ByteDance gives away Seedance videos for free on Dola; a batch plugin hit 7 weeks and 5,000 users, then stalled

What it is A Chrome sidebar extension that queues a batch of prompts for automatic submission on ByteDance's overseas AI assistant dola.com, generating Seedance videos and images in bulk and downloading them automatically.

Why it took off ByteDance gives away top-tier video models for free on Dola, and creators in South and Southeast Asia who monetize video flooded in following tutorials. The developer shipped within two weeks using an existing template, drew traffic from their own portfolio of 500k-user extensions, made the name a search term, and built momentum with one in-house tutorial and a batch of concentrated reviews.

CHow you could follow this Don't build another batch-queue plugin for Dola; do the opposite: when a new free AI generation site hits a tutorial wave, first read the comments to see where users get stuck (here: the 30-second limit, watermarks, quotas), put removing the duration cap, stitching long videos, and watermark-free downloads on the first screen, and give mid-tier YouTube creators who take promotion commissions a commission link.

C grade: Dola batch tools already number five or six with no technical barrier; even with a portfolio backing it, it only reached 4,000 and has since declined. Users' real pain points are quotas, duration, and watermarks, and the switches are in ByteDance's hands. The lesson to take is "find the bottleneck first"; following this one isn't worth it. Almost no one knows about it yet

4,000 users · rating 5.0 (30)

ByteDance's overseas AI assistant Dola gives out free Seedance 2.0 / 2.5 video credits every day, and creators in South and Southeast Asia on YouTube followed up with a wave of "unlimited free video" tutorials. Vietnamese dev Truong Nguyen took an existing batch template, adapted it to dola.com, and listed "Dola Automation" in Aug 24. It hit 5,000 users by Oct 21, then dropped back to 4,000 and stayed there. The same person's sister extension on other sites has 50k to 100k users. This piece covers what got it going, why it only reached 4,000, and what's actually worth taking from it: see clearly where users get stuck first.

A 77k-view tutorial, and it isn't the one attached to it

On Sep 12, 2026, the YouTube channel JD WEEKLY posted "Dola AI + Seedance 2.5 30 Sec Video Tutorial | USA New Top Viral Niches & Facebook Monetization 2026". As of 11-06 it had 77,594 views and 1,471 likes. The title makes the audience clear: people who want to use free AI video to monetize on Facebook. The three links in the description are cutt.ly short links pointing to promo pages for tools like "30-second video maker", "video watermark remover", and "background remover".

Around the same month, these videos kept coming one after another: Automation Xpert 9-18 "Unlock a SECRET Way to Create UNLIMITED AI Videos for FREE with Seedance 2.5" with 33,289 views, Levi's AI 10-13 "How to Use Seedance 2.5 for FREE (Unlimited 30-Sec AI Videos!)" with 46,063 views, plus a long list of Hindi, Urdu, Bengali and Telugu channels (YouTube view counts, 11-06). They're all selling the same thing: a top-tier video model for free, generating lots of clips a day.

This traffic hit Dola Automation, but almost no one in the tutorials mentions it. Put the two together and you have this plugin's story.

Where the demand comes from: top video models, free on Dola

Dola is ByteDance's overseas AI assistant. It was renamed from Cici in 2025 November. According to Pandaily, around the 2026 Lunar New Year its DAU passed 10M, growing fastest in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Mexico. Seedance is ByteDance's own video model. Other platforms charge per second, but on Dola's web version it comes with a free daily quota. Jul 10: Backlash's video "FREE UNLIMITED Seedance 2.0 — No Subscription Required" (14,598 views) did the math: up to 240 videos a month for $0. In early August, Seedance 2.5 (which can make 30-second videos) also came to Dola.

ByteDance is pushing it too. The dola.com link in the description of BeTech's 8-14 Dola tutorial (41,814 views) carries utm_medium=influencer and a campaign ID from August. It looks like ByteDance paid a creator (inferred).

The problem is that Dola's web interface takes one prompt at a time, and you download each result by hand. People who want to make dozens of videos a day need a tool that can queue jobs.

