How an "ads-only" heart sticker pack reached #1 on the UAE personalization chart
What it is A free bundle of WhatsApp romantic stickers and heart wallpapers. One tap installs the stickers into WhatsApp. It makes money only from ads.
Why it took off It moved near-identical stickers from the crowded "Communication" category, where they compete with many rivals, to the "Personalization" category, where there's almost no competition, and stuffed the title with search terms. Behind it is a multi-account matrix of 12 packages pushing volume. The synchronized climb in November was most likely kicked off by paid acquisition or store promotion (inference).
BHow you could approach it Don't do English romantic stickers. Switch to holiday or local-language themes (Ramadan, Diwali, Arabic love phrases), bundle stickers with wallpapers in the personalization category, add TikTok sticker-creator traffic this crew isn't doing, and ship before the holiday.

Emoji Love Wallpaper WASticker is a romantic sticker-plus-love-wallpaper bundle for WhatsApp on Google Play. It launched in Aug 1, hit 450k installs in its first week of November, and climbed the personalization charts in 30 countries at the same time. The product itself isn't much to write home about. What's worth a look is the playbook behind it: the same team runs 4 developer accounts and has shipped 12 near-identical romantic sticker apps this year, adding up to roughly 31M installs. Here's the breakdown: what it is, why it surfaced this week, where the traffic and money come from, who's competing, and whether you can use this playbook.
One one-star review, and a single-day 210k
On Oct 7, a user in India gave it one star with a line: "The developer made this just to show the ads it is ads not else" (the developer made this only to show ads, nothing else).
He wasn't wrong. Three-plus weeks later, this "nothing but ads" app took off: Google Play installs went from 10-31 to 356k, then 11-01 to 454k, 11-02 to 667k, gaining 213k in a single day; by 11-06 it was at 805k. Over the same period it climbed the UAE personalization free chart from #25 to #1, moved India and Saudi Arabia from #22 to #2, reached #3 in South Korea, sat at #9 in Japan, Hong Kong and Turkey, #16 in Germany and Indonesia, and climbed from #153 to #50 in the US.
Its version number has been 1.0.5 the whole time, and the last update was Sep 14. The product hasn't changed at all.
What it is
Open it and you get screens of stickers: I Love You, kisses, hugs, roses, good morning/good night, birthdays, Christmas. Tap "Add to WhatsApp" and they go straight into your chats. The other half is heart and couple wallpapers, set as your lock screen in one tap. The store listing runs thousands of words, cramming in search terms like Love Stickers for WhatsApp, Romantic Couple Stickers, Love Emoji, GIF, Animated Stickers and Love Wallpapers, and ends with "Completely Free."
The free part is real: no in-app purchases, and it has never charted on any grossing list. All the money comes from ads. Its app-ads.txt authorizes three networks: Google AdMob, Meta Audience Network and Tappx.
Why it surfaced this week
Two things are certain.
The category shifted. Romantic sticker packs used to sit crowded together in the "Communication" category. The same team's near-identical sibling, Romantic Stickers WAStickers, is still there with 8.52M installs and identical rivals. This one changed its title to "Emoji Love Wallpaper WASticker", added wallpapers, and moved into "Personalization." Its rivals there are general wallpaper platforms like Zedge (659M installs), and romantic stickers have almost no direct competition in that category, so it shot up to #1.
It's not one app, it's a matrix. The developer website uses a free app-ads-txt.com hosted subdomain, and the ad accounts can be read from it. Comparing them shows that Stickorax and two other accounts, Exdev Apps and Kalmzee, share the same Meta ad monetization ID; Exdev and Kalmzee also share an AdMob account with a fourth account, Future Sole; and Stickorax itself has an app hosted under Exdev's subdomain. With four developer names, it's safe to conclude they're one operator.
| Account | Apps | Combined installs (Google Play, 11-06) | 7 new in the last day | Launched |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Exdev Apps | 5 | 18.6M | 1.81M | 2026-02 to 07 |
| Stickorax Apps | 5 | 9.67M | 700k | 2026-04 to 09 |
| Kalmzee | 1 | 1.88M | 140k | 2026-03 |
| Future Sole | 1 | 1.15M | 410k | 2026-08 |
All 12 packages were published this year with the same assets: swap the package name, the title and the account, then publish again. Multiple accounts spread the takedown risk and also grab more slots in search results.
On the uncertain side: in this November wave, 5 countries began climbing on the same day at almost the same pace. The product hasn't been updated, and the rating count is only 0.14% of installs (1,099 ratings, 3.5 stars). That looks like Google's app promotion ads scaling up, or Play placing it in featured slots (inference, I couldn't find any ad-spend records). Not finding records doesn't mean there was no spend. And since this crew has 12 packages monetizing at the same time, reinvesting ad revenue into paid acquisition is the standard move for this kind of matrix.
