Verity Mod: Mods for Minecraft · GROWTHBRIDGE CONSULTING LLC

Two months late, still hit 1.2M installs: how a "consulting company" caught the Minecraft horror meme, Verity

What it is It packs community plugins, skins and maps for Verity, the viral Minecraft horror character, into an app that "imports into mobile Minecraft with one tap." It's really a web wrapper that makes money from rewarded videos and interstitial ads.

Why it took off ThatMob's short series made Verity a meme among kids, and installing mods on mobile is a hassle. Kids watch a TikTok tutorial and then search "verity mod" on Play. The meme had a long tail, and this app entered two months late but still got over a million installs.

Grade CHow you could follow it Don't chase Verity itself. Copy the pipeline: when the next kids' meme starts to spike and few same-name apps exist on Play, ship a web-wrapper app within a week, grab the search terms, monetize with ads, and spread risk across several accounts.

Grade C: the playbook is cheap and learnable, but this Verity wave is already fading. The top app got in two months earlier and is three times bigger, and the search page shows seven or eight similar apps. Add IP and Play impersonation policy risk (its own listing page 11-06 no longer opens), and following it now isn't worth it. Few people know about it yet

In 2026 Aug 18, a "consulting company" called GROWTHBRIDGE CONSULTING LLC put an app on Google Play called "Verity Mod: Mods for Minecraft." It had no content of its own and no technology of its own, and it hadn't been updated since 13 days after launch. By Nov 6, it had 1.23M installs in total. It caught a meme in a kids' circle and a very specific pain point: installing mods on mobile Minecraft is too hard. This piece explains where its traffic came from, how it makes money, why the number two app still pulled in a million, and whether you should copy this playbook.

A yellow smiley face, and a pile of "how to install on phone" videos

Verity is a character from YouTuber ThatMob's three-part Minecraft horror web series that ran from May 2026 to Jul 30 8: a yellow smiley-face "personal assistant" who turns into a monster. The main series and the fan song "It's me, It's Verity" each passed 20M views (Wikipedia, "Verity (web series)"). Canada's CBC Kids News even ran a piece titled "It's Verity! This scary Minecraft mod is taking off."

The community quickly turned it into a plugin, free to download on CurseForge. Then a wave of "how to install" videos appeared on TikTok. @thesxber's Jul 17 video "How to Install & Use the VERITY Mod" got 1.4M views, and @testtube._testtubes posted "Here's how to get a working Verity so you stop DMing me" in Jun 22 with 500k views. The buzz didn't stop into autumn: ohnepixel's Oct 11 video "The Verity mod in Minecraft is insane" got 1.39M views, and in Nov 5 people were still posting Verity fan animations (TikTok, search "verity mod", 11-06).

Most people watching these videos are kids, and many play the mobile (Bedrock) version. Installing a .mcaddon file on a phone means downloading it, finding the file, opening it with Minecraft, and fixing the .zip extension the browser adds. Its web install guide even has a whole section titled "Nothing happens when I click?" A kid watches the video, opens the Play Store, searches "verity mod," and that's the whole source of demand.

What it is: a web page wrapped in an app shell

The store listing calls it "a collection of horror plugins, creepy creatures and survival experiences," centered on Verity. Opening it shows four tabs: plugins, skins, maps and mini-games, with 3D skin previews and a tap to import into Minecraft.

Its privacy policy is clear, though: it's a Trusted Web Activity (TWA), and the app shell runs the web page veritymods.kez10.com. kez10.com is an H5 mini-game portal whose name resembles the older Kiz10, and the site also carries articles like "get free Robux." The site's "Games" page lists mini-games such as Noob Miner: Jailbreak, Noob vs FNAF and Stick vs Zombies, which come from the Playhop platform (veritymods.kez10.com, 11-06).

The content is free plugins the community already made, the product is one web page, and the shell is Google's official TWA template. The cost is close to zero.

Where the money comes from: all ads

There are no in-app purchases and no accounts. The privacy policy says roughly "free, because of ads." Some content is locked, and you unlock it by watching a rewarded video or spending coins won on a wheel. The web page's top right corner shows a wheel and a coin count. Add interstitial ads and embedded mini-games, and a kid looking for mods sees several ads.

