Bought in Oct 7, monetized in Oct 17: a Brazilian YouTube teacher's extension for his students
What it is A niche-finding tool for people who run faceless YouTube channels in Brazil. The free extension flags how many times above average each video is performing on YouTube. The paid web app lists faceless channels that are blowing up every day, and lets you check with one click which language a viral topic hasn't been covered in yet.
Why it took off The brothers behind it, Dotti, have been teaching people to make money from dark channels for 2021 years. They have a channel with 25k subscribers and a full course ladder priced from R$37 to R$40,000. In early October they started offering the paid version to students, and the extension went from a few dozen users to over a thousand in two weeks.
CHow to play it Stop building yet another outlier extension. If you know faceless YouTube teachers in Spanish, Indonesian, Vietnamese or other languages who already have paying students, offer them a revenue-share deal: a free extension plus a monthly web library built for their course. Their videos and communities do all the acquisition.
1,000 users · rating 5.0 (15)
Dotti Finder is a Portuguese Chrome extension. On YouTube pages it tags each video with "several times higher than this channel's usual" and "views per hour," then sends people to a R$97–197/month web version, where it lists faceless channels that are blowing up every day. It launched in August, had 6 users by November 1,000, and has a 5.0 rating. Nothing in it is something others don't have. It grew because its creator is a knowledge-product influencer in Brazil who teaches people to make money from faceless YouTube channels. The extension is one of the tools in his course, and the users are his existing followers and students.
A student who made money in 10 days
Scroll down the dottifinder.com homepage and you'll find a video and a YouTube Studio screenshot. The channel in the screenshot had only 7 views in October 149, then climbed steadily, reaching 28k in 206 days. The owner is Caio Henrique, and his words are:
I used other niche-finding tools before and they were too hard to use. Dotti Finder beats them all. My favorite part is the algorithm: you save one channel and it pulls in similar channels on its own. I bought it in Oct 7 and made money by Oct 17, after 10 days of use.
The homepage has a dozen or so testimonials like this. One says "28 days, R$17,904", another says "monetized 3 channels in 9 weeks", another "5 channels in Portuguese, Spanish and Polish." Every testimonial is dated the same: October 2026.
This date matches the user numbers. A third-party extension stats site shows Dotti Finder had 29 users in September 38, 8 in October 527, passed 18 by 1,000 later in October, briefly hit two to three thousand, then fell back (I could not independently verify this curve). From early November 1 to 6, the Chrome Web Store kept showing "1,000 users," and the review count went from 15 to 16. So the paid version was likely offered to students starting in early October, and the extension jumped from a few dozen users to over a thousand in those two weeks, then leveled off.
What it is
In Brazil, "canal dark" (dark channel) is an established business: no face on camera, AI for scripts, voiceovers and editing, YouTube channels in English, Spanish or other languages, earning ad revenue in dollars. The hardest step is topic selection: which topic is taking off, and who hasn't covered it yet. Dotti Finder handles exactly that step.
- Free extension (the website says 19 features are free): on YouTube it shows outlier multiples and views per hour next to each video. On channel pages it shows whether ads are enabled and for how long, and where the niche sits in its lifecycle. It also lets you grab full-size thumbnails with one click, read full transcripts, hide Shorts, and automatically insert ad breaks in YouTube Studio.
- Paid version (payments via Kiwify, 7-day refund): Lite R$97/month, Pro R$197/month or R$1,497 per year (about $37 a month). The valuable part is the web-based Niche Finder: it scans for newly appearing faceless channels every day, sorts them by average views per video, tags them "rare / epic / legendary," and publishes a daily TOP 10 list of "whose videos to copy right now." There's also "Parecidos com os Meus" (save your channel and it finds similar ones on its own) and "Método Malandro": click once on a viral video and it checks 9 languages to see which one hasn't covered the topic yet.
The homepage headline is blunt: "Find faceless channels worth copying." The homepage says it has analyzed 212,765 channels and read 2.13M videos, with 1,587 new channels added this week (11-06 reads). The numbers differ across the site at different times and in different places.
