Small line at the end of each video: how a TikTok quality extension got 200k videos to advertise for it
What it is A Chrome extension for TikTok edit accounts that claims to keep uploads from getting crushed, preserving 1080p/60fps. Premium sells for $14.99/month through a Telegram bot.
Why it took off Every video posted by a free user automatically carries its name in the description, and the audience for edits is mostly editors too. 200k videos equals 200k free ads. Add a 170k-member Telegram channel, and when the old listing was pulled from the store, it brought users back to the new one within three weeks.
CHow you could follow Don't build another upload-method extension; that lane is packed. The move worth copying is the distribution: build a tool whose users publish the output on short-video platforms, have the free version automatically add a short tag to the description, remove it for paid users, and keep community and payments on Telegram or Discord.
20,000 users · rating 4.473684210526316 (19)
A Chrome extension with only 20k users and 19 ratings in the store looks ordinary. But on TikTok, its name sits in the descriptions of 200k videos, which together have 9B views. It ran no ads and no media covered it. It worked because the free version automatically adds a line to the end of every video you post, and only paying removes it. Below: what it sells, where users come from, how the money comes in, and whether you can still follow.
A five-Gojo edit with 1.7M views
In 2026 Sep 29, the TikTok edit account @tpk.vfx (46k followers) posted a Jujutsu Kaisen Gojo edit. By Nov 6 it had 1.7M views and 340k likes. The description opens with the usual tags #gojo #jujutsukaisen #animeedit, and the last line reads:
#editingnews ・ Upload Method → @editingnews.com
The same day, searching "editingnews" on TikTok, 18 of the first 20 videos ended with that same line. Demon Slayer, Naruto, Messi, K-pop and Russian political edits all carried it, posted by accounts from a few hundred followers up to 150k (@madara_t1). In Nov 2 a Russian edit got 1.1M views, and in Nov 4 a Jujutsu Kaisen edit got 220k views. By 11-06, the hashtag #editingnews totaled 206k videos and 9.02B views.
That line is Editing Enhancer's ad. Its website lists a Premium perk reading "No advertising in descriptions," meaning that without paying, the line goes into your description.
What it sells: keeping edits from getting crushed by TikTok
TikTok's "edit" accounts make anime, athlete and film edits, and this crowd cares most about picture quality and frame rate. TikTok recompresses uploads, so a carefully tuned 60-frame edit comes out mushy. The community calls the workaround for bypassing compression an "upload method."
Editing Enhancer is an upload method: install the extension, upload through the web version of TikTok, and it claims to preserve 1080p/60fps. The paid version claims 120fps, 4K, 300MB and 2 minutes. The mechanism isn't mysterious: it tampers with the MP4 container, for example by misreporting the frame count, without re-encoding the picture. In 2026 June someone reverse-engineered it into an open-source command-line tool, tiktok-quality (GitHub 29 stars), whose README says it targets the same servers. TikTok's official documentation caps uploads at 60fps, so claims of "120fps, zero compression" should be taken with a grain of salt.
The pricing is unusual too: Premium is $14.99/month or $24.99/3 for a longer term (599 rubles/month in the Russian store), and it can only be activated inside the Telegram bot @editingnews_bot, paid through a Mini App. The free version lets you upload 3 videos per week without compression. The channel's pitch, roughly: let people see their video blow up first, then charge them.
20k users didn't accumulate in 4 months; they were moved over
The store shows it at 2026-07-15 users, but it had 20k in early November and didn't grow from 11-01 to 11-05. It looks like "from zero to 20k in 4 months," but it isn't.
Its predecessor, "TikTok Enhancer - Editing News & Re:TikTok", had about 30k users and 65 ratings. 2026-06-25 It was pulled from the Chrome Web Store. Three weeks later a new listing went up, and the Telegram channel 07-19 posted "New Enhanced Method", pointing people to the new link. Of the 8 reviews visible on the new listing, 7 were posted between 07-15 and 07-19, with text like "peak method" and "best method". Likely users from the community were pushed to leave ratings (inference).
