# One person running ten trading accounts can't click them all by hand: Better Vest uses a free plugin to take on copy trading for a newly rising prop firm

**What it is** A free Chrome extension that sits on the Vest Markets web trading page. One account places orders, and up to ten other accounts automatically copy them. It also includes one-click stop loss and take profit, a daily loss lock, multi-chart views, and a trade calendar.

**Why it took off** Vest raised $13M in October, and traders kept posting withdrawals on X. Its rules let people run batches of cheap exam accounts, and it doesn't offer an API. A developer who traded on Vest every day built the first free copy tool that lives inside the page and has the most features. It spread first on GitHub, then through the store.

**B** **How you could follow it** Don't build another one for Vest. Watch for the next trading platform that just raised money, has withdrawals flooding feeds, allows multiple accounts, and has official tools that can't keep up. Build a free enhancement plugin on its web page, earn money through the platform's referral program, keep the code open and permissions minimal, and give the plugin to referral-code tutorial sites to spread it.

Grade B: the play of "build a free plugin for a rising platform and earn through referral codes" is little known and can win copy-trading users. But Vest's spot is already taken, the ceiling is around 20,000 to 30,000 traders, income is not visible, and everything depends on the host platform's terms and survival. Circulating in a small circle

Better Vest is a free Chrome extension for the web trading page of Vest Markets, a prop firm trading crypto perpetual contracts. Its core is "one account places orders, and up to ten others copy them." It rode the funding and withdrawal wave Vest saw in October 2026, and three weeks after store listing it had 331 users. It charges nothing; the money comes back through Vest's referral codes. This piece covers how it took off and whether the approach can be moved to other platforms.

### "Group one put in 20k, group two 17k, and this is group three."

On Oct 6, 2026, a trader called Lanto (@lanto_trades) posted on X: "Total spend: $13k. First group put in $20k, second group $17k, and this is the third group." Four days earlier he had posted "Withdrew +$20,000 through Vest Markets, figured I'd ride the wave too."

"Group" refers to a batch of accounts. Vest Markets is a prop firm founded in October 2025: you buy exam accounts, trade crypto perpetual contracts with the firm's money, and if you pass you can withdraw and split profits. Its rules made "groups" the standard play: one login can run up to 10 withdrawal accounts and 100 exam accounts at once (Vest prop terms, 10-28 version), and the $5K two-step exam costs only $15 (SniperFlow blog, 10-11). So traders buy batches of cheap exams and run the same moves across several accounts at once.

The same week, in October 7, Fortune exclusively reported that Vest raised $13M led by Portal Ventures. On YouTube someone made a video asking "Vest withdrew $17M in 30 days, where did the money come from?"

The problem: placing the same trade by hand ten times across ten accounts is unbearable.

### It's exactly that "one click, ten times" fix.

Better Vest's author is Astral (X handle @ax4pa). The official site opens with "I built the tool I wanted on Vest," and the security note reads "I trade NQ on Vest every day. It started as something I built for my own screen." He published the first version on GitHub on Oct 4.

Once installed, a new layer appears on top of Vest's native trading page:

| Features | What it does |
|---|---|
| Copy trading | One account can link up to ten accounts, copying by ratio or by account size. You can run multiple groups, each with a leader account. The default Flash mode fires all copies at the same moment. |
| One-click orders | Long or short with stop-loss and take-profit, with position size calculated from "how many dollars you're willing to lose." One-click close, close half, or reverse. |
| Orders on the chart | Click on the chart to place a stop, limit, or price alert. Trailing stops and auto breakeven. |
| Limits and lockouts | Daily loss cap, daily profit cap, and a cooling-off period after consecutive losses. Hitting one locks you out of opening new positions. |
| Multi-chart, calendar, P&L cards | Up to four charts. An auto-generated trading calendar. Turn the day's trades into a GIF replay you can post on X. |

### How it took off

**Launched on GitHub first, then the store.** For the first week or so, users downloaded the zip from GitHub and loaded it into Chrome manually. The most-downloaded releases cluster between Oct 6 and 12, right when Vest's funding news and withdrawal wave were hottest. After the Chrome Web Store listing went up on Oct 13, GitHub downloads for each new release dropped to single digits or the twenties, as users switched to automatic updates from the store.