Who is behind it
Brothers Giovanni Dotti and Victor Dotti have been teaching dark channels on YouTube since 2021. Giovanni's main channel has 24.8K subscribers and his Instagram has about 20K followers. He has publicly shown the YouTube Studio dashboards of 7 dark channels, earning R$167 over 266,919 days. What they sell is a full ladder:
| Product | Pricing |
|---|---|
| Entry course "Método Lucrando com o YouTube" | R$37 |
| Comunidade Dotti (community, live classes, "mining groups") | R$1,997/year |
| Dotti Growth | R$14,997 |
| One-on-one coaching | R$40,000 |
| Dotti Studios (AI makes finished videos directly), Dotti Finder | Monthly fee |
Dotti Finder is the monthly-fee piece of this ladder. The course is a one-time payment; the tool charges every month. Annual Pro includes 6 classes and a recording of an in-person event, "Mansão Dotti" (the website lists the live ticket at R$10,000). Dotti Growth and one-on-one students get one extra year of "VIP area", where the teacher personally picks niches. The terms in the tool (garimpar "mining", nicho/subnicho, Método Malandro) are exactly what the course teaches.
Reclame Aqui (Brazil's complaint platform) has complaints from students about the entry course.
Where users come from
Everything comes from the Dotti brothers' own traffic. I didn't see anything else.
- Video description box. On Nov 2, Giovanni posted "37 minutes to learn dark channels and monetize with AI: one channel, R$92,000 a month". It got 3K views in 19 days. The first line of the description is the R$37 entry course, the second line is "►DottiFinder, see what's hot right now, start free", followed by Dotti Studios, Dotti Growth, the one-on-one application form, and the community. The Nov 4 student interview "He made R$800,000 from dark channels" carries the same set of links.
- Dedicated tutorial channel. The brothers opened a new channel, "Irmãos Dotti", with only 349 subscribers. On Nov 3 it posted "Dark channels with Claude (fully automated)". It covers finding niches with Dotti Finder, writing titles and scripts with Claude, then making the video with Dotti Studios. It got 6,388 views. The plugin also hooks into MCP, so you can query its data directly from Claude or GPT. This video is selling that feature.
- Student group. The testimonial screenshots on the website come from group chats in the community. All 16 reviews in the store are 5 stars, and the website uses "5.0 on the Chrome Store" as a selling point. Almost everyone who installs the plugin is a fan or a student, so the reviews are naturally high.
I found no record of it running Meta ads, no coverage in English or Chinese media, and no mentions on X in 90 days. The Chrome Store name and description are Portuguese only, so few people probably find it through store search.
Who it's competing with
In English markets, "find hit videos, find niches" is already a red ocean:
| Competitors | Scale (Chrome Web Store, November) | How it differs from Dotti Finder |
|---|---|---|
| vidIQ | 4M users | General YouTube optimization, also has an Outliers feature |
| TubeBuddy | 1M users | Manages your own channel, doesn't mine niches across the whole platform |
| Nexlev | 100k users | The closest English rival, focused on finding faceless niches |
| Viewstats (the MrBeast team) | 100k users | English, leans toward creators on camera |
| 1of10 | 30k users | English outlier video library |
| TubeLab | Mainly web-based, claims a 400M video library | English faceless niche finder, from $29; Dotti's Niche Finder is almost a Portuguese version of it |
| DarkLAB | 488 users | A Brazilian equivalent, launched 2026 February, nearly identical features, from R$89.90 |
| RadarTube | Unknown | Brazil, R$67/month, promoted through SEO blogs |
The clearest example is DarkLAB: it launched half a year before Dotti Finder, is also in Portuguese, also flags outliers and views per hour, and also finds similar channels, yet the plugin has only 488 users. The difference isn't features. It's whether there is a teacher with over twenty thousand subscribers and paying students behind it.
In November, a batch of new English competitors appeared in the Chrome Store (Y+ YouTube Outlier Finder Pro, TubeMetrix, YTBRAIN, VidPulse AI), each with 0 to 2 users.
Why it took off
- The users are ready-made, and they have paid. Students paid R$37 to R$40,000 to learn niche finding. The tool automates the most time-consuming step in the course, so anyone following the method ends up installing it.
- The course and the tool recruit each other. The course brings people in to buy the tool. Annual tool buyers get the course and event recordings, which in turn bring people to the course. A one-time course revenue becomes a monthly fee.
- Localization. Fully in Portuguese, with prices and 12-installment plans that Brazilians are used to, and payment through Kiwify. The barrier is lower than for English tools priced in dollars.
- A good button. Método Malandro targets the most profitable dark-channel play: moving English hits into Spanish and Polish. It's one of the few things it does as a one-click feature that others haven't, but it isn't hard to copy.
