"He hadn't even said anything and I already knew where he lived": a Polish video editor sold an ome.tv location script for four years before listing it on the Chrome Web Store
What it is A Chrome extension that adds an overlay to the random video chat site ome.tv, showing the stranger on the other end's city, carrier and whether they're using a VPN, and it can auto-skip by location, gender or bot. VIP starts at €2 top-up.
Why it took off The founder's day job is cutting short videos. He posted TikToks of "I knew where they lived before they said anything," 10–260k views per clip, and over four years built a paying Discord of 17.5k people. When the version went up on the store in October, long-time users moved over in bulk.
CHow you could follow Don't build another plugin that locates strangers. If you can make short videos and play on a young-people platform, find a platform where the official app withholds some information, build a privacy-safe overlay tool, treat demonstrating the tool as content, and grow through Discord login, a balance-based local payment, and a referral code system.

OME.UNDFND is a Chrome extension that adds an overlay to the random video chat site ome.tv: it shows the stranger's city, carrier, and whether they're on a VPN, and can auto-skip by location, gender, or bots. It launched in Oct 6, with 4,000 users in a month and 25 reviews, all 5 stars. Looks like a cold-start launch, but it isn't: the maker had been selling this script since 2022, built a 17.5k-member Discord off self-shot prank videos, and when the store version went up, the old users moved over in bulk. What's worth studying is the acquisition and monetization playbook behind it; copying one takes real effort, and the risks are not small.
Oct 4
On October 4, 2026, TikTok account @undfnd_ posted a 29-second video captioned in Polish: "wiem gdzie mieszka i gdzie chodzi do szkoły zanim cokolwiek powie 😂" — before they've said a word, I know where he lives and where he goes to school. The ending line: "new tutorial on my YouTube." It has 110k views (TikHub, 11-06).
Two days later, on Oct 6, OME.UNDFND went live on the Chrome Web Store. The site's update log for that day reads "OME.UNDFND is on the Chrome Web Store." Every "Add to Chrome" button on the site now links straight to the store, the Discord welcome message changed too, and existing users were told to "delete the zip and install the store version."
This account has several more videos in the same vein: Jul 24 "znam ich miasto ODRAZU" (I know their city RIGHT AWAY), 260k views; Aug 22 "wiem gdzie mieszka zanim cokolwiek powie", 210k; Apr 18 an English one, "This tool know your city on OME TV", 200k. Every one follows the same formula: screen recording of ome.tv, the stranger has just appeared, and a city name pops up in the corner.
Who is behind it
Behind the account is a 22-year-old Pole. His personal page at undfnd.eu says he has been editing videos since 2014, and his day job is cutting clips for TikTok and YouTube creators. The same page says the script was "Written in 2022." TikTok has 29k followers and 98 videos. YouTube has 2,040 subscribers, and the tutorial titles follow one template: "JAK LOKALIZOWAĆ OSOBY NA OME.TV W 2026 (LINK W OPISIE)" (how to locate people on ome.tv in 2026, link in the description), with the top one at 23k views.
In other words, the person who built this plugin works in short video, and the tool's output, "I know where you are," is itself a ready-made short video. The tool and the acquisition are the same thing.
How far it got
On the store: 4,000 users, 5.0 ratings averaging 25 stars, and 11-04 to 11-06 days of no movement (Chrome Web Store).
The site has a public data page, with numbers the developer self-reports (11-06 snapshot): 30-day active members of 3,609 people, and 2.95M strangers identified in total. Daily queries average 95k. Before Oct 21 it was 4–80k a day; from Oct 23 to 31 it spiked to 15–196k, then fell back to 5k in Nov 49. The peak lines up with the store launch and the big overlay update at the end of October, but I could not find which video or creator drove it.
The store has 4,000 users and the 30-day active count is nearly the same at 3,609, so you can reasonably conclude that store users are mostly existing users who migrated over, not new people found through store search.
One more thing: from Nov 6, opening its store page without being signed into a Google account shows "This item is not available." The developer added a note to the update log that day saying the store page "requires sign-in, or it looks like the plugin doesn't exist," and added the same line next to each install button. It looks more like the store put it behind a sign-in gate as sensitive content than like a takedown (inference).