**The author announces releases on X himself.** On Oct 7 he posted a demo video: "Better Vest 8.2 is out, a free Chrome extension for Vest." It listed "one menu for all accounts, one-click withdrawals across accounts, grouped copy trading." The replies came from people actually using it: "New version is great, but the logout button is gone," "Just installed it today, layout's nice, but the SL/TP labels sit too close to price, could you move them," "Does it work on Brave?"

**The name says it all: Vest.** Searching the store for Vest turns up almost only this extension for Vest. The other one, an indicator for Vest that launched in Nov 3, has 0 users.

**Referral-code sites wrote its tutorials.** On Oct 29, a traditional-Chinese trading site (homedadpro, "full-time dad") published "Vest Markets Copy Trading Tutorial: Installing Better Vest and Setting Up Leader and Follower Accounts," walking through how to set up one leader account with nine followers. The site also promotes Vest's referral code, and its article asks readers to enter its code at checkout.

I found no sign of paid ads or influencer deals.

### Everyone else charges monthly. Why is this free?

Several competitors targeting "Vest copy trading" at the same time almost all charge money:

| Competitors | Form | Pricing | How it differs from Better Vest |
|---|---|---|---|
| PTR-Tracker(SniperFlow) | Chrome Extension | $19.99/month, requires a license | Focused on the calendar and stats, with copy trading as an add-on. Its features are mostly a subset of Better Vest's. |
| Tradesyncer | Cloud copier | Subscription. 10-14 announced Vest support, and you have to request access through Discord. | Runs on a server, requires authorization |
| Trade Dispensary | Cloud copier | Subscription | Copies from NinjaTrader, MT5, and TradingView to Vest, but requires handing over login credentials |
| Tradecopia | Desktop client | $34.99–49.99/mo | Originally a futures copier that added Vest support |
| Tradara | Desktop trading terminal | Paid | A unified terminal for several prop firms |
| STRATUH | Free copy tool | Free | A YouTube introduction with 1,434 views. Format and usage not verified. |

Better Vest wins on three points. First, it's free, and copy trading is included in the free version. Second, it lives inside Vest's own page and places orders from the tab you're already logged into, so you don't hand your account to someone else's server. Vest doesn't offer an API during its evaluation and funded stages, so traditional futures copiers can't connect, which makes a browser extension the most natural form. Third, the author shipped 37 versions in a single month, and the feature set is larger than that of the paid competitors.

The money comes from referrals. Vest has an official referral program, where someone who buys an account with your code earns you a commission (there's a dedicated section in the prop firm terms). When a user buys a Vest account, Better Vest first asks whether they want to use the author's code, WICK, and only replaces the existing code if WICK's discount is at least as good. You can also set it to fill empty code fields with WICK automatically. It also has a donation wallet address. In a community where everyone shares discount codes (RAKE, SNIPERS, HDP...), this is the path with the least friction. How much WICK earns per order, and in total, isn't visible from outside.

Because it touches other people's trading accounts, the author put a lot of effort into making people willing to install it. The code is unminified and readable. Every version ships with a VirusTotal scan report. Updates require verification of the author's signature. A remote kill switch lets him disable a specific feature if a Vest update breaks it. It requests only three basic permissions and runs only on Vest's trading page. There's also a separate build with no usage analytics.

### Does Vest allow it?

This is the first thing a would-be follower needs to figure out. The plugin README says "Vest's terms don't mention browser extensions or copy trading." It links to Vest's general terms, which indeed don't mention them. But Vest's proprietary trading terms (updated Oct 28), section 9, specifically address third-party tools. They list "software, bots, scripts, browser extensions, APIs, copy-trading tools" by name, state that these are unrelated to Vest and not endorsed by Vest, and say that if you run into problems with them, including account suspension, wrong orders, or lost payouts, Vest takes no responsibility and won't help recover anything.

In short: nothing is banned, but all the risk falls on the user, and Vest can change the terms at any time. The third-party review site propfirmmatch says the same thing: "Copy trading is allowed, including through third-party tools, but Vest does not endorse them." Better Vest's Flash mode borrows the logged-in session to send orders to Vest's order service, so if Vest ever tightens its rules, this part will be the first to break.

The other risk lies with Vest itself. On Oct 27, a prop-firm review site published "Is Vest really an A-book? Growing questions about Vest Markets." If the host runs into trouble, this extension goes to zero with it. Another possibility: in Oct 21, Vest previewed that "Vest Capital has something bigger coming," without details. If the official platform ships built-in copy trading, the core value of plugins like this disappears.