Where users come from and why they want it
Users are in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, India and Southeast Asia, where WhatsApp is the main messaging app. They send good mornings, good nights, miss-yous and birthday wishes every day, and they want flashy, text-laden "cheesy romance" stickers with roses and hearts. WhatsApp's official sticker store and AI stickers are clean but don't do this. Gboard's Emoji Kitchen doesn't either. That gap has been filled by generic no-brand sticker packs.
How big the demand is shows up on TikTok. The Latin American sticker creator @paraguayita_01 posted one video in June, "#stickerscoquetos flirty stickers, code 8B0HHJ, only on Sticker.ly," that reached 35M views; in October a Portuguese video, "copy the code into Sticker.ly to get the best love stickers," got 800k; an Arabic one, "come see your stickers," got 650k (TikTok, 11-06). Note that nearly all of this traffic flows to platforms with communities like Sticker.ly, not to Stickorax and its peers. Searching X and TikTok for its name turns up nothing. This matrix runs entirely on the store, with no content behind it.
Do users stay? Once stickers are installed in WhatsApp they keep being used, but users don't need to reopen the app. So the ad money comes mainly from interstitials and rewarded videos shown on first open: you earn once per install.
Where the money comes from and how much it makes
Ads only. Three ad networks bid together, and showing one before each "Add to WhatsApp" is standard practice for apps like this.
No public revenue figures. A rough estimate: for a utility app like this, a new user's lifetime ad revenue might be a few US cents in India and tens of cents in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. 12 packages with 31M installs this year come to over a million dollars at an average of 5 cents per install, with almost zero asset cost. If it's buying paid acquisition, everything depends on whether the cost per install stays below that number, which can't be seen from outside.
Who it's competing with
| Product | Scale (Google Play, 11-06) | How it differs |
|---|---|---|
| Sticker.ly(Naver Z) | 342M installs | User uploads and community, a wide range of themes, and a large group of TikTok creators funneling traffic to it with "codes" |
| Sticker maker(Viko & Co) | 204M installs | Users make their own stickers |
| Romantic Stickers WASticker.ly(Future-Apps) | 32.6M installs, +297k in 7 days | The same-theme veteran, present in Communication since 2023 |
| Sibling packages in the same matrix | 8.52M, 1.88M…… | Same assets, different category and title |
| Two accounts, ZOBEST and Zuviax | 9–October: 3 same-style packs, about 1.6M combined | Shares another AdMob account, a separate matrix |
| WhatsApp's official stickers / AI stickers | All users | Free and ad-free, but not localized for cheesy romance |
The romantic WASticker theme alone already has two or three matrices running it, and more look-alike packs have launched since September.
What's actually worth learning is two things
First, category misplacement. The same product ranks in the dozens in a crowded category full of copies, but moves to an adjacent category with no direct rivals and takes #1 for free through the category chart's organic exposure. The trick isn't limited to stickers.
Second, a no-brand matrix built on zero-cost content. Stickers, wallpapers, ringtones and emoji cost almost nothing to make. One asset set can ship under dozens of package names, carry three ad networks, and earn once per install. It makes money, but it isn't a product; it's a bulk-publishing business.
If it were you
B. The opportunity exists and few people know about it. But what you'd be building is a bulk-publishing and paid-acquisition business, not a product, and the romantic WhatsApp sticker theme alone already has several matrices running it.
Who it suits: small teams that have already published no-brand utility apps on Google Play, own a few developer accounts, can read AdMob reports and run Google app promotion campaigns; ideally they know the tastes of a major WhatsApp market (Arabic, Indonesian, Hindi, Spanish, Portuguese).
Who it doesn't suit: anyone who wants a branded product that keeps users long-term; anyone not prepared for a Play account to be banned (Google Play has policies against "repetitive content" and multi-account bulk publishing, and this crew could be taken down all at once); anyone who can code but can't work out whether paid acquisition pays back.
How to do it: stop making English romantic stickers. Change the theme or the language: holiday stickers for Ramadan and Eid, Diwali, Christmas and New Year; local text stickers such as Arabic love phrases or Indonesian good-morning greetings. One pack per theme, bundling stickers with wallpapers, first aiming for the personalization category and seeing whether it can break into the top 10 in a few countries. Generate assets in bulk with AI; a few hundred stickers per pack is enough. For ads, use AdMob plus one or two bidding networks, and place interstitials before "Add to WhatsApp."
How to get users: step one is store search and category charts, with the title packed with local-language search terms. Step two is what this crew isn't doing: TikTok. The Latin American creators' "copy the code for stickers" videos can reach millions to tens of millions of views. You can find local sticker creators and have them post with a "link in bio," or open your own account and post a daily sticker preview. Once a pack pays back, reinvest the ad revenue in paid acquisition.