Why users are willing to pay
ome.tv is random-pairing video chat, and most conversations are very short. The site's data page says only 9.4% of conversations last past 15 seconds. Users who skip a lot want to know before the other person speaks: which city, male or female, and whether it's a real person or a looped recording, so they can skip the ones they don't want. ome.tv itself offers none of this.
The free allowance is 600 queries for a new account, then 100 a day. The site's own figures say heavy users average 30 queries over 818 days, so they hit the limit quickly. Paying works on a balance:
| VIP time | Pricing |
|---|---|
| 3 days | €2 |
| 14 days | €4 |
| 30 days | €6 |
| 1 years | €20 |
| Lifetime | €40 |
Top-ups accept BLIK (Poland's six-digit mobile bank code payment), PayPal, Revolut, and 6 cryptocurrencies. Teenagers without a credit card can pay too.
On top of the wallet sits a whole layer of gamification: loot boxes (with a fairness check, and you can battle with them), a seasonal pass with 30 tiers, XP levels, badges, leaderboards, and daily tasks. The whole setup is borrowed from CS case-opening sites, and it fits its users exactly: teenage and young adult men in Poland, viewers of Kick and Twitch. The site shows 259 positive reviews from Discord, and the oldest reads "legit korzystam od 2022 roku" (honestly, I've been using it since 2022).
Where users come from
Make the short videos yourself. The ones above are the main channel. YouTube long-form tutorials catch viewers who finish a short and want to learn more, with a link in the description. "ome.tv location prank" is a big category on TikTok, and similar videos from others reach hundreds of thousands or millions of views (for example, an Indonesian-language "find out where they live" prank with 11.6M views). Viewers then search "ome tv location."
Force Discord sign-in. Accounts must be at least 90 days old. That stops people from making throwaway accounts to farm the free allowance, and it puts every user into its Discord (17,509 members, about 4,000,11-06 online). In Nov 6 it added an invite reward: refer one new person and you each get 1,000 free queries, up to 5 referrals per person.
The referral code doubles as a discount code and a commission code. Every account gets one code. Buyers who use it get a discount, and the referrer earns a cut: 10% on cumulative spend under €50, 15% above €50, and 20% above €200. Payouts go to PayPal or Revolut once you reach €5. Content creators also get a separate "partner" status with full VIP and a custom code, and the site has OBS stream banners ready in 9 languages so streamers can drop codes in their Kick streams. One review says "legit kocham keydropy na kick" (I really love Kick code drops).
Sister sites send traffic to each other. The same person also runs kicktools.pl, a free OBS tool for Kick streamers, and the two sites link to each other.
Content written for search and AI. The site has 30 blog posts, a dozen-plus guides, and 9 languages, with titles built around search terms: how to unban ome.tv, what to do when ome.tv won't show girls, the best ome.tv location tool. One comparison page opens with "When you ask an AI assistant for the best ome.tv location tool...," which exists to correct outdated competitor information in AI answers.

Who it's competing with
| Competitors | Where | Scale | How it differs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Videochat Extension - IP Locator for Omegle | Chrome / Edge / Firefox,2021 | 100k users, 4.24 rating | A general tool that works on all Omegle-style sites; the open-source repo was archived after 2025 years and went closed-source; no community, no revenue share |
| Chromegle | Chrome,2021 | 50k users | Built for Omegle; largely obsolete since Omegle shut down in November 2023 |
| DuoMeet | Chrome,2026-04 | 30k users | Only does split-screen for two friends on ome.tv, no location |
| OmeTV Assistant | Chrome,2026-05 | 1,000 users | Country filter and hotkeys; a light utility |
| An ome.tv location script on Greasy Fork | A userscript, 2021 | 10k installs | Free, but you have to supply your own IP lookup API key; stuck at v0.2, unmaintained |
| Similar scripts on GitHub | Open source | — | You have to paste it into the console with F12, a high barrier |
It's the only one actively updated and built specifically for ome.tv: from Sep 29 to Nov 6, the update log records 37 release dates. That matters, because when ome.tv changes its frontend, any script that has stopped being updated breaks.
