank, 10-29 to 11-06). Best showing was #88 in the UAE (11-01, 11-02). Never on the overall chart or the Top Grossing chart.
  • Ratings: the India store page shows 4.1 stars and 171 reviews (scraped from the Play page by Jina, 2026-11-06). 210k installs with only 171 reviews is a very low ratio, with no sign of fake reviews. The most-liked negative reviews say "crashes on open" and "one ad every 4 images, more ads than prompts" (2026-09).
  • Monetization: the terms page says it's completely free, with no coins and no paywall. It uses Google AdMob native, interstitial, and rewarded ads. Copying a prompt where a rewarded video is available requires watching an ad first; otherwise copying is direct (terms, help page).
  • Revenue: not visible. No Top Grossing ranking.

  • On the web: PromptSeen web, promptapk.com, PromptPlum, plus a flood of SEO blogs with "Gemini prompts 100" listicles.
  • Big tech: according to the Hindustan Times, Google is testing an inspiration / prompt feed inside the Gemini app (HT). Gemini has also launched a feature that generates from personal photos without a long prompt (Google blog). Both directly erode this category's reason to exist.

For comparison: CoolPrompt on day 30 about 39k, day 90 about 210k; Easy Prompt day 30 114k, day 70 590k; Zee Prompt day 30 4.3 thousand, day 90 130k (all AppstoreSpy estimates). CoolPrompt is mid-pack in this category, not a breakout.

3. Where users come from

3.1 Category-level demand (confirmed)

  • From September 2025, Gemini Nano Banana exploded in India. The Hindustan Times wrote "India goes bananas for Google Gemini," reporting over 500M images generated, with India as the top country (HT). Saree, retro, couple, and celebrity-photo "prompt edits" became mass-market.
  • A "comment for prompts" play took hold on Instagram / Facebook / YouTube Shorts in South Asia. Searching TikHub for "ai photo prompt app" turns up many similar videos with hundreds of thousands of views (e.g., rawframe_gemini 900k, layalprompts 1M).
  • Ordinary users find waiting for DMs in comments too slow, so they search Play for "AI photo prompt" or "Gemini prompt." That gave dozens of gallery apps a shared pool of search traffic.

3.2 South Asian AI photo tutorial creators (evidence exists, small scale, whether paid is unverified)

  • Facebook user Awi Gul posted an AI video tutorial reel on 2026-10-08, with 53k views and 926 likes (FB). The search engine summary titles it "CoolPrompt AI Video Tutorial: Create 3D Miniature Chef Videos." CoolPrompt rose about 15k in a single day the same day (app_day_ext 10-07→10-08).
  • Facebook user Awais Khan posted "Everyone Try this Super App" on 2026-10-19, tagged #coolprompt, with 214 views (FB).
  • Indian creator Mr. SUHAIL has a "how to make thumbnails like MrBeast" reel with 23k views; the search summary says it uses CoolPrompt's Thumbnail prompt (FB).
  • Indian creator Its Souvik has a "how to make cartoon vlog videos" post; the search summary says the workflow pulls the main prompt from the CoolPrompt app, then generates with Google Flow (FB).
  • On YouTube, "Be Live World" posted a CoolPrompt usage tutorial with 89 views (YT).
  • Awi Gul and Awais Khan are both Pashtun names, in the same region as the developer. Both profiles are very new (IDs 61592… / 61573…), and the captions use the same template ("Ai Videos Tutorial ✅👍", "Everyone Try this Super App ✅👍"). Possibly the developer's own or partner alt accounts; unverified.

3.3 Play Store search and same-developer matrix (matrix confirmed, traffic effect unverified)

  • The same owner, Syed Waris, has at least two developer accounts: WAHA Studios (7840146860627541745) and WAHA Studios Official (5058891362189680298). A separate "The KeyBoards" account holds PromptMix, whose package name is com.wahastudios.PromptMix.
  • This matrix launched MixPrompt (710k), PromptMix (120k), Pixsnap (108k), CoolPrompt (210k), PromptLeez (10-19 launched, 32k in two weeks), and Upsora (photo editing) in quick succession. MixPrompt's developer site apkhos.com is actually a Urdu "Promptify – AI Prompt Generator" landing page, used to drive installs.
  • The WAHA website describes itself as doing "SEO, social media marketing, Play Store listing and store optimization" (wahastudios.org). The developers' core business is ASO and social media outsourcing.
  • The playbook is clear: the same prompt content, the same AdMob monetization, with apps repeatedly relaunched under new names, icons, and accounts, each competing for different "prompt" search terms. Which one takes off is largely luck.

