Slot 13 in a $3 bundle: Qwen Automation and the Vietnamese developer's "batch button" matrix
What it is A Chrome extension that queues up hundreds of prompts on the Qwen web app at once, auto-generates videos and images, and auto-downloads them, saved in order by number.
Why it took off After Grok's free video tightened in the first half of 2026, faceless long-video makers moved to the free Qwen. The same author had already taken the same extension to 100k users each on Flow and Grok; copying it to Qwen costs almost nothing, and it cross-promotes with his other extensions in the store.
CHow you could follow Don't copy the Qwen version, copy the approach: build a batch-automation template, watch for platforms that have just launched, are free on the web, but only produce one item at a time, and that he hasn't covered yet. List it in the first week or two, and acquire users through store search and small YouTubers who teach making videos for free.
6,000 users · rating 5.0 (86)
A Vietnamese developer built the one button of "queue prompts, auto-generate videos, auto-download" into 13 AI generation platforms, with 100k users each on Google Flow and Grok. The Qwen one has only 6,000 users, but it shows the approach most clearly: wherever a platform is free and only produces one item at a time, someone wants a batch button. Below: how it came about, who the users are, how the money comes in, and whether you should follow the single product or the approach.
a 972-view video
On 2026 Sep 5, a YouTube channel called Lassine AI posted a video titled "Higgsfield AI is DEAD 😱 Use This FREE Auto Qwen". The first line of the description reads: "Make AI long videos for free in one click. No more pasting 120 prompts one by one."
The video shows a "$0 end-to-end" pipeline: have Claude write the storyboard, Qwen3-TTS for voiceover, then a Chrome extension called Qwen Automation that queues the prompts for 120 shots of 5 seconds each into chat.qwen.ai in one go, submits them one by one, auto-downloads each result and files it into a folder by number, and finally joins them in CapCut. The description links the extension's store page and also the creator's own paid "full skill pack + storyboard script".
By early November this video had only 972 views (YouTube, 11-06). But it shows who the extension's users are: people making faceless long videos. One video needs over a hundred shots; pasting them one by one takes two evenings, and Qwen's web app generates video for free. All that's missing is a batch button.
What it is
Qwen Automation's full name in the Chrome Web Store is "Qwen Automation - Auto Qwen on Qwen.ai"; it was listed in 2026-06-10 and updated to 10-15 1.1.4. What it does:
- Queues dozens or hundreds of prompts, with direct import from .txt / .xlsx / .csv;
- Auto-submits, waits for generation, auto-downloads, sorted into folders by number;
- Text-to-video, image-to-video, text-to-image, plus "Concat" for continuous shots, first-frame-to-video, and "Ingredients to Video";
- Adds random delays between items to avoid platform rate limits.
The store numbers for 11-06: 6,000 users, 5.0 rating, 86 reviews. From Nov 1 to 6 daily users stayed at 6,000, and review count only rose from 85 to 86. It is not growing now.
Why Qwen, why June
The timing is neat. Grok Imagine put video behind the SuperGrok paywall starting in March 2026, then in June switched to a weekly usage pool, and r/grok on Reddit was full of "free users are gone". On Facebook someone wrote outright: "Grok is charging now, make videos with Qwen Chat instead." The Qwen Chat web app has offered free video generation since 2025 (the Wan series), and YouTube tutorials along the lines of "Qwen free unlimited video, no watermark" have kept getting views. Malva AI's September 4 video "Qwen 3.8: FREE & UNLIMITED AI Video Generator" has 104k views.
Qwen Automation was listed in June 10, right after Grok's free video tightened. What it does is simple: turn "free, but one at a time" into "free, and in batches".
