Ruta Rentable: Driver Earnings · WSB Coding

A floating overlay that helps rideshare drivers work out whether a trip is worth it: Ruta Rentable ranks #9 in Argentina's Utilities Top Grossing, and the reason isn't the product

What it is A floating overlay for Latin American rideshare and delivery drivers. When a trip request pops up, it reads the fare on screen, works out earnings per km and per hour, and gives a red or green light on whether to accept. Billed monthly or yearly.

Why it took off It arrived about a year ahead of the Spanish-language copycats, then paid driver creators with 10k+ followers a monthly fee to post videos every week and ran those videos as ads. A forced 3-day trial that rolls into auto-renewal pushed it into the top 10 of Argentina's Utilities Top Grossing, a chart with a low bar to entry.

BHow you could play it Don't go head-on in Argentina, Mexico, or Brazil. Pick a country with lots of drivers and no local version yet, build the Android app, fix the billing and disconnection complaints it gets the most flak for, and copy its monthly-fee creator program for acquisition.

Grade B: demand and revenue have worked in several markets, and the playbook is public and copyable. But the Spanish-speaking Latin American market already has a dozen or so players, Brazil has a leader 9 times its size, and Uber blocking screenshots or Google Play policing accessibility permissions could wipe out the whole category at any time. A Paraguayan engineer brought the "check the math before you accept" tool, which had already worked in the US and Brazil, to Spanish-speaking Latin America. It has 316k installs and holds steady near the top of Argentina's Utilities Top Grossing 10. The product itself has little barrier to entry, and a dozen copycats have already appeared across Spanish-speaking markets. What's worth studying is the playbook: pay driver creators monthly, then use their videos as ad creative.

A problem raised in a 4-star review

In Oct 30, a driver gave Ruta Rentable 4 stars on Google Play. Not praise, just a question: "After Uber's new version limits repeated screenshots and may even ban accounts, is it still safe to keep using this app?"

That one question sums up the product. Ruta Rentable is an overlay. When trip requests from Uber, DiDi, inDrive, or Cabify appear, it reads the fare, pickup distance, and trip length on screen, works out in seconds how much you'd earn per km and per hour, and flashes red or green against the thresholds the driver sets: accept or decline. Platforms show only the total fare, so drivers have to do the math in their heads within seconds. Argentina's high inflation and shifting fuel prices make that math harder still.

It makes money through subscriptions: free to download, a 3-day trial on first open, card linked through Google Play, and auto-billing when the trial ends. One-off in-app purchases run $5.99–37.99 (Google Play, 11-06). The developer is WSB Coding; on iOS it's credited to Wagner da Silva Braga, a Paraguayan software engineer.

It's not new. It's a year-old product.

The store listing date is 2026-09-12, which easily makes it look like it blew up 7 weeks ago to 310k installs. It isn't so: the package name dalehelperdriver shows it used to be Dale Helper; the version number has already reached 2.45; Uptodown, a download site, had a 2.40 build back in April; the brand's TikTok account posted a promo video that already has 220k views (on 2025-10-22); and on Aug 17 it posted that it had passed 200k drivers across Latin America. The store date likely resets when the app is relisted (inference).

Growth now is steady. Google Play installs went from 10-29 to 310,300,11-06 to 316,091, adding 3,587 in a week, roughly 500 a day, with no sign of a sudden spike. It shows up on the charts every day: #8–10 in Argentina's Utilities Top Grossing, #89–100 in Argentina's overall Top Grossing, and #24–30 in Mexico's Utilities Top Grossing (10-29 to 11-06).

The bar for Argentina's Utilities Top Grossing is low. 11-06 ahead of it are Codeway's cleaners, CleanX, AI Cleaner, screen mirroring, antivirus, and printing apps, all global paid-acquisition products. A niche tool for just two countries' drivers, adding about 500 new installs a day with some converting to subscriptions, can squeeze into the top 10.