3.4 Paid acquisition (checked, none found)

  • Neither our Meta ad library nor our Google ad library has any ads landing on CoolPrompt or any WAHA package name. But both libraries only track listed advertisers, so no results doesn't mean no spend.
  • In a pure ad-monetization market with very low eCPM like South Asia, paid acquisition is hard to pay back. The curve shape also doesn't look like sustained paid spend.

3.5 Other

  • Third-party APK sites (APKPure, Softonic, apk.gold, Uptodown, AppBrain) auto-indexed it, which is passive distribution.
  • No mentions on X (x-radar: 90 posts in the last 0 days), and no press coverage.

4. Why it took off

  1. Category demand is real: Nano Banana / Gemini photo editing is mass-market in India, and "needing prompts" is a genuine need. Category leader GoPrompt has 2.27M installs, showing the Play search pool is sizable.
  2. Dev-savvy ASO and mass uploads: one owner, six or seven clone apps, accounts recycled to re-list. CoolPrompt is just one ticket. Its sibling MixPrompt in the same cluster grew faster (710k, 7 days, +47k).
  3. South Asian short-form tutorials drive installs: the jump on 10-08 lines up with an FB reel from Awi Gul that pulled 53k views the same day. Small Pashto and Hindi AI photo-editing creators name the app in their videos.
  4. Zero friction: no coins, no login, copy and paste, straight into Gemini or ChatGPT. That suits low-willingness-to-pay South Asian users, and a single line in a short video is enough to recommend it.

5. Differentiation

  • The product itself has almost no differentiation. Its content (portraits, couples, kids, selfies, video prompts with preview images) is the same as every other app in the category. The preview images and prompts are most likely lifted from social media or rival apps; its own terms say "prompts and preview images may come from third parties."
  • The one selling point is "fully free, no coins," compared with coin-unlock models like PromptSeen and PromptLeez (the developer's own other app). But CoolPrompt puts a rewarded video in front of the copy action, so users still pay with an ad view. Negative reviews focus on too many ads and crashes.
  • So differentiation is not why it took off. It got traction from category demand, matrix-scale uploads, and local short-form creators. In its cohort it sits mid-pack: Easy Prompt, uploaded 25 days later, is now nearly 3× its size.

6. Visibility and copycats

  • Visibility: almost no one knows about it. No press, no discussion on X, no disclosed revenue. Just scattered reels from South Asian creators.
  • Copycats: the category copies itself. After CoolPrompt came Prompt Saar, ClickPrompt, PromptVerse, and Promptsher from October on, and the developer also launched PromptLeez (32k in two weeks).

7. What others can learn

  • A "hot AI trend + prompt gallery + rewarded video" is a low-cost AdMob arbitrage template. The content has near-zero marginal cost. When mass AI trends (Nano Banana, Veo / Flow video) surge, it's easy to spread multiple accounts and package names across Play search.
  • The real lever is distribution, not the product: local-language short-video tutorial creators plus multiple package names covering search terms.
  • Risks: Google is building prompt inspiration and personal-photo generation into Gemini itself. Play's policies on duplicate content and spam matrices could take it down at any time. South Asian AdMob eCPMs are low, so there's little money at small scale.

8. Still unclear

  • What specifically caused the jumps on 9-18, 10-04, and 10-08: which video, or Play search ranking changes.
  • Whether the Facebook pages of Awi Gul and Awais Khan are the developer's own accounts.
  • What the relationship is between PromptSeen (775k installs, developer listed as Promptseen Tech) on WAHA's website and WAHA: contract work, partnership, or the same owner.
  • Actual ad revenue, and whether there's any small Google App Campaign spend (our ad libraries don't cover this).
