# Posted under an 4000-star legacy project: a tool for double-11 coin farming, 19 days to 148 stars

**What it is** A portable Windows tool: the PC connects to an Android phone over ADB and automatically completes the sign-in, browse-and-earn tasks for Taobao Gold Coins, Baba Farm, the double-11 promotion, Alipay, JD, and Xianyu. It has a web console and can run multiple phones at once.

**Why it took off** The double-11 promotion had started and the legacy project was still on the 618 version. It launched the next day and went to the legacy project's issue section to recruit users. People feared account bans from accessibility-based scripts on phones; it uses ADB, and packaged it as an exe that ordinary users could actually install.

**C** **How you could follow it** Stop building coin-farming tools and learn its playbook: find an old open source project whose users are still around but whose maintainer has fallen behind, build a portable package with a web UI as a modified version, and on the day you create the repo, post a "derivative project share" in the upstream issues, with a feature-by-feature comparison table.

Grade C: the upstream-issue referral plus productization playbook is worth learning, but this category gets crowded every year, the ceiling is a few hundred stars, demand only exists in the two double-11 and 618 windows, and platform risk controls could be upgraded at any time, so copying it isn't a great bet. Word spread in small circles

MiaoTask is a small Windows tool that uses a PC to remote-control an Android phone and automatically completes Taobao Gold Coin, Baba Farm, Alipay, JD, and Xianyu check-in and browse tasks. Double-click the exe and it runs, with a web console. The author is a new account with only 2 followers. They created the repo the day after the double-11 promotion began and, that same day, posted a "derivative project share" in the issues of tmall-miao, an older project in the same space. By 11-06 it had 148 stars, while the 4000-star legacy project gained only 13 over the same period. It didn't open a new category. It won on timing, entry point, and "ordinary people can install it." Below: what it is, where the stars came from, why this one, and whether this path is worth taking.

### One issue: "Thanks to the original author!"

> "Thanks to the original author! I built an independently maintained double-11 modified version based on this project's `next` branch, shared for anyone who needs it."

Further down: "Provides a Windows x64 portable ZIP. Extract it fully and run the exe, no need to configure Python yourself," followed by a download link.

There was a reason to post here. tmall-miao is an established project that dates back to 2020, with 4000 stars. The people who come here want to automate Taobao tasks. In those days its latest release was still labeled 618, and the double-11 adaptation wasn't added until Oct 26 and 27. The Taobao and Tmall double-11 promotion kicked off on Oct 17, and coin racing and energy-earning tasks suddenly multiplied. Anyone looking upstream for a "double-11 version" would see this post.

The repo was later renamed MiaoTask (I couldn't find out exactly when).

### What it is

In one sentence: the PC connects to the Android phone over ADB, uses uiautomator2 to read the screen and runs offline OCR on the PC, then works through the "browse for 15 seconds to earn coins" tasks one by one.

- **Windows portable package** : extract, double-click the exe, no need to install Python, ADB, or OCR models. The phone connection has a web wizard, Wi-Fi pairing uses four boxes for the IP, and it auto-detects MuMu emulators.

- **Multi-device runs** : one web page manages several phones at once. Sub-accounts on the same phone run in a queue, with a daily cap on failures.

- **Activities update online** : the framework and each activity's script are separate. When an activity changes, you pull the new activity code without re-downloading the whole tool.

- Adapted so far: Taobao Gold Coins, Baba Farm, red envelope check-ins, the double-11 promotion, and Alipay monthly earnings. Later, code submitted by others added JD Dongdong Farm, the Xianyu coin treasure game, and AMD GPU acceleration.

### How the stars came in, day by day

| Date | star | What happened |
|---|---|---|
| 10-18 | 0 | Repo created; issue #465 posted upstream that same day |
| 10-22 | 20 | Upstream referral plus GitHub search |
| 10-29 | 40 | A Chinese source-code repost site republished "MiaoTask Taobao Double Eleven Assistant [Windows]" |
| 10-31 | 44 | Steady, two or three a day |
| 11-01 | 75 | Single-day +31, source not identified |
| 11-03 | 104 | +27, external contributors' code merged in batches; v0.2.0 added CUDA |
| 11-05 | 146 | Nearly a release every day (v0.2.1, v0.2.2) |
| 11-06 | 148 | Decline |

(GitHub daily star counts, 10-22 to 11-06.)