Where the users come from: monthly pay for driver creators

Its website has a page titled "Ruta Rentable Partners: paid partnership program," and it's blunt (rutarentable.app/partners, 11-06):

  • Requirements: makes Uber, DiDi, or Cabify content on TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube, with 10k+ followers, based in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, or Peru;
  • Deliverables: 1 videos a week, 4 a month, no scripts, "in your own style";
  • Pay: a fixed payment on the 1th of each month, priced by follower count and engagement, "not by views, not by algorithm," paid via Mercado Pago, DolarApp, PayPal, or Wise; plus free Premium;
  • The key line: "Our partners will be featured in this app's paid ads."

So a good share of the "drivers recommend it" videos online were bought by the month, and then reused as ad creative. A Mexican driver creator with 66k followers, @fidelculebro, posted a "how to set up Ruta Rentable on Uber" tutorial in January.

The brand's own TikTok has only 6,548 followers, but between August and September it posted several videos with identical captions, "¿Sabes cuáles viajes son más rentables? (Do you know which trips are the most profitable?)". One of them, 8-29, got 216k views, the rest a few thousand. With so few followers, one post far outpacing the rest looks like paid-promotion creative (inference). In May it also pinned a post: "DM 'cupón' for up to 7 days of free trial," using DMs to capture leads.

Two more supporting moves: the website title literally says "App for Uber and DiDi drivers," so searches like "Argentina Uber DiDi driver earnings calculator" in Spanish can rank it; and the brand name "Ruta Rentable" (profitable route) is itself a phrase drivers would search for.

How the money comes in, and the price shows up in the reviews

Forced trials plus auto-renewal are why it ranks so high on the grossing charts, and also why its rating is low. The 150 reviews from mid-August to late October average only 2.45 stars, with 71 of them at 1 stars. The complaints fall into two groups:

Charges. "This app took money from my card. I never authorized it, and I used it for 3 days." (10-26) "I bought the 379 annual promo and was charged the 879 full price on top of it, charged twice, and there's nowhere to complain." (10-04) "Can't find how to cancel the subscription." (several, September to October)

It doesn't work well. "It shuts itself off every 5 minutes, and I have to reopen it." (9-22) "It misreads the km and then freezes." (10-17) Others say that after installing it and granting permissions, the BBVA and HSBC banking apps threw security errors, and they only went away after the permissions were revoked (10-15).

Some users are happy: "Really useful for those of us just starting out driving" (10-15), "Recommend it with my eyes closed" (10-31). One user puts both the value and the limits of this kind of tool best: "It lets you accept or decline, the same call any experienced driver would make." (10-30,1 stars)

Who it's competing with

On features it has no moat. Screen reading + earnings per km and per hour + accept/decline advice has existed in other markets for years, and this year a wave of these tools has appeared in Spanish-speaking markets:

It arrived about a year ahead of the Spanish-language copycats, and the brand got there first in driver communities in Argentina and Mexico. But "it's the only one in Spanish-speaking Latin America" is no longer true.

The blade hanging over the whole category

The opening review asks about the biggest risk in this business. These tools rely on Android accessibility permissions or screenshots to read other apps' screens:

  • Platforms are pushing back. 9-09 Users have reported that after Uber updates stopped showing pickup and trip distances, the app couldn't read anything at all. US driver forums were discussing "Uber starts blocking screenshots" in May this year. In Brazil, drivers say Uber banned their accounts for "using third-party apps."
  • Google Play has long been strict about apps that use accessibility permissions to read other apps' content, and removal is possible.
  • iOS can't do screen reading. It launched an iPhone version in Sep 1, but the Mexico store has only 8 ratings so far, averaging 3.0 stars.

If it were you

B: worth testing, but don't expect to copy a Spanish version and be done. The demand is real, subscriptions do convert to revenue, and it has worked in English-speaking markets, Brazil, and Spanish-speaking Latin America. But Argentina and Mexico are already crowded with a dozen or so players, Brazil has a leader like GigU 9 times its size, and if Uber changes its interface or blocks screenshots, every competitor is hit at once.