The real user pool is on Telegram. The channel @editing_news was created in 2025-01, had 2025-06 members in 3,000, 2025-10 members in 10, and its page now shows 173,796 members as of 2026-11-06. Early versions required following the channel to get an activation code; later it switched to automatic registration by bot. Payment, support (an AI bot), updates and giveaways all happen inside Telegram. The store is only an install point; when a listing is pulled, a new ID brings people back.
How people arrive
| Channel | The evidence | Weight |
|---|---|---|
| Free users' video descriptions automatically carry the tag | #editingnews, 206k videos, 9B views (TikTok, 11-06); big accounts like @crock.x (898k followers) and @omavfx (205k followers) also use it | Main driver |
| Telegram channel and bot | 174k subscribers; giveaways of 5 months of Premium, conditional on installing the extension and staying subscribed | User pool and checkout |
| Partnership and distribution channels | 2025-06 launched "Editing Partnership," recruiting people willing to promote it; partners get the new method first. Another upload-method channel, Kuronai Studio (69.8k subscribers), now forwards its posts and carries its purchase button. | Medium |
| Its own tutorial accounts | TikTok @editingnews.com has 16k followers; an Android tutorial on @editingnewsupdates got 50k views; YouTube has 1,640 subscribers | Small |
| Ads, media, X, Reddit | Nothing found | None |
The first point is the key one. Edit accounts' audiences are mostly editors too. Seeing a high-quality edit whose description reads "Upload Method → @editingnews.com," viewers naturally go searching. Every free user who posts a video gives it one more free impression.
Who competes with it: plenty, but none with that line
Searching the Chrome store for "TikTok upload method" extensions turns up almost all from 2026, more than a dozen:
| Name | Launched | Users (Chrome Web Store, early November) | Video count per hashtag (TikTok, 11-06) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Editing Enhancer | 2026-07 (formerly 2025) | 20k | #editingnews 206k videos, 9B views |
| 60FPS Upload Manager | 2025-12 | 10k | Just a tool, with no community or paid funnel |
| WTM TikTok Method | 2026-06 | 7,000 (up 1,000 in a week) | #wtmmethod 2 videos |
| TikQuick | 2026-05 | 6,000 | #tikquick 241 videos |
| CompressBase / Maska | 2026-03 | 4,000 | #maskamethod 686 videos, 10.9M views |
| Kryp FPS Method | 2026-05 | 264 | #kryp 1,356 videos, 23.9M views |
| itzcrih method (web page plus Discord, free) | 2025 | — | #itzcrih 763 videos, 36.9M views |
There's also a long tail like TikoPro, FLOWTIK, Haze Check and Upload120 with a few hundred to a few thousand users, web tools like RTX Fury and Zilem that upload your file to a site for processing, and the open-source version above. In early November, new entries were still appearing on TikTok; for example, a video with 177k views shouted "my upload method 4K 120fps, free forever."
In the Chrome store it has only twice the users of second place; on TikTok it sits two orders of magnitude above every rival. The gap isn't technical, since everyone can do the tech, and when TikTok changes its upload logic, everyone breaks together. (2026-05-13 It posted that "the platform pushed an update and the upload method broke," fixed it within hours, and gave paying users extra days.) The gap is the line in the description, plus the Telegram community.
Three things to take from it
- Free users' work automatically carries your name; paying removes it. This is a variant of the watermark, placed in the description so it doesn't hurt the visuals, and users don't mind much. Any tool whose users publish output on public platforms (editing, graphics, captions, templates) can do the same.
- Grey-area tools that are easy to delist keep the user relationship and payments on Telegram. A bot plus Mini App takes payment in rubles or Stars; the store is just an install point, and when a listing is pulled, people can be brought back within three weeks.
- Give a weekly free quota instead of cutting features. Let people see results first, then charge once they want more.
If it were you
C. Worth learning from, not worth following. The category is packed, the tech has been cloned as open source, and survival depends on one TikTok update or one Chrome store review. Editing Enhancer's lead comes from a 170k-member community and 200k tagged old videos, and newcomers can't get either.
- Who it suits: people already in the edit scene with a few tens of thousands of followers or an active Discord/Telegram group, or people building other creator tools who want to copy the "tag in the work" move.
