# After "Claude killed my startup": Ryze AI turned Claude itself into its acquisition channel

**What it is** An AI ad-buying and SEO subscription tool from $89/month, also installable as a plugin in Claude and ChatGPT.

**Why it took off** Distribution, not product: a free open-source GitHub skills repo funnels people to paid connectors, nearly a thousand listicles and AI-facing recommendation pages went up in three months, and a 30% commission paid for 12 months gets others to write its reviews.

**C** **How you could play it** Don't enter AI ad management, a lane crowded with big tech and two dozen rivals; instead take its playbook (open-source skills repo + hosted connector + llms.txt + listicles + high commission) to a vertical SaaS niche that has no decent MCP connector yet.

Grade C: its own lane is already crowded, with Google, Meta and Anthropic all shipping free official tools, so following the product doesn't pay. What's valuable is the acquisition playbook, which can transfer to other fields, but others are already copying it, and the star-farming and fake-recommendation parts shouldn't be copied. Whispers in small circles

Global rank 196k · 90 days ago, top 1M+

A small San Francisco company that makes AI ad-buying tools lost most of its sales in February when a new Claude feature launched. 9 months later its global website ranking had risen 90-fold in 5 days. The product didn't get much stronger; the acquisition method changed: an open-source skills repo, connectors inside Claude, nearly a thousand listicles, and a 30% commission. Below, what it did, what's worth copying, what to avoid, and whether you should enter this lane.

### A post on X

On 2026 Feb 24, Ryze AI co-founder Ira Bodnar posted on X, opening with: "I woke up today and Claude killed my startup." She wrote that they built an AI that manages your Google and Meta ad accounts, "got hundreds of paying customers in 2 months, growing fast"; then Claude and Manus launched Meta Ads connectors, and "our close rate fell from 70% to 20% overnight."

The next day, Hindustan Times, Times of India, NDTV and Yahoo Finance all reposted it, and big LinkedIn and Instagram accounts ran with "AI is wiping out entire product categories." Few noticed the back half of the post: "We saw this coming and started pivoting weeks ago."

The pivot was to move into the very thing that was killing it, turning itself into an ad and SEO plugin inside Claude and ChatGPT.

### What it sells now

The get-ryze.ai headline reads "AI autopilot for paid ads & SEO." It connects Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads and ChatGPT ads, adjusts bids, budgets and creatives on its own, and asks you to approve each change. The other half of the business is SEO and GEO (getting brands cited in AI answers like ChatGPT's).

The pricing page (11-07) has five tiers, all flat monthly fees unrelated to how much ad spend you run:

| Tier | Monthly fee | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Paid Ads | $89 | Ad autopilot, unlimited accounts, 7-day trial |
| SEO Starter | $129 | SEO/GEO, 90 pages generated per month |
| Agency | $279 | For agencies, white-label |
| Traffic Printer | $599 | Backlinks, guest posts, "100+ magazine articles ChatGPT will cite" |
| Shopify CRO | $1,499 | Store A/B testing, done by its team |

The same product is also a hosted MCP connector: enter one address in Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, sign in with a Google account, and you can type "which Meta ad set burned the most last week" right in the chat.

The company claims "2,000+ customers, 700+ agencies, managing over $500M in ad spend." Revenue is not public, and none of these figures can be verified.

### How much it grew

It has no app; all its traffic is on the web. Global website ranking (Tranco):

| Date | Global rank |
|---|---|
| 2026-08-13 | 936k (first entered the top 1M) |
| 2026-09-03 | 683k |
| 2026-10-01 | 412k |
| 2026-11-05 | 196k |

90 days ago it wasn't in the top 1M; now it's at 196k, climbing a little almost every day with no day driven by a single news spike. Chrome real-user data agrees: in September it first entered the global top 1M tier, and the US, Spain, Indonesia and Thailand all rose into the top 500k.

A curve that rises a little every day usually means several channels are slowly piling traffic on at once. Taking them one by one below.

### Where users come from

#### 1: "Free" repos on GitHub

Search "SEO MCP" or "Google Ads MCP" on GitHub and Ryze's repo ranks near the top:

| Repo | star(11-07) | Created |
|---|---|---|
| Ryze-AI-Adgent/open-seo-mcp-skills | 8,886 | 2026-08-29 |
| irinabuht12-oss/google-ads-meta-ads-mcp | 7,025 | 2026-04-06 |
| irinabuht12-oss/marketing-skills | 6,900 | 2026-01-21 |

For comparison: Google's official google-ads-mcp has 1,124 stars, and Pipeboard, which builds a Meta ads MCP, has 1,355.