If it were you
The verdict: Don't build yet another standalone outlier plugin. English already has vidIQ, Nexlev, and TubeLab, and Brazil has DarkLAB with its 488 users as a counterexample. Dotti Finder relies on the teacher's students, which you can't get. What's worth learning is the structure of "educator + monthly-fee tool", provided you can find a teacher who already has students.
Who it suits: Developers who can write plugins and scrapers, who also know a teacher in some language who teaches faceless YouTube, repost channels, or TikTok selling, and who is willing to build tools for them on a revenue-share or partnership basis. Or you already teach this kind of course in some language and have paying students.
Who it doesn't suit: People with no creator community who hope to get traffic through Chrome Store search, people who want to go head-on into the English market, and people who can't stand user numbers rising and falling with a teacher's traffic.
How to build it: First pick the language and community. Among Spanish, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Turkish, and Arabic, find teachers who are selling "earn money from faceless channels" courses and who have tens of thousands of subscribers and a paid community. (Inference: teachers like this probably exist in most major languages, but I haven't checked them one by one.) Follow Dotti's structure for the tool: the free plugin stays on YouTube pages and flags outliers and views per hour. Charge for the web-side "daily new viral channel library" and "which language nobody has covered yet". Use the same categories and terms as the teacher's course so students feel the tool is part of the course. Price and offer installments by local custom, with the monthly fee at 2–5 times the course's entry price.
How to get users: Not through your own efforts. The teacher links the tool in the description of every video, and makes a tutorial like "build a channel from scratch with AI + this tool". Older course students get a few months free, and higher-priced students get it permanently. Use students' Studio screenshots as testimonials. What you want is your share of the revenue split, not the traffic.
When to get in before it's too late: No specific date. But once YouTube cracks down on mass-produced AI channels and sharply cuts ad revenue share for this kind of channel, the whole education sector and these tools will shrink together, and by then it will be too late.
What would show you got it wrong: ① If Dotti Finder is still stuck around a thousand users by next year's first quarter, even teachers with ready-made students have a low ceiling for the tool. ② If fewer than 5% of the free-plugin users in your chosen teacher's student base convert to paid. ③ If YouTube tightens its monetization policies on "repetitive, mass-generated content" further, and stories like "monetized in 10 days" in student testimonials become rarer.

Dotti Finder — YouTube channel metrics (Chrome extension) research report
Research date: 2026-11-06 | Store ID: lpnjnahgabpibeaeocmflhdfhocpdkmi | Website: dottifinder.com
Bottom line
Dotti Finder isn't a standalone tool that took off on its own. It's a companion SaaS that Brazilian "dark channel" (faceless YouTube channel) knowledge-selling influencers Giovanni Dotti and Victor Dotti built for their own students and fans. 1,000 users come from their existing course funnel (R$37 entry course → R$1,997/year community → R$14,997 Dotti Growth → R$40,000 one-on-one). The extension is the free entry point, and the money is collected through the R$97/month Lite and the R$197/month (R$1,497/year) Pro. Its traction comes from the founder's existing audience and students, not from store search, and not from the product itself being new.
1. What it is
- Free extension: on YouTube pages it flags each video's outlier multiple (how many times higher than that channel's norm), views per hour (VPH), subscriber count, whether monetization is enabled, video and channel view curves, and a "niche cycle" stage. It also offers one-click ad break insertion in YouTube Studio, sidebar transcripts, tags, and large thumbnails, and hides Shorts. (Source: Chrome Store listing page, 2026-11-06 read)
- Paid (Kiwify checkout, 7-day refund):
- Lite R$97/month: save channels, "Parecidos com os Meus" (auto-finds channels similar to the ones you saved), title formulas, MCP (query the data directly from Claude/GPT, 150 queries/day), and "Método Malandro" (one click to check which of 9 languages nobody has covered yet for this hit topic).
- Pro R$197/month, or 12x R$154.82 / one-time R$1,497 for a year: adds the web Niche Finder (daily scan of newly surfaced faceless channels, sorted by average views per video, with Rare/Epic/Legendary tags, Top 10 list), 6 courses, and the annual plan includes the "Mansão Dotti" offline event recording (in-person ticket listed at R$10,000).
- Dotti Growth / one-on-one students get 1 extra year of the "VIP area" (teacher-picked niches, alerts). (Source: dottifinder.com homepage, 2026-11-06)
- The site claims: 334,697 channels analyzed, 5,254,719 videos read, +4,244 new channels collected daily (the numbers differ across the homepage; another spot says 120,924 / 1,213,392 / weekly +1,697).