- Who it doesn't suit: people wanting to build yet another plugin in the TikTok upload-method lane (over a dozen rivals, and even the number-two extension with 10k users is just a tool); people who can't handle being pulled or breaking at any moment; people who want a long-term business.
- How to do it: the most worthwhile move isn't another upload method, but carrying the line-in-the-description play somewhere else. Build a tool whose users publish output to TikTok, Reels or Shorts; the free version automatically adds a short tag and your account name to the description, removed for paid users. Keep the tag short and insider-like, not ad-like. If you must build an upload method, switch platforms or audience, for example the picture-quality problem on Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts (whether anyone already does this, and whether it's achievable, is unverified), or first claim a language community nobody covers yet.
- How to get users: first find 10 to 20 mid-follower edit accounts to use it free, so their videos spread the tag first. Put the community on Telegram or Discord, with payments and updates inside.
- When would this stop working?: The window for these tricks depends on when the platform closes it. The day TikTok changes upload compression so these methods stop working, the whole category goes to zero at once.
- What would show we're reading it wrong?: First, if the #editingnews video count stalls over the next month or two, or a rival tag starts catching up, the line in the description has stopped working or TikTok has started throttling it. Second, if the Chrome store takes it down again and it's back with its users within three weeks, the community is the real asset, and that's what to copy, not the extension. Third, the reverse: if a new upload-method extension without a community passes 10k users in a month or two, the category isn't crowded yet.

Editing Enhancer - Editing News & reLynth: why it took off
Chrome extension gbmnmdggnklmnapaealkjmbaddlcihip, developer Editing News (editingnews.com), 2026-07-15 listed, v2.0.4 (2026-09-19 updates). Research date 2026-11-06.
Bottom line
1. What it is
- A tool for TikTok "edit" accounts (anime, sports stars, film montages, the kind that chases picture quality and high frame rates). It claims to bypass TikTok's transcoding compression and reach 1080p/60fps (the paid version claims 120fps, 4K, 300MB, 2 minutes). The mechanism tampers with the MP4 container, for example by lying about the frame count, without re-encoding the picture. Someone reverse-engineered an open-source version, tiktok-quality, from extension v2.1.4. Its README says it calls the v2.editingnews.com server side (sources: pypi.org/project/tiktok-quality; github.com/BastienGimbert/tiktok-quality, 29 stars, repo created 2026-06-16).
- Permissions: tiktok.com, tiktokcdn.com, byteoversea.com, cookies, declarativeNetRequest, scripting, plus localhost:5035 (companion Windows program) (source: chromestore library item table, scraped 2026-11-07).
- Pricing: Premium at $14.99/month or $24.99/3 for 599 months (Russian store: 1,499₽), only available through the Telegram bot @editingnews_bot, paid via Mini App, "choose your payment method". The free tier gets 3 "zero-compression" uploads per week (source: t.me/s/editing_news, posts 2025-11-01 and 2026-04-23; editingnews.com homepage). One Premium selling point reads "No advertising in descriptions" (source: editingnews.com).
- Sister product reLynth: Telegram bot @reLynthBot with a Mini App for features like downloads and stats. Subscriptions use Telegram Stars, 199★ for 30 days or 449★ for 90 days. The terms say it's sold separately from Editing News subscriptions (source: relynth.com/subscription, 2026-09-30).
- Ecosystem: Editing VPN extension (7,000 users, 2026-04-23 listed), Windows Editing App (RIFE frame interpolation), Editing Media (song promotion tasks on Discord that editors get paid for), a Flowframes asset channel, and a Discord server (3,681 members, search summary).

