No. 27 Tirupati ticket-booking plugin: free, the most polished build, stalled at 1,000 users
What it is A free Chrome / Firefox extension that stores the whole family's names and Aadhaar numbers in advance, then fills the booking form on the Tirumala Temple (TTD) website in one click. It never clicks submit for you.
Why it took off Every month, slots go live at 10 a.m. on a fixed day and sell out in seconds. Each booking needs ID numbers for up to 6 people. Top plugins charge money and have bad reviews, while this one's name includes "Free", and it got its first users from a single YouTube tutorial and from related-extension listings on other pages in the store.
DHow you could follow it Don't build the number-28 TTD tool. Pick a different government or public form with timed releases that nobody has claimed yet, and copy what worked here: store data locally only, never submit, offer a practice page, and make a 1-minute tutorial in the local language. Get in early, while there are still fewer than three or four competitors.
1,000 users · rating 5.0 (2)
On 2026 Sep 25, a developer who had signed up for GitHub just two days earlier shipped a free Chrome extension, TTD Govinda Autofill (Free), to the store. The same day they opened a YouTube channel and posted one 1-minute AI-voiced tutorial. The extension fills in every family member's details in one click when booking on the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) site in India. By Nov 6 it had 1,000 users and 2 five-star reviews. But more than twenty extensions were already doing the same thing before it. It's worth studying as a cautionary tale: the demand is real and the build is decent, but it arrived late, the category has no moat, and the platform is still cracking down.
On the 24 of each month at 10 a.m.
On ordinary days, Tirumala Temple gets 6–80k worshippers a day, over 250M visits a year (tirupatiguide.com). The most sought-after ticket is the ₹300 Special Entry Darshan: TTD releases roughly three months' worth of slots at 24 a.m. on a fixed day each month (usually around the 10th), and they're gone within seconds. A post on Reddit r/TirumalaDarshan from Aug 18 says October's tickets open "w.e.f. 24.07.2026, 10:00 AM".
The hard part isn't speed, it's the form. You can book up to 6 people at once, and each person needs a name, age, gender, ID type and Aadhaar number (passport number for overseas Indians). TTD doesn't save pilgrim details, and the browser's built-in autofill doesn't work well on this kind of dynamic form. So every month, a crowd types the same ID numbers into the same form at the same moment, frantically, 6 times over. That's why this niche exists.
What it does
Store the family's details in the browser ahead of time, and one click fills the booking page. It covers a wide range of booking types: ₹300 darshan, Arjitha / Virtual Seva, accommodation, senior-citizen darshan, Srivari Seva (including photo and blood group fields) and Group Seva, plus the NRI passport pop-up. It also offers multiple family profiles, a countdown to ticket release, pre-submit checks such as Aadhaar validation, an Alt+A shortcut, 6 languages (English, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam), and a practice form you can try without logging in to TTD, along with a tutorial for using the Firefox Android version on a phone.
It wants people to remember two lines in particular. The official site says it's "a free Chrome extension offered as a seva to Sri Venkateswara Swamy", a free offering dedicated to the god. The YouTube description reads: "It never presses Continue, Submit or Pay, never solves a CAPTCHA and never jumps a queue." Data stays on the device and can be encrypted with your own password using AES-256. The last line of the video is "Om Namo Venkatesaya 🙏".
Both reviews are short: Amruth Gowda gave 10-06 "Works great", and Sampath Kumar gave 10-23 "Awesome". The only comment on the video (10-09) asks "How to using mobile". Many users only have a phone.
More than twenty already came before it
Searching the Chrome store for listed plugins whose names or descriptions include TTD, Tirumala or darshan turns up 27, and 25 of them were published after December 2025. Sorted by user count (Chrome store, 11-06):
| Add-ons | users | Rating | Launched | Paid | Approach |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| TTD Pilgrims Manager | 30,000 | 3.3 (30 reviews) | 2025-12-14 | Has in-app purchases | The earliest; shortcuts all the way to submit |
| TTD Autofill Assistant | 10,000 | 4.2 (34 reviews) | 2025-12-27 | Paid per pass | "Fill & Continue" jumps straight to the payment page; reviews complain about the cost |

| TTD Darshan Autofill: Quick Paste | 961→911 | 3.7 (3 reviews) | 2026-08-28 | 7-day / 30-day / 90-day / 1-year passes | After TTD blocked it, switched to making users press Ctrl+V themselves |
| About 15 others | Each under 800 | — | 2026-08 to 10 | Mostly free | Riding each other's names |
How blatant the name-piggybacking is: the store also has "TTD Govinda Autofill Express Pro" with 352 users, which looks like the paid version of it but is actually made by another developer, praveen.gudivaka, with no connection to it.
