Onlyfy EcomFilter: Shopify filter for Facebook Ads Library · getecomfilter.com

One video filmed eight times: Onlyfy got 2,000 people through a "comment extension" giveaway, then stopped

What it is A Chrome extension that hides non-Shopify-store ads in the Facebook Ad Library, merges duplicates, and helps dropshipping sellers find winning products faster. Free for 3 uses per day; Pro is $5/month.

Why it took off Vish, founder of the small Dutch team ecom.beer, filmed the hook "half the ad library isn't ecommerce" eight times on his own Instagram account. He asked people to comment "extension" to get the link, then collected emails on the website before sending traffic to the phones. Recommendations in the store added to it, bringing in 2,000 users.

CHow you could follow it Don't copy it directly. Free supersets already exist and keep launching. Copy the growth method instead: find a web task that people in your own circle repeat by hand, make it a single-feature extension, repeat one hook in video, send the link to people who comment a keyword, collect emails first, and use the extension to funnel people to the service you actually charge for.

Grade C: the features aren't exclusive, free supersets are everywhere and still launching weekly, and it has only 2,000 users. Subscription income is likely no more than a few hundred dollars a month. The growth came from the founder's own content account, which followers can't replicate. The growth method is worth learning; copying the product isn't. Few people know about it yet

Onlyfy EcomFilter is a Chrome extension that filters the Facebook ad library down to ads whose landing page is a Shopify store, hides the rest, and merges duplicate ads into a single card. It's for dropshippers picking products. The feature isn't new; other extensions shipped the same toggle 2024 years ago. Users grew from 0 to 2,000, almost entirely from the founder's own Instagram account with under 3,000 followers, where the same video was re-shot eight times. The last post went up in Oct 15, users reached 19 in Oct 2,000, and nothing has moved in 18 days since. The part worth learning is the promotion playbook, not the extension.

2,000

2026 Oct 14, Instagram account @ecom_vish posted a reel captioned: "This used to be a big waste of time. Search ecom keywords on ads library but half the ads aren't ecom. This extension solves it. Comment "extension" and I'll send you the link!" Besides #shopify and #dropshipping, the tags included #claude. By Nov 6, the post had 296 likes and 49 comments, and the comment section was nothing but "Extension" and "Extensión".」

This isn't the first one. The Sep 29 post used the same hook: 151 likes, 72 comments. On Oct 6 he posted three times in one day, including one in Dutch, "Shopify filter voor ads library!", each with only single-digit likes, which suggests he was testing versions. On Oct 11 he switched to an image post: 34 likes, 68 comments. The video's original sound is "Onlyfy - ads library filter for ecom", dated Aug 25, which means he started filming on day 6 after the plugin launched.

The account owner is named Vish, and the bio reads "Backend manager behind $10m in Ecom revenue · Building automations and teams". The developer who replies to bad reviews on the Chrome Web Store signs as "Vish H" and uses the email [email protected]. ecom.beer is a small Dutch team that does e-commerce automation and outsourcing with Filipino VAs. The person who builds the extension and the person who makes the videos are the same.

2024

Search Meta's ad library for e-commerce terms like "free shipping" or "50% off" and half the results aren't indie stores: they're apps, forms, Amazon, big brands like Nordstrom. To find what other small sellers are running as hit products, you have to click each landing page and check whether it's on Shopify. The ad library itself only filters by country, keyword and date, not by what platform the advertiser builds on.

Onlyfy installed, non-Shopify cards on the ad library page are hidden. The demo on the official site: 648 ads in, 331 left, 317 hidden. It uses several signals to tell whether a store runs on Shopify (response headers, checkout domain, CDN assets). If it can't tell, it keeps the card, so it doesn't wrongly hide anything. You can click "Peek" to see the hidden ones. Multiple ads for the same product get merged into one card. September ships a new version almost every week; the current one is 1.5.5. The store has 7 reviews averaging 4.57 stars. The only bad review, from Aug 30, says "after scrolling about 80 cards it stops loading." Vish replied three days later: "Are you on a VPN? The ad library limits scrolling under a VPN. We just shipped an update."

Where users come from

Comment keyword, then DM. The "comment 'extension' and I'll DM you the link" play is usually automated with a tool like ManyChat. It works on two levels: more comments pushes the algorithm to show the post more, and each comment is someone you can reach directly. Across a few posts, that adds up to two or three hundred visible comments.