2. Data
- Our chromestore data: 2026-11-01 1,000 users / 5.0 stars / 15 reviews; 2026-11-07 1,000 users / 5.0 / 16 reviews, version 3.2.37; 6-day growth 0 (item_snap, item_growth).
- Store listing 2026-08-19, last updated 2026-11-02; language Portuguese only (Brazil); developer email [email protected], no trader declared; this developer account has only this one extension (chromestore.developer).
- The recall card cites an extops curve: 09-29 only 38 users → 10-08 527 → 10-18 passes 1k, 10-23/24 peaks at 2k–3k then falls back; 10-06 to 11-02 it shipped 8 versions (not independently verified, chrome-stats / extops scraping was blocked).
- The timing lines up: every student testimonial on the site is labeled "2026 October", and one student says "bought Oct 7, monetized Oct 17". That suggests the paid version started being pushed to students around October, right when the extension jumped from dozens to thousands of users.
3. Who's behind it: the Dotti brothers' knowledge-selling funnel
- Giovanni Dotti: teaching dark canal since 2021. YouTube @giovannidottidotti, 124.8K subscribers, 235 videos; Instagram @giovannidotti, about 120K followers (from Jina search result summaries). He also opened a new channel, "Irmãos Dotti", with 349 subscribers. His video "Claude + Dotti Finder + Dotti Studios to build a dark channel", posted 11-03, has 6,388 views.
- Product line (giovannidotti.com.br / comunidade-dotti): R$37 entry course "Método Lucrando com o YouTube" → Comunidade Dotti R$1,997/year (WhatsApp/Discord groups, DottiLab "mining group") → Dotti Growth R$14,997 → one-on-one Mentoria R$40,000; also "Robô" (Dotti Studios / Dottiflow, AI video editing), DottiPulse (title method), offline Mansão Dotti events, and Dotticast student interviews.
- How it's endorsed: Giovanni publicly shows the Studio dashboards of 7 of his own dark channels (167 days, R$266,919.71), and has appeared on Kiwicast, Kiwify's official podcast.
- Negative: there are student complaints about the "Método Lucrando com o YouTube" course on Reclame Aqui (reclameaqui.com.br/kiwify/...).
4. Competitors
| Name | Where | Launched | Scale | How it differs from Dotti Finder |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| vidIQ Vision | Chrome/web | 2013 | 4M users (Chrome Web Store) | General YouTube SEO, mostly English, with an Outliers feature; not designed for copying dark channels |
| TubeBuddy | Chrome/web | 2014 | 1M users | Leans toward optimizing your own channel, doesn't mine niches across the whole platform. |
| Viewstats (MrBeast-style) | Chrome/web | 2023-11 | 100k users | English, aimed at face-cam creators; similar outlier tools |
| Nexlev | Chrome/web | 2023-11 | 100k users | Closest English rival: focuses on faceless / YouTube automation niche discovery; someone in Brazil also makes Portuguese tutorials |
| 1of10 | Chrome/web | 2023-11 | 30k users | Outlier video library, English |
| TubeLab | Web + Chrome (RPM Checker, 20k users) | 2024 | Claims a 400M video library | English faceless niche finder + outlier library, from $29; Dotti's Niche Finder is almost a Portuguese version of it |
| Outlier Finder (moreoften.io), OutlierKit, Outliers | Chrome | 2025–2026 | Hundreds of users | Free outlier-score extension, pure tool, no community |
| DarkLAB | Web + Chrome | 2026-02 | Extension 488 users | The most direct Brazilian rival: the extension also shows outlier/VPH/RPM/similar channels, R$89.90–199.90/month; no big-creator funnel |
| DarkPlanner | Chrome | 2026-02 | 9,000 users | A Brazilian dark-channel tool, but it automates Veo/Flow video generation rather than niche discovery |
| RadarTube | Web | Not verified | Unknown | An outlier tool for dark channels heavily promoted by Brazilian SEO blogs, R$67/month |
| YouTube Studio's Inspiration / Research tabs | Big-company features | — | full range | Only shows your own audience; can't show other channels' outliers |
Verdict: the outlier/VPH toolkit is already a red ocean in English (vidIQ, Viewstats, 1of10, TubeLab, Nexlev all do it), and the Portuguese market already has DarkLAB, RadarTube, and others. Dotti Finder has no exclusive features; what's distinctive is "Método Malandro" (multi-language gap lookup) and MCP access, which are small pluses.