Over the same period (10-28 to 11-06), upstream tmall-miao went from 4041 to 4054, another double-11 legacy project, czl0325/coin11-tb, went from 678 to 701, and MiaoTask went from 36 to 148. Its new stars were more than 3 times the two legacy projects combined.

Beyond stars, there is another number: the 16 releases have been downloaded roughly 970 times in total (GitHub, 11-06). That is far more than the star count, suggesting people really are using it. But since every release means downloading again, actual users are probably noticeably fewer than this number (inference).

It never got a single recommendation. No posts about it on X, Bilibili, Xiaohongshu, V2EX, or in the media. Spread stayed inside small circles: upstream users, QQ groups the creator set up, reposting sites. Which group or post drove the early-November spike, we can't trace.

### Why this one

This category is nothing new. Every year around the double-11 and 618 promotions, a batch of Taobao task scripts appears on GitHub and then goes stale: JavisPeng/taojinbi with 1478 stars stopped in 2021; czj2369/jd_tb_auto and ZainCheung/helper-618, with 700 to over 1,000 stars, also stopped. why-au/taobao-task-automation, created the same day as MiaoTask, has only 3 stars to date. It worked because several factors stacked up:

**1. Timing.** Launch on day two of the tournament, before the big players catch up. Demand for this kind of thing peaks in the 11 double-season month, more than any other time of year.

**2. It caught the "fear of bans" concern.** In Oct 19, someone on linux.do posted "Any recommendations for an automated Taobao coin script?" It got 1.3k views. The replies were telling: "Risk control is very strict, easy to get your account banned"; "Using accessibility mode seems to get you banned immediately (task acquisition 300 energy turns directly into 1)"; another said they'd been banned "for half a year already, still not resolved, always 1." The consensus was that Taobao can detect accessibility-based scripts on phones (AutoJS, Hamibot, and the like) but cannot detect ADB debugging. MiaoTask uses ADB, installs nothing on the phone, and does screenshots and recognition on the PC. That said, this route already existed upstream and in coin11-tb. It didn't invent it.

**3. Lowest barrier to entry.** Similar projects' READMEs usually say "Python 3.8+, configure ADB yourself, run from cmd." For an ordinary person who just wants free coins, double-clicking an exe plus a web wizard is the difference between installing it and not.

**4. It serves people with many accounts.** People farming promotions often have several phones and several accounts. Upstream could only run one device at a time. MiaoTask manages multiple devices from one page.

**5. It looks like a product.** It has a hand-drawn overview diagram, screenshots, a live demo page, a risk disclosure, architecture docs, and an "acknowledgements and comparison" table comparing it feature by feature with upstream, which makes it easy for upstream users to switch. The docs show clear signs of AI assistance, but that's also what makes it look like a proper tool among a pile of scripts.

**6. Frequent releases, and pulling people in to contribute.** Activities are separate from the framework, so someone who wants to add an activity doesn't have to touch core code. In early November, the JD, Xianyu, and AMD acceleration additions were submitted by external contributors, and the author credited them by name in the release notes every time. It now has 8 contributors.

### Things to watch

- **It may stop once the season ends.** The double-11 promotion ends in 11-11. Taobao Gold Coins, Baba Farm, and JD Farm run all year, so it might keep a small group of regular users, or it might go stale after the season like the projects before it.

- **The platform is on the other side.** These tasks are fundamentally the platform trading browse time for rewards, and automating them sits on the edge of the rules. The author writes in the docs that "random scrolling does not guarantee avoiding risk control." If Taobao starts detecting ADB, this path narrows.

- **The exe carries security risk.** Several of the 19 forks come from accounts registered at the end of October with 0 followers, which looks like accounts created specifically to fork popular repos for poisoning. Repost sites are also repackaging and redistributing it. Users of any exe in this category should be wary.

### If it were you

**Grade C: a very useful cold-start playbook, but copying it to build a coin-farming tool isn't a great bet.** This category gets crowded every year, the ceiling is a few hundred stars, it's tied to the two double-11 and 618 windows, and the platform could change its risk controls at any time. What's really worth taking away is the method for earning stars, applied somewhere else.

**Who it's for** : developers who can package command-line scripts as an "exe + web UI," and people who spot an old open source project that has stopped being maintained, or a gap where the project hasn't kept up with a new version or season.

**Who it's not for** : anyone aiming for a thousand-plus stars (this category has peaked at about 4k, and that took five or six years); anyone who doesn't want to touch platform rules in a gray zone; anyone without the energy to ship a release every day during the campaign.

