The last line of every video caption: how TikQuick got 70k editing accounts to advertise it for free
What it is A free browser extension plus web tool that rewrites your file before you upload a video to the TikTok web version. It claims to reduce compression so videos stay sharp and keep their frame rate.
Why it took off The editing community has been running an 'upload method' trend for 2026 years, and it rode that. The key is that the extension adds its own link and hashtags to the end of every video caption by default, so every user who posts a video runs an ad for it.
CHow you could copy it Don't copy the quality patch (it's crowded, earns nothing, and goes to zero when the platform changes). Copy the caption line: if your tool's output gets published publicly, add a default, switchable attribution and real hashtags by default, with the toggle labeled 'Keep on, support us'.

TikQuick is a free browser extension plus a web tool that claims to stop TikTok from compressing your video quality. The Chrome Web Store shows 6,000 users, but its website shows nearly 70k accounts. Most of the other 60k+ people came from a line at the end of someone else's video caption. The extension added that line itself, and it's on by default. Here's what it sells, how that line works, who it's competing with, and what you can take from it.
A video with 410k views, and the last line of its caption wasn't written by the creator
On Oct 18, 2026, a TikTok account called @nestzzy posted a clip of rapper Yeat. The caption was just "i told uuu.. #yeat", followed by one more line:
Quality Upload Method -> tikquick.online/ #tikquickmethod
The account had only 924 followers, but by Nov 6 the video had 416k views (public TikTok data, 11-06).
Searching "tikquick" on TikTok that same day, about 20 of the top 30 results ended their captions with that exact line: a JoJo edit (@fw.orox, 11-486k views), supercar edits, Jujutsu Kaisen edits, Loki edits, K-pop fancams... The posters mostly had a few hundred to ten or twenty thousand followers, the topics had nothing in common, and the only shared element was that line. #tikquickmethod is a real, clickable hashtag. Across TikTok the #tikquick tag has 241 videos and 2.23M views (11-06).
Users didn't add that line themselves. The TikQuick extension intercepts the upload request when you post from TikTok Studio's web page and inserts the sentence and hashtag into the caption. The extension popup has a toggle labeled "Caption Watermark – Keep this on to support TikQuick!", and it's on by default.
What it sells: an "upload method" for the edit community
TikTok re-compresses every upload, and edit creators (edits, AMVs, car clips, athlete montages) care most about sharpness and 60/120 frame rate. Once it's been squashed, the video looks mushy. In 2026 H1, a whole category grew up around this in the scene, known as the "upload method": rewriting the file header or container of an MP4 before upload, with claims that TikTok will transcode it less. "Which method do you use?" became a question that gets asked again and again in the comments.
TikQuick is one of them. 2026 In May 12 it launched on Chrome, and also on Edge (1,407 installs), Firefox and Opera. The official site also offers a web version that needs no extension install and works on mobile. All free.
No independent tests exist on whether it actually works. TikTok's official API docs cap frame rate at 60 fps, and open-source projects in the same space admit they can't get around transcoding. Users aren't sure either. Under the developer's May tutorial, the recurring comments are "Is the method patched?", "Does this work now?", "Is the method safe😭", and one saying their video was removed for violating community guidelines. None of that has slowed its growth. In this community, "I use the method" is itself a kind of identity.
How the 70k accounts came about
| Entry point | Metric | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Chrome Web Store | 6,000 users, 4.35 stars, 17 ratings. From 11-01 to 11-05 the user count didn't move. | Chrome Web Store, 11-05 |
| Edge Add-ons store | 1,407 installs | Edge Add-ons store, 11-06 |
| Firefox | DAU 57 | Firefox Add-ons site, 11-06 |
| Website accounts | 69,968, having processed 526k videos in total; 1,703 added this week, 290 added today | Live counter on the tikquick.online homepage, 11-06 |
All three extension stores combined have about 7,500 installs, while the website account count is more than 9 times that. Inference: most people saw the link in someone else's caption, clicked through to the website, and used the web version directly.