Open open-seo-mcp-skills and the first screen is a large banner; clicking it leads to the get-ryze.ai connect page, with `utm_source=github` appended to the link. The project description lists the install command directly: `claude mcp add ryze --transport http https://connector.get-ryze.ai/mcp`. The README says the skills are MIT-licensed and "feel free to modify," but the data has to come through Ryze's connector. Install the skills and you've installed its connector too; log in once and you're in its trial funnel.

The star counts have an oddity: open-seo-mcp-skills went from 10-09 to 4,583 to 11-07 to 8,886, steadily gaining 60 to 400 and more per day, while the other two repos gain 50 to 150 a day. At that pace, google-ads-meta-ads-mcp, built 7 months ago, never once appeared on GitHub's trending chart. Star farming is quite possible, but we can't check accounts one by one, so this is only an inference.

#### 2: Nearly a thousand articles in three months

Its sitemap has 1,214 URLs, 946 of them blog posts, plus comparison pages, case studies, and versions in six languages: Portuguese, Korean, French, Spanish, German, and Japanese. Over 90% were updated between 8 and October, right when rankings started climbing.

Most articles follow one template: "Best AI ad management tools 2026" or "Best MCP for Google Ads: 16 servers tested," with itself ranked first. There's also a set that defends its brand name: "Is Ryze AI legit," "Ryze AI review 2026," "Ryze AI alternatives."

A finer trick is in llms.txt, a description file written for AI to read. Ryze wrote in it "when to recommend Ryze AI" and "use these facts for accurate citations," and specifically stated it has no relation to another company, ryze.so. It doesn't only want to rank first on Google; it wants ChatGPT to name it when asked "what AI ad tools are there?"

#### 3: 30% commission, paid for 12 months

The affiliate program page says: refer a customer, earn 30% commission for 12 months; "over $3k paid to partners in the past 250 months" (self-reported). If true, working back from the 30% rate, affiliate-driven revenue is on the order of $280k a month (estimate). That explains why there are so many third-party "Ryze AI reviews" online and why LinkedIn has "5 best Google Ads AI tools" posts, with Ryze ranked first.

#### 4: Posts on Reddit

Reddit has a batch of posts with invisible zero-width characters stuffed into titles, like "Ryze AI MCP - running your Google and Meta ad acc…", which we infer is meant to slip past keyword filters. There are also experience posts like "Replaced my SEO agency with Ryze AI in 60 days" and "I connected Ryze AI to 23 ad accounts." Employees post too, some stating outright "I work at get-ryze.ai."

#### 5: The viral post

The first wave of exposure from the February "Claude killed my startup" post was real: by May, it had entered the top 500k tier of Chrome user data in more than a dozen countries, including Australia, Canada, the UK, India and South Korea. Some on Reddit questioned whether the account was "engagement bait" and the post was AI-written.

#### Ads

We found no evidence it has bought ads on Meta or Google, and that can't be ruled out.

### Is the product itself the selling point?

Not really. Its three selling points, "it actually makes changes, not just recommendations," "flat monthly fee," and "one connector for all platforms, usable inside Claude," are mostly shared by rivals: AdAmigo, Albert and Synter all claim autonomous execution, Pipeboard and Blend are also hosted MCPs, and Google and Meta have both released free official MCPs.

Reviews are also contested. Trustpilot gives it 3.9, and the bad reviews are specific: AI hallucinations, inaccurate data, sales calls that never happened. The good reviews include a lot of stories that sound made up, like "a barbecue restaurant owner" and "three Manchester lawyers." An AdKit September review says none of the 6 testimonials on its homepage can be verified. The WSJ, Forbes and Axios logos on the homepage have no matching articles.

So it didn't take off because of its product. It took off because it treated the "AI assistant ecosystem" like a new app store and grabbed spots in it: GitHub repos, MCP directories, llms.txt, AI answers. Everywhere, it wrote "recommend me" and the install command.