How it caught the wave

Truong Nguyen has a template called "X Automation - Auto X on X.com" that he has already used on a dozen or more sites: Grok, Google Flow, Meta, Vibes, Gemini, Qwen, and others. You paste a list of prompts into the sidebar, and it submits them automatically with random delays and downloads everything into project folders. The Dola version is just the same tool on another site. It launched within two weeks of Seedance 2.5 arriving on Dola, and in September it landed right when tutorials were at their peak.

User count (from third-party extension stats; the store gives only a rough figure):

DateusersScore

09-202,00023
10-043,00025
10-134,00026
10-215,000 (peak)27
10-29 to 11-064,00027 → 30

Third-party tutorials don't link to it, so its users come mainly from four places:

  • Its own lineup. Of the 12 "related extensions" on its store page, 9 are from the same developer (Flow 100k, Meta 70k, Vibes 50k, ...). Together the sibling plugins have about 500k users and send traffic to each other. This is its most reliable entry point.
  • The name is the search term. People who watch a tutorial and then search the store for "dola automation" or "dola extension" land on the one with the most exact name (inferred; there is no search volume data).
  • Self-shot tutorial. The developer's channel posted "Dola Automation User Guide" 10-02. It got 11,937 views and only 16 likes, a like rate of about 0.13%, where similar tutorials usually run 1–3%. That suggests paid promotion (inferred). It climbed from 3,000 to 4,000 between 10-04 and 10-13, and the timing lines up.
  • A concentrated batch of good reviews. From Sep 8 to 20, the rating count went from 1 to 23 while the user count stayed at 1,000–2,000. Most store reviews cluster between September 16 and 25 and read "Very easy to use", "Works as advertised", "Simple and useful. No complaints so far", with names that look randomly generated. Among similar plugins that typically sit at 3.0–3.75 stars, a 5.0 stands out. Whether it was solicited can't be confirmed.

Its store description also lists more than 11 languages, and the official site has Hindi and Arabic. Both target the audience of the tutorial wave.

Where the money comes from

The store page has no in-app purchases. The money is outside the extension: the developer's site kylenguyen.me sells a bundle subscription at $3 a month, $7 for three months, or $25 a year, which unlocks all his plugins. The page says these plugins were "100% free before, now paid". The Grok version's guide includes "log in to check your plan and daily usage", and the Dola version probably works the same way, with a free quota plus a subscription. But how the limits are set and how many people pay haven't been published. At these prices, a plugin with 4,000 users contributes little revenue on its own. Its value is as one more entry point into the whole lineup (inferred).

Why it stalled at 4,000

The best clue is a review. On Nov 2, a user named Roshan Ali gave it 5 stars and wrote:

"Hello Dola AI Support Team, I am having trouble using Dola AI because it frequently shows me a "High Demand" message……"

He thought he was writing to Dola's official support, complaining about peak-hour queues. This sentence shows two things. The pain point users hit is Dola's quota and queueing, not "manually pasting prompts is tedious". And since a single account's free quota is limited anyway, even a convenient queueing tool can't add many videos.

Now look again at what the tutorials promote: getting around the 30-second limit, stitching longer videos, removing watermarks, rotating accounts. The Automation Xpert video even demonstrates having Dola's built-in AI agent take 10 prompts at once and retry failures on its own. Batch processing is something the platform can roughly do itself.

The competitors also target the pain points more sharply:

ProductLaunchedScaleWhat it targets

Dola Seedance Studio8-29291 usersVietnamese UI, licenses by monthly or lifetime plan

Others also sell or open-source ready-made code that wraps Dola sessions into a video API. There's no technical barrier here.

It dropped a tier after Oct 21. This may be linked to Dola tightening quotas and more peak-hour queues, or the tutorial hype may have faded. I haven't verified which.

If it were you

C: Worth learning from, but not worth chasing this one. Five or six companies already offer batch queueing on Dola, and the features are easy to copy. Even with its 500k-user lineup behind it, this plugin only reached 4,000. What users really get stuck on is quota, duration, and watermarks, and ByteDance controls those switches.

Who it's for: People who already have a template for "batch tools on AI generation sites" and can reskin and ship it on a new site within two weeks. What you should learn from this one is its cautionary lesson, not the product itself.