People on their phones leave their email first. Instagram users are on their phones, but the extension has to be installed on a computer. The getecomfilter.com homepage says "It runs in Chrome on your computer. We'll email you the link. Send it to my computer", so it collects the email first and waits for the person to sit down at a computer. That mid-funnel drop-off is usually the biggest, and this catches it while also building a seller email list.

Chrome Web Store's "related extensions". The store bundles it with Koala Inspector (200k users), PPSPY (100k), AdSparo (100k), and AdLibNote (90k), which means the people using those big extensions are the same crowd. Around Oct 8 it renamed itself from "Onlyfy: Shopify filter…" to "Onlyfy EcomFilter: …" and switched on the keyword domain getecomfilter.com, going after long-tail search.

Not found: nobody has mentioned it on X in 90 days, no TikTok accounts or posts, nothing on Reddit, Product Hunt or media, and no Meta ads running as far as I can see (not seeing them doesn't mean they aren't running).

The user curve matches the posting cadence (extops.dev readings): Sep 1 714, Sep 20 1,000, Oct 19 2,000; the Chrome Store figure was flat at 2,000 every day from Nov 1 to 6. The store rounds anything above 1,000, so it may still be creeping up between 2,000 and 2,999 unseen from outside. But the last promotional post was in Oct 15, with no clear new activity since. That much is clear: a single person was pushing it, not word of mouth spreading.

Where the money comes from

The extension is free and can screen 3 times a day. Pro is $5 a month or $30 a year, collected on the official site. Rough estimate: with 2,000 users and a 1% to 3% paid conversion rate, that's a few tens to a couple hundred dollars a month.

The money here is probably not the point. The ecom.beer homepage lists a whole stack: competitor store tracking, OnlineJobs.ph hiring automation, a database of 15,913 Dutch Shopify stores, VA matching, listing automation, and a "Dropshipping team" done-for-you service. Onlyfy is the free entry point to all of this: login asks for an email, and so does the site, so what they collect is a list of precise e-commerce sellers. The real revenue is probably in the done-for-you service and the VAs (inferred).

In just four days, Nov 2 to 5, the store added at least 6 new ad library extensions. There's no evidence anyone is copying it specifically. It looks more like several people building for the same need at once, with AI-assisted coding making a plugin a matter of days. Users aren't coming for a unique feature; they first learned you could filter this way from Vish's video.

If it were you

Verdict: Stop building "ad library + Shopify filter" tools. There's already a free superset that's shipping new features every few days. What's worth copying is how it gets distributed.

Who it's for: people already inside a creator community who have a small tool that makes the case "this used to waste so much time," ideally backed by a service or product that actually earns money (agency work, courses, SaaS), with the plugin serving only as the entry point.

Not for: people with no audience of their own who are counting on the plugin itself to earn subscription revenue. 2,000 users at $5 a month doesn't cover one person's time.

How to build it: find a manual, repetitive web task that everyone in your circle does by hand, and turn it into a browser extension that does exactly one thing. Put the function and the platform right in the name, and pair it with a keyword domain. Start filming the week it goes live: repeat one hook, and re-film it in different languages. Auto-DM a link to anyone who comments the keyword. On the landing page, collect emails first with "send it to my computer."

How to get users: Instagram Reels plus comment-and-DM funnels is the main engine, and store featured placements are the baseline. If you're targeting non-English markets (Portuguese, Spanish, German e-commerce scenes), the same hooks filmed in the local language face far less competition. Brazil already has people doing this.

Before it's too late: the play itself isn't time-sensitive, but in e-commerce product research specifically, ad library extensions are piling in, and the later you enter, the harder it is to feel "first to see this."

What it means if you're reading it wrong: if Onlyfy's users keep climbing past 3,000 without posting, store organic traffic is bigger than estimated, and a standalone plugin has room to grow; if you've shot five or six videos and gotten single-digit comments, your hook or community is off, so change the hook first, not the product.

Onlyfy EcomFilter: A Shopify filter for the Facebook ad library, and why it works

Research date 2026-11-06 · Channel Chrome · Store page chromewebstore.google.com/detail/onlyfy-ecomfilter-shopify/j…

Bottom line

This is a one-feature extension from a small Dutch team, ecom.beer (founder Vish). In the Meta ad library it keeps only ads whose landing page is a Shopify store, hides the rest, and merges repeated ads for the same product into a single card. 2,000 users came mostly from the founder's own Instagram account @ecom_vish (about 2,700 followers), where one script was shot over and over and drove people in with "comment 'extension' and I'll DM you the link", plus organic traffic from the store's "related extensions" slot.