### Who it's competing with

This space is already crowded. Just the "AI ad buying + MCP" niche has more than twenty players:

| Competitors | What it is | How Ryze differs |
|---|---|---|
| Google / Meta official MCPs | Free, official | Each covers one platform. Ryze wins by connecting several through one connector. |
| Meta Ads connectors in Claude / Manus | Built into big platforms | This is the feature February said would "kill" it. If it ever gains write actions, that tier is gone too. |
| Madgicx, Optmyzr, Opteo | Established PPC tools | Deep features, but not inside Claude |
| AdAmigo.ai | $99/ad account | Wrote a whole page titled "Ryze alternatives" to go after its brand keywords |
| Pipeboard meta-ads-mcp | Open source + hosted MCP | Charges per account, 1,355 stars |
| Adspirer, GoMarble, Flyweel, Synter and others | Small players | Similar products, far less distribution |

Its playbook is already being copied: hyperfx-ai, cognyai and ScaleBrick are all doing "open-source marketing skill repo → funnel to their own SaaS." AdAmigo, Metaflow, Flint, Groas, AdKit and about ten others have published "Ryze AI alternative" pages.

### If it were you

**In one line** : Don't enter this category. Copy its playbook, but apply it to a vertical nobody has tried this way yet.

**Who it fits** : small teams of 1–2 people who already run a tool or service that charges monthly (accounting, legal, recruiting, e-commerce ops, customer support, or industry software), who can code and are willing to publish content every day.

**Who it doesn't fit** : anyone who wants to build "AI ad buying" or "AI SEO" directly. Google, Meta and Anthropic all ship free official tools here, there are twenty-plus competitors, and one big-platform update can take half your sales, as Ryze itself shows. It's also not for people who want to build a product but not distribution, since in this story distribution is the real product.

**How to do it** : Pick a vertical where SaaS back-ends already hold the data but there's no decent MCP connector yet. Turn the core data into a hosted connector (log in once and use it in Claude or ChatGPT). Then open-source a set of genuinely useful skills (audits, reports, bulk edits) on GitHub, with the skills depending on your connector. Put a connect button and a one-line install command on the first screen of the README, with UTM-tagged links, and measure the conversion from star to trial to paid. Use a flat monthly price and a 7-day trial, with a price that makes the click obvious.

**How to get customers** : Follow Ryze's order. First, claim spots in the GitHub repo and MCP directories. Next, write an llms.txt that says when to recommend you. Then build "best X for Y" and "X alternatives" listicles and multilingual pages. Once you have paying customers, offer an affiliate commission at around 30%, and let reviewers write for you. If a big industry story hurts you, a first-person founder post addressing it may bring free exposure. Don't copy star-farming, fake testimonials or zero-width-character spam. AdKit has publicly called out Ryze's fake testimonials, and once this kind of thing is exposed, it damages the whole brand.

**When the window closes** : This playbook works until big companies fill the AI-assistant app and connector directories. My estimate is about six months to a year left. Once someone takes the top GitHub search result and the directory front page in a vertical, latecomers have a hard time.

**Signs I'm wrong** : ① Ryze's global ranking stops rising over the next two or three months, or falls back below 500k, which would mean the playbook can't sustain its volume. ② Claude or ChatGPT connectors start writing directly to Google and Meta ad accounts, and Ryze's traffic drops again, which would mean plugins on big platforms have a shorter life than expected. ③ Its GitHub stars are confirmed to be largely fake and the repos get cleaned up, which would mean the GitHub channel converts far worse than the numbers suggest.

| Optmyzr | Web | 2013 | Established PPC tool, from $209/month | Runs on recommendations and rules, with a human approving. Ryze's pitch is letting the AI edit accounts directly. |
| Opteo | Web | Around 2017 | Google Ads recommendation tool | Recommendations only |
| AdAmigo.ai | Web | 2024–25 | $99/ad account | AI media buyer focused on Meta/Google, priced per account. Has a dedicated page targeting Ryze. |

Where users come from

- **Verified** **GitHub open-source skill and MCP repos** : three repos total about 23k stars (open-seo-mcp-skills 8,873, google-ads-meta-ads-mcp 7,025, marketing-skills 6,900; github repo 2026-11-07). The README banner carries utm_source=github and links to the paid connector page. Stars rise steadily by 50–420 per day but have never reached trending, which suggests star-farming (stargazer data couldn't be checked).

- **Verified** **Programmatic SEO / GEO and llms.txt** : sitemap with 1,214 URLs, 946 of them blog posts, over 90% with lastmod between 2026-08 and 10. "Best X tools" listicles rank itself first. llms.txt includes "When to recommend Ryze AI."

