Auto Clicker - AutoFill (getautoclicker.com) · getautoclicker.com

# A free auto-clicker that's been around for 8 years just started charging: getautoclicker.com's ranking jumped 9x, and it didn't gain a single extra user

**What it is** A Chrome extension for auto-clicking and auto-filling forms, eight and a half years old, with 200k users. The website is its docs and settings page.

**Why it blew up** It didn't. The July update added accounts, subscriptions and backend reporting. 200k browsers auto-updated and now query its domains every day. The website's rank got a one-time boost and then went flat. Real visits didn't grow.

**C** **How you could play it** Don't build a generic clicker to sell subscriptions. Build a form-filler for one specific thing (visa appointments, train tickets, temple bookings, course registration) and charge a few dollars per use. Or build a free, no-signup clicker with a loop feature and a one-time purchase as your traffic funnel.

C grade: the rank climb is technical, and the product itself isn't growing. The generic clicker category is packed with free rivals. One-star reviews show users won't pay a monthly fee for clicking. The window to pick up churned users is small and new free extensions have already taken it. What's worth copying is the move to paid and the scenario-specific form-filling angle. Few people know about this yet

Global rank 112k · 90 days ago, top 1M+

getautoclicker.com is the official site of Auto Clicker - AutoFill, a Chrome extension. Between August and September this year, its global website ranking climbed from around #1M down to around #110K, which looks like a sudden breakout. In reality the extension's user count stayed flat at 200K. The real news is something else: the author, who had kept it free for eight and a half years, started charging on Jul 23, and put the loop feature, the one users can't live without, behind the paywall. This piece explains why the ranking is misleading, how users reacted to the paid model, and what opportunity is left for latecomers in this business.

### New Year's Eve, 2017 years on

The author, Dharmesh Patel, is an individual developer in Pune, India, whose developer account is Dhruv TechApps. In July 2026 23, he published a long post on his blog titled "v5.0.0 — a new chapter." It opens like this (translated):

> "On Dec 2017 31, I pushed the first version. It was New Year's Eve. I didn't celebrate. I sat at my desk tweaking a Chrome extension, because I was sick of filling out the same web forms over and over."

He goes on to explain why he's charging: for eight years he has maintained it in evenings, weekends and lunch breaks. Dependencies need constant upgrades or users' data is at risk. "When I started I was single. Now people at home depend on me." The last line: "Subscribe if you can. If you can't, that's fine. The core features will stay free."

The post is sincere, but the store reviews are less gracious.

### What it is, and what the paid tier covers

The extension does two things: auto-clicks on web pages (by element or coordinates) and auto-fills forms. It can record and replay, branch on conditions, run on a schedule, loop, and pull data row by row from Google Sheets to fill forms. Users use it for all sorts of things: grabbing seats at refresh time, bulk data entry, idling in web games. One store review asks how to run it unattended on Blooket, a classroom quiz game. The configuration UI isn't in the extension popup. It lives on a separate web app, stable.getautoclicker.com. The website itself is a docs site.

| Tier | Pricing | Includes |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Free | Unlimited automations, unlimited steps, recording, repeats within a step |
| Plus | $4.99/month or $49.90/year | Ad removal, full automation loops, page change monitoring, scheduling, conditional logic |
| Pro | $9.99/month or $99.90/year | Plus Google Sheets, Discord notifications, CAPTCHA solving, and OpenAI integration |

Source: the official upgrade page and the v5.0.0 blog post (7-23). Each tier has a 14-day trial. Payments run through Dodo Payments. Revenue has never been disclosed.

The store now shows 200k users and a rating of 3.2 (1,165 ratings). From Nov 1 to 7, every single day showed 200k.