**How to do it, best to worst:**

1. **Switch scenes, copy the playbook** : find an old project with a few thousand stars, still has users, but whose author has stopped updating or can't keep up (a tool that broke after an app redesign, a script that doesn't run on a new system major version), and build a version that an ordinary person can actually install: a portable pack, a web UI, multi-instance, rule packs updatable online.

2. **If you stay in this category, do what it doesn't do well** : HarmonyOS (upstream supports HDC, MiaoTask mainly verified on Android), a macOS version, or a solution that doesn't need a computer at all; ship on the first day of the 2027 618 campaign.

3. **Build the rule-pack layer** : once the framework is separated from the campaign, the campaign scripts themselves become something others can contribute and earn recognition for on their own.

**How to get users** : on the day you create the repo, post a "derivative project share" in the upstream's issue section, open by thanking the original author, and spell out what you added and where to download it; put a feature-by-feature comparison table against upstream in the README. Then set up a QQ group, ship a release every day during the campaign, and name the contributors each time.

**When is "before"** : tools tied to a campaign have to go live within a few days of its start. The double 11 wave is already over; the next one is 2027 618, starting around mid-to-late May. The scene-switching approach isn't bound by season; it depends on how long the gap you found stays empty.

**What it means if you misread it:** ① You posted in the upstream issue tracker and it's still under 20 stars two weeks later, so the upstream users have scattered, or the author deleted the post; ② if MiaoTask itself goes quiet and its star count stalls after the double 11, the category can't hold up even for a quarter and you should switch scenarios; ③ the reverse holds too: if it's still climbing after the season and contributors keep adding campaigns, then the year-round demand for "free stuff hunting" is bigger than estimated here, and the 2nd approach is worth starting on earlier.

## Why MiaoTask (h0ll0w-AkuZr0guY/MiaoTask) could take off

> Channel: GitHub. Research date 2026-11-06. Data from our github database (repo_day), the GitHub API (real-time as of that day), Jina / Exa / Brave search, and the original linux.do post.

### One line

It's a Windows portable tool that runs on a computer, remote-controls an Android phone via ADB + uiautomator2, and automatically completes the "check in, browse, claim coins" tasks on Taobao, Alipay, JD, and Xianyu. It comes with a local web console. It launched the day after the double 11 energy-earning campaign started, using the issue section of the veteran project tmall-miao (4k stars) as its launchpad. Back then, accessibility-based Android scripts (AutoJS / Hamibot) were widely getting accounts banned, and the old projects were still stuck on 618 versions. MiaoTask caught this seasonal demand with "double-click the exe to run, multi-device in parallel, activities updatable online." Its stars come from the double 11 seasonal traffic, not from a long-term category.

### 1. Basic data

- 2026-10-18 created the repo, originally named `tmall-miao-double11`, later renamed MiaoTask (exact rename date unverified; kaiyuanbang.cn indexed pages under both names). The author account was registered 2025-12, with 29 repos, the rest small AI/academic projects with 0–2 stars each and 2 followers, so no real personal influence (GitHub API).

- Stars: 10-22 on 20,10-31, 44,11-01 on 75 (+31 that day), 11-03 on 104,11-05, 146,11-06 on 148 (github database repo_day). gain_7d is 106; the first 7 days only had 22 (data card).

- Same-period comparison (github database, 10-28→11-06): MonsterNone/tmall-miao 4041→4054 (+13), czl0325/coin11-tb 678→701 (+23), MiaoTask 36→148 (+112). In the same seasonal demand, it gained more than 3 times the new stars of those two older projects combined.

- Total release downloads about 970, spread across 16 versions (GitHub API, 11-06). That number is far higher than the stars, which suggests people really downloaded and used it.

- Community: 8 contributors (the author with 114 commits, J202407 with 16, ashen0116 with 8 ...). Others' PRs added features like JD farm, Xianyu coin game, AMD DirectML inference, and device persistence, and the author separately set up a QQ group 1103989184.

- A total of 19 forks, among which accounts like canvasmalenahaz, wandererbzrv, justatoomey95 were all registered between 10-25 and 10-27, with 0 followers and 4–5 repos each, looking very much like spam or sabotage accounts that fork rising repos. So the recall reason "fork/star ratio of 13% shows real deployment" should be discounted; the number of people who actually modified the code is roughly 7–8.