Scale tracks launch date almost exactly: the two that went live in December 2025 pulled in 40k users; the July launches sit at 6,000–9,000; anything launched after August sits at 1,000–2,000, no matter how well it does. Like Mivaan from the same period, it's 1,000, under half of August's QuickFill and Form Helper. On the store, the 11-01 to 11-06 user count hasn't moved at all (1,000+ is what the store rounds to; the real number is between 1,000 and 1,999). Firefox DAU 78 (Firefox Add-ons store, 11-06).
Where these 1,000 people come from
There are only three entry points we can find:
- That YouTube tutorial. The channel @ttd-autofill has just this one video: 7,329 views, 23 likes, and the channel has 7 subscribers (YouTube, 11-06). Few subscribers but lots of views suggests the plays come from people searching "TTD autofill" on YouTube; we can't tell whether it was paid promotion. At 1,000 users, this video is probably the main entry point (inferred).
- The "related extensions" bar on other extensions' store pages. The recommendation bars on the store pages of Pilgrims Manager, QuickFill, Quick Paste and others, each with 30k users, carry "TTD Govinda Autofill (Free) 5.0". Traffic from the leaders spills over to it, and the "(Free)" in the name rides on the anger at the leaders charging money. A Reddit thread is even titled "TTD Autofill extension isn't free anymore".
- Store search. The name takes all four words TTD, Govinda, Autofill and Free (inferred).
What we couldn't find is also worth noting: the author has never posted on r/TirumalaDarshan (the authors of QuickFill and others have), and there's no coverage on X or in the media. The Telugu Instagram and Facebook pages promote other products.
TTD is blocking it, and everyone is racing to fix it
On Oct 13, the X account @ttd_updates posted "TTD website now blocking autofill extensions", with 142k views and 2,400 likes. A Reddit post titled "TTD has blocked auto-fill extensions" appeared at the same time. According to the TTD Form Helper update notes, TTD's forms now "ignore every event that the browser itself did not generate": only input the browser produces counts, and values an extension writes in programmatically don't.
Responses varied. Form Helper announced it was fixed; Quick Paste gave up and sent users back to Ctrl+V; Govinda shipped an update on Oct 31 to 2.6.4, whose notes say it "waits for the ID number box to unlock, and checks that every value stays filled", so it's still being adjusted. We didn't verify whether it can still fill the TTD site.
This is what the category really looks like: the platform changes its frontend once, twenty-odd extensions break together, and then they're all fixed together. Whoever is slowest to fix loses rating.
Where the money comes from
No. It's free, the store has no in-app purchases, the website has no pricing page, and the author presents it as a devotional offering. The paid players in this category are others: Autofill Assistant and Quick Paste sell day or year passes, and Quick Paste's site says "500+ devotees". But charging brings complaints and "free alternatives" straight away. Govinda is itself one of those alternatives.
If it were you
D: Don't go after this one. The Tirupati booking niche already has 27 extensions. The leaders have been up for nearly a year and have taken 40k users; anything launched after August stays at a thousand or two however good it is; the platform keeps actively blocking, and every redesign means rebuilding. There's no revenue to speak of, and anyone who charges gets undercut by a free clone. It is itself an example of "the best craftsmanship still doesn't matter".
Who it suits: only someone who wants to practice, or to build a small extension they can talk about on a CV. Or someone who is already in a community that has to grab a particular government form every month (local news accounts, service centres, group admins) and has an audience ready to go.
Who it doesn't suit: indie developers who want to make real money or build something big; people who don't speak the local language or aren't part of this community.
How to do it: don't build the 〔28th〕 one on TTD. What you can borrow is the playbook: pick a different "government or public form that opens at a fixed time" that nobody owns yet. First confirm the browser's built-in autofill is bad on that form and the official site doesn't store your details; then check whether the store already has similar extensions. Follow its approach: keep data local only, never press submit for the user, never touch captchas (this makes it harder for the platform and the store to target you); offer a practice page that works without logging in; and plan the mobile version in advance.
How to get users: on launch day, publish a 1-minute tutorial in the local language and tap into YouTube search traffic; take the search terms people would type; post in Reddit, Facebook groups and local blogs. Govinda skipped this step, and QuickFill, which posted on Reddit at the same time, got twice the users.
