Helping Indian pilgrims snag Tirumala temple tickets: a copy-paste mini extension took it to 2k users in one week around a ticket release
What it is A free Chrome extension that stores your family's names and Aadhaar numbers, then lets you copy and paste them into the Tirumala temple (India) ticket form with one click.
Why it took off The temple releases tickets once a month, on a fixed day, and they sell out within minutes. Typing 12 Aadhaar numbers by hand is too slow. The developer posted a free extension with real screen recordings to the Reddit community for ticket-snagging, timed to the Sep 24 release, and it grew 8x in one week.
CHow you could follow it Don't pile into TTD. Take the playbook: find a booking flow with a fixed release date and a long form, build a compliant version where users paste their own details, and before the release date, post real stories and screen recordings in the communities where that audience gathers.

TTD QuickFill is a free Chrome extension built by Niranjan V, a developer in Bengaluru. You store your family's names and 12-digit Aadhaar numbers (India's national ID) once, then click to copy and paste them when booking ₹300 Tirumala temple tickets. When the temple released December tickets on Sep 24, it went from 254 users to 2,000 in one week, then flatlined. What it shows is how demand for a "fixed-date ticket booking form" can spike, and how crowded this category has become.
"My dream came true"
On 2026 Sep 22, a user named Raghu HN left a five-star review for TTD QuickFill on the Chrome Web Store:
"Just wow. With your extension and Swamy's blessings, my dream came true."
The "dream" was a ₹300 Special Entry Darshan ticket at the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) temple, roughly ¥25. TTD releases tickets for months ahead on one fixed day each month, and they're gone within minutes. Each booking allows up to 6 people, and each person needs a name, age, gender, ID type, and 12-digit Aadhaar number. Those typing by hand often hit "Quota Full" before they finish.
Two days later, on the morning of Sep 24, TTD released December tickets (TTD official news, announced 9-12 ahead). According to historical user-count data from third-party extension trackers, QuickFill had 21 users on Sep 254, 25 by Sep 1,000, and 27 by Sep 2,000. Since its Aug 22 listing, nearly all of its growth has happened in that one week.
The store has 10 ratings in total, all five stars, and almost all say the same thing: got the ticket, may the developer be blessed.

How it works: store each pilgrim's details in the extension popup once (up to 5 profiles, e.g. "Family", "Parents", "Solo"). Open the TTD booking page, and a 📋 button sits in the bottom right; click it to open the copy panel. Click "Name", then Ctrl+V into the form. It has a "Rapid mode": after each paste, the next value goes straight to the clipboard, so filling 6 people means clicking a field, pasting, and repeating. Pick age, gender and ID type yourself.
The extension is only 71KB with 4 permissions (storage, clipboard, notifications, alarms), and it doesn't even request access to the TTD website.
Why it took off
The demand shows up on schedule every month, and people will pay for it. On the Reddit subreddit r/TirumalaDarshan, where TTD booking people trade tips, form-filling for hire is an established side business: people on Telegram charge ₹1,000 per booking to fill forms for others, and speed is the whole skill. For a ₹300 ticket, some people will pay more than three times that to have someone else do the typing.
The developer promoted it in that subreddit himself. On Aug 25, the author posted "TTD QuickFill – Free Chrome Extension for TTD Special Entry Darshan 🙏" from the account u/Illustrious-You-3471, got 80 upvotes and 20 comments, and attached a screen recording of a real booking. On Sep 24, the release-day booking, he posted a mobile version teaser that got 38 upvotes. This subreddit is where people discuss TTD online booking tactics, and before each release day someone always asks "what extension do you use?"
Free. Some of the earlier competitors had already started charging, and people in the subreddit complained: "TTD Autofill extension isn't free anymore." One Chrome Web Store review of QuickFill from August reads "best plugin for ttd forms and free too".
The timing worked. The posts, the free offer and the screen recordings built word of mouth, and it paid off on the Sep 24 release day. After that day, new users stopped arriving.
TTD started blocking plugins, and it changed its approach
On Oct 13, the TTD website began intercepting automated form filling: values injected by scripts were cleared. A TTD news account on X posted "Good news … TTD website now blocking autofill extensions", which reached 142k views.