Who it suits: a 1–2 person Android team that can build a stable screen-reading overlay (most of the one-star reviews on tools like this are "it shut itself off" or "it misread"), ideally with a founder or partner in a country with lots of rideshare or delivery drivers and no local earnings-calculator tool yet, who knows the local platforms and driver communities. Directions worth a look: Spanish-speaking countries not yet covered (Peru, Colombia, Chile; its creator program is already recruiting in these countries, so move fast), Grab and Gojek drivers in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Turkey, and Bolt drivers in Eastern Europe. We haven't checked country by country whether each has a comparable tool, so search the local Google Play before you start.

Who it doesn't suit: teams who only want an iPhone version (no screen reading there); teams who want to go head-on in Argentina, Mexico, or Brazil; and anyone who can't live with "the product breaks whenever the platform updates."

How to build it: Android first. Switch currency and km/miles automatically by country, support local platforms (not just Uber, but local taxi and delivery apps), and do better in the two areas it gets the most complaints about: remind users before the trial ends and offer one-tap cancellation in the app, and make screen reading stable with no background dropouts. Then add what drivers ask for in the reviews: let pickup distance be set to 500 m or 1 km, show the verdict on the next trip while you're already on one, and include km/h in the calculation.

How to acquire users: copy its creator program directly. Find local driver creators with 10k+ followers, pay a fixed monthly fee, get one video a week, give them free premium, sign a usage license, and run their videos as ads on Meta and TikTok. Add a "DM for a coupon for extra trial days" to capture leads. Name the brand after the word local drivers would actually search for.

Window closes: the earlier the better. Copycats in Spanish-speaking markets showed up in 2026, and the next wave will head for countries nobody's touched yet. Build users and revenue before Uber tightens screenshot rules further.

Signs you've got it wrong: ① Uber or DiDi blocks screenshots across your target market, or starts mass-banning drivers who use third-party tools; ② Google Play removes this type of app over accessibility permissions; ③ the platform itself shows earnings per km and per hour on the request screen; ④ after 2–3 months of creator spend, the cost to acquire each paying user still doesn't come back as one month of subscription.

Why Ruta Rentable (com.wsb.dalehelperdriver) took off

Research date 2026-11-06. Data from our googleplay library (since 2026-10-29), metaads library, plus the website, TikTok (TikHub), and Exa / Jina search.

One line

Ruta Rentable is a "check the math before you accept" overlay for ride-hailing and delivery drivers in Spanish-speaking Latin America. When a dispatch from Uber, DiDi, inDrive or Cabify pops up, it reads the fare on screen, calculates earnings per km and per hour, and tells the driver with a red/yellow/green signal whether to take it. It's subscription-based (3-day trial). Developer: WSB Coding / Wagner da Silva Braga, a software engineer from Paraguay.

Conclusion first

  • Not a new product. It's been running for at least a year and a half. The release date on the data card, 2026-09-12, is a store reset. Our library shows released_store = 2026-09-12, but released_reset = True. The version is already at 2.45.x. The package name dalehelperdriver suggests the predecessor was called Dale Helper. Uptodown has 2026-04 of the 2.40.0 versions. The brand's TikTok account 2025-10-22 posted a promo video with 220k views. And 2026-08-17 calls itself "200k+ drivers." The 316k installs were built up over time, not in 7 weeks.
  • What drove it: (1) Spanish-speaking ride-hailing drivers in Latin America are numerous, anxious about income, and platforms don't show per-km rates. That need has already been proven in English markets (Mystro, Solo and similar) and in Brazil (GigU, DSW). (2) It entered the Spanish-speaking market early and launched on Android first, since screen reading is only possible there. (3) Growth came from paid driver creators plus Meta ads, under an official "Partners" program that publicly states a monthly fee based on followers, 1 videos a week, and creator footage going into paid ads.
  • Little differentiation. The core features (screen reading + per-km / per-hour + accept/reject advice) are basically the same as GigU, DSW, Rinde, DecideRider, Uddi and Dale. Its edge is having claimed brand mindshare first in Argentina and Mexico ("Ruta Rentable" itself is a search term), plus Latin American localization (auto-switching currency and units by country, supporting local platforms like Rappi and Cabify Pronto). A group of copycats has already appeared.