Who it's not for: Anyone starting from zero who wants to build another batch plugin for Dola, or anyone hoping one plugin will bring in steady subscription revenue.

How to do it: Watch sites where big companies give away top models for free to win users (Dola, vibes.ai, that kind). Before you launch on a new site, check its YouTube tutorial section and comments to see what people complain about. On Dola the answers were "30 seconds isn't enough", "there's a watermark", and "High Demand". So the first screen should lead with "stitch long videos / watermark-free download / queue tomorrow when the quota runs out", and batching should be a secondary feature. Bypass 30s launched a month later and still got 1,000 users, because it targeted a pain point.

How to get users: The tutorial creators (mid-tier channels in Hindi, Urdu, and Bengali) all have affiliate short links in their descriptions, which suggests they take commissions. A link that pays them a commission works better than making your own videos. Name the product with words users actually search for, and if you have other plugins, let them send traffic to each other.

When to be early: The window for this round on Dola has mostly closed. Tutorials peaked from 9 to October, and the plugin had already fallen from its high. The next window opens two or three weeks after a site starts giving models away for free and the first "FREE UNLIMITED" videos show up on YouTube.

What would mean the read was wrong: (1) One batch plugin on Dola has passed 20k users, which means batching is real demand and this particular product just wasn't done well. (2) ByteDance loosens Dola's free quota or opens longer videos, and the queueing value comes back. (3) Duration-bypass and watermark plugins also stalled around a thousand users, which suggests the problem is that Dola users don't want to install plugins at all, not that the pain point was picked wrong.

One line for anyone building plugins: Traffic arrives first, so check where people get stuck. People stuck on quota and duration won't install your plugin just to save a few clicks.

Bottom line

Dola is ByteDance's overseas AI assistant (formerly Cici, renamed in 2025-11), giving free daily Seedance 2.0 / 2.5 video credits. 2026 7–October, creators in South and Southeast Asia pushed a wave of YouTube tutorials on "free unlimited Seedance video generation on Dola." A developer ported batch-automation templates already validated on Grok, Flow and Meta to dola.com, launched in Aug 24, held the store-related slots with a network of their own apps, went after search with plain names, made YouTube tutorials themselves, and added a round of concentrated reviews. In about 7 weeks it hit 4,000–5,000 users. Then it stalled: it peaked at 21 5,000 in Oct, then fell back to 29 4,000 by Oct. It was a quick sprint, an order of magnitude smaller than the same developer's sibling extensions (50k–100k). The reason: the hottest demand in this niche is "bypass the 30-second limit / unlimited credits / remove watermark," not batch queuing, and the tutorial creators mostly promoted other tools.

Key points:

  • In early September it added roughly 60–70 users a day; from late September to mid October it stepped up about every 10 days, then fell back after peaking in October 21. The recall card says it is "still acquiring new users", based on review count going from 6 to 27 over 30 days; but the user count was flat over that stretch and one tier below the peak.
  • Reviews appeared in clusters: from September 8 to September 20, the review count rose from 1 to 23 while concurrent users were only 1,000–2,000 (a review rate above 1%; the same developer's Vibes Automation had 50k users and 56 reviews, about 0.1%). On the store review page this batch was all left between September 16 and 25, and the content is generic ("Very easy to use", "Works as advertised", "Simple and useful. No complaints so far"), with sign-offs that look randomly chosen (Walker House, Felix Buri, Xander Oswald, Lena Usup). The newest one (Roshan Ali, 11-02) is actually complaining to "Dola AI customer service" about High Demand while giving 5 stars, suggesting some users took it for the official product. Likely incentivized reviews, but unconfirmed (Chrome Web Store review page, read via r.jina.ai).

Paid

  • The store has no in-app purchases checked, and the description has no paid wording (chromestore: in_app_purchases = False, paid_words empty).
  • The official site kylenguyen.me states "these extensions were 100% free, now moving to paid": 1 month $3, 3 months $7, 1 year $25, with one subscription covering all extensions (kylenguyen.me/pricing). The same developer's Grok version guide says "Plan Management: log in to check your plan and daily prompt usage" (GitHub trgkyle/grok-automation-user-guide). So the Dola version is likely also free credits plus a bundle subscription, but exactly how it gates credits on Dola has not been verified.