When to get in: it only makes sense to enter when a form has just appeared and there are fewer than three or five similar extensions in the store. The lesson from this category is that those who arrive in the first two months take most of the users, and those who arrive six months later are left with scraps.
What would show this read was wrong: (1) TTD ships its own feature to save pilgrim profiles, and the whole category dies at once; (2) the reverse: if Govinda grows to five or ten thousand users over a few months by surviving the blocks and staying free, it would show that in this kind of category, a late entrant can still win by fixing fast and building well, and this verdict would be too pessimistic.
In one line: when a single form gets twenty-odd people writing extensions at the same time, the early ones take the users and the late ones take the ratings. Enter this kind of niche when it first appears, or don't enter it at all.

TTD Govinda Autofill (Free): why it got traction
Chrome extension mfmeihnjhifiphjodfhleihpmealcimi · research day 2026-11-06. One-line verdict: it hasn't really taken off. It sits around #8 in a tiny category that's already crowded (TTD booking form autofill, at least 25 extensions). Its 1,000 users come from three things: a must-have for people who fight for a ticket every month, a YouTube tutorial with 7.3K views, and appearing in the "related extensions" on other extensions' Chrome store pages. User numbers have been flat since 11-01. What sets it apart is "free + never submits automatically + careful craftsmanship", but in this category several free, never-submitting, local-only extensions already exist.
1. What it is
- Developer udayadev95 ([email protected], GitHub adi95-dev, account created only 2026-09-23, 1 repositories). Published on 2026-09-25, updated to v2.6.4,2026-10-31, 145KiB, 6 languages (English, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam). Sources: Chrome Web Store page, official site.
- What it does: stores family members' pilgrim profiles in advance (name, age, gender, Aadhaar or passport number), and fills the whole form in one click when booking on ttdevasthanams.ap.gov.in for Special Entry Darshan (₹300, up to 6 people), Arjitha/Virtual Seva, accommodation, senior citizen darshan, Srivari Seva and Group Seva. Also includes: multi-family profiles, a countdown reminder for ticket release, pre-checks like Aadhaar validation, NRI passport/OCI popups, an Alt+A shortcut, an optional AES-256 master password, a practice form page, and a Firefox Android tutorial (usable on phones too).
- Positioning: it describes itself as "a free seva (free devotional service)"; it never presses Continue/Submit/Pay for the user and doesn't touch captchas. No in-app purchases in the store, and no pricing on the website.
- Data (chromestore library item_snap): 11-01, 11-04, 11-06, 11-07 all have 1,000 users, rating 5.0, 2 ratings in total. Firefox version DAU 78,0 ratings (AMO API, 2026-11-06).
2. Competitors: the niche was already crowded

| TTD Express Autofill / Express Pro / Darshan Assist / …… about 15 in total | each <800 | — | 2026-08 to 10 | Mostly free | The names overlap: "TTD Govinda Autofill Express Pro" is a different developer's product, praveen.gudivaka, and has nothing to do with this one |
There's also Firefox's "Auto Fill for Tirupati TTD Bookings (Unofficial)" and "Tirumala Info Booking Helper", the Edge versions of Quick Paste / Express, and on Reddit people mention a Safari version and a "TTD QuickFill mobile app". TTD itself has no feature to save pilgrim details, and the browser's built-in autofill doesn't work well on these dynamic forms. That gap is why the whole category exists.
Correction to the recall card: the card says "the same developer also has a Pro version (afkfcpkemaaeljpnhhcedohnfemeglbj), forming a Free/Pro matrix." That's wrong. The Express Pro store page lists praveen.gudivaka, so there's no matrix; someone else borrowed the name.
3. Where users come from
- YouTube tutorial (confirmed): the channel "TTD autofill" (@ttd-autofill) and the extension launched the same day (2026-09-25). The whole channel has just 1 video, "1-minute guide", with 7,329 views, 23 likes, 7 subscribers (YouTube Data API, 2026-11-06). The description links to the store, a practice form, and a mobile tutorial, and the narration is AI voiceover (Veena TTS). Few subscribers against many views suggests the views come mainly from YouTube search for "TTD autofill", and maybe YouTube ads (not verified; our ad library doesn't track it). Given 1,000 users, this video is probably the main entry point.
- Related extensions in the Chrome store (confirmed): Brave search results show TTD Express Autofill, TTD Pilgrims Manager (30k users), TTD QuickFill, Quick Paste, and even the store page of a "Digital Arrival Card" extension, all with "TTD Govinda Autofill (Free) 5.0" in their related section. The top extensions' traffic spills over to this one. The "(Free)" in the name targets users who are annoyed that the top paid ones charge.