3. Competitors
The Chrome store has a whole group of "TikTok upload method" extensions, nearly all listed 2026 years ago (chromestore library; the store's "related extensions" are mostly these too):
| Name | Where | Launched | Scale | How it differs from Editing Enhancer |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 60FPS Upload Manager | Chrome | 2025-12-16 | 10k users, 20 ratings | No website, community, or paid funnel; just a tool |
| WTM TikTok Method(wizardftbl.com) | Chrome | 2026-06-17 | 7,000 (11-01 to 11-07, climbing from 6,000) | Local 1000p plus downloads and stats; pricing on the website; little hashtag spread (#wtmmethod 2 videos) |
| TikQuick | Chrome | 2026-05-12 | 6,000 | Works with the TikTok Studio upload helper; 241 videos on the hashtag |
| CompressBase / Maska(maska.fr) | Chrome, Firefox | 2026-03-27 | 4,000 | Positioned as fully free; shortsync points out it shares the same store ID as Maska Method, relisted under a new name |
| TikoPro Uploader(tikosystem.com) | Chrome | 2026-07-29 | 3,000 | Paid services, small scale |
| FLOWTIK 120 FPS | Chrome | 2026-05-16 | 3,000 | Just tools |
| Kryp FPS Method(kryptools.org) | Chrome | 2026-05-02 | 264 | Binary-level patching; some spread on TikTok (#kryp 1,356 videos) |
| Tiktok Quality Method by Luke, Haze Check, Upload120, Void Enhancer, etc. | Chrome | 2026-06 to 09 | Tens of dollars each, up to 1,000 | Long-tail copycats |
| itzcrih method | Web page plus Discord | Since 2025 | Free; 763 posts / 37M views on the hashtag | Free, service went down several times and came back |
| Kuronai Studio | Telegram plus app plus extension | Not verified | Channel with 69.8K subscribers | Now it reposts Editing News posts, with the @editingnews_bot Premium buy button still attached. It looks more like a partner or distribution channel than a rival. |
| RTX Fury, Zilem, Blood Method, Fenn, etc. | Web patcher, TikTok accounts | 2026 | Hashtags with hundreds of thousands to millions of views | Upload files to a website for processing, no extension |
| tiktok-quality (open source) | GitHub, PyPI | 2026-06-16 | 29 star | Reverse-engineers what Editing News does, free, command line |
| TikTok's official "Allow high-quality uploads", the official Content Posting API (scheduling tools like ShortSync) | Big-company features | Has been around all along | — | Official cap is 1080p/60fps; method sellers sell the feeling of "less blurry than the official setting", plus promises of 120fps and 4K |
Verdict: no shortage of competitors. This is a crowded gray-market niche. On Chrome, Editing Enhancer has the most users at 20k, only about double second place (10k). But on TikTok it is two orders of magnitude more visible than any of its peers.
4. How users came in (growth levers)
- Auto-inserted ad in user video descriptions is the core mechanic (confirmed). Searching "editingnews" on TikTok, the first 20 videos almost all end with the same line: "#editingnews ・ Upload Method → @editingnews.com". The accounts posting these are many mid-to-large editing creators: @crock.x 898k followers, @giovanniartes 306k, @crannyjr_utd 300k, @omavfx 205k, @10mov_edits 194k, @madara_t1 152k. Single videos commonly get 200k to 1.1M views (TikHub search, 2026-11-06). The official site lists "No advertising in descriptions" as a Premium perk, which means the free version automatically adds this line. Editors' audiences are editors themselves; when they see great quality plus this tag, they go search for it. The 206k videos under #editingnews amount to 200k free impressions.
- The Telegram community is both the user pool and the cash register (confirmed). The channel was created 2025-01-06. Early versions required following the channel and developer channel, then getting an ID before the extension would activate, a hard funnel into Telegram. Later it switched to automatic registration via a bot. Payments, customer service (an AI support bot), updates, and giveaways (5 months of Premium free, conditional on "install the extension and stay subscribed") all happen in Telegram. The channel grew from 10k to 170k between 2025-10 and 2026-11.
- Partners and distribution channels (confirmed). 2025-06 launched "Editing Partnership", "inviting people who will actively promote our project", and partners get new methods first. Kuronai Studio (69.8K subscribers) reposts Editing News posts with its Premium buy button still attached (t.me/s/kuronai60). Team members also run TikTok accounts posting tutorials, such as @.aersh (bio "Editing News Team") and @editingnewsupdates, whose Android tutorial got 50k views.