Its main users aren't disclosed. It has only charted in Turkey's free utilities chart at ranks 41–61 (from 10-29), appeared once at rank 184 in Argentina's utilities chart in Nov 3, and reached rank 51 in Colombia's utilities trending chart in Sep 9 (Similarweb). These are regions with very low eCPM, where each user is worth a few cents (estimate), but the traffic is free organic search, so the math works. No public revenue figures exist.

The curve: fastest in early September, now fading

09-18About 680k

11-061,226,360+84,101 over the last 7 days (Google Play)

It's now adding a little over 10k a day. Daily data makes it look like it's accelerating: on Nov 1 and 3 it jumped over 30k each day, with 0 in between. That's a sawtooth caused by Play refreshing install counts only every other day. The real trend is a peak in early September, then a slow decline.

One more detail: several of its jumps (09-03, 09-10, 10-08, 10-21) fell on the same day as the top same-category app. The two are drawing from the same search pool, so new videos, new plugin versions, and back-to-school moments lift both at once. That suggests its volume comes mostly from search rather than paid acquisition (inference; whether the +250k in its first three days involved paid buys can't be determined).

It has 4.09,4,373 ratings, only 0.36% of its installs, while the top same-category app has 3.1%. It basically didn't push for reviews.

Who it's competing with: it's in the second tier

Searching "verity mod" on Play shows seven or eight similar apps on one page (11-06). This category is already crowded. It got 1.2M only because this meme's tail was longer than everyone expected. Ignitus Probida and Cloudtraffic entered late with the same playbook and didn't take off, and how much of this is luck is hard to say from the outside.

Who's behind it: one alias of a traffic group

GrowthBridge's website is a generic "consulting firm" template site, with 4 apps under its name: Verity Mod; Mods For Minecraft; an H5 mini-game collection, Steal an Egg: Monster Escape (riding the Roblox "Steal a ..." meme, 26K installs); and Decision Matrix Planner, which looks like it was published to make the developer account look legit (inferred).

Play also has a string of H5 game wrapper apps with names resembling KEZ: KEZI10 Games (18M), KEZ Games Play (4.26M), Kezy Play (3.98M), each under a different developer name. Whether they're the same people as GrowthBridge can't be confirmed, but the playbook is identical: different company names, web wrappers, ad monetization, and one account getting banned doesn't drag down the others (inference).

One more thing to note: on Nov 6, opening its Play listing directly from outside returned 404 in both the US and Turkish stores, and searching "verity mod" in the US store doesn't find it. It may have been removed, restricted by region, or demoted in search, and this can't be confirmed. The most common fate for apps like this is that one day the page simply disappears.

If it were you

One-line verdict: The pipeline of "meme appears, ship a shell app that week, grab the search terms, monetize with ads" is learnable, but don't go after Verity itself. The meme is fading, the top app got in two months earlier and is three times bigger, and the search results page shows seven or eight similar apps.

Who it suits: Teams already making web mini-games or H5 traffic, with ad monetization in place and several developer accounts; people who spend their days in kids' TikTok circles and can spot the next meme two or three weeks early.

Who it doesn't suit: Indie developers who want to build a long-term product, grow users, and earn through subscriptions or in-app purchases. There's no retention here and no brand. It's also a bad fit for anyone with a single developer account who would lose everything if it got banned, and for anyone who cares about copyright: Verity is ThatMob's character, the plugins belong to community creators, and the business itself sits on the line of IP and Play's "impersonation/misleading" policies.

How to do it: Put the content on a web page, wrap it with a TWA for Play, and reuse one template by swapping in a new meme. Judge memes on three points: the audience is kids (search is direct and they're not picky), installing the thing has friction (Bedrock's .mcaddon import, finding Roblox private servers, and so on), and the community already has free content to aggregate. Put both "meme name + mod" and "mods for minecraft" in the title, and file it under utilities to avoid competing with the games category. If you want to beat it, do what it didn't: make one-tap import actually one-tap, give step-by-step illustrated guides when it fails, keep plugin versions updated on schedule, and push the rating rate from 0.36% to above 3%, since Play search ranking depends on ratings and retention.

How to get users: Don't buy ads. Rely on the meme's heat on TikTok and YouTube spilling over into store search. Speed is key: the top app 13 launched while the short was still airing (Jun 23). The one that launched two months later still reached 1.2M because it caught an unusually long tail. Don't expect that to happen again next time.