### If it were you

**B: This playbook is worth trying, but don't go head-to-head with it on Vest.** On Vest, the free, in-page, most complete position is already taken, and the remaining competitors charge money. Vest's own traders number roughly 27k (per Vest's own figures), so the ceiling is low, and everything depends on the platform's goodwill. What's worth following is the formula: find a platform that's breaking out, where the official tools lag and which pays referral commissions, build a free enhancement extension for its web app, and earn through the platform's own referral code. Few people know this playbook yet. It has 331 users and 23 stars, and no media coverage.

**Who it suits:** Developers who already trade daily on a prop firm, exchange, or prediction market and know which step is most annoying; people who can ship a release every day alone and answer users directly on Discord and X.

**Who it doesn't suit:** People who don't trade (you won't know what traders want); people who want a stable business (income depends on the host platform's survival and its terms); people who want to build yet another copy-trading plugin for Vest.

**How to do it:** Watch for new platforms that have just raised money, have withdrawal screenshots flooding X, allow multiple accounts, but offer no official API or only very basic tools. Crypto perpetual prop firms, new futures prop firms, and new exchanges all qualify. Start by solving the most painful problem (synchronized multi-account orders are the classic example), and build it as an extension for the web app rather than yet another terminal. Keep it free, join the platform's referral program, make the code public, sign your updates, and request the fewest possible permissions, so the "will it steal my account?" worry is gone up front. You can also target what Better Vest doesn't cover: traders who don't read English (Chinese, Spanish, and Portuguese-speaking communities are all pushing platforms like Vest), and mobile.

**How to get users:** Follow its path. Put the installer on GitHub first, post release announcements with demo videos on X yourself, and reply to people under the platform's Discord and under traders' withdrawal posts. List on the Chrome Web Store within a week, with the platform's name in the title and description. Send the extension to tutorial sites and bloggers who publish referral codes: they need content and you need exposure, and your code can coexist with theirs.

**When to move:** The window follows the host platform's buzz. Vest's peak was in October, so following it now is already late. The window is the first week or two after the next platform gets funding news and withdrawal screenshots flooding feeds. Once the official platform adds the tooling itself, it's no longer worth doing.

**Signs you've read this wrong:** ① If Better Vest passes 3,000 users by year-end, or the author publicly discloses referral income, this path is worth more than described here. ② If Vest bans third-party copy tools, or the official platform launches its own copy trading, these "parasitic plugins" have shorter lifespans than they seem, and you'll need to account for that cut when building on another platform. ③ If Vest runs into trouble over A-book concerns or similar and withdrawals stall, the whole category of opportunities disappears with it.

### One line

An enhancement layer for the web trading page of Vest Markets (Vest Capital, next.vestmarkets.com), a company that runs proprietary trading on crypto perpetual futures: one-to-many copy trading, one-click orders with stop-loss and take-profit, orders placed on the chart, an intraday loss lock, up to four charts, a P&L card, and a trading calendar. Completely free, earning through the Vest referral code WICK commission, plus tips to an EVM address.

### 1. Why it took off

#### 1.1 host platform broke out in the past two months (timing)

- Vest Markets was founded in 2025 October (propfirmmatch), 2026-10-07 Fortune exclusively reported that Portal Ventures led a 13M-dollar round (Business Insider and Finance Magnates followed up). A YouTube video discusses "Vest 30 days, 17M dollars paid out," and a Reddit r/PropFirmTester thread says it's been "constantly mentioned on X and YouTube."

- Traders on X are showing payouts: @lanto_trades posted "+$20,000 via vest markets. Thought I'd join the trend" (2026-10-02), and 10-06 posted +$130,000 (5,243 views). This "Vest payout wave" lined up with Better Vest's launch (the first GitHub release, v7.3.0, was on 2026-10-04).

#### 1.2 Vest's rules make copy trading a must-have

- One login can hold up to 10 live payout accounts, with a cap of 100 evaluation accounts; a 2-step $5K evaluation costs only $15 (SniperFlow blog 2026-10-11; homedadpro 2026-10-29). The natural play becomes "buy lots of cheap evaluations and run one setup across several accounts at once," and clicking five accounts by hand is the pain point.