- Store search (inferred): the name covers four search terms at once: TTD, Govinda, Autofill, Free.
- Recurring must-have: on a fixed day each month (usually around the 24th), TTD releases the next month's ₹300 SED and other quotas at 10 AM, and they sell out within seconds (a Reddit 2026-08-18 post reads "October-2026 tickets … w.e.f. 24.07.2026, 10:00 AM"). The extension launched 09-25, right around one of these releases (the link between the release date and the launch is not verified).
- Channels not found: no posts from the author on Reddit r/TirumalaDarshan (the QuickFill and Booking Assistant authors have posted there); none on X (x-radar has 0 corpus posts over 60 days), HN, or media. Instagram/Facebook promotion is from other products.
4. Why it got these 1,000 users
- The demand is real and recurring: Tirumala sees 6–80k visitors a day on normal days and over 250M a year (tirupatiguide.com); each booking means filling Aadhaar details for up to 6 people within seconds, and it repeats every month.
- Top paid options are expensive and poorly reviewed, leaving room: Pilgrims Manager scores 3.3 and Autofill Assistant reviews complain about paying (chrome-stats review summary). A Reddit post is titled "TTD Autofill extension isn't free anymore". A free extension with the word "Free" and a self-described seva angle can catch those users.
- TTD blocked programmatic filling, so fewer extensions work: 2026-10-13 @ttd_updates posted "TTD website now blocking autofill extensions" (142k views, 2.4K likes). A Reddit thread says "TTD has blocked auto-fill extensions". TTD Form Helper's update notes say the site's form fields "ignore every event that the browser itself did not generate" (they check isTrusted). Quick Paste fell back to asking users to paste manually. Govinda was updated to 2.6.4 on 10-31, and its description says it "waits for the ID number box to unlock, and checks that every value stays filled", showing it is still adapting to TTD's changes. Whether it currently works on TTD is not verified.
- Good trust-building: local storage, encryption, never submits, a practice form, 6 Indian languages, and a privacy policy page. For older users and NRIs (overseas Indians) who must hand over the Aadhaar numbers of the whole family, this matters more than speed.
5. Differentiation, and whether that's why it broke out
- Versus the paid leaders: free, and it explicitly doesn't push users forward (Autofill Assistant and Mivaan both sell "straight to payment page").
- Versus other free options: the broadest coverage, including many seva types, accommodation, senior citizens, Srivari Seva photo and blood group, Group Seva, NRI passports, plus 6 languages, pre-checks, release reminders, and Firefox for Android. These are build-quality differences that aren't visible at a glance on the store page.
- Verdict: these differences earn it good ratings and a catchy name, but they aren't enough to make it take off. QuickFill and Form Helper launched around the same time and both have 2,000 users, and Mivaan has 1,000; this one doesn't lead on any metric. In this category, what really decides scale is who got there first (the two ahead of it took 40k between them at 2025-12) and whether it survives TTD's blocking.
6. How many people know about it
- Revenue: none, and it doesn't charge.
- Discussion: apart from its own YouTube video, no media, major X accounts, or Reddit threads mention it that we found. It only appears passively in the Chrome store's related section.
- The category itself is discussed a lot in r/TirumalaDarshan and Telugu Instagram/Facebook groups, and more than 20 copycats have followed.
7. What others can borrow
- Look for scenarios where a government form gets rushed at a fixed time each month (India's TTD, IRCTC Tatkal, visa applications in various countries, entry cards, exam registrations), and build a local-storage, no-submit autofill extension. Use a name that covers the search terms and includes "Free", and catch search traffic with a YouTube tutorial with 1-minute AI voiceover.
- Use "never auto-submits, never touches captchas" to earn trust from platforms and users, lowering the risk of platform blocks and store takedowns.
- Provide a practice form and a mobile (Firefox Android) tutorial to lower the barrier for first use.
- Lesson: this category has no moat. Within two months more than 20 clones appear, and one frontend change by the platform breaks everyone at once. Money can only come from getting in early and charging per pass, and charging immediately invites "free alternatives".
8. Still unclear
- Whether it can actually fill forms on TTD now (after the October blocking).
- Whether the 7.3K YouTube views were paid promotion.
- Roughly which day the 1,000 users arrived (extops has no curve for it; our snapshots have been at 1,000 since 11-01).
- Whether the developer will ever release a paid version (there are currently no signs of one).