Play doesn't publish a rating count (ratings is empty in our library), so rating growth can't be used to track downloads. The install curve is stepped (Google updates it every few days), averaging about 500 installs a day. That's steady, with no sign of a sudden chart spike.

2. Why it took off

1. Demand: how much per km do Latin American ride-hailing drivers actually earn?

  • When Uber or DiDi dispatches a ride, they show only the total fare, pickup distance and trip length, not earnings per km or per hour. Drivers have to do the math in their heads within seconds. Argentina's high inflation and fuel-price swings make this need stronger.
  • The same need has been validated in the US (Mystro since 2018, later Solo and Gridwise) and in Brazil (GigU with 2024M installs since 2.8 years, DSW 1.19M, rebU 1.71M). Ruta Rentable is one of the earlier teams to bring that model to Spanish-speaking Latin America.
  • Reviews show people really paying: "con Uber funciona excelente" and "muy buena opción para los que somos nuevos"; some have bought annual plans ("la tengo pagada hasta enero de 2027").

2. Timing: an early mover

  • The brand's TikTok @ruta.rentable promo video posted in 2025-10-22 already has 220k views, showing it has been promoting since at least the second half of 2025.
  • Mexican driver creator @fidelculebro (66k followers) posted "cómo configurar ruta rentable en uber" 2026-01.
  • A 2026-08-17 brand account claimed "200k+ drivers" in a post, and it launched on iOS 2026-09-01.
  • Most Spanish-speaking competitors appeared 2026 years later (Copi 2026-04, Viaje Neto 2026-10, Uddi's website 2026-09, Dale, DecideRider, GanaRuta, etc.). It got there roughly a year ahead of them.

3. How the money comes back: subscriptions + forced trial

  • Free to download, but after install you enter a 3-day trial. Google Play requires a card, and it auto-bills when the trial ends. Many 1-star reviews say "thought it was free," "charged without permission," "couldn't find how to cancel," "paid annually then charged monthly." Pushing trials this hard is a major source of its Top Grossing ranking, and also why its rating is low.
  • In Argentina, the bar to reach the Top Grossing Tools chart is low. A #9 spot mostly competes with global paid-acquisition tools like cleaners, antivirus and screen casting. With about 500 new installs a day, plus some conversions to subscription, it can hold a spot in the top 10 steadily.

3. Where users come from (growth tactics)

  1. Paid creator program (confirmed): the website rutarentable.app/partners reads "Ruta Rentable Partners — Programa de Colaboración Paga": creators in Latin America doing Uber / DiDi / Cabify content with 10k+ followers, posting 1 videos a week and paid a fixed amount on the 1th of each month (paid via Mercado Pago, DolarApp, PayPal, Wise and others), given Premium, and "nuestros partners ... incluidos en los anuncios pagos de nuestro aplicativo": creator footage is used as paid ads. This is where the "looks like organic driver promotion" on TikTok and Instagram comes from.
  2. Meta / TikTok paid ads (likely): the Partners page itself admits there are paid ads; Peekly shows Meta running 59 ads (unverified). The brand's TikTok account has only 6,548 followers, yet several videos share identical copy ("¿Sabes cuáles viajes son más rentables? 🚗💰 Con Ruta Rentable analiza cada viaje…"). One of them, 2026-08-29, has 216k views and the rest a few thousand. That is the typical shape of ad creative (Spark Ads). Our metaads library hasn't tracked its Page, since we only track products on our list.
  3. DM coupon funnel: @ruta.rentable 2026-05-11 The pinned video is "Envía "cupón" por mensaje y obtén hasta 7 días GRATIS", collecting leads by sending coupons via DM.
  4. Brand search / SEO: when searching "app calculadora ganancias conductores uber didi argentina" in Jina, the website ranks near the top. The site title "App para Conductores de Uber y DiDi" targets the keyword directly, and the Play link carries utm_source=google organic. Uptodown, Aptoide, APKCombo and CNET APK sites also list it.
  5. Community word of mouth: someone in a Facebook driver group shared a similar calculator; reviewers who gave 4–5 stars are recommending it ("la recomiendo a ojo cerrado"). Compared with paid creators, though, this counts as a supporting channel. We couldn't find a single organic viral post.