### 2. Competitors

| Name | Form | Launched | Scale | How it differs from MiaoTask |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MonsterNone/tmall-miao | Open source (PC + uiautomator2/hmdriver2, originally AutoJS) | 2020-05 | 4054 star / 487 fork | It's MiaoTask's upstream. The README says "the AutoJS version is too easy to detect and development has stopped," the current version is still tagged 20260618; it only got a commit to adapt for double 11 10-26/27. Command-line menu, runs one device at a time; supports HarmonyOS HDC |
| czl0325/coin11-tb | Open source (uiautomator2 script) | 2024-10 | 701 star | Also covers double 11 coins, Taobao Coin, Baba Farm, Xianyu, and Alipay, and is still being updated (11-05 still has commits). But it's a script form: you configure Python yourself, there's no GUI, and no multi-device support. MiaoTask's Taobao daily flow drew on it |
| JavisPeng/taojinbi | Open source AutoJS | 2020-12 | 1478 star | Stopped updating since 2021; uses the accessibility route, easy to detect |
| czj2369/jd_tb_auto, ZainCheung/helper-618, etc. | Open source AutoJS | 2020 | 700–1400 star | All are older-generation accessibility scripts that stopped updating long ago |
| Yingyi11/coin11, Doplars/TaobaoCoinAssistant (Shizuku+OCR), why-au/taobao-task-automation | Open source | 2025-10 / 2026-08 / 2026-10-18 | 3–43 star | Similar small projects. why-au was created the same day as MiaoTask and has only 3 stars |
| Hamibot script market "Taobao check-in assistant" | Android app plus script market | long-standing | Not verified | Runs directly on the phone without a computer, but goes through accessibility; someone on linux.do said "618 used it for a while without getting banned" |
| Domestic "activity assistant" apps like Xinchangxiang Assistant | Android app (distributed via reposts) | long-standing | Repost sites show 1.9K+ views | Closed-source app, distributed through gray channels |
| tasku.top Taobao Coin mutual-help site | Web | Not verified | Not verified | Solves mutual-help (boost) tasks, does no automation |
| Big-company features | — | — | — | Taobao/Alipay officially provide no task automation. This play is itself the platform's "browsing time for rewards" model, and the platform is on the opposing side |

Conclusion: this category is extremely crowded; every year around double 11 and 618, a batch of scripts pops up and then stops updating. MiaoTask didn't open a new category; it made "the one in this old category that's best to install and best to use this season."

### 3. Where users came from (growth tactics)

1. **Posted in the upstream's issue section (confirmed).** On the day the repo was created (10-18), the author posted issue #4 "[Derivative project share] Double 465 adapted version: web console and Windows portable pack" in tmall-miao (11k stars, whose users are exactly this crowd), linking the repo and the portable download directly (original text via GitHub API). At that time upstream was still on the 618 version, so anyone coming to tmall-miao for the double 11 version would see this post. This was its earliest and most targeted entry point. The README also has a "Acknowledgments and comparison" table comparing features item by item against upstream, to make it easy for people coming from upstream to switch.

2. **Search demand during the double 11 campaign (confirmed).** The Tmall double 11 10-17 officially started (ebrun 2026-09-22), with lots of Taobao Coin racing and energy-earning tasks. A linux.do post "Any recommended scripts for automating Taobao Coin?" 10-19 went up, with 1.3k views and 34 likes, as people asked for scripts that don't get accounts banned (linux.do/t/topic/3044464). Searching GitHub for "Baba Farm" and "double 11 Taobao tasks," MiaoTask already ranked in the top 8 (GitHub search API, 11-06).

3. **Passive distribution via reposts and aggregators (confirmed; traffic volume unknown).** The Xinchangxiang source site 10-29 reposted "MiaoTask | Taobao Double 11 Assistant [Win version]" and followed it with updates up to v0.2.2 (xcxymw.com/3469.html; the image upload time is 2026-10-29). The AI-generated open-source ranking pages kaiyuanbang.cn, relatedrepos, and repositorystats also indexed it.

4. **QQ group and contributors form a loop (confirmed).** After 11-02, external PRs poured in (JD, Xianyu, AMD GPUs), and the author shipped a version almost daily (11-01 v0.1.5,11-03 v0.2.0 added CUDA, 11-04 v0.2.1,11-05 v0.2.2). Each release named the contributors in RELEASES. The star acceleration from 11-01 to 11-05 (+31, +27, +22, +20) overlapped with the release tempo and the final sprint of the double 11 campaign.

5. **No channel found.** On X (x-radar, 30 days, 0 posts), Bilibili, Xiaohongshu, V2EX, and the press, we found no posts or coverage about it. Someone on linux.do said "posting a GitHub link seems to also require an open-source self-promo," but we didn't find a self-promo thread for MiaoTask either. 11-01 Where the +31 that day came from, we couldn't find out.