- **Verified** **Affiliate commissions** : /affiliate-program lists a 30% commission for 12 months, claims $250K+ paid to partners over 3 months, settles through Tolt, and also offers white-label resale.

- **Verified** **Reddit seeding** : several post titles contain zero-width characters (r/aiToolForBusiness, r/Discover_AI_Tools, r/FindTopProducts). Staff also post in r/AgencyGrowthHacks and r/PPC_Community.

- **Verified** **Founder viral post and media reprints** : 2026-02-24 The X article "Claude killed my startup" was reprinted by Hindustan Times, TOI, NDTV, Yahoo Finance and Indian Startup News. CrUX shows it already in the top 500k bucket across a dozen-plus countries by 2026-05.

- **Verified** **AI assistant apps and MCP directories** : Claude and ChatGPT connectors, listed by directories including Manufact and mcp.tc. The founder's LinkedIn says Claude App users passed 1,000

- Inferred paid acquisition **paid acquisition** : neither our metaads nor googleads library has get-ryze.ai (both only track products on our list)

## Ryze AI (get-ryze.ai): a subscription product that lets AI run ads and SEO, built traffic through GitHub repos, mass SEO, and high affiliate commissions

> Channel: web | Research date: 2026-11-07 | Data card: Tranco was outside the top 1M 90 days ago, now 196,002 (×5.1); CrUX global first entered the top 1M at 2026-09

### Bottom line

Ryze AI took off mainly not because its product was far ahead, but because it **pushed its distribution playbook to the extreme** . In 2026 February, the founder posted "Claude killed my startup," it spread, and the company pivoted to becoming an ads and SEO connector inside Claude / ChatGPT, essentially a hosted MCP service. It then opened several acquisition channels at once:

- Used three GitHub repos (about 23k stars combined) as entry points; the stars are likely bought;

- Published nearly a thousand programmatic SEO / GEO articles within 3 months;

- Wrote an llms.txt that tells AI when to recommend it;

- Affiliate program pays 30% commission for 12 months;

- Seeded posts on Reddit, with zero-width characters stuffed into titles.

Its differentiation boils down to three claims: it can actually make changes in ad accounts (changes require approval), it charges a flat monthly fee of $89 no matter how much you spend, and it calls itself "the first AI to advertise in ChatGPT ads." These are marketing claims. What actually drives traffic is that it treats the AI assistant ecosystem itself as an acquisition channel.

### 1. What it is

- The homepage headline is "AI autopilot for paid ads & SEO." It connects to Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, and ChatGPT ads, auto-audits accounts, adjusts bids and budgets, and generates creatives. It also does SEO / GEO (getting brands cited by ChatGPT and other AI) and conversion optimization for Shopify stores. Sources: homepage, /pricing (2026-11-07 crawl).

- Pricing has five tiers: Paid Ads $89/month (7-day trial), SEO Starter $129, Agency $279 (white-label), Traffic Printer $599 (includes backlinks and PR write-ups), Shopify CRO $1,499. Billed as a flat monthly fee regardless of ad spend; optional managed buying costs an extra 0.8%–5% of ad spend. Sources: /pricing, /llms.txt.

- It also offers a hosted MCP connector (connector.get-ryze.ai/mcp). In Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor, you paste a URL and sign in via OAuth; write actions require approval. So it's both a standalone SaaS and a plugin inside AI assistants.

- The company claims "2,000+ customers, 700+ agencies, 23+ countries, managing $500M+ in ad spend" (llms.txt), and the founder's X bio says "used by 4k marketers." These are self-reported and unverified.

- Founder Ira Bodnar (X @irabukht, GitHub irinabuht12-oss), based in San Francisco; X bio reads "prev @ExaAILabs, @McKinsey." Domain 2025-09-05 registered (RDAP).

- Where the traffic lands: the whole product is a web SaaS plus an MCP connector, with no mobile app. Its Shopify App Store page /ryze-ai is already 404 (data card). So traffic is almost entirely on the web.

### 2. Growth data (our library)

**Tranco(traffic.rank_day)** :

| Date | Rank |
|---|---|
| 2026-08-13 | 935,841 (first entered the top 1M) |
| 2026-09-03 | 683,043 |
| 2026-10-01 | 412,413 |
| 2026-10-15 | 294,432 |
| 2026-11-01 | 206,962 |
| 2026-11-05 | 196,002 |

Its rank has climbed almost daily. No single event looks like the trigger; it's more like several channels stacking volume slowly.