The next day (10-14), QuickFill shipped version 3.0.3, switching from "auto-fill" to the current "click to copy, paste it yourself" model and cutting its permissions from 7 to 4. The store description now says directly: "TTD's booking form only accepts what you type or paste yourself, so QuickFill doesn't fill or submit anything for you." The author also posted a "TTD has blocked auto-fill extensions" notice in the subreddit (37 upvotes, 28 comments), noting his plugin had already been updated. On Oct 25 a user even commented that they had booked a ticket with it.
To be clear, the version users had until 2,000 still auto-filled. The "compliant copy-paste" change came later. It preserved the extension but did not boost it. The October release after the block brought no new growth, and the category was shrinking at the same time: Tirumala Darshan Assistant fell from 9,000 to 8,000, and Autofill Assist fell from 2,000 to 1,000 (Chrome Web Store, November).
Where the money comes from
The Chrome version is free. The money is on mobile: the Android app is free to download, and on release day you buy a 24-hour pass inside the app for ₹50, paid via UPI or card (Dodo Payments). Charging only on the day it's needed keeps the barrier low and matches the demand rhythm.
It can't go on Google Play. The author said on Reddit that it was rejected several times (the app embeds the TTD official site and uses "TTD" in its name), so APKs are distributed from GitHub. The website even has a section: "If an app called TTD QuickFill asks for your camera, contacts or SMS permissions, it is not ours, uninstall it immediately." Total APK downloads are around 236. Even if all of them paid, revenue would be in the low thousands to ten thousand rupees (estimate), pocket money.
Competitors that charge more aggressively: TTD AUTOFILL PRO, sold off-store at ₹1,499 / 3 months; TTD Darshan Autofill, selling passes per use; and the two with the largest user bases (30k and 10k) both have in-app purchases or subscriptions. People are paying, but QuickFill isn't the one collecting it.
Who it's competing with

(Chrome Web Store, 11-06)
The most telling case is the origin of the second-place TTD Autofill Assistant. Early 2026, its author posted in the same subreddit, opening with "My dad lost a ticket because typing his Aadhaar was too slow, my cousin paid ₹1000 to someone on Telegram, they were just faster at typing", saying "I'm not an agent, this is completely free". The post got 138 upvotes and 106 comments. Today it has 10k users and is labeled Premium. QuickFill followed the same path: same community, same "free" pitch, same developer stepping in personally. It just arrived eight months later, when the shelf already had twenty-odd products.
If it were you
Verdict: you can learn a playbook here, but chasing TTD as a category isn't worth it. Twenty-odd extensions are competing for one release day a month, TTD has started blocking automation, and QuickFill itself stopped at 2,000. The transferable pattern: find a place with a fixed release date, tickets that sell out in minutes, and long forms, and get there before others do.
Good fit for: people who are already inside a "booking community" and know its rules and slang: reservations for temples and attractions outside India, visa or consulate appointments in certain countries, hospital registration, popular exam sign-ups. Ideally someone fluent in that language and community who can post in their native tongue and answer questions in the comments.
Not a good fit for: anyone wanting to build another one in a crowded place like TTD or Indian train booking (IRCTC Tatkal); anyone hoping to live on subscriptions (demand appears one day a month, and free alternatives are everywhere); anyone unwilling to post and reply in the community and just wanting to list and rely on search traffic.
How to build it: a tens-of-KB extension that can be finished in one to two weeks. Build it from day one as "user pastes and submits themselves", request as few permissions as possible, and stay away from CAPTCHAs, OTPs and auto-submit. If the platform blocks it, auto-fill dies first. Add a release-day alert and countdown so that "when it opens" becomes part of the product.
How to get users: copy what QuickFill and the 10k-user competitor did: in the forums or groups where people needing these bookings gather, open with a real story, record an actual booking walkthrough, and state clearly that it's free. Post two or three days before the release, then post again on release day. Growth concentrates in the release week; after that it runs on word of mouth and the next monthly release.
When to be early: the sooner the better, and you need to be listed before the next release. In this category, going from the first extension to twenty-odd took only eight or nine months.
What would show the read is wrong: ① QuickFill or a similar product grows again on a later release day (say, past 3,000), which would mean there's more room here than it looks; ② a new similar extension for a booking scenario outside TTD crosses 10k through community posts within one or two releases, which would mean the model replicates and is worth doubling down on; ③ the reverse: if TTD moves to a lottery or forces face or CAPTCHA checks on every field, copy-paste stops saving time and this whole class of extension disappears.