The real product is the portfolio
Looking only at the Qwen product would give the wrong picture. The developer is Nguyễn Xuân Trường (Truong Nguyen, online as trgkyle), website kylenguyen.me. He has copied the same "queue + auto-submit + auto-download" code to these platforms in turn (Chrome Web Store, 11-06):
| Extension | users | Launched |
|---|---|---|
| Flow Automation(Google Flow / Veo) | 100,000 | 2025-11 |
| Grok Automation | 100,000 | 2026-01 |
| Meta Automation(meta.ai) | 70,000 | 2026-02 |
| Vibes Automation(Meta Vibes) | 50,000 (11-06, just crossed from 40k) | 2026-07 |
| ChatGPT Automation | 20,000 | 2026-03 |
| Gemini / Veo / Whisk Automation | Each 10,000 | 2025-12 to 2026-06 |
| Vids Automation | 9,000 | 2026-06 |
| Seedance Automation (Jimeng / Dreamina) | 8,000 | 2026-04 |
| Qwen Automation | 6,000 | 2026-06 |
| Dola / Canva / Muse | 4,000 / 3,000 / 2,000 | 2026-07 to 09 |
The 11 extensions whose details are visible add up to 393k users. The pattern is straightforward: whichever generation platform gets hot, within a month or two there is another "X Automation - Auto X on X.com". The titles stuff the platform name in twice, capturing searches for "auto + platform name"; search "Qwen Automation chrome extension" or "auto qwen batch prompts" and it ranks first.
The matrix also feeds itself traffic. Among the 12 "related extensions" on the Qwen Automation store page, 9 are his own (Seedance, Canva, Meta, Vibes, Dola, Vids, ChatGPT, Muse, Gemini, on the Chrome Web Store, 11-06). The 100k people who installed it for Grok are the first ones he reaches when they switch platforms.
For him, the Qwen version cost almost nothing: same features as his sibling extension, just swap the selectors and ship. 6,000 Users aren't exploding, but it added one more "we support Qwen too" to the whole subscription bundle.
Where the money comes from
Payment isn't in the store; it's on the website. kylenguyen.me/pricing (updated October) says: one subscription unlocks every extension, $3 for one month, $7 for three, $25 for a year, no auto-renewal, with Discord access and "priority bug fixes." The author writes on the page:
These extensions were 100% free. Charging for them means more features, fewer bugs, a better experience… If the experience isn't good, I'll refund you.
So this bundle is in the first stage of shifting from free to paid. $3 a month with no auto-renewal is about the lowest possible paywall. People who use Qwen usually also run Grok, Flow, and Meta, so one subscription is worth more the more it covers. Paid subscriber count and revenue aren't public, and I haven't verified whether the Qwen version already requires a subscription.
The reviews look a little too neat
86 ratings from 6,000 users, about 1.4% five-star; the three big extensions (Flow, Grok, Meta) all sit at 0.2%–0.26%. Reading the reviews: from Sep 16 to 25 a batch of one-liner English five-star reviews shows up, like "Everything just works" (9-16), "Everything has been smooth so far" (9-16), "Good tool for handling lots of Qwen generations" (9-24), mixed in with Vietnamese names such as Mộng Thủy Lưu, Hải Giáp, Hai nam. In the same period his Seedance, Dola and Canva also all got perfect 5.0 scores. It looks like new extensions get their ratings pumped by friends or alt accounts right after launch, to rank higher in the store (inferred). The trick works, but it risks store penalties.
Who it's competing with
Almost no one is in the Qwen slot:
| Competitors | Scale (Chrome Web Store, 11-06) | How it differs |
|---|---|---|
| AutoQwen(autojourney.ai) | 730 users, 5 ratings | Launched 5 months earlier (2026-01), but only batch-downloads images, not videos. The same publisher also has AutoGrok (5,000 users), a smaller version of the same play. |
| ADBE Automation - Auto Qwen | Delisted | Its description is nearly copied from this one. |
| Qwen / Qianwen sidebar extensions | 1,000–5,000 | Just a chat sidebar with no batch generation. |
| Qwen Chat official | — | Free video generation, but no queue or batch download, and free quotas are being tightened. |
| Alibaba Cloud Wan API and similar | — | Pay-as-you-go and requires code; aimed at developers. |
The real competition isn't inside Qwen. It's the "AI video batch automation" category. Google Flow already has over a hundred similar automation extensions, and another multi-platform matrix, autoplaylabs, does Meta Vibes. The category is crowded; Qwen is just the small platform nobody has gotten to yet.