- Traditional futures copiers (Tradovate / Rithmic / NinjaTrader family) can't reach Vest's perpetuals in the browser; Vest offers no API during evaluation and payout stages (homedadpro cites Vest docs; propfirmmatch: "API trading isn't available"). A browser extension that runs on the page and places orders using the logged-in session is the most practical form.

- Vest allows third-party copy trading and automation tools, but doesn't endorse them (propfirmmatch: "Copy Trading Allowed, including through third-party tools, which Vest doesn't endorse").

#### 1.3 is free, and the competitors all charge

- Paid rivals at the same time: SniperFlow's PTR-Tracker extension is $19.99 a month, Tradecopia is $34.99–49.99 a month, and Tradesyncer, Tradara, and Trade Dispensary are all subscriptions. The Better Vest site says "No subscription, no trial, no account," and copy trading is in the free version.

- The money comes back through referral codes: when a user buys a Vest evaluation, the extension first asks whether to use WICK, and only keeps it if the discount is no smaller than the code the user already has; auto-fill can also be turned on in settings (README "Support" section). Referral codes are everywhere in the Vest ecosystem (RAKE, PAVT, SNIPERS, SCREMBO, PROPFT, and more), and that's how the whole circle makes money.

#### 1.4 product iterates very fast, and the author is a user too

- On GitHub, from 2026-10-04 to 11-06 there are 37 releases in total (v7.3.0 to v9.6.0), averaging more than one a day over 33 days; the repo's last 100 commits all fall in this period. The README says "The trading tools I wanted on Vest," and SECURITY.md says "I trade NQ on Vest every day and built this for my own screen first."

- Heavy and detailed: copy trading has Light / Turbo / Flash modes, plus multiple groups, proportional or account-size-based following, and cross-group reverse protection; there's also per-trade risk sizing, FLAT/50%/REV, trailing stops, automatic breakeven, a daily loss lock, a tilt guard, voice alerts, P&L GIF replay, four charts, and more. The feature set of rival PTR-Tracker is basically a subset of this one (calendar, copying, Scalper, payouts).

- Trust design: code is unminified and readable, open source; a VirusTotal report; signed updates; a "safety switch" can remotely pause a given feature; permissions are limited to storage / alarms / tabGroups, running only on next.vestmarkets.com; and a separate nostats build ships without analytics. Since the extension has to access the user's trading session, these choices are meant to dispel the "plugin steals accounts" worry.

#### 1.5 retention

- People who trade on Vest every day open it every day, and once copy trading is set up it's hard to give up. The store has 2 reviews, all 5 stars; the replies under the author's X posts are asking for features ("the log out button is gone", "can the stop-loss/take-profit tab be moved?", "does it work on Brave?"), which suggests people really use it.

### 2. Where users come from (growth tactics)

| Channel | Evidence | Confirmed? |
|---|---|---|
| Author X account @ax4pa release videos | 2026-10-07 posted "Better Vest 8.2 is out, the free Chrome extension for Vest," with a GitHub link; the pinned post is a feature video, and @VestExchange shows up in the author's timeline (the author retweeted a Vest reply: "100% agree. This is getting reworked"). | Confirmed |
| GitHub sideloading (early main channel) | The zips from 37 releases were downloaded 837 times in total; the highest-download versions cluster between 10-06 and 10-12 (8.1.5 got 56 downloads, 8.2.2 got 74, 9.0.4 got 78); after 10-13 listed on the store, per-version downloads dropped to single digits or the twenties as users moved to store auto-updates | Confirmed (GitHub API) |
| Chrome Web Store | 10-13 listed, 11-06 has 331 users. The name and description both include "Vest Markets," so it ranks high when you search Vest in the store (the only other extension in our database explicitly built for Vest is NOXINDICATE, with 0 users) | Store listing confirmed; how many users the search brings in is unverified |
| Referral-code affiliate content | 2026-10-29 Traditional Chinese site homedadpro published a Better Vest install and main/sub account setup guide; the site itself also runs a Vest promo page | Existence confirmed; how many users it brings in is unverified |
| Discord / Vest community reputation | Support channel is Discord @ax4p; an X reply from a user says "downloaded today" | Partly confirmed |
| paid ads / creators | None found | Not found |
| Phone | The author's post mentions bvm.astrals.dev/update (mobile "update in two taps"); the data card says the author announced an iOS version on X | Partly confirmed |