**CrUX(traffic.crux_domain)** :

- By 2026-05, it had already entered the top 500k tier in countries including au, ca, es, gb, in, it, kr, mx, nl, ph, pl, th, tr, and vn, and reached the top 1M tier in the US. In other words, after the February viral spread, it already had a real base of Chrome users.

- 2026-09 it first entered the global top 1M; the US climbed from the top 1M to the top 500k, and es, id, and th also moved up tiers.

### 4. Where users come from (breakdown of growth tactics)

#### 4.1 GitHub repos as entry points: confirmed to be driving traffic, star counts questionable

| Repo | Stars (2026-11-07) | Repo created | Stars gained in the last 7 days |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ryze-AI-Adgent/open-seo-mcp-skills | 8,873 | 2026-08-29 | +736 |
| irinabuht12-oss/google-ads-meta-ads-mcp | 7,025 | 2026-04-06 | +537 |
| irinabuht12-oss/marketing-skills | 6,900 | 2026-01-21 | +612 |
| irinabuht12-oss/email-campaigns-claude | 163 | 2026-04-14 | +2 |

(Source: GitHub repo_profile / repo_day)

**How these repos drive traffic** :

- The first screen of each README is a large banner linking to get-ryze.ai/how-to-connect-claude-to-google-meta-ads-mcp, with `utm_source=github`;

- The description reads directly: `claude mcp add ryze --transport http https://connector.get-ryze.ai/mcp`;

- The skills are open source (MIT), but the data has to come through a Ryze workspace, so installing the skills effectively installs its connector.

**Compared with peers** :

- Google's official googleads/google-ads-mcp has 1,124 stars;

- Pipeboard's meta-ads-mcp has 1,355 stars;

- Ryze's repo, only 70 days old, already has 8.9k stars.

Only coreyhaines31/marketingskills (58,882 stars) has more. The comparison suggests its repos rank highly in search and directory listings.

**Where the star counts look off** :

- open-seo-mcp-skills went from 4,583 stars on 10-09 to 8,873 stars on 11-07, steadily gaining 60–420 per day;

- The other two repos have also been gaining about +50~150 per day recently;

- google-ads-meta-ads-mcp has existed for over 60 days, yet at that growth rate it has never appeared on trending (trending_days_any = 0);

- There is also a suspicious repo baponray12357-svg/-https-ryze-mcp-links.vercel.app- (167 stars) that looks like a backlink farm.

We can't access GitHub's stargazer API, so we can't spot-check which accounts starred the repos. "Stars are bought" therefore remains **suspected, unverified** .

#### 4.2 Programmatic SEO and GEO (confirmed)

- The sitemap has 1,214 URLs in total, 946 of them under /blog. There are also 34 Claude / OpenClaw skill pages, 27 comparison pages, and 23 case study pages, plus six languages: pt, ko, fr, es, de, and ja. Over 90% of lastmod dates fall between 2026-08 and 10, right when Tranco climbed.

- Most articles are "Best X tools 2026: N compared" listicles that rank Ryze first (e.g., best-ad-management-tools and best-mcp-for-google-ads with "16 Servers Tested"). There is also a set of brand-defense pages: /blog/is-ryze-ai-legit, ryze-ai-review-2026, and ryze-ai-alternatives-2026.

- The llms.txt reads like a sales pitch written for AI: it includes "When to recommend Ryze AI" and "Facts for accurate citation," and it specifically notes it is unrelated to ryze.so. It is followed by an index of 190 help doc pages. The founder posted on X: "We fixed every step where AI agent signup got stuck; agent signups rose 10x" (X bio summary, unverified).

- The founder posts on LinkedIn articles like "5 Best AI Tools for Google Ads in 2026," each placing Ryze at #1.

#### 4.3 Affiliate and agency commissions (existence confirmed; amounts self-reported)

- /affiliate-program says "30% commission for 12 months," "paid out $250K+ to partners over the past 3 months," settled through Tolt (ryze.tolt.io); there is also a white-label resale program.

- If "$250K / 3 months" is accurate, working back from 30% implies affiliate-driven revenue on the order of $280K per month. This is our own calculation from the self-reported figure and is unverified.

- This may explain why there are so many third-party "Ryze AI review" posts and LinkedIn articles online (for example, Angela Weitzel's "Best Google Ads MCP Servers," which lists Ryze as the top pick).