- Its own TikTok accounts and tutorials (confirmed, small volume): @editingnews.com has 16k followers; YouTube @editingnews_com has 1,640 subscribers.
- Old-user migration (confirmed): the old listing 2026-06-25 was pulled, and the new listing 2026-07-15 went up. The channel 07-19 posted "New Enhanced Method" with the link editingnews.com/extension?1. Early store reviews cluster between 07-15 and 07-19, which likely means the community was nudged to leave ratings (inferred). So most of the "4 months live, 20k users" came over from the old listing.
- TikTok platform incidents actually helped (inference): when TikTok changed upload logic and broke methods across the board (2026-05-13 post: "Platforms pushed an update that broke the upload method"), it was fixed within hours and paying users were given extra days. In a category where things constantly go down and come back, this became its trust capital.
- Not found: ad campaigns, media coverage, X discussion (x-radar: 90 posts in the last 0 days), Reddit discussion, TrustMRR revenue.
5. Why it took off
- The viral loop is built into the product: every video the free version posts gets an ad in its description, and removing it requires paying. This is what separates it from every competitor (206k hashtag videos versus less than 1,400 for second place).
- It hits a real pain point: the edit community cares intensely about quality and frame rate, and TikTok compression ruins a montage. With the promise of "1080p60 not blurry", users will install first and pay later.
- Telegram handles payment and community: it bypasses the Chrome store and app stores (which don't accept these gray tools and remove them), with flexible payment methods (rubles and Stars both work, and the core users include Russian speakers). When a listing is taken down, changing the ID brings people back.
- Free quota design: 3 free uses per week, "taste blood", and once it blows up and feels insufficient, users upgrade (this is the pitch wording from its original post).
- Built as an ecosystem to look like a legitimate team: VPN (for regional restrictions and rate limits), a Windows frame-interpolation program, clipping jobs that pay, an asset library, AI customer service. Messaging constantly stresses "big team, over a year, not going anywhere", playing the trust card in a category full of scammers.
6. Differentiation
There is no technical differentiation: the container-level hack has already been reproduced in open source (tiktok-quality), and Maska, Kryp, and itzcrih are doing the same thing. When TikTok changes its logic, everyone breaks together. Its real differentiation is in distribution structure: free users advertise for it (the tag in descriptions), plus the Telegram community and payments, plus the partner channels for distribution. That is why it broke out.
7. Visibility
It's spreading in small circles, and the circle is large: almost everyone in the TikTok editing scene knows it (9B views on the hashtag, a Telegram with 170k people), but almost no one outside has written about it. No tech media coverage, no big accounts discussing it on X, revenue not disclosed. The only write-up is an SEO article from ShortSync (2026-11) that catalogs methods, and it hasn't listed this one yet. Copycats were there long ago, and there are many (see the competitor table).
8. What others can borrow
- "The free version automatically adds a brand tag to user-generated content, removed by paying": a variant of the Canva and CapCut watermark, placed in descriptions or hashtags on UGC platforms, so every piece of content advertises for you to the target audience.
- Gray-area, easily removed tools keep user relationships and payments in Telegram bots plus Mini Apps (Stars subscriptions, multiple currencies), with app stores serving only as an install entry point.
- Free quotas by week instead of cutting features: let users see the "it works" result first, then charge.
- Fast fixes when platforms change rules, plus extra days for paying users, turning the incident into marketing material.
9. Still unclear
- Paid user count and revenue are completely unknown. It's unclear how many of the 170k Telegram subscribers came from giveaways and partner channels.
- Whether every free user's description is forcibly tagged, or only some add it voluntarily: the official perk wording and the uniform format across 200k videos are supporting evidence, but I haven't tested it by installing the extension.
- Whether the relationship with Kuronai is distribution partnership, white-labeling, or a former feud that later reconciled hasn't been verified (the recall card said "mutually accusing each other of copying", but I couldn't find the original post this time).
- Whether the new listing will get taken down again (it has heavy permissions, a built-in proxy plus cookies, and the old listing was already taken down once).
- Whether the "120fps, 4K, zero compression" claims hold up: TikTok's documented cap is 60fps, and third-party ShortSync thinks such promises should be discounted.