It has little name recognition either: no press coverage, almost no discussion on X, and no public revenue figures. It spreads only through Polish-language TikTok, YouTube, and its own Discord. The FAQ does specifically warn "'working scripts' posted in other Discord servers are not ours," which suggests people are impersonating it.
The biggest risks
What this product does, plainly, is read the IP of a stranger in a video chat and tell you which city they're in. The privacy and harassment concerns are unavoidable. The Chrome store has already put a sign-in gate on it, and a full removal someday would not be surprising; ome.tv can change its frontend or ban accounts at any time. On the other side, loot boxes plus a balance plus manual top-ups, sold to teenagers, carry gambling and minors-spending regulatory risk in the EU.
The developer clearly knows this. In Nov 6 he cut the cache for stranger lookup results from 30 days to 12 hours and deletes them, and the data page repeatedly stresses that "no personal information, accounts, or addresses are shown."
If it were you
My take: don't copy this as an ome.tv location plugin. Its real asset is its founder's four years of short video and a 17.5k-person community, which followers can't replicate. The product itself sits on the edge of privacy and platform policy, and the store is already restricting it. What's worth taking is the playbook.
Who it suits: people who can make short videos, and who are already players on a platform where young people cluster (gaming, streaming, social), and who can live with a product that sits on the edge and may need to change at any time.
Who it doesn't suit: people who only write code and don't make content; people who want a clean product that can sit on a store for years without trouble; people who can't stomach the regulatory risk of doing business with minors.
How to do it: find a high-traffic platform whose users are mainly young people and where the platform deliberately withholds one particular piece of information or automation. Build an overlay that "adds information + auto-skips." Pick information that doesn't touch anyone's privacy (match stats, stream analytics, matchmaking filters) and stay away from locating strangers. Sell it first the way it did, through a script or zip in a small circle, to prove people will pay, then go to the store. For payments, use a balance system, accept local payment methods, keep the entry price low at €2, and add things that bring people back, like seasons and levels.
How to get users: open your own account and make videos about the tool's results, since the tool's output is the content. Use Discord sign-in to pull users into a community, set an account-age threshold to block throwaways, and make referral codes that discount for buyers and pay out to referrers. Give streamers banners so they can promote it during streams.
When the window closes: there's no fixed date. This kind of play depends on the platform. Once the platform builds the same filtering feature itself, or starts banning overlay plugins, the window is shut.
Signs you've misread it: (1) You've made videos for two or three months and the views are there, but conversion from watching to installing to paying is low, which means "entertaining" and "want to use it" are different things. (2) Looking back at OME.UNDFND: if its store page gets taken down before next year and its Discord and payments barely suffer, the money was never in the store, it was in the community, so you need a community first. (3) The reverse: if the community falls apart along with the store, then this whole category of "platform-edge tools" can't hold up.

OME.UNDFND: IP Locator & Auto Skip for Ome.tv (Chrome): why it works
Research date 2026-11-06. Data card: chrome_colpgimndnhkcgcagdolibiccpofmhdd. Numbers are sourced; anything unverified is marked "unverified".
Bottom line
It's not a cold-start product. A 22-year-old Polish developer has been making an IP-location script for ome.tv since 2022, driving traffic with his own TikTok shorts ("I know where you live") and building a paid community of 17.5k people on Discord. 2026-10-06 He moved from zip/paste scripts to the Chrome Store version, and old users migrated in bulk, so the store hit 4,000 users and 25 5-star reviews within a month. The real thing to study is the monetization machine behind it: Discord login, a VIP credit system from €2, loot cases, a season pass, and a 10-20% affiliate program for streamers. That stack is heavier than any of its peers.

On the "unavailable" listing: the official changelog 11-06 added a specific note: "The store page needs you signed in to a Google account, and otherwise it can look as if the extension does not exist", and a line saying the same appears next to every Add to Chrome button. It looks more like the store put it behind a sign-in gate for adult/sensitive content than a takedown. But our scraping has not been able to see the detail page since 11-07, so later user counts have to come from related cards.