When would it have been too late: For Verity, it's already too late. Getting in now only means fighting over scraps. For the next meme: a "how to install XX on your phone" tutorial just crossed 100K views on TikTok, while the same-name app on Play has fewer than three. Ship within a week.

What would tell you you read it wrong: ① Its Play listing comes back in November, with daily installs holding above 10K. That means the demand lasts longer than a fad, and a proper, regularly updated Bedrock add-on directory is worth building. ② The other way around: if the top same-name app, I13, also gets delisted within a few weeks, Play is clearing out these IP-riding wrappers, and this pipeline doesn't work anymore.

Where users come from
  • Confirmed Search demand spilling over from an IP hot spot (TikTok / YouTube content spillover): ThatMob's Verity main series and its fan song each passed 20M views (Wikipedia). CBC Kids News covered it. Videos tagged #veritymod on TikTok were still pulling million-view numbers as late as November (ohnepixel 10-10 3.51M). "How to install" tutorials hit 140K to 1.4M views each (TikHub).
  • Inferred Play Store search / ASO: The title stuffs both "verity mod" and "mods for minecraft" into the name, and it's listed under TOOLS. It only charted on the TOOLS charts in TR and AR, plus Similarweb's CO Tools trend chart. Its jump days line up with I13 (09-03, 09-10, 10-08, 10-21), which suggests both apps draw from the same search pool.
  • Inferred Paid acquisition (UAC, etc.): It isn't tracked in our ad library, so we can't confirm it. The early burst of +250K in 3 days doesn't rule out paid traffic.
  • Confirmed Rewarded videos, a coin wheel, and an embedded Playhop H5 game (retention and monetization): from the official privacy policy and the veritymods.kez10.com page.

Why Verity Mod: Mods for Minecraft (org.growthbridgeconsulting.veritymods) managed to take off

Channel: Google Play. Developer: GROWTHBRIDGE CONSULTING LLC. Store launch: 2026-08-18. Research date: 2026-11-06. Sources: our googleplay library (app_snap / app_day / app_day_ext / chart_rank, referred to below as "library"), historical data backfilled from AppstoreSpy (marked "AppstoreSpy est."), the developer's website and privacy policy, Wikipedia, CBC, TikTok (TikHub), Reddit, and the Play search page.

Bottom line

It doesn't create demand of its own. It's a wrapper that rides an IP hype wave to harvest traffic: in 2026, 5–July YouTuber ThatMob's Minecraft horror short film *Verity* blew up as an Alpha-era meme, and TikTok tutorials titled "how to install Verity mod on phone" pulled hundreds of thousands to over a million views each. It launched two months after the top-ranked app of the same name (I13's Verity Mod for Minecraft PE, launched Jun 23) and rode the search traffic by showing up when people searched "verity mod" on the Play Store. Peak installs in early September are estimated at 7–130K per day. The product is a TWA shell wrapped around a web app hosted on a subdomain of H5 game portal kez10.com. Revenue comes from rewarded video ads, interstitial ads, and the embedded Playhop H5 mini-games. It worked on timing and distribution, not on anything differentiated about the product itself.