Discussion of it on X, TikTok, and in the media is 0. His own YouTube channel has 3,200 subscribers, and his Qwen tutorial (10-10) has only 370 views. Few people know about it. But it holds the Qwen slot without relying on fame. It got there early, with the right title, and with the matrix behind it.
The risk is in the platform's hands
The life of an extension like this is controlled by the platform. Three things could break it at any time:
- Free quotas tighten. YouTube and Reddit posts already say Qwen's free tier moved to daily credits (one claim is 40 credits a day, with at least 25 per video), and an Upgrade button has appeared on the page. The timing and scope are unverified. If you can only generate one or two videos free a day, the batch button is useless.
- A page change breaks it. The extension works by simulating clicks on the website. Whenever the platform changes a button, it has to be fixed. "Priority bug fixes" is listed as a paid benefit for a reason.
- The platform doesn't welcome it. Batch-using free quota is exactly what platforms want to block.
6,000 users and no growth for a week also shows the ceiling for this slot is low.
If it were you
Grade C: don't copy this product. Study the playbook instead. The Qwen slot is already held by someone with a matrix of 390k users. Users aren't growing, the price is only $3/month, and Qwen could shut it down by tightening free quotas. Building another Qwen batch extension gets you the leftovers.
Who it suits: one or two people who can write Chrome extensions, move fast, and are willing to watch every AI generation platform's updates every day. Ideally they already make AI video content and know where creators get stuck.
Who it doesn't suit: anyone who wants a product that earns steady money long term. These extensions live or die on someone else's free quota and page structure. Also anyone unwilling to work in the gray zone of "batch-using platform free quotas."
How to build it: don't copy the Qwen version. Copy his workflow. Turn "queue + import spreadsheet + auto-submit + auto-download + name by sequence number" into a reusable template. Target generation platforms that just launched, offer free web generation, allow only one video at a time, and that he doesn't cover yet: new video platforms in China, Japan, and Korea, or newly opened web entry points from big vendors. Ship in the first one to two weeks after the platform takes off. Name it along the lines of "X Automation - Auto X on X.com" to capture the platform name in search. Or pick another audience, like creators who make Chinese short dramas or children's animation, and chain storyboarding, voiceover, and batch image generation into one pipeline instead of a single button.
How to get users: searching the Chrome Web Store is the main channel, and your title and first description line are your ad. Then partner with small and mid-size YouTubers who teach "free long AI videos," like Lassine AI does. They already need a tool to link in their descriptions. The more extensions you own, the more of the store's related slots you'll fill yourself.
When to move: the window follows the platform, not the calendar. If a new platform launches free video and no one has built a batch extension for it within two weeks, that's an open slot. Once he gets there, the slot is gone.
What would show you're wrong: ① the Qwen version starts growing again without a major update and passes 20k users, which would mean Qwen free-video demand is bigger than it looks and the single product is worth building; ② conversely, his Grok and Flow extensions, both at 100k users, drop in rank or get delisted within three months, which would mean platforms are starting to block this kind of tool and the playbook is closing; ③ the website switches to per-extension sales or raises prices sharply, which would mean the $3 bundle can't sustain itself and the matrix pays less than it appears.

One branch of a "batch automation" extension matrix built by Vietnamese indie developer Nguyễn Xuân Trường (Truong Nguyen; GitHub and YouTube @trgkyle; website kylenguyen.me). 1. Why it took off
Demand: Qwen Chat is a "free, no-watermark" video generation entry point, while competitors charge one by one
- Since 2025, Qwen Chat has offered free video generation in the web app (Wan series), and YouTube has long carried tutorials like "Qwen AI Free Unlimited Video Generator, No Watermark" (NiDat AI 2025-08,1,955 views; Real World Devs 2026-04,1,619 views; Malva AI 2026-09-04 "Qwen 3.8: FREE & UNLIMITED AI Video Generator" 103,738 views).
- Free video alternatives are tightening up too: Grok Imagine moved video behind the SuperGrok paywall from 2026-03, then 2026-06 switched it to a weekly usage pool (reddit r/grok, alloypress "Grok Imagine is Dead for Free Users (Jun 2026)", aiveed.io). On Facebook someone wrote outright: "Grok is charging now, so use Qwen Chat for video." Qwen Automation 2026-06-10 launched right after Grok's free video died.