The feature itself isn't exclusive: an "Only Shopify" filter already existed 2024 years ago, and in 2026 10–November a few similar tools popped up. Users went from 10/19 to 2k and then stalled for 18 days, so for now it's a small trickle, not a breakout.

2. Competitors: who else does the same thing

Meta's Ad Library can't be filtered by site platform natively. "Show only Shopify stores" has been a long-running need for dropshipping product research, so there are many extensions around it. The table below is ordered by overlap with Onlyfy (user counts from the chromestore library snapshot 2026-11).

Takeaway: plenty of people build "only show Shopify stores" as a feature, but 2024 years on, someone turned that one toggle into a product, and made the detection more accurate. That's Onlyfy.

3. Growth tactics: where users come from

3.1 founder · Instagram Reels + comment-keyword DMs (confirmed, main channel)

  • Account @ecom_vish (Vish), about 2,696 followers, bio "Backend manager behind $10m in Ecom revenue · Building automations and teams". It matches ecom.beer ("We build ecom automations…hiring VAs"), so it's largely safe to treat as the founder's account (identity not verified).
  • The same hook was filmed repeatedly: "This used to be a big waste of time. Search ecom keywords on ads library but half the ads aren't ecom. This extension solves it. Comment \"extension\" and I'll send you the link!" Posts I could find:
    • 2026-09-29 reel Dd3WgIvyP7E: 151 likes / 72 comments, nearly all saying "Extension"
    • About 10/1 reel Dd3WwX4y7uE: comments are all "Extension," and someone asked "Does it work for info products?"
    • 10/6 posts on the same day, 3 total (DeLYAEFyuMR, DeLhXf8Ssq1, plus a Dutch version DeLs2jUSAuo "Shopify filter voor ads library!"), each with single-digit likes, likely testing different versions
    • 10/11 photo post DeWFG2ykkKY: 34 likes / 68 comments
    • 10/14 reel DeefK9LSTN1:296 likes / 49 comments;10/15 DehCEjpyJ7H:21 likes
    • The video audio is named "Onlyfy - ads library filter for ecom," dated August 25, so filming started on day 6 after launch
    • Source: instagram.com/reel/<id> (read via r.jina.ai, 2026-11-06)
  • The approach is a ManyChat-style "comment keyword → auto DM with link." More comments mean more algorithmic reach, and each comment is a person you can reach. The visible comments total two or three hundred.
  • The landing page is built to catch mobile traffic: the hero on getecomfilter.com reads "It runs in Chrome on your computer. We'll email you the link. Send it to my computer." IG users on their phones can't install the extension, so they leave an email and install it later at a desk. This step also builds an email list.

3.2 Chrome Web Store "related extensions" slot + rename (placement confirmed; traffic volume unverified)

  • The store recommends it alongside Koala Inspector (200k), PPSPY (100k), AdSparo (100k), AdLibNote (90k), Trendtrack (60k), and Ad Library Cloud (50k) (chromestore.related). Users of those larger extensions are the same dropshipping sellers, which gives it a steady trickle of traffic.
  • 10/8 After the rename to "EcomFilter," it picked up a keyword domain, getecomfilter.com, targeting long-tail terms in store search and Google. A Jina search for "Onlyfy Shopify filter Facebook Ads Library" ranks the store page first and the website third.
  • Third-party directories (chrome-stats, crxsoso, extension.vn) index it automatically, adding a little long-tail exposure.

Channels not found: 3.3

  • X: x-radar searches over 90 days for "onlyfy" and "getecomfilter" each returned 0 posts.
  • TikTok: TikHub search for "onlyfy" returned no relevant videos; @ecom_vish has no TikTok account (no result by username).
  • Reddit / HN / Product Hunt: nothing found.
  • Paid Meta ads: the metaads library shows no ads leading to getecomfilter.com or ecom.beer (the library only tracks a fixed list of products, so no results doesn't mean no spend).
  • Media and big accounts: none found.

3.4 Where the money comes back

  • Direct revenue: the free tier allows 3 uses a day; Pro is $5/month or $30/year. At 2k users and a typical 1–3% conversion rate, monthly revenue would be roughly tens to low hundreds of dollars (estimate, unverified).
  • It's more likely a funnel: the ecom.beer homepage also links to Masterlist (competitor store tracking), OLJ Plus (OnlineJobs.ph hiring automation), Slack 2 SOP, a Dutch Shopify store database (15,913 stores), Talent Match (VA matching), listing automation, a price-tracking agent, and a "Dropshipping team" done-for-you service. Onlyfy is the free entry point to this tool stack; the login asks for an email, and the website collects emails first, so what it gathers is a list of targeted seller leads.