1. Data: scale and curve

  • Global cumulative installs 1,226,360 (library, 2026-11-06). Over the last 7 days +84,101 (library, 10-30→11-06), now running about 0.85–16k a day. 4.09,4,373 ratings, with ratings/installs at just 0.36% (the top competitor I13 is at 3.1%, so it isn't really prompting for reviews).
  • Curve since launch (AppstoreSpy est.; single-day numbers only show trends): 08-31 cumulative 74K → 09-01 to 09-03 three-day total +250K (single day 7–100K) → 09-10 single day about 130K → 09-18 cumulative 680K → 10-13 passed 1M → since then 0.5–15K per day, with occasional jumps (10-04 +74K, 10-21 +31K). The peak was in early September and has been declining since. It is not "accelerating" as the recall claimed. The "11K → 30K/day" figure the recall saw is a sawtooth from Play updating install counts every other day (11-01 and 11-03 each added +30K, with 0 in between), not real acceleration.
  • Its jump days largely match the top rival I13 (09-03, 09-10, 10-08, 10-21: both apps jumped together). That suggests both are riding the same wave of Verity search interest (new videos, new mods, school going back in session), not growth it drove with its own paid acquisition.
  • Charts: the library (from 10-29) only shows it on the Turkey TOOLS free chart at #41–61, and it reached Argentina TOOLS #184 once, in 11-03. Similarweb recorded it at #51 on the Colombia Tools trending chart in Sep 9 (search snippet). Most of its traffic didn't come from the charts.
  • Monetization: the library shows ad_supported=True, with no in-app purchases. The official privacy policy states "no accounts, no purchases, free because there are ads." Locked content unlocks by "watching one rewarded ad" or "using coins from the wheel" (growthbridgeconsulting.org/apps/verity-mod/privacy-policy).
  • Version 2.4.0, last updated 2026-08-31 (library). It hasn't been updated since, about two and a half months after launch.
  • Visibility: the Play detail page we scraped still loads 11-06 (gl=us). But when Jina opened the detail page from outside, it returned 404. At the same moment, it also didn't appear in the US Play search for "verity mod" (the top results were I13, FB Polissage, Legion Games, G T APPS, Wiragena, and so on). It may be delisted in some regions or restricted in others, or search may have demoted it. Unverified.

Minecraft's official MarketplaceBig-company features——Whether official Verity content exists is unverified. Bedrock users importing .mcaddon files by hand is already a hassle, and that's the niche these apps survive in.

Verdict: It's neither the first nor the biggest. At least 10 Play apps with Verity in the name, the top one (I13) is more than 3× its size. It's a second-tier follower in this wave.

3. Growth levers: where users come from

  1. Search demand from the IP hot spot (confirmed): Verity is a 3-episode Minecraft horror series by ThatMob, aired 2026-05-30 to 07-08. The main series and Horror Skunx's fan song "It's me, It's Verity" each passed 20M views and became an Alpha-generation meme (Wikipedia, "Verity (web series)"; CBC Kids News ran "It's Verity! Meet the spooky Minecraft mod that's going viral"). On TikTok, #veritymod videos were still producing hits as late as November: ohnepixel's 10-10 video at 3.51M, another at 10-11 with 1.39M, and one more at 11-05 with 420K. "How to install the VERITY mod" tutorials hit 140K to 1.4M views each (TikHub search). Kids watch the videos, then search "verity mod" in the Play Store. That's where its traffic comes from.
  2. App Store / ASO (inferred, moderate evidence): the title "Verity Mod: Mods for Minecraft" packs in both search terms (verity mod, mods for minecraft). Filing it under TOOLS instead of Games avoids the game-category competition and gets it onto the tool charts in Turkey and Latin America (library: TR TOOLS 41–61; Similarweb: CO Tools trending #51). AppBrain's "people who viewed this also viewed" links it to I13 and similar apps (AppBrain search snippet). Its spikes line up with I13, which also suggests the same search pool is being split between them.
  3. Paid acquisition (no evidence): our ad libraries (Meta / Google / TikTok Europe) only track products on our list, and this one isn't on it, so finding nothing doesn't mean nothing was spent. Look at the curve: it reached 12k+ within 70 days of launch, then had 3 days of +250k bursts. Early UAC buying isn't ruled out, unverified.
  4. Owned content / creators (none found): TikTok only shows scattered small accounts posting "Play Verity Mod for Minecraft PE mobile" (@duckzone39,296 plays), with no way to confirm a link to the app. X has no discussion (x-radar searches for "growthbridge" and "verity mod app" return nothing).
  5. Coin wheel + rewarded video (retention and monetization, confirmed): the content is locked behind rewarded ads and a coin wheel, and it embeds Playhop's H5 mini-games (the /games page on veritymods.kez10.com lists titles like Noob Miner and Noob vs FNAF). Users come to grab a mod, and the ads get more impressions.