- Who the user is: people making faceless long-form videos, where one video needs 100 or more 5-second shots, and manually pasting prompts shot by shot takes two evenings. Third-party YouTuber Lassine AI's video "Higgsfield AI is DEAD 😱 Use This FREE Auto Qwen" (2026-09-05) covers exactly this workflow: Claude writes the storyboard → Qwen3-TTS voiceover → Qwen Automation batch-generates and downloads 120+ shots → CapCut assembly. "Total cost: $0." The description links straight to this extension's store page (972 views).
Supply: the same codebase reused for the 13th time, marginal cost near zero
- The author first took Google Flow (2025-11) and Grok (2026-01) each to 100k users, then cloned one for every hot generation platform that followed (Meta, ChatGPT, Seedance, Gemini, Vids, Qwen, Vibes, Canva, Dola, Muse). The Qwen version is the smaller branch; its features (queue, .txt/.xlsx/.csv import, random delays to avoid rate limits, Concat for continuous shots, Frame to Video, Ingredients to Video, download by sequence number) are structurally identical to its sister extensions (Qwen tutorial description, 2026-10-10).
- So "breaking out" here means: reaching 6,000 users and a perfect rating on a small platform at zero marginal cost, adding one more reason for the whole subscription, not a single-product explosion.
Why people stay and pay
- Why keep it: Qwen itself is free, and the extension turns "free but one at a time" into "free and batched," which directly saves time for faceless channels.
- Why pay: the money isn't collected per extension. It's $3/month to unlock all 13+ extensions. People using Qwen often also run Grok / Flow / Meta, and the subscription's value comes from the matrix. This store listing doesn't tick in-app purchases; whether the Qwen extension gates payment inside the extension is unverified.
2. Competitors
| Name | Where | Launched | Scale | How it differs |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AutoQwen - Auto send Qwen prompts and download images(autojourney.ai) | Chrome | 2026-01-07 | 730 users, 5 ratings | 5 months earlier, but it only downloads images, no video. The same company also has matrices like AutoGrok 5,000, AutoLovart, and Autogram, which are smaller versions of the same play. |
| ADBE Automation - Auto Qwen | Chrome | Not verified | Unverified; the store page now shows "Item not available." | The description nearly copies Qwen Automation's text ("automates your workflow on chat.qwen.ai"). Delisted. |
| Qwen / Qianwen Sidebar / Qwen Assistant and other sidebar extensions | Chrome | From ¥2025-02 | 1,000–5,000 | All are chat sidebars with no batch generation or download. |
| Meta x Vibes Automator and other autoplaylabs series | Chrome | From ¥2026-03 | 5,000 | Another multi-platform matrix developer, no Qwen version. |
| Qwen Chat official | Big-company features | — | — | No prompt queue or batch download. Free quotas are also being tightened (YouTube / Reddit posts say the free tier moved to daily credits and an Upgrade button appeared; timing unverified). |
| Alibaba Cloud Model Studio / Wan API, Atlas Cloud, etc. | Other | From ¥2025 | — | Pay-as-you-go APIs aimed at developers. The extension targets creators who don't write code and want to use web quota for free. |
Verdict: batch generation in the Qwen web app is almost unclaimed. It's the only extension here with over a thousand users and the only one doing video. The competition isn't inside Qwen but in "same-type extensions on other platforms." Users switch between Grok / Flow / Meta, and the author has one on each.