Growth came in three phases:
- The developer lit the fuse. The developer's account @immike.__ has the bio "ONLY developer of TikQuick" and 551 followers. In May 26 they posted "TikQuick PC Method Tutorial", which got 45k views and 120 comments.
- Creators made tutorials on their own. @lor_naya's "HOW TO UPLOAD FULL QUALITY VIDEOS", posted Aug 17, got 104k views. @_.kawaii__'s "My quality tutorial!" from Sep 3 got 105k views. Tutorials draw traffic naturally in this community, because everyone wants to know everyone else's method.
- The caption watermark relay. From October on, most new videos showing up in search weren't tutorials. They were ordinary edits carrying that line. Edit-account viewers are mostly edit accounts themselves, and when they see a well-made video with "Quality Upload Method ->" in the caption, they have all the reason they need to click. Every user who posts with it puts in another impression for the product. Based on 526k processed videos ÷ 70k accounts, each account averaged about 7.5 uses (estimate).
The trick isn't new. Hotmail used to add "Get your free email at Hotmail" to the end of every email, and iPhone's default was "Sent from my iPhone". What TikQuick did right was word the off-switch as "Keep this on to support us", and insert a real hashtag so the link was searchable within TikTok.
No ad spend found, no discussion on X in the past half year, no press coverage. An "upload methods" roundup from November named Maska, RTX Fury, Zilem and seven or eight others, but didn't mention TikQuick. It lives only inside the edit community.
Where the money comes from: almost none so far
The website says "Completely free", and the extension has no in-app purchases. The few revenue signals are light: a crypto donation page (USDT, BTC, ETH, etc.); a sponsorship slot for the Telegram channel Editing News on the web version (subscribing to the channel raises the upload limit from 300MB to 400MB); a developer API that says "Premium keys unlimited" with no public pricing; and logged-in users get a 1500MB limit plus an "Optimize" encoding service. It runs server nodes in France, Las Vegas and Utah, which isn't cheap. Revenue isn't public. Inference: donations plus sponsorship slots, at small volume.
Who it's competing with
This is a crowded category, and almost everyone entered at once:
| Competitors | Launched | Scale | Compared to TikQuick |
|---|---|---|---|
| Editing Enhancer(Editing News) | 2026-07 | Chrome 20k users | Backed by a Telegram channel, has in-app purchases, bigger than TikQuick; the two cross-promote |
| WTM TikTok Method | 2026-06 | Chrome 7,000 | Extension only, climbed from 6,000 in November |
| CompressBase (formerly Maska Method) | 2026-03 | Chrome 4,000 | Earlier, positioned on "No watermarks", the opposite approach |
| FLOWTIK 120 FPS, TikoPro Uploader | 2026-05 / 07 | Each 3,000 | One has in-app purchases, the other ties accounts to Telegram |
| Zilem, RTX Fury, itzcrih and other web methods | 2025–2026 | Not verified | Web and Discord only; Zilem's tutorial video has 1.41M views (8-22) |
| Long-tail copycats (Upload120, VK Upload Patcher, etc.) | 2026-04 to 11 | Dozens to hundreds | VK Upload Patcher arrived 11-04 |
Under Zilem's tutorial with 1.41M views, one commenter wrote "Tikquick better"; the most-liked comment was "No matter which method you use, TikTok deletes the video anyway" (110 likes). Technically the options are similar. Distribution is what separates them.
If it were you
Grade C: you can learn one trick here, but the product itself isn't worth chasing. A dozen-plus "TikTok upload methods" are being built at the same time. There's no tech moat, the results can't be verified, and everything is free with no revenue. If TikTok changes one upload field or bans #tikquickmethod, the whole business goes to zero. The part worth taking is the caption line.
Who it suits: anyone who already has (or is about to build) a tool whose output gets published publicly: video editing, image generation, subtitles, templates, posters, resumes, reports. Adding attribution to the user's output is something you can use right away.
Who it doesn't suit: anyone who wants to copy a TikTok quality patch to make money (the category is saturated and there's no revenue to copy), or anyone worried about platform risk controls and account bans.