4. Who is behind it: a shell company for an H5 game portal

  • The developer site growthbridgeconsulting.org is a generic "consulting firm" template. It is behind 4 apps: Verity Mod, Mods For Minecraft (org.growthbridgeconsulting.modsforminecraft), Steal an Egg: Monster Escape (an H5 mini-game bundle that also rides the Roblox "Steal a ..." meme, 26k installs in the library), and Decision Matrix Planner (apparently a "whitelisted app" meant to make the developer account look legitimate).
  • The privacy policy states this app is a Trusted Web Activity, with a web page at veritymods.kez10.com running inside the shell. kez10.com is an H5 mini-game portal (Kez10 - Free Online Games, with a name close to the long-running Kiz10), and the site also hosts "Get Free Robux" traffic-bait articles. The library has a set of H5 game TWAs with KEZ-like names: KEZI10 Games (SunDev Group, 18M), KEZ Games Play (HappyGames Studio, 4.26M), and Kezy Play (Flayer Studio, 3.98M). Whether they share an operator with GrowthBridge is unverified, but the playbook is identical: different shell company names, web-wrapped apps, ad monetization.
  • So GrowthBridge is most likely a publishing account that the kez10 traffic group registered specifically to ride the Verity trend. If one account gets banned, the others are unaffected.

5. Why it took off

  • The demand was already there from outside: an IP meme exploded in the Alpha generation, and huge numbers of kids wanted "Verity" in mobile Minecraft. Manually importing .mcaddon files on Bedrock is hard for kids, and a "one-tap import" app filled exactly that gap.
  • Entered early, and the demand lasted longer than expected: it launched on Aug 18 when I13 was already picking up steam, and TikTok interest never dropped off from 9 through November (big accounts like ohnepixel were still posting through 10 November). The search pool was large enough that the number two app still got millions of installs.
  • Cost was close to zero: the content is free community / CurseForge plugins, and the product is a Next.js web app plus a TWA shell (the same template was copied directly to make "Mods For Minecraft" and "Steal an Egg"). It hasn't been updated since Aug 31.
  • Monetization is ads: no in-app purchases, just rewarded video, interstitials, and a revenue share from Playhop games. The core users are in Turkey and Latin America, low-eCPM regions where each user is worth only a few cents, but acquisition is nearly free organic search, so the math works.

6. Differentiation

Almost nothing. Compared with I13 and similar apps, only two things stand out: ① a 3D skin preview with one-tap import; ② H5 mini-games and a coin wheel built in to extend session time and add ad impressions. Neither is why it took off. The real reasons were timing (the long tail of an IP meme) plus claiming the store search terms. It has 13 times fewer installs and 3 times fewer ratings than I29, which also shows that getting there first matters more than doing it better.

7. Visibility and copycats

  • Visibility: few people know about it. Media and X coverage covers the Verity meme itself (Wikipedia, CBC), not this app or the people behind it, and revenue isn't public. Reddit has generic complaint threads about fake Minecraft mods on Play that run ads (r/MinecraftUnlimited, r/Minecraft), but they don't name it.
  • Copycats: the category is already crowded (one page of Play results for "verity mod" shows 7–8 similar apps), and "Verity Mod: Mods for Minecraft" (CEH MANAGEMENT GROUP LLC, com.verity.verity, 5K+), with a name copied word for word, is a direct clone.

8. What others can learn

  • A pipeline of "IP meme → shell company registered that week → TWA wrapping a web page → two search terms stuffed in the title → placed in the tools category → monetized with rewarded ads / a wheel / H5 mini-games". The same web template can be cloned into several apps (Mods For Minecraft, Steal an Egg).
  • The selection criteria for a meme: a kid audience, friction in installing things on the platform (Bedrock import), and free community content that can be repurposed.
  • Risks: IP infringement (Verity is a ThatMob character, and there are officially licensed mods), and Play's policies on impersonation and misleading apps. One takedown and it's zero, which is why the activity is spread across multiple shell accounts.

9. Still unclear

  • There's no evidence whether the early burst (+250k over the first three days from 09-01 to 09-03, roughly 130k on the peak day 09-10) came from organic search, Play recommendations, or paid UAC.
  • Opening the detail page from outside the country shows 404, and it doesn't appear in US store search: partial takedown, regional restriction, or a Jina egress issue is unverified.
  • Whether GrowthBridge and KEZI10 / KEZ Games / Kezy Play share an operator is unverified (only the hosting on kez10.com is confirmed).
  • The recall's "third-party daily installs 100k" and "official addon 7.7M / ThatMob version 16.6M downloads" weren't checked one by one. AppstoreSpy's single-day figures are averaged estimates.
  • Country breakdown: only inferable from the charting regions (TR, AR, CO). Google doesn't publish it.