Bottom line: this niche has one big player (Videochat Extension, 100k users) and a pile of abandoned small tools. Only one product is built specifically for ome.tv and still shipping at high frequency. The official changelog logs 37 release dates between 9-29 and 11-06, nearly daily.
3. Where users came from (growth tactics)
- The founder makes short videos himself (main channel, confirmed). TikTok @undfnd_ has 29k followers, mostly Polish-language stunt/prank clips along the lines of "wiem gdzie mieszka zanim cokolwiek powie" (I know where he lives before he says a word). The 2026-07-24 video got 260k views, the 08-22 one 210k, the English version of 04-18 200k, and the 10-04 one 110k. The bio reads "Linki na mojej stronie UNDFND.EU". On YouTube he posts long companion tutorials with a uniform title, "JAK LOKALIZOWAĆ OSOBY NA OME.TV W 2026 (LINK W OPISIE)", with 23k views. Video is his trade: he edits clips for TikTok/YouTube creators (undfnd.eu).
- Riding the wider "ome.tv location prank" content category (category confirmed, direct link unverified). The category does big numbers on TikTok: for example @dave24.x's "#ometv #hacks #location" got 960k views (2026-08-30), and Indonesian creator @kazu_nr's "lacak lokasi rumah" prank got 11.6M views. Viewers who finish these search for "ome tv location", and the official site and videos catch those searches.
- Discord community and Discord login (confirmed). Logging in requires a Discord account at least 90 days old (an inviter needs an account 180 days old), which blocks freeloaders and pulls every user into its Discord (17.5k people). 11-06 it launched an invite reward: both sides get 1,000 free lookups, up to 5 per person.
- Affiliate program and streamer code drops (confirmed). Each account has its own referral code, which works as both a buyer discount and a referrer commission: 10% on cumulative spend under €50, 15% above €50, 20% above €200, and withdrawals via PayPal/Revolut start at €5. There is also an "Affiliate partner" role for content creators, with a full VIP and a custom code. The changelog includes a set of OBS promo banners (code drops, wins, rotating referral codes, in 9 languages). In the Discord testimonials someone wrote "legit kocham keydropy na kick", which suggests streamers drop codes in their Kick streams.
- Cross-traffic with sister site kicktools.pl (confirmed). The same team makes free OBS tools for Kick streamers (in Polish), and the two sites link to each other (tagged utm_source=ome.undfnd.eu).
- SEO and "answer engine" content (confirmed). The site has 30 blog posts, 10 guides, and 9 languages, with titles written around search queries: ome-tv-mod, unban-ome-tv, best-ome-tv-ip-locators, ome-tv-not-showing-girls. The comparison page openly says "Ask an assistant for the best Ome.tv locator…", meaning it is built to correct outdated competitor info in AI answers. There is also the /state-of-ometv platform data report and the free /ip-lookup tool page, both used as backlink and search-traffic assets.
- Going to the store itself (confirmed). Starting 10-06, the on-site Add to Chrome button links straight to the store. The Discord welcome message was also updated to the store version, with a reminder to existing users to 「remove the zip, add the store version」. The store's 4,000 users are nearly the same as the 3,609 active members of the last 30 days, so it's safe to conclude this is existing users migrating, not new users from store search.
- Paid acquisition: no evidence found. The ad library only tracks products on its list, so finding nothing doesn't mean there was no spend.
The late-October peak: the officially self-reported daily query count went from about 5-80k before 10-21, to 15-196k between 10-23 and 10-31, then fell back to 49k around 11-05. The timing matches the store launch, the Extension 2.0 trailer (10-07), and the Overlay 6.6 (10-27), but unverified which video or streamer drove it.
4. Why people stay and pay
- The demand it hits is direct: ome.tv is random video chat, and 91% of conversations end within 15 seconds (official /state-of-ometv). Users want to know the stranger's city, gender, and whether it's a bot or a loop before they speak, then skip automatically. The official app offers none of this. The core selling point, "knowing which city the other person is in", is itself prank material, and users film and share it on their own.
- The free tier is enough to try it: 600 lookups for new accounts, then 100 per day. Heavy users scroll through hundreds of strangers a day (30-day average of 818 lookups per person), hit the cap quickly, and have a reason to pay.