5. Growth tactics (evidence)
- Creator's own content and student funnel (confirmed): every long video description from Giovanni links "►DottiFinder" (11-02 videos, 19,406 views; 11-04 videos, 4,746 views). The new "Irmãos Dotti" channel publishes Claude + Dotti Finder tutorials; the site's Pro pitch states outright "Dotti Growth / Mentoria students get the VIP area", and the student testimonials come from community group screenshots ("grupo-1/2/3.png").
- Bundled upsell (confirmed): the annual Pro plan includes offline event recordings and courses; student testimonials mention "Dotti Growth + robot + Finder" together, showing the tool is part of the course system, not sold alone.
- Incentivized reviews (highly likely): all 16 reviews are 5 stars, and the homepage promotes "5,0 on the Chrome Web Store" as a selling point; users are almost all fans/students, so ratings are naturally high.
- Store search / SEO: the name is Portuguese "métricas de canais no YouTube", but at 1,000 users, English searches won't surface it; it sits alongside TubeBuddy in the related-items slot, likely bringing in very little traffic (unverified).
- Paid ads: Dotti's Page doesn't show up in our Meta ad library (which only tracks listed products; not finding it doesn't mean it isn't running); whether the Dotti brothers' courses have run ads before is unverified.
- X / English / Chinese media: x-radar shows 90 "Dotti Finder" posts in 0 days; no media coverage.
6. Why it took off
- A ready-made, paying audience: 25k YouTube subscribers + 20k on IG + paid community / Growth / one-on-one students, so a few hundred to a few thousand people install it on day one.
- "Dark channel" is a mature moneymaking story in Brazil (building English/Spanish faceless channels to earn dollars from AdSense), and students' biggest pain is "finding a niche, finding hit videos." The tool solves exactly the step the course teaches, and students need it to follow the course method.
- The tool becomes the retention and renewal hook for the course: courses are one-time payments, SaaS collects monthly; Pro bundles courses and event recordings, which in turn brings in new course buyers.
- Localization: all Portuguese, prices and installments (12x) suited to Brazilians, Pix/Kiwify checkout; compared with vidIQ/TubeLab (English, dollar pricing), the entry barrier is lower.
7. Differentiation
- Feature-level differences are small: outlier, VPH, similar channels, and faceless niche finder already exist in TubeLab / Nexlev / vidIQ / DarkLAB.
- The real difference is the three-part package of "big-creator methodology + community + tool": the tool's categories and terms (canal dark, garimpar, nicho/subnicho, Método Malandro) match the course, and the teacher promotes niches in the VIP area. That's why it took off; a DarkLAB extension with the same features only has 488 users.
- Small highlights: Método Malandro (one click to see which hit topics nobody has covered in 9 languages, which maps directly onto the play of "repurposing English hits into Spanish/Polish") and MCP, which lets Claude/GPT query the data directly.
8. Visibility and copycats
- Visibility: buzz within a small circle, limited to Brazil's dark-channel education scene (Dotti fans and student groups). No coverage in English or Chinese media, no discussion on X; revenue is not public (only students' and Giovanni's own channel AdSense screenshots).
- Copycats: November saw a batch of similar empty shells added to the library (Y+ YouTube Outlier Finder Pro, TubeMetrix, YTBRAIN, VidPulse AI, etc., each with 0–2 users), but they're all English, and nothing shows they're copying it; in Brazil DarkLAB came earlier (2026-02), so it's not a copycat.
9. Takeaways
- Do a "knowledge-selling KOL + companion SaaS": the KOL already has students, the tool automates a manual step from the course, and monthly fees keep it running. Others can partner with existing course teachers in Spanish, Indonesian, Vietnamese, and other faceless/repurposing education scenes to build the same thing.
- Funnel of a free extension + paid web database: the extension keeps showing up on YouTube pages, while the web version holds the truly valuable "newly surfaced hit channels each day."
- Turn the "multi-language gap" into a button: repurposing creators care most about "which language nobody has covered yet."
- What not to copy: its growth depends on Dotti's own traffic; a team building only the tool, without a KOL, will struggle to replicate it (see DarkLAB).
10. Uncertain
- The extops curve (October peak 2–3k) is unverified; our library went from 11-01 to 11-07 and stayed 1,000, with no sign of growth.
- Paid users and MRR are unknown; Kiwify sales are not public.
- No evidence found of Meta/YouTube ad spend.
- The relationship between developer email rany_almeida and the Dotti brothers (outsourced dev or partner) is unknown.