One line
TTD QuickFill is a free Chrome extension built by Niranjan V, an individual developer in Bengaluru. Users store a pilgrim's name and 12-digit Aadhaar number in the extension once; when booking Tirumala Venkateswara Temple (TTD) tickets such as the ₹300 Special Entry Darshan, a copy panel appears in the bottom right of the page, and each click copies a value that the user then pastes into the form. In the "TTD booking assistant" extension category it sits in the mid-to-small range: 2,000 users, 5.0 rating, 10 ratings.

- Users grew about 23× in a month, almost all of it in the 9/21–9/27 week, then flat since.
- The Android APK has about 236 downloads total across 7 releases on GitHub releases (v2.2 79 downloads, v1.4–v2.1 157 combined; gh api, 2026-11-06). Android volume is tiny.
2. Why it took off
(1) The demand is a must-have on ticket drop day, and it repeats every month. TTD releases the next month's ₹300 SED tickets on a fixed schedule: December tickets drop on 2026-09-24 10:00, January tickets around October 18–25 (TTD News 2026-09-12; ttddarshanautofill.com). Tickets sell out in minutes, a family can book up to 6 people, and each person needs a name, age, gender, ID type and a 12-digit Aadhaar number typed in. Typing it by hand is too slow. A Reddit post reads: "My dad typed the Aadhaar too slowly and lost the tickets, my cousin paid ₹1000 to someone on Telegram who just types faster" (r/TirumalaDarshan summary). Scalpers and paid booking services exist, which shows the thing is worth money.
(2) The growth started with the 9/24 ticket drop. Users went from 9/21 to 254,9/25 to 1k, then 9/27 to 2k, which covers the day December tickets dropped, 9/24. The same day, developer u/Illustrious-You-3471 posted "TTD QuickFill Mobile app" on r/TirumalaDarshan (38 votes, 10 comments), teasing an Android app in the post.
(3) Users came mainly from Reddit, through posts by the developer himself. 2026-08-25 He posted "TTD QuickFill – Free Chrome Extension for TTD Special Entry Darshan 🙏" on r/TirumalaDarshan (80 votes, 20 comments), with a screen recording of a real booking. The subreddit is full of booking guides and extension reviews, so it's where online TTD bookers gather. In October he posted "TTD has blocked auto-fill extensions" (37 votes, 28 comments), which warned people and also pushed his own extension.
(4) Free, and deliberately "conservative": it shipped just as TTD started blocking plugins. 2026-10-13 TTD's site began blocking autofill: values the script filled in were getting wiped (@ttd_updates' tweet got 142k views, saying "Good news … TTD website now blocking autofill extensions"). The next day (10-14) QuickFill shipped 3.0.3, switching to "click to copy, then Ctrl+V yourself, and the next value auto-copies after each paste" in Rapid mode. Permissions dropped from 7 to 4 (alarms / clipboardWrite / notifications / storage, with no site permissions at all). The store listing says outright: "TTD's booking form accepts only details you type or paste yourself, so QuickFill never fills or submits the form for you."
But its users had already reached 2k before the block. The October drop after the block brought no new growth, and in November the whole category kept sliding: Tirumala Darshan Assistant fell from 9,000 to 8,000, Autofill Assist from 2,000 to 1,000. So the "compliant copy-paste" change looks more like it kept 2k users than like what pushed it up.
3. Competitors: a whole matrix of identical clones (chromestore library, 2026-11-06)

| Another dozen or so | Each < 800 | 2026-08 to 2026-10 | Names are all like TTD Auto Fill / Seva Helper / Booking Assistant |
- Off-store competitors: ttdautofill.com's TTD AUTOFILL PRO sells for ₹1,499 / 3 months (data card); ttdbooking.in's "Auto Fill for TTD Bookings" is free, listed on Firefox and Firefox Android, and shows a UPI tip code after a successful booking; Firefox also has Tirupati Autofill.
- Offline substitutes: Telegram and agents charge about ₹1000 per booking to fill the form for people (Reddit summary).
- Big-platform features: Chrome's built-in autofill doesn't work for Aadhaar and multi-person lists. TTD now clears values that aren't typed by a human.