- Low prices, local payment methods: VIP 3 days €2, 14 days €4, 30 days €6, 1 year €20, lifetime €40. It runs on a credit balance and can be topped up with BLIK (Polish local payments), PayPal, Revolut, and 6 cryptocurrencies, mostly with manual confirmation. Teens without credit cards can still pay, and it sidesteps Chrome Store and Stripe review.
- Gamified retention: loot cases (with a provably fair check and battles), a 30-tier season pass (free track €2, paid track €12 in balance plus 11 days of VIP), XP levels, badges, a pixel canvas, leaderboards, and daily tasks. One user says "you don't have to spend money, just use it and open cases". The approach copies CS case sites and Key-Drop mechanics and fits its audience (Polish teen males, Kick/Twitch viewers) closely.
- Word of mouth: the official site shows 259 Discord testimonials, the earliest reading "legit korzystam od 2022 roku" ("I've been using it since 2022").
5. Differentiation
- One site, built deep: competitors are either general tools covering every Omegle-style site (Videochat Extension) or abandoned single-feature scripts. This one only does ome.tv, but packs location, VPN flags, gender and bot detection, auto-skip, prank cameras, Spectator (connecting two strangers to each other), Party, phone-as-camera, and streamer skip voting into one overlay.
- Community plus monetization system, not just a tool: forced Discord login, balance wallet, loot boxes, seasons, referral commissions, streamer banners. No competitor has this layer.
- Localization: started in Polish, expanded to 9 languages, with BLIK payments. And ome.tv's traffic itself is mostly from Poland and Germany.
- Is that what drove the breakout? Partly. The direct cause on the 4,000 store was migration from existing users. How did that user base build up? Through the founder's four years of short-form video content, plus a retention and monetization playbook of "Discord community + cheap VIP + gamification." Pure tool-level differences (more features) aren't the main driver; free scripts of the same kind are everywhere. The real moat is content-driven acquisition plus community.
6. Visibility and copycats
- Visibility: spreading in small circles. No media coverage. x-radar shows undfnd/ometv was searched 0 times in the last 60 days, and revenue isn't public. It mainly circulates in Polish TikTok/YouTube and the founder's own Discord (17.5k members).
- Copycats: none clearly seen yet. In 2026 years, several ome.tv-specific mini extensions have appeared (OmeTV Assistant 1,000, DuoMeet 30k, StreamShield 20), but they each do a single feature, and none look like they're copying the model. The official site FAQ warns "A 'working script' from another Discord server… is not ours," which suggests people are using its name to sell scripts.
7. What to borrow
- Find a single platform with heavy consumer traffic that deliberately withholds some kind of information (random video chat, a certain game, a certain livestream site), and build an overlay layer of "information enhancement + automation."
- Have the founder film short videos of "using the tool to prank/show off": the tool's output is itself content material, and the tool and acquisition are one thing.
- Use Discord OAuth plus an account age gate: filters out freeloaders on one hand, and pulls users into the community on the other.
- A balance wallet and local payments aimed at teens (BLIK, crypto, manual review), plus loot boxes/seasons/XP. Average order starts at just €2, but repeat purchases and sharing are strong.
- Referral codes give buyers a discount and give the referrer a commission, and streamers get ready-made OBS banners and code drops so they promote it casually during streams.
- Sell for a few years in small circles via zip/scripts first, validate willingness to pay, then go to the store, so there's an existing user base on day one.
8. Risks and uncertainties
- High platform and policy risk: the product reads the other party's WebRTC IP to locate strangers, which raises privacy and harassment concerns. The store has already added a login gate (flagged as possibly adult/sensitive), and it could still be delisted at any time. ome.tv can change its frontend or ban accounts at any time; the changelog shows repeated changes to adapt to ome.tv.
- The loot box plus manually topped-up balance model carries gambling and minor-spending regulatory risk in the EU.
- Unverified: actual paying users and revenue; which channel drove the doubling of queries in late October; whether the store is currently restricted or under review for removal; the specifics of ome.tv's official in-app paid filter; star counts of similar GitHub scripts.
- "30 days of active users, 3,609 people, 95k daily queries" are all self-reported by the developer on their website, not third-party data.