How to do it:
- By default, add a dismissible attribution line to user output, with a link and a real, searchable topic or hashtag. Word the toggle as "Keep this on to support us", and don't hide it.
- Two entry points: an extension for heavy desktop users, a web tool for mobile users. Tie both to one account so you can count people across them yourself.
- First find a subculture with "superstition-level" needs (people constantly asking each other "what are you using?"). Its members are both the content creators and the audience, which is what makes attribution spread.
- If you still want to do a "quality method" product: switch platforms. I haven't found any Chrome Web Store extension that specifically targets quality on Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts uploads (11-06 checked), but nobody has verified whether those platforms' transcoding can be bypassed, so validate the technology first (inference).
How to get users: light the fuse yourself with a tutorial (TikQuick's first one got 45k views from an account with only 551 followers); get small accounts inside the community to make tutorials; let the attribution handle the rest. Trade sponsorship slots with community Telegram channels.
Timing: the attribution trick has no time window and works at any point. The quality-patch category does have a window, and it's closing: 3 through July was the crowded entry period, November still saw new launches, and TikTok could change its rules at any time.
Signs you've misjudged this: (1) TikQuick's website accounts pass 2027k before 150 or it starts charging publicly and people pay. That would mean the community is worth more than I assumed, and C is too low. (2) TikTok bans the #tikquickmethod hashtag or starts deleting videos with that caption line. That would mean the attribution loop itself can't survive on sensitive platform categories, and any move elsewhere should drop the link and keep only a plain topic.

Why TikQuick (Chrome extension odoegeoijbmafbbddbmklbccnefgfngl) took off
Research date 2026-11-06. Sources: our chromestore database (item / item_snap / related), TikHub (TikTok search, user profiles), the tikquick.online site and its stats API, the extension package source (version 2.3.1, downloaded from the Chrome Web Store and unpacked), Edge and Firefox store APIs, Jina web search, x-radar.
One line
TikQuick is a free browser extension plus a web "patch" tool. On TikTok Studio's web uploader, it intercepts requests and rewrites the MP4 header so TikTok compresses less. That's the "upload method / quality method" edit creators talk about. It grew mainly through a viral loop hardcoded into the product: by default, the extension appends Quality Upload Method -> https://tikquick.online/ #tikquickmethod plus a real hashtag to every caption. Each video a user posts is an ad for it.
1. Data
- Chrome Web Store: 6,000 users, rated 4.35 stars from 17 reviews. 2026-05-12 listed, 2026-10-29 updated to version 2.3.1. Snapshots show the user count stuck at 6,000 from 11-01 to 11-07, while review count rose from 14 to 17 (chromestore.item_snap).
- Edge Add-ons: 1,407 active installs, version 2.0.0, no ratings (Edge getproductdetailsbycrxid, 2026-11-06). Firefox: 57,2026-04-27 daily active users (AMO API). Across the three stores, roughly 7,500 people have installed the extension.
- Live site counter (
tikquick.online/api/counterstats/stats, SSE stream, read at 2026-11-06):total_users 69,960,total_processes 526,265,newusers_thisweek 1,698,newusers_thisday 286. Accounts are roughly 9 times the extension installs. Most users apparently come through the web patch (/web/, no install needed, works on phones) or only sign up for an account. It adds about 1.7 thousand accounts a week and has processed 520k videos in total. - Earliest TikTok content: the developer's own account @immike.__ posted "TikQuick PC Method Tutorial" on 2026-05-26, with 45k views. The bio reads "ONLY developer of TikQuick". It has 551 followers, 4 posts and 26k total likes.