2. Background: why Dola, and why now

  • What Dola is: ByteDance's overseas AI assistant (package com.larus.wolf). It was renamed from Cici to Dola in November 2025 (seen across G2 / aiidelist / avestro and more). Around the Spring Festival of 2026 its DAU passed 10M, growing fast in Indonesia, Malaysia and Mexico (Pandaily; Medium "Inside Doubao"). ByteDance is buying paid acquisition for it: admanage.ai shows "Dola: Formerly Cici" running 5,383 ads on Meta since 2025-07.
  • Free Seedance: the Dola web version gives free daily Seedance 2.0 video credits. A YouTube video by Backlash 2026-07-10, "FREE UNLIMITED Seedance 2.0", says "up to 240 videos a month, $0", with 14,598 views. Seedance 2.5 (30-second videos) first launched in July 31 on ByteDance's own Dreamina / Jimeng / Doubao Pro (domoai blog), and in August appeared on Dola (The Metaverse Guy 2026-08-07 "Dola AI App … Seedance 2.5", 23,923 views). A top video model that other platforms charge for per second is free daily on Dola, and that is the source of the demand.
  • YouTube tutorial wave (YouTube Data API, 2026-11-06 readings, selected):
    • Malva AI 06-10 "Seedance 2.0 Is The Best AI Video Tool — Here's How To Use It Free" 127,134 views
    • BeTech 08-14 "Dola AI Tutorial … Seedance 2.5" 41,814
    • JD WEEKLY 09-12 "Dola AI + Seedance 2.5 30 Sec Video Tutorial | USA New Top Viral Niches & Facebook Monetization" 77,568
    • Automation Xpert 09-18 "UNLIMITED AI Videos for FREE with Seedance 2.5" 33,289
    • Ai Lockup 09-27 26,751;Ai Spoiler 09-29 28,816;Levi's AI 10-13 46,052
    • There are also Earnify Studio, MNS Graphix, Tech Gyan GT, AI Telugu Creations, Technical Muhammad Ali and others. Many are Hindi / Urdu / Bengali / Telugu channels on "making money with Facebook / YouTube videos." This crowd wants mass video production, and batch automation fits that exactly. The extension launched Aug 24, and it grew fastest in September, which lines up with the tutorial wave peaking 9–October.

Conclusion: it is not the first automation tool on Dola (Tayyab X Shoaib came two weeks earlier), nor the most complete (Extino is heavier). In the "Dola batch automation" niche on the Chrome Web Store it has the most users in our library, but among all Dola-related extensions it ranks in the middle (watermark-removal ones have 7,000–10,000 users).

4. Where users come from

  1. Timing / platform event: the Dola free Seedance 2.5 tutorial wave (confirmed). Listing date (08-24) came more than two weeks after Seedance 2.5 reached Dola (around 08-07); September rose fastest, right when tutorials were most dense.
  2. Own portfolio + store related slots (confirmed). Of the 12 related extensions on its detail page, 9 are the developer's own (Gemini, Qwen, Muse, Meta 70k, Vibes 50k, Flow 100k, Seedance, Canva, ChatGPT); conversely, 13 extensions list it in their related slots, 8 of them the developer's own (chromestore related table). Sibling extensions add up to about 500k users, its most stable traffic source.
  3. Generic name captures search (inferred). The name "Dola Automation - Auto Dola on Dola.com" is itself the search term. Most third-party tutorials don't link to it (of the 13 spot-checked, only the developer's own video has a direct link), so people who watch a video and then search the store for "dola automation / dola extension" land here. No search volume data, unconfirmed.
  4. Developer's own YouTube (confirmed video; paid promotion unconfirmed). Truong Nguyen | AI Automation Tools 2026-10-02 "Dola Automation User Guide", 11,937 views with only 16 likes, a like rate of about 0.13%, far below the 1–3% of comparable tutorials. That looks like paid promotion (the same shape shows up in reports on the developer's other products). It is not in the googleads library, so this is inference. Its rise from 3,000 to 4,000 between 10-04 and 10-13 lines up with it.
  5. Incentivized reviews (unconfirmed). Daily ratings from September 9–20 went from 1 to 23, with generic reviews clustered on September 16–25, see above. The high score makes it look like the most credible option among extensions in the 3.0–3.75 range.
  6. Multilingual (confirmed). The listing covers 11+ languages, including Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean and Japanese; the official site has 8 languages, including Hindi and Arabic. It targets creators in South and Southeast Asia.
  7. Channels not seen: x-radar search for "dola automation" and "kylenguyen" returned 0 posts over 90 days; no press coverage; no direct promotion found on TikTok or Reddit.