3. Growth tactics (evidence)
- Chrome Store search + title keywords: the title "Qwen Automation - Auto Qwen on Qwen.ai" packs in both "Auto Qwen" and "Qwen." Jina searches for "Qwen Automation chrome extension" and "auto qwen batch prompts" both rank it first. (Confirmed)
- Cross-promotion within the matrix (store related slots): of its 12 "related extensions," 9 are the author's own (Seedance, Canva, Meta, Vibes, Dola, Vids, ChatGPT, Muse, Gemini), and 3 more are similar tools like AutoQwen (chromestore related). The official homepage lists all extensions as one shelf. Users who installed the Grok / Flow versions (100k users) are easily led to the new platform version. (Confirmed)
- Third-party YouTuber tutorials: Lassine AI (2026-09-05,972 views) links to the store. No major-creator endorsements found. (Confirmed, but small)
- Own YouTube: channel has 3,200 subscribers; early Vietnamese Veo / Grok tutorials with 43k and 31k views drove the matrix, but Qwen tutorials only got 370 views and contributed almost nothing to this branch. (Confirmed)
- Reviews are probably incentivized (unverified): rating count / users = 86 / 6,000 ≈ 1.4%, versus 0.24% for the Flow sibling, 0.26% for Grok, and 0.19% for Meta. In the reviews, a batch of generic one- or two-line English praise ("Everything just works," "Everything has been smooth so far") appeared in a concentrated burst on September 16–25, mixed with Vietnamese names (Hải Giáp, Mộng Thủy Lưu, Hai nam). The author is Vietnamese. Seedance, Dola, and Canva also had 5.0 five-star ratings in the same period. This looks like friends or alt accounts rating to push the new extension up the store.
- The Vietnamese extension directory extension.vn lists it (Jina search result), possibly the author's or a Vietnamese community's SEO. (Listing confirmed, source unknown)
- X / TikTok / Reddit / media: x-radar search for "qwen automation", "kylenguyen", and "trgkyle" found 0 related posts in the last 180 days; TikHub returned nothing; no media coverage. No evidence of ads.
4. Differentiation
- Versus AutoQwen: can do video (text-to-video, first-frame-to-video, Ingredients, Concat for continuous shots), supports xlsx/csv import and downloads sorted into folders by sequence number. Ratings 5.0 / 86 vs 4.4 / 5.
- Versus same-type extensions on other platforms: same person, same UI, one subscription covering 13+ platforms. When one platform changes pricing or limits, users move to the next without relearning.
- Is this why it broke out? For the Qwen branch alone, "almost no competitors + riding Qwen's free video" matters more than feature differences. 6,000 users, with no growth in early November, shows the demand ceiling isn't high. The real differentiation is the matrix + one bundled subscription, which is why the whole product broke out. The Qwen version is one low-cost slot in it.
5. Visibility
Few people know about it yet: the Qwen version appears only among small YouTubers and in store search. X, TikTok, and media show 0 buzz. Revenue isn't public (not found on TrustMRR etc.), only the website pricing is. The overall matrix is known in the "AI video batch automation" niche (100k users each on Flow and Grok), and that niche is already crowded (Erasio and ViralDNA reports list 100+ Flow automation tools).
6. Takeaways
- One template of queue + auto-submit + auto-download, cloned for whichever generation platform gets hot, with titles standardized as "X Automation - Auto X on X.com" to capture each platform's name in search. The store's related slots fill up with its own matrix, cross-promoting each other.
- Target generation platforms that are "free but one at a time" (Qwen, Meta Vibes, Dola, Jimeng): when competitors charge, a batch tool for the free platform has room.
- Sell subscriptions by the matrix, price low at $3/month, no auto-renew: lowers the psychological barrier to paying, and the more a user runs across platforms, the more it's worth.
- New extensions can use friends' reviews during launch to push ratings to 5.0 (risk of store penalties).
7. Uncertain
- Whether the Qwen version already requires a subscription inside the extension: the store doesn't tick in-app purchases, and the website says all extensions move to paid. Not tested.
- Paying users and revenue: no public data at all.
- User growth curve: our daily records cover only 7 days (all 6,000); the historical curves from chrome-stats / extops weren't retrieved this time, so which month growth peaked after launch is unknown.
- How far Qwen's free video quota has actually been tightened (a YouTube video says "40 credits a day, at least 25 per video"; Reddit says an Upgrade button appeared); timing and scope unverified. If Qwen's free quota drops to only 1–2 videos a day, the batch extension's value falls sharply.
- Whether the reviews are incentivized / alt accounts: only pattern evidence, no direct evidence.
- When and why ADBE Automation was delisted: unverified.