- Copycats: the matrix mostly appeared in 2026-08, clustered in September, at the same time as or after QuickFill. There's no evidence it was copied from QuickFill specifically, but the "Quick Paste" and "copy panel" approach was adopted after the TTD block by Tirumala Darshan Assistant, TTD Darshan Autofill and others at the same time.
4. Growth tactics
| Channel | Evidence | Confirmed? |
|---|---|---|
| Reddit subreddit founder posts | r/TirumalaDarshan: 08-25 launch post 80 votes / 20 comments; 09-24 mobile app post 38 votes / 10 comments; October TTD block post 37 votes / 28 comments, all by u/Illustrious-You-3471 | Confirmed |
| Ticket drop day (platform event) | 9/24 December tickets drop, weekly users 254 → 2k | Timing matches, strong inference |
| Real booking recording used as demo | "Live booking video" on both the Reddit post and the official site ttd-quickfill.vercel.app | Confirmed |
| Store search / related recommendations | QuickFill appears in competitors' "related extensions" section (Brave summary) | Confirmed it appears, traffic volume unknown |
| Google Ads | Developer said on Reddit "Google requires the app to be on Play before we can run Google Ads, and we're going through that process"; the privacy policy also mentions AdMob | Planned, no confirmed spend |
| Android APK sideloading | Rejected by Play several times (embedding the TTD official site in the app, using "TTD" in the name), so the APK moved to GitHub, with about 236 total downloads | Confirmed, small volume |
5. Pricing
The Chrome extension is completely free. The Android app is free to download, with an in-app "24-hour pass" originally ₹100, now 50% off at ₹50, paid via UPI or card through Dodo Payments, and only needed on ticket drop day. The model is a free desktop funnel with a pay-per-use mobile version. By APK download count, even if all of them paid, revenue would be around ₹10,000, pocket-money level. Revenue is not public and not listed on TrustMRR.
6. Differentiation
- Compliant positioning: it only copies, never fills in, and never touches OTPs, verification codes or submission. Permissions are minimal, not even host permissions for the TTD site. Most other extensions sell "fill everything and go straight to payment".
- Rapid mode: each paste automatically copies the next value, so filling 6 people means clicking the field and pressing Ctrl+V. It also supports 5 profiles and drag-to-reorder.
- Free: the top two competitors are Premium or subscription-based. A user complained on Reddit "TTD Autofill extension isn't free anymore", and one comment said "best plugin for ttd forms and free too".
- Is that what made it take off? "Free + real recording + the author replying in the community" is why it got traffic on Reddit. "Compliant copy-paste" came after the block, and at launch it was still an autofill tool. The real driver was ticket-drop-day demand plus Reddit distribution, and product differentiation comes second. Its size (2k) is far smaller than the earlier Pilgrims Manager (30k) and Autofill Assistant (10k), which suggests that in this category the early one-click autofill tools did better, and QuickFill didn't pull ahead on differentiation.
7. Visibility
It's spreading in a small circle. It was only discussed in the r/TirumalaDarshan subreddit (a few dozen upvotes); no media or X accounts have written about it itself (x-radar search for "TTD autofill" returned 0 results; the @ttd_updates tweet was about the block, not QuickFill); no public revenue. But the category itself is already crowded: 20 Chrome extensions, plus Firefox versions, standalone sites and paid sites.
8. Takeaways
- Government or religious booking forms with high-frequency repeats and fixed drop times are an easy entry point for extensions: demand returns on schedule, drop dates can be announced ahead of time, and community posts can go up on drop day. India's IRCTC and Tatkal, temple bookings across the country, and visa appointments all fall in this category.
- When a platform cracks down on automation, switching immediately to a compliant "user does the action, I prepare the clipboard for you" model can keep you alive.
- Free on desktop, pay-per-day passes on mobile, charged only on the booking day: the paywall is low and matches the rhythm of demand.
- After Play rejected it, distribute the APK via GitHub Releases, plus an install video on the official site.
9. Uncertain
- The store displays the user count as "2,000", which may actually be 2,000–2,999, so whether the plateau really had zero growth is uncertain.
- Whether the new users in week 9/24 came from Reddit posts, store search or other channels (YouTube, WhatsApp groups) can't be separated. The YouTube check failed this time (API key didn't load).
- How many Android passes were actually sold is unverified.
- The full text of the original Reddit posts and comments was not retrieved, only search summaries.