Deadlines: holidays are hard deadlines. Christmas and New Year packs need to be live by early December, Valentine's packs by late January, and Ramadan packs (which start in early February of 2027) by mid-January.
Signs you've misread it: ① Packages from accounts like Stickorax and Exdev get taken down by Play in batches over the next month or two, which means the matrix window is closing; either build one product per account honestly or stay away; ② after a pack breaks into the top 1, installs quickly fall back to a few thousand a day, which means the wave was propped up by paid acquisition and payback may be harder than it looks; ③ WhatsApp launches localized holiday or love-phrase stickers, or AI stickers add Arabic or Hindi text, and the gap closes.
Data and sources: Google Play install counts, ratings, personalized free charts (30 storefronts, 10-29 to 11-06); Google Play store page descriptions and reviews (11-06); each developer's app-ads.txt (he93803ee, yf5c8bce1, ifee5490f and other subdomains, crawled 11-06). The four accounts being one operator is inferred from shared ad IDs. TikTok sticker-video view counts from @paraguayita_01, @regi_sccp, @algej3 and others (11-06). Searches for "Stickorax" on X and TikTok returned nothing (11-06). Ad revenue is estimated; paid acquisition is inferred.

Why Emoji Love Wallpaper WASticker (Stickorax Apps) managed to break out
Google Play, package name romanticwallpaper.lovewallpaper.hd, category PERSONALIZATION, first listed 2026-08-01. It is an ad-only monetized collection of "WhatsApp romantic / heart stickers + heart wallpapers."
Bottom line
The product itself is nothing special. It broke out because of a multi-listing sticker matrix distribution play: one operator used at least 4 developer accounts and, over 2026 years, listed about 12 nearly identical "Romantic Stickers for WhatsApp" apps, totaling roughly 31.6M installs. What sets this app apart from its matrix siblings comes down to two things: the title crams in three search-term groups (Emoji / Love Wallpaper / WASticker), and it is filed under PERSONALIZATION instead of COMMUNICATION. Romantic stickers are crowded with copies in COMMUNICATION, but in the personalization category there is little competition. So between 10-29 and 11-06 it climbed the personalized free charts in 30 storefronts at the same time, peaking at #1 in the UAE. The November surge looks like it was driven by paid acquisition or store recommendations (unverified), not by product updates. Its last update was 2026-09-14.
1. Data (source: our googleplay database, 2026-10-29 to 11-06)
- Cumulative global installs: 10-29 to 10-31 were 355,692,11-01, 454,452,11-02, 667,329,11-03, 734,683,11-06, 804,931. Over 7 days it added 449,239, with a single-day peak of +212,877 (11-02). Install counts refresh in store-side batches, so some days in between show a gain of 0.
- The charts climbed in several storefronts at once, at almost the same pace (personalized free chart):
- ae:25 → 18 → 11 → 11 → 6 → 4 → 3 → 1 → 1
- in:22 → 16 → 10 → 7 → 3 → 2 → 2 → 3 → 2

- us:153 → 103 → 82 → 80 → 70 → 60 → 51 → 51 → 50
- On 11-06 it charted in 30 storefronts: jp, hk and tr at #9, de and id at #16.
- The version has stayed at 1.0.5,
updated_atis 2026-09-14, and there were no updates during the November surge. - Ratings: 11-02 has 829 reviews at 3.86 stars, and 11-06 has 1,099 reviews at 3.5 stars. Rating count is only about 0.14% of installs, which means very little engagement from people who installed. The star distribution is unnatural: the 11-02 share of 1-star and 3-star ratings is 118, 2-star is 0, and 11-06 became 219/109/109/219/439, which looks rounded or sampled, so treat it as a reference only.
- The review sample is only 3 reviews (in storefront), of which 1 is a 1-star review that reads "The developer made this just to show the ads it is ads not else."
- Monetization: app-ads.txt (https://he93803ee.app-ads-txt.com/app-ads.txt) authorizes Google AdMob
pub-9884152435472696, Meta Audience Network1844314045957254, and Tappx. There are no IAP and it has never entered any top-grossing chart, so revenue comes entirely from ads. Our database hasad_supported=False, which contradicts app-ads.txt; we go with app-ads.txt. - The description is very long and repeats Love Stickers for WhatsApp, Romantic Couple Stickers, Love Emoji, GIF, Animated Stickers, and Love Wallpapers. It's a textbook case of ASO keyword stuffing.