Built into Uber / DiDiBig-company features——Platforms only show the total fare and distance, not a per-km or per-hour verdict. Uber is also restricting screenshots, which is a threat to tools like this.

5. Differentiation

  • Almost no feature moat: screen reading, floating overlay, and per-km / per-hour accept-or-decline advice. GigU, Mystro, and DSW had it long ago, and a dozen more Spanish-language copies appeared in 2026 years.
  • The real differences: ①early localization for Spanish-speaking LatAm (currency and km/miles switch by country, supports Uber, DiDi, inDrive, Cabify Pronto, Rappi, Bolt), ②the brand name is the search term ("ruta rentable" = profitable route), which is easy to search and remember, ③some side features (expense tracking, finding cars, route maps, iPhone "hidden camera" for driving).
  • These differences help, but its growth comes mainly from getting in early + paying influencers + paid ads, not from a better product. Recent 150 reviews average only 2.45 stars, with lots of complaints about crashes, misreadings, and charges.

6. Visibility and copycats

  • Visibility: it's buzzing in niche circles. Driver communities in LatAm (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook groups) all know it. On X, 90 days produced 0 posts (x-radar). No media coverage, no founder disclosing revenue, no TrustMRR listing. Estimate sites like Peekly have pages, but their numbers contradict each other.
  • Plenty of copycats already: Dale (daleapp.ar, signal lights and "+30%" pitch copied), Rinde, Uddi, DecideRider, GanaRuta, Ruteo, Viaje Neto, Copi, DriverSignal, Viaje Rentable web version... most launched 2026 years ago. The recall reason "the only one gaining traction in Spanish-speaking LatAm" is inaccurate: it's the biggest, but the category is already crowded.

7. Risks

  • Platform risk: reviews mention people banned after Uber's new version flagged repeated screenshots (2026-10-30), and uberpeople.net 2026-05 also has a "Uber blocking screenshots" thread. In Brazil, Reclame Aqui has drivers saying Uber banned them for "using a third-party app." If the platform blocks screen reading, the whole category suffers.
  • Reputation risk: forced trial charges have produced many "scam" one-star reviews. Some users also say their banking apps showed security warnings after granting its accessibility permission.
  • Google Play policy: reading other apps' content via accessibility / screen recording carries a risk of removal during Play review.

VIII. What to take from it

  • Playbook: "proven English / Brazilian tool → small Spanish-speaking market", using local currency, local platforms, and local phrasing. Android first (screen reading only works well on Android), iOS only as a companion.
  • Growth: fixed monthly fees for small vertical influencers (10k+ followers) posting weekly, and reusing their content in paid ads. Cheaper than buying installs per CPI, and it looks like organic word of mouth. Add DM-based coupon collection for leads.
  • Monetization: a 3-day trial with auto-renewing card billing. In a market like Argentina, where the bar for the Top Grossing chart is low, it's easy to reach the top 10 in tools. The cost is bad reviews and refunds.
  • The brand name uses the search term directly, so it spreads easily through search and word of mouth.

9. What I'm still unsure about

  • Actual revenue: Peekly's $5k / $109k MRR figures contradict each other; unverified.
  • Real launch date: no direct evidence of when the predecessor Dale Helper launched or was renamed (the apkcombo page title says 2024; unverified).
  • Meta ad scale: the metaads library doesn't track it. We only have Peekly's 59 ads and the self-reported numbers on the Partners page.
  • How many influencers the Partners program signed, and how much each is paid, is not public.
  • How many installs come from outside Argentina and Mexico (drivers from the Dominican Republic appear in reviews).