2. Competitors: a whole gray-market "upload method" niche
In the first half of 2026, a wave of "upload methods" hit the TikTok edit scene (edits / AMVs / car videos / player montages). They all promise "no compression, 60/120fps, 4K." The mechanism is roughly the same: rewrite the MP4 container or file header so TikTok transcodes less. Most of the "related extensions" Chrome Web Store suggests for TikQuick are from this group (chromestore.related):
| Competitors | Form | Launched | Scale | How TikQuick differs |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Editing Enhancer – Editing News & reLynth | Chrome | 2026-07-15 | 20k users, 19 ratings | Backed by the Telegram channel Editing News, lists in-app purchases, and is building an ecosystem. The partner slot for it still appears on the TikQuick web version. |
| Editing VPN (also from Editing News) | Chrome | 2026-04-23 | 7,000 | Sells an "edit-focused VPN". It's an add-on product, not a patch. |
| WTM TikTok Method | Chrome | 2026-06-17 | 7,000 (11-07 climbed from 6k) | Rides the "method" buzzword in its name. Public sources don't show what it changes. |
| CompressBase / Maska Method | Chrome+Firefox | 2026-03-27 | 4,000;Firefox 176 | Earlier. Built by French creator maskafr, later renamed CompressBase. |
| FLOWTIK 120 FPS | Chrome | 2026-05-16 | 3,000 | Lists in-app purchases, pitches local processing. |
| TikoPro Uploader | Chrome | 2026-07-29 | 3,000 | Binds accounts through Telegram. |
| Kryp FPS Method, 60FPS TIKTOK Uploder, Void Enhancer, Upload120, VK Upload Patcher and others. | Chrome | 2026-04 to 11 | Dozens to hundreds | Long-tail copycats. VK Upload Patcher 11-04 launched late. |
| "Methods" like RTX Fury, itzcrih, Zilem, Fenn, midx. | Web / Discord | 2025–2026 | Not verified | Web patches with tiered limits, no extension (per shortsync's 2026-11 roundup). |
| ut0ku/120fps-method, BastienGimbert/tiktok-quality | Open source | 2025-09 / 2026-06 | 44 / 29 star | Free, but you run it yourself. High barrier to entry. |
| TikTok's official "allow high-quality uploads" toggle. | Big-company features | Always present | All users | Official and free, but edit creators widely feel it's not enough. The API docs cap it at 60fps. |
Bottom line: there are many competitors, most launched around the same time as TikQuick (2026-03 to 07), and the technical differences are small. TikQuick isn't the biggest on Chrome (Editing Enhancer has 20k), but it's one of the most complete players, with an account system, extension, web patch and developer API.
3. Growth tactics (with evidence)
- Caption watermark loop (core, confirmed in source): inject.js hardcodes
b="Quality Upload Method -> https://tikquick.online/ #tikquickmethod". When intercepting TikTok Studio's publish request, the extension appends this line tosingle_post_req_list[].single_post_feature_info.textandmarkup_text, and adds a clickable #tikquickmethod hashtag totext_extra. The popup toggle reads "Caption Watermark – Keep this on to support TikQuick!" and is on by default (popup.htmlid="caption-watermark-toggle" checked). It's the same move as Hotmail's "Get your free email" signature or the "Sent from my iPhone" line. Result: among the 29 TikHub results for "tikquick", about 20 captions carry this exact line (@z3._.r0x 13k followers, @nexova783 27k followers 12k views, @poidih 10k followers, and others), all recent videos from 10-November. Edit-account audiences are edit accounts themselves. They see "great quality", then the link in the caption, and click through. - Creators make tutorials on their own: @lor_naya (5k followers) posted "HOW TO UPLOAD FULL QUALITY VIDEOS…" with 104k views 2026-08-17; @_.kawaii__ posted "My quality tutorial!" with 105k views 2026-09-03; @tamimae67 "4k120fps quality method tutorial II tikquick" got 5,220 views. On TikTok, the #tikquick hashtag has 241 videos and 2.23M views, and #tikquickonline has 260k views (TikHub hashtag search). In edit circles, "what's your method?" is a question people keep asking in comments, so tutorial content gets traffic on its own.
- Developer's own kickstart: @immike.__'s May tutorial got 45k views and was the early seed.
- Multi-store listings: live on Chrome, Edge, Firefox (including the Android version) and Opera.