4. Why it took off

  1. The need is real and the pain is easy to state in one line. Search the ad library for "free shipping" or "50% off" and half the results are apps, forms, Amazon, or big brands. Product researchers have to open each landing page to check whether it's Shopify. The website demo shows 331 Shopify ads out of 648, with 317 hidden, which makes the value obvious at a glance.
  2. The founder is the audience and runs their own content account. @ecom_vish's followers were already in the ecom / dropshipping crowd. The same hook was tested on 8/25 first, then 9/29–10/15 was spent on targeted promotion, and a Dutch version was filmed too. "Comment extension" turns engagement into leads at almost no cost.
  3. The phone-to-desktop handoff was designed on purpose. IG traffic arrives on phones, but the extension installs on a computer. Collecting the email first and sending the link afterward keeps many users from dropping off.
  4. The product is carefully built, so retention has a foundation. Shopify detection checks multiple signals (response headers, checkout domains, CDN assets, storefront API). When it can't tell (anti-bot or headless sites), it keeps the ad rather than wrongly hiding it. "Peek" reveals hidden ads, duplicate ads merge by product or store, and store-detection results are cached for two weeks. Releases came almost weekly in September. 7 reviews, rated 4.57.
  5. Store placement is feeding it traffic. Sitting next to several 100k-user extensions gives it a steady trickle of organic installs.

5. What's the differentiation, and is it why it broke out?

  • Differentiation: it does one thing and makes that thing credible. It identifies Shopify accurately, keeps ads when it can't tell, keeps each distinct product a store tests when merging duplicates, and publishes detailed privacy terms (no IP reading, data stays local). The name is the feature, priced at $5/month, far below the $30–$100 paid adspy SaaS tools.
  • Is the Shopify filter the reason it took off? Only partly. The "Only Shopify" toggle has existed in Ad Library Insights for 2024 years, with 7,000 users, more than this one. OnPromptAds, AdVantage Scope and AdsLeadz all detect Shopify too, and they have more features and are free. So users weren't pulled in by an "exclusive feature." They first saw it in @ecom_vish's videos and thought, "oh, you can filter like that." Distribution did most of the work; the product was just good enough to keep those people.
  • After 10/19, user growth flattened, which lines up with the IG posting schedule: the last promo post I could find is from 10/15. That suggests it was driven by one person's content, not organic word of mouth.

6. How many people are seeing it now

  • Hardly anyone knows about it yet. Revenue isn't public (getecomfilter.com and ecom.beer aren't in TrustMRR or the indie database), nobody on X mentions it, there's no press coverage, and its only exposure is the founder's own 2,700-follower IG account and store featuring.
  • But the "ad library + Shopify" niche is crowded. In just 2026-11-02 to 11-05 days, at least 6 ad library extensions were added to the store, including ProfitFly Radar, SpyHunter Ads, Ads Library (adslibrary.live), AdCairn, Seercraft and Proveny.

7. Copycats

There's no evidence anyone is directly copying it. The ones that launched after it and overlap heavily in features are OnPromptAds Ad Spy (2026-10, which also merges duplicate ads by product or store and detects Shopify landing pages), ProfitFly Radar (11-04) and SpyHunter Ads (11-05). It looks more like a parallel wave of builds for the same need, helped by AI coding lowering the bar for building extensions.

8. What others can learn

  • A single-tool + founder content account + comment-keyword DMs: one hook ("this used to waste so much time") shot over and over, tested across languages, with comments turned into leads.
  • Push a desktop extension through IG / TikTok, collect emails first: "Send it to my computer" captures the impulse from a phone, and builds an email list along the way.
  • Free tools as a funnel for a services business: ecom.beer uses a set of small tools (extensions, databases, automations) to steer sellers toward managed services and VA work, so no single tool has to make money on its own.
  • Renaming to catch search terms: the name spells out "Shopify filter for Facebook Ads Library," paired with a keyword domain.

9. Still unclear

  • IG video view counts (we only got likes and comments), and click-through and install conversion from comment DMs.
  • Whether it runs Meta ads (the metaads library doesn't track it, which doesn't mean it doesn't).
  • Whether @ecom_vish is the founder (the bio and the ecom.beer business line up closely, but it's not stated directly).
  • Paying user count and revenue.
  • Whether growth has really stalled since 10/19, or is still creeping up between 2,000 and 2,999 (the store shows buckets, so we can't tell).
  • The exact user counts for OnPromptAds and AdVantage Scope.