### 3. Competitors

| Name | Where | Launched | Scale | How it differs from Better Vest |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PTR-Tracker(SniperFlow.ai / Martin Financial Holdings LLC) | Chrome Web Store + download package | Early 2026-10 (blog 10-11) | User count not obtained; version 0.9.32 | $19.99 a month, requires a license; the selling point is the calendar and stats, with copy trading as an add-on. Better Vest is free and has more features. |
| Tradesyncer Lab | Cloud copier | 2026-10-14 announced support for Vest Capital | Originally a major futures copier | Runs in the cloud and requires authorization; you apply for Lab access through Discord. Better Vest runs locally and doesn't pass through a server. |
| Trade Dispensary | Cloud copier | 2026-09-30 wrote a Vest integration tutorial | Unknown | Cross-platform copying from NinjaTrader / MT5 / TradingView into Vest, requires handing over a refresh token. Better Vest only copies between Vest's own accounts. |
| Tradara | Desktop trading terminal | Around 2026-10 | Unknown | A unified terminal for multiple prop firms (Tradovate / Rithmic / ProjectX + Vest), paid (the LAUNCH code gives 30% off) |
| Tradecopia | Windows / macOS client | Predates Vest | Unknown | Futures copier, $34.99–49.99 a month; the website shows a Vest discount |
| STRATUH free trade copier | YouTube / other | About 2026-10 mid | Video with 1,434 views | Also free; form and download numbers unverified |
| NOXINDICATE for Vest | Chrome | 2026-11-03 | 0 users | Only does chart indicators, but takes the same approach of "building an extension for Vest" |
| Vest built-in features | Big-company features | — | — | Couldn't confirm any built-in one-to-many copying on Vest; Vest 10-21 previewed "Something bigger is coming to Vest Capital," content unverified. If the official platform builds it itself, that's the biggest risk. |

Verdict: plenty of projects copy Vest trades, but most are futures copiers that just bolt on Vest support, or they charge a subscription. Only Better Vest is free, lives inside the Vest page, and is a full-featured trading enhancement layer.

### 4. Differentiation

1. **Free + referral-code monetization** : rivals charge $20–50 a month, while Better Vest charges nothing and puts the money into the Vest exam referral code users were already buying. In an ecosystem where everyone hands out discount codes, this is the lowest-friction play.

2. **Lives inside the original page** : it isn't another terminal or cloud service. Once installed, Vest's own page just gets stronger, with no tokens or passwords to hand over.

3. **Feature density and iteration speed** : one person shipping 37 versions a month, with far more features than the paid rivals.

4. **Trust engineering** : open-source and readable, signed updates, VirusTotal checks, and a nostats build.

These differences are the direct reason it spread in a small circle, especially "free + referral code" and "inside the page." But its ceiling is Vest's own user base (the data card cites 27k+ traders).

### 5. How many people have seen it

- Almost nobody knows about it yet. It only circulates in Vest trading circles: 23 GitHub stars and 7 forks; the author's GitHub account has 5 followers; x-radar corpus turns up no related discussion; no media coverage; revenue has never been disclosed (referral income is also unverifiable).

- A Chinese promotional site has written a tutorial, showing the referral alliance already treats it as lead-gen material.

### 6. What others can learn

- The formula: **find a platform that is breaking out, where official tools lag and referral codes pay commissions → build a free enhancement extension on top of its web page → monetize through the platform's referral code** . Prop firms, exchanges, Polymarket-style tools, and new SaaS products all fit.

- Use GitHub sideloading first to grab the initial seed users (starting at 10-04), then go to the store a week later for auto-updates and search traffic.

- For any tool that touches user funds, copy the trust design: open source, signing, remote kill switch, and a nostats build.

### 7. Risks and unknowns

- Platform risk: Vest can block third-party tools at any time (propfirmmatch: "can be disconnected at any time without notice"). homedadpro says Clause 9 of the Vest Prop terms names browser extensions, bots, and copy-trading tools, while Better Vest's README says the terms don't mention them. The two accounts contradict each other, and the original terms are unverified. Flash mode calls the order service directly with the logged-in session, which is the part most likely to get blocked.

- Vest itself is under a cloud: propfirmsinsider 2026-10-27 published "Is Vest Exchange A-Book? Questions Over Vest Markets Grow." If the host goes down, it goes down with it.

- User numbers come from a single snapshot (11-06), so daily growth can't be determined. The commission rate and revenue for the referral code WICK are unknown. Whether the iOS version has actually reached the App Store is unverified.