### 4. Why it took off

- **The timing was seasonal.** The double 11 campaign period is the most demand-concentrated month of the year, and upstream's 4k-star project hadn't caught up, so MiaoTask filled the gap on day 1 after the campaign started.

- **The technical route hit the risk-control pain point.** The consensus on linux.do was "using accessibility mode gets your account banned outright (tasks 300, energy turns into 1)" and "Taobao detects accessibility and bans accounts, but it can't detect ADB debugging" (linux.do/t/topic/3044464). MiaoTask uses ADB + uiautomator2, running screenshots and OCR on the computer and installing no accessibility app like AutoJS on the phone, which directly addresses that concern. However, the ADB route was already used by tmall-miao and coin11-tb, so it isn't unique to MiaoTask.

- **Lowest barrier to entry.** Unzip and double-click the exe. No Python, ADB, or OCR model to install. A web wizard handles phone connection, and Wi-Fi pairing is split into four steps for entering the IP. It auto-detects MuMu emulators. Similar scripts require "Python3.8+, configure ADB yourself, run from cmd." For ordinary users who just want the coins, that difference is decisive.

- **Multi-device and alt accounts.** People who farm promotions often run several phones, accounts, or emulators. One web panel can manage multiple devices in parallel, run alt accounts in sequence, and set a daily failure budget. The upstream "one device per process" design can't do this.

- **Framework and campaigns are separate, with online updates.** When a campaign changes, you pull the campaign source from the repo's main branch without re-downloading the framework. Campaign rules change every week, and this design is what keeps the tool usable through the double-11 finish. It also leaves room for outside contributors to add campaigns (JD and Xianyu were added this way).

- **Docs far beyond the usual for this category.** There's a hand-drawn overview diagram, screenshots, a live demo page (GitHub Pages), risk and privacy notes, architecture, an API manual, and AGENTS.md. The author is in the "AI-assisted writing" camp on linux.do, and the docs show clear signs of AI help. Still, these docs make it look like a product rather than a script, which is rare in this category.

### 5. Differentiation, and whether it's the reason it took off

Competitors are all "scripts". MiaoTask is a "multi-device workbench with a web console and pluggable campaigns." Concretely, three things: a portable Windows package with a web GUI (low barrier), multi-device parallel runs and alt accounts (for multi-account users), and campaigns decoupled from the framework with online updates (keeping pace with changes). The recognition approach (UI tree + local OCR) and the ADB route are not unique to it. **These differences are one reason it took off, but timing and upstream traffic mattered too.** why-au/taobao-task-automation, created the same day, has only 3 stars. Timing alone wasn't enough; it needed the upstream issue section as an entry point, plus a form that ordinary people could use. Conversely, without the double-11 and the upstream going dormant, this productized packaging wouldn't have brought in this many stars.

### 6. How many people can see it

- No revenue involved. Open source and free, with no sign of monetization.

- No X accounts or media outlets have written about it. Spread happens mainly among tmall-miao users, QQ groups, and reposting sites, so it's **circulating in small circles** .

- Copycats and re-distribution: the Xinchangxiang source house is already repackaging and distributing it, and forks such as XuYang233 and jiang123574 are publishing their own builds (XuYang233/MiaoTask has a v0.2.3 release). Some forks show signs of tampering or spam accounts. Downloading exe files in this category carries security risk, so be careful.

### 7. Takeaways

- **Post a "derivative project" thread in the upstream issue or discussion section, with a feature comparison table.** This is a zero-cost cold start with the most accurate audience. It works best when the old project has gone dormant or hasn't kept up with a new season or version.

- **Package the script as an exe with a local web console.** For automation tools aimed at non-developers, the install barrier is the growth bottleneck.

- **Separate the framework from the "rule packs" and update them online.** When the things being automated change daily (campaigns, websites, apps), this keeps users around and gives the community a way to contribute.

- **Hit the seasonal peaks** (double-11, 618, Spring Festival red envelopes), launch within days of the campaign starting, then ship releases daily.

### 8. Uncertain

- I couldn't trace the specific sources (which group, site, or post) of the single-day +11-01 and 31 to 11-03 +27 jumps. The stargazers endpoint returns 404, so the time and account for each star can't be retrieved.

- The exact date the repo was renamed from tmall-miao-double11 to MiaoTask.