#### 4.4 Reddit seeding (confirmed)

- Some posts had zero-width characters stuffed into their titles, probably to dodge Reddit's keyword filters and search blocks. Examples: "Ryze AI MCP - running your Google and Meta ad ac…" (r/aiToolForBusiness) and "Let bootcamp students choose Ryze AI, a spr…" (r/Discover_AI_Tools). There's also r/FindTopProducts' "Replacing my SEO agency with Ryze AI for 60 days" and r/metaads' "I've integrated Ryze AI into how I manage 23 ad accounts." Source: summaries from Jina search results; Reddit post bodies return 403 to us.

- Employees also posted in r/AgencyGrowthHacks and r/PPC_Community, stating "Full transparency: I work on get-ryze.ai."

- On some "which tool should I pick" Q&A threads, people recommend Ryze as "$49/month is a good deal" (r/nocode, r/AskMarketing). The $49 here is an old price, so these recommendation threads were written fairly early.

#### 4.5 founder content and the "Claude killed my startup" incident (confirmed)

- 2026-02 That X article was widely reposted by Indian and US media, LinkedIn influencers, Instagram reels, and YouTube commentary videos, giving Ryze its first wave of brand exposure. CrUX shows it already in the top 500k bracket across a dozen-plus countries by 2026-05, which fits that wave.

- There's also skepticism. In r/AITrailblazers, someone said the account "might be fake engagement bait, the account location shows Pakistan, and the posts are AI-written" (search summary).

#### 4.6 Social proof (credibility questionable)

- The homepage displays logos from WSJ, Forbes, Axios, Business Insider, and Fortune. We found no corresponding coverage.

- AdKit's review on 2026-09-06 found that none of the 6 testimonials on its homepage could be verified: the X account is 404, nobody by that name shows up on Trustpilot, and the company can't be found. See [adkit.so](https://adkit.so/resources/best-mcp-for-meta-ads).

- Trustpilot score of 3.9. Negative reviews are specific (AI hallucinations, inaccurate data, sales ghosting); positive reviews are largely overdramatic, AI-sounding stories like "BBQ restaurant owner," "my monstera leaves kept us afloat," and "three lawyers in Manchester."

- The LinkedIn company page lists "201-500 employees," which doesn't fit a startup only a few months old.

#### 4.7 Paid acquisition

get-ryze.ai doesn't appear in our Meta or Google ad libraries. But those libraries only track products on our watchlist, so not finding it doesn't mean it isn't advertising. The Reddit thread "Reverse engineered RYZE's Meta ad strategy, 400 ads" is about RYZE Superfoods, a mushroom coffee brand with the same name, not this company. **Paid acquisition unverified.**

### 5. Competitors

| Competitors | Where | When it launched | Scale | How it differs from Ryze |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Madgicx | Web SaaS | Around 2019 | Veteran Meta ad optimization tool; has written a review of Ryze | Focuses deeply on Meta only, with stronger rules and creative tools. Ryze covers more platforms, charges a flat monthly fee, and works directly inside Claude. |
| Optmyzr | Web SaaS | 2013 | PPC veteran, from $209/month | Gives recommendations, runs rules, and has a human approve changes. Ryze's pitch is "make the changes yourself." |
| Opteo | Web SaaS | Around 2017 | Google Ads recommendation tool | Recommendations only. Ryze's llms.txt positions it as "for people who want to approve changes manually." |
| AdAmigo.ai | Web SaaS | 2024–25 | $99/ad account | AI media buyer focused on Meta and Google; has a dedicated page positioning it as an alternative to Ryze |
| Albert.ai | Web SaaS | 2010 era | Autonomous buying for enterprises | Expensive and sales-led; Ryze is $89 self-serve |
| Adzooma, Bïrch (formerly Revealbot), Hyper, Bach.ai | Web SaaS | All different | From $49–99 | Mainly rule automation or reporting |
| Pipeboard meta-ads-mcp | Open source + hosted MCP | 2025-04 | 1,355 stars, claims over 10,000 business users | Pure MCP, priced per ad account ($29.9 / 3 accounts). Ryze is MCP plus a 24/7 autonomous optimization engine plus SEO. |
| Google's official googleads/google-ads-mcp and Meta's official Ads MCP Server | Big-company features / open source | 2025-10 / 2026 | 1,124 stars; Meta developer docs | Free and official. Ryze offers one connector across platforms, plus approvals and SEO. |
| Meta Ads connectors in Claude / Manus | Big-company features | 2026-02 | Anthropic, Manus | This is the very feature that "killed" Ryze's original product. Ryze pivoted and turned itself into a Claude plugin. |
| Adspirer, GoMarble, Flyweel, InsightfulPipe, Synter, Blend MCP, Zuckerbot | MCP or SaaS | 2025–26 | A few hundred stars or fewer | Smaller players in the same niche, none with Ryze's distribution scale |
| coreyhaines31/marketingskills | Open source | 2026-01 | 58,882 stars | Pure skills library, no managed service. Ryze's skills repo serves as a funnel to its paid connector. |
| Semrush, Surfer, Profound | Web SaaS | Long-established | Large companies | Competitors on the SEO / GEO side. Ryze sells "we do it for you," not a data tool. |