5. Why it broke out (and why it only reached 4,000)

Why it broke out:

  • There's a real, new need: top video models are free every day on Dola, and people making monetized videos want to use the free quota in bulk.
  • Zero-cost copy: the same "queue + random delay + auto-download + sidebar" code already ran on 15 other sites, and swapping selectors was enough, so it claimed the spot while demand was just starting.
  • Matrix cross-promotion and a plain, descriptive name made it findable without third-party recommendations.
  • A 5.0 rating (possibly incentivized) plus 11 languages made it look more legitimate than the other low-rated tools in its category.

Why it stopped at 4,000:

  • Tutorial creators pushed "bypass 30s / unlimited quota / no watermark" tricks and tools (Bypass 30s, cutt.ly affiliate links, Tayyab X Shoaib's licensed version, cookie-import methods for multiple accounts). Nobody pushed this one.
  • Dola's bottleneck is quota and the "High Demand" queue, not manual submission. Free quota per account is limited, which cuts the value of batch queuing. Reviews already complain about High Demand.
  • Rivals sell the pain point more directly (Bypass 30s), or ship heavier features (Extino).
  • It peaked in Oct 21 and then declined, possibly tied to Dola tightening quotas or peak-hour queues. Not verified.

6. Differentiation

It has no real feature differentiation: batch queuing, auto-download and chained mode are all in Extino and Tayyab X Shoaib's version, and Extino has more. What sets it apart is distribution: it belongs to a matrix of same-template extensions with about 500k users, holds the related-search positions, its name is the search term, and a bundle subscription at $3/month or $25/year lowers the barrier, with a rating of 5.0. Those are why it reached 4,000, not the product itself. But in this category distribution alone isn't enough: sibling extensions using "platform events + matrix" reached 50k–100k, while this one stalled at 4,000, which suggests it missed the pain points Dola users actually want solved (duration, quota, watermark).

7. Visibility and copycats

  • Visibility: few people know about it yet. x-radar shows 0 posts, no press coverage, revenue undisclosed; only one YouTube tutorial from the developer.
  • Copycats: already here. Extino uses nearly the same name ("Dola AI Automation"), and Dola Ai Bypass 30s Automation (09-25), Dola Seedance Studio (08-29) and duckspace's Dola downloader (09-17) have all listed, while kromio and blink.new have ready-made source code.

8. What to borrow

  • Look for sites where big companies trade free quota for users (Dola, vibes.ai, Meta AI): free top-tier models plus a wave of "free unlimited" YouTube tutorials = a ready-made demand.
  • One template covers every site, all named "X Automation - Auto X on X.com", each taking related-search spots from the others. A bundle at $3/month makes the marginal cost of acquiring users on each new site close to zero.
  • But first pin down the real bottleneck of the current site: Dola users are stuck on duration, quota and watermarks, not manual submission. A tool that attacks the bottleneck (Bypass 30s) gets more buzz even if it ships a month later. A new site's extension should put "bypass limits / stitch long videos / watermark-free download" front and center.
  • After listing, concentrate on collecting a batch of ratings in the first two weeks, then add one of your own tutorials (possibly paid) to lift conversions. This works well in the 1,000–5,000 tier.

9. Uncertain

  • Unknown: whether the Dola version requires a subscription, how much free quota it gets, and how many paying users it has.
  • Unverified: whether the developer's YouTube video was paid promotion (inferred), and whether the September reviews were incentivized (inferred).
  • Not obtained: user counts for the Extino version and the Tayyab X Shoaib version.
  • Unverified: why it fell from 5,000 to 4,000 in late October (did Dola tighten quotas? did tutorial interest fade?).
  • User counts are the store's rounded figures; changes only show up across tiers above 1,000.