- Telegram partnership funnel: the web version shows "PARTNER: In partnership with Editing News — +100MB upload limit". Users must subscribe to the @editingnews channel and get an ID from a bot to unlock 400MB. This is a traffic swap: TikQuick brings Editing News subscribers and gets partnership revenue (terms unverified).
- Not found: paid ads, X discussion (x-radar: 0 posts in 180 days), press coverage, Reddit main threads. Reddit only has generic "is upload method a scam" discussions.
4. Where the money comes from
The site says "Completely free" and the extension has no in-app purchases. Monetization looks light for now: ① a crypto donation page (USDT / BTC / ETH / SOL / XMR / DOGE); ② partner ad space from Editing News; ③ a developer API with "Fresh keys 10,000 uses, Premium keys unlimited", which implies a Premium tier, though no public price was found; ④ higher limits when logged in (300MB up to 1500MB, plus Optimize encoding servers), laying groundwork for paid tiers. Server nodes in France-02, LasVegas-01 and Utah-01 (BetterStack status page) aren't cheap to run. Revenue is not public, and TrustMRR doesn't list it.
5. Why it took off
- The pain point is consensus in edit circles: TikTok compresses video, and edit makers care most about "sharp + high framerate". "Method" has become its own subculture, with people asking each other which one they use.
- Timing: the niche broke out together in the first half of 2026. TikQuick entered in May and caught the wave.
- The viral loop is built into the product: the default-on caption watermark turns every user into a distribution channel. Most similar extensions don't do this, and MASKA even markets itself with "No watermarks". This is the main reason TikQuick's account count (70k) is far above its store installs: many people arrive from video captions and use the web version.
- Low barrier: the official site hands out a web patch (works on phone and desktop), the extension is a toggle you switch on before uploading, and the sign-up is just "easy sign-up".
- Retention: clipping accounts post videos continuously, so they use it every time they publish. 520k processes / 70k accounts, about 7.5 uses per person on average.
6. Differentiation
Technically it's about the same as Maska, Kryp and RTX Fury (all modify the container / file header), and "quality" alone is hard to use to pull ahead of the others. The real difference is in the distribution design: ① a default caption watermark with a live topic, which spreads on its own; ② a web version plus an extension, two entry points, so phone users can use it too; ③ two patch methods (Orion / Luna), a live status page and a developer API, which make it look more "legit". What actually made it take off among the differentiators is the watermark loop, not the patch effect.
7. Visibility and copycats
- It only circulates in small editing circles. Nobody on X is talking about it, no media has covered it, and its revenue is not public. In the shortsync 2026-11 roundup of "upload methods," Maska, RTX Fury and itzcrih were named, but TikQuick was not mentioned.
- Copycats: the clone site tikquick.site recorded at recall no longer resolves (Jina, 2026-11-06). Copycats across the category (WTM, Upload120, VK Upload Patcher, etc.) keep appearing, but they are copying the category; there's no evidence any of them specifically copied TikQuick.
8. What others can learn
- "Attribution built into user output": if a tool's output gets published publicly (videos, images, documents, posts), default to adding an attribution or topic line that can be turned off, and frame the off-switch as "support us".
- Two entry points: the extension for heavy users, the web tool for phone and light users, with an account system connecting both.
- Find the "superstitious demand" in a subculture: clipping circles' obsession with a "method" has little to do with whether it's actually proven to work.
- Trade partner slots for traffic: cross-promote with Telegram channels in the scene.
9. Risks and open questions
- Entirely dependent on TikTok Studio's upload protocol. If TikTok changes a field, or bans accounts or topics carrying #tikquickmethod, it drops to zero. The code has
_tq_bannedlogic, showing it is already doing user bans or risk control. - No independent testing of whether the patch actually works. TikTok's official API states a max of 60fps; the open-source peer (vague-infinity) admits it can't get around transcoding.
- Unverified: how many of the 70k accounts are active users, how the Premium API is priced, and the revenue split with Editing News.
- Also unknown: whether a caption watermark helps or gets demoted by TikTok's recommendation system.