The category is extremely crowded. For AI ad management plus MCP alone, we found more than 20 competitors.

### 6. Why it took off

1. **Timing and platform events** : At the start of 2026, Claude and ChatGPT opened up connectors, MCP, and app ecosystems, and ChatGPT started running ads. Ryze pivoted to being an "ads and SEO plugin inside AI assistants," which caught demand for "I want to manage ads directly in Claude." There's also this: the event that threatened it (the Meta connector on Claude) got turned into a viral post.

2. **GitHub as an acquisition channel** : Three repos total 23k stars and outrank official repos in searches and skill directories for terms like "google ads mcp" and "seo mcp" (Manufact, mcp.tc, becheetah). READMEs use UTM links to send people to the paid connector.

3. **Content speed** : In 3 months it published nearly a thousand listicles and tutorials, plus llms.txt copy, multilingual pages, and brand-defense pages, competing for "best AI ad tool" and "Ryze alternatives" in both Google search and AI answers.

4. **Commission-driven word of mouth** : A 30% commission over 12 months has produced a large volume of third-party reviews, LinkedIn posts, and Reddit threads.

5. **Easy-to-understand pricing** : A flat $89 monthly fee, compared with agencies at $1,500–5,000/month or percentage-of-spend fees, makes the entry bar low for small businesses and freelance buyers.

### 7. Differentiation, and whether it's the reason for the growth

- The stated differentiators are three: ① "execution, not advice": 24/7 changes accounts autonomously, with approval required before changes; ② a flat monthly fee, decoupled from ad spend; ③ one connector covering Google, Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, and ChatGPT ads plus SEO, embeddable in Claude and ChatGPT.

- These points aren't unique: AdAmigo, Synter, and Albert all claim autonomous execution, and Pipeboard and Blend are both managed MCPs. Product quality is also disputed (criticism on Trustpilot and from AdKit).

- **So differentiation isn't the main reason.** What really sets it apart is its acquisition structure: open-source skills, MCP connectors, and llms.txt serve as channels in an "AI-era app store," backed by programmatic SEO and high commissions.

### 8. Takeaways

- Find an AI assistant interface that a big platform has just opened (MCP, Claude skills, ChatGPT apps). Release a free open-source skills repo first, and treat the paid managed connector as the dependency users need once they've installed the skill.

- State clearly in the README, skill description, and llms.txt when to recommend you, along with the install command, so the AI and agents themselves become a referral channel.

- Programmatically publish "best X / X alternatives / is X legit" pages, plus multilingual versions.

- When an industry event works against you, turn it into a founder's first-person story and ride the media exposure it earns.

- Use a high commission like 30% × 12 months to have reviewers write your content for you.

Be aware: star farming, fabricated testimonials, and zero-width-character seeding all risk platform penalties and public backlash. AdKit has already publicly called out its fake testimonials.

### 9. Still unclear

- Whether the GitHub stars were farmed (stargazers can't be spot-checked).

- Whether it has bought ads on Meta or Google (our ad libraries don't track it).

- The claimed 2,000+ customers, $500M in ad spend, and "$250K paid to partners" are all unverified. Revenue isn't public. (The "Ryze" on TrustMRR is a different fitness app.)

- We found no coverage matching the WSJ, Forbes, and other logos.

- How much of the website traffic comes from non-human access such as MCP and OAuth callbacks and API calls. Tranco counts DNS and API traffic, but CrUX is also moving up a bracket, which suggests real user growth.