2. The matrix behind it: the most important finding
The developer site uses the free app-ads-txt.com hosted subdomains, and the subdomains reveal the ad accounts. Comparison results (2026-11-06 crawl):
| app-ads subdomain | AdMob pub | Meta AN | Accounts / apps using it |
|---|---|---|---|
| he93803ee | pub-9884152435472696 | 1844314045957254 | Stickorax: this app, Romantic Love Sticker Maker, Romantic Love Stickers for WA, Romantic Stickers Love Romance |
| yf5c8bce1 | pub-6281502150625248 | 1844314045957254 (same) | Stickorax:Romantic Stickers Kiss Sticker;Exdev Apps:Love Romantic Kiss WAStickers;Kalmzee:Romantic & Love Wallpapers |
| ifee5490f | pub-6281502150625248 (same) | — | Future Sole:Romantic Love Emoji WAStickers |
Stickorax shares one Meta ad-monetization ID with Exdev / Kalmzee, and shares one AdMob account with Exdev / Kalmzee / Future Sole. Stickorax also has an app sitting directly under Exdev's subdomain. So these four developer accounts can be treated as essentially one operator (at least one monetization entity).
Matrix size (googleplay database, 11-06):
| Account | Apps in library | Total installs | 7 new in the last day | First-listed range |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Exdev Apps | 5 | 18,627,417 | 1,806,088 | 2026-02-22 to 07-26 |
| Stickorax Apps | 5 | 9,671,099 | 704,248 | 2026-04-26 to 09-03 |
| Kalmzee | 1 | 1,879,661 | 144,865 | 2026-03-13 |
| Future Sole | 1 | 1,150,526 | 408,375 | 2026-08-30 |
In total 12 apps, about 31.3M installs, all listed over 2026 years. The play is clear: the same romantic sticker assets are repeatedly listed under new package names, new titles, and new accounts. Each package runs AdMob, Meta, and Tappx ads, earning from interstitial and rewarded ads. Multiple accounts spread takedown risk and let them take more slots in search results. This app is just one package in the matrix. What makes it distinctive is that it sits in PERSONALIZATION and adds "Wallpaper" to the title.
III. Competitors

4. Copycats (all 2026 years 9–October, same product)
- ZOBEST TECHNOLOGIES "Romantic Stickers - WASticker", listed 2026-10-20, 539k installs
- Zuviax Mobile Apps "Romantic Emoji Sticker Maker" (2026-09-14.4M) and "Romantic Stickers – WAStickers" (2026-09-15.7M)
- Game Empire Studio "Sticker Maker: Love Emoji", charting alongside this app (ae personalized #11), 108k installs
- These also use the free app-ads-txt.com subdomains, but their AdMob IDs differ (ZOBEST and Zuviax share pub-5310801837882150, which indicates a separate matrix). Several matrices are already piling into the romantic WASticker niche.
5. Growth tactics
- Multi-account matrix + re-listing (confirmed): the shared AdMob / Meta ID evidence is above.
- ASO keyword stuffing + category switch (confirmed): the title is packed with three search-term groups and filed under PERSONALIZATION, out of step with other matrix packages filed under COMMUNICATION.
- Paid acquisition or store recommendations (inferred, unverified): from 10-29, several storefronts (ae / in / sa / kr / us) began rising steadily on the same day, the product wasn't updated, and the rating rate is extremely low. This pattern matches Google App Campaigns (UAC) scaling up, or Play placing it in recommendation slots. It is not on our googleads / metaads tracking list (adv_map and advertiser both return nothing), so it can't be confirmed.
- Content and creator channels: over the last 30 days, X (x-radar) returned 0 results for "Stickorax", and TikTok search returned nothing. There is no evidence of a content channel.
- Why users come: WhatsApp is widespread in the Middle East, South Asia, and Southeast Asia, where sending romantic stickers and heart emoji is high-frequency behavior, and official stickers are not localized enough. Users stay because once stickers are installed in WhatsApp they keep being used. That doesn't mean they open the app often, though; ad revenue mainly comes from interstitials shown on first use.
VI. Visibility
Hardly anyone knows about it yet. Online there are only automated aggregator pages like AppBrain, Apptopia, Softonic, and APKPure. There are no media pieces, X or Reddit discussions, or public revenue figures.
7. What's worth borrowing
- Category mismatch: the same niche can't break through in a crowded category, but moving to an adjacent, weakly contested one (COMMUNICATION to PERSONALIZATION) can push it to #1 and earn organic traffic from category charts.
- Low-cost white-label matrix: content like stickers and wallpapers costs almost nothing to produce. Spread across multiple accounts and package names, hosted on free app-ads-txt, and bidding against AdMob + Meta + Tappx, it can pull anywhere from 5k to 9M installs.
- They picked the long-tail "cheesy romance" niche for WhatsApp in the Middle East, India, and Southeast Asia, which major companies' official sticker packs don't cover.
VIII. Unknowns
- Is November a paid acquisition push or a Play recommendation? No ad library evidence; if it's paid, I don't know whether cost per install and ad eCPM can break even.
- The entity behind the portfolio and its country are unclear. The emails are all gmail and the names look South Asian; unverified.
- Star distribution looks abnormal. Possibly review incentives or fake reviews; unverified.
- No retention data; the review sample is too small.