### Why the rank rose 9x

The global website ranking (Tranco) blends traffic from several data sources. Two of them count DNS lookups: every time a computer resolves the domain, that counts as one hit.

v5 added accounts, subscriptions and a runtime monitoring layer. The new extension's backend code hardcodes a reporting endpoint, otel.getautoclicker.com, and also connects to stable.getautoclicker.com and several Google cloud services. The extension auto-updates. Within weeks, 200k browsers running it had switched to the new version and were querying these subdomains every day in the background. That's what pushed the rank up:

| Date | Global rank |
|---|---|
| Before Aug 13 | Outside the top 1M |
| Aug 20 | 459k |
| Sep 3 | 163k |
| Sep 17 | 112k |
| Oct 1 to Nov 5 | 111k to 115k, flat |

The shape says it all: after the new version was fully indexed, traffic jumped in one step and then went flat. Real user acquisition grows gradually and doesn't look like this. Another clue is Chrome's own real-user page-load buckets (CrUX): its global bucket was top 500k in May and dropped to top 1M from 6 to September, without rising along with it. Real visitors are basically unchanged (inference, high confidence). Without the old installer, I can't prove 100% that v5 is when the reporting was added.

So if you see it listed as "up 9x in three months" on some chart, that's machines knocking on the door, not people.

### How users reacted to the paywall

In the three weeks after the v5 push, one-star reviews piled up in the store, and the most-liked ones all say the same thing: loops.

- "Great job putting a paywall on the loop feature! Charging for basic functionality is a stroke of genius. Every click I make is now a privilege. 10/10's business strategy." (8-10,14 people found this helpful)

- "Thanks for teaching us a lesson: don't trust any free product on the market." (8-11)

- "Loops were free for years, now you have to pay. Without them the program is useless, and it's not worth $4.99 a month. If 0.99, or if it were a one-time purchase, I might drop the one star." (8-13)

The author replied to almost every one, at length. He admitted "loops are core functionality, and putting them behind a paywall feels wrong," and explained why he didn't do a one-time purchase: "We considered both. The hard part is forecasting revenue to fund ongoing updates, security patches and support. A monthly subscription fits better, even if it feels worse right now." Some users complained about being asked for a name and email as soon as they installed it. He said the free version needs no signup, and you only log in to use paid features.

These reviews hand latecomers a clear list of demands: **loops, a low price, ideally a one-time purchase, and no forced signup.**

### Where users come from, and who the competition is

Based on Chrome Store search, its users mostly come from search. The name takes up two big keywords, "Auto Clicker" and "AutoFill." It carries a Featured badge, is localized into 23 languages, and has built up eight years of ratings. There's also an official YouTube tutorial channel, a thorough docs site, a Discord group, and the author's own Reddit posts about his "200k-user extension." I found no media coverage, influencer endorsements or ad campaigns. On X, nobody has mentioned the domain in nearly four months.

The category is very crowded. Even just extensions called "Auto Clicker" make a long list:

| Competitors | Scale (Chrome Web Store, 11-07) | How it differs |
|---|---|---|
| OP Auto Clicker | 400k users | Chases the "auto clicker" keyword for SEO, main product is a Windows desktop clicker |
| Auto Clicker(2019) | 300k users, rating 3.3 | Pure clicking, no form filling |
| Speed Auto Clicker | 70k users, rating 4.8 (387 ratings), listed in February 2026 | Free, hotkeys and interval settings, focused on web tasks and mini-games |
| Simple Auto Clicker | 20k users, listed in November 2025 | Free, its description says "no tracking, only three permissions" |
| Lightning Autofill | 600k users, has charged for a long time | A veteran rule-based form filler, doesn't do click flows |
| Automa, UI.Vision | 200k users each, open source | Block-based workflows, higher barrier to entry |
| Axiom, Bardeen | 100k to 400k users, from $15/month | No-code automation for teams |

The one to watch is Speed Auto Clicker: listed in February 2026, it reached 9k users, 70 ratings and a 387 rating in 4.8 months. In a crowded category, a new extension can still get traffic if it's clean and well-rated.

### What people actually pay for: extensions that do one specific job

Going through the "autofill" extensions listed since the second half of 2025, a different kind of product is growing, and most of them openly charge (Chrome Store, 11-07):

- **TTD Autofill Assistant** : auto-fills the booking system for India's Tirumala Temple (TTD). 10k users, the store lists in-app purchases, and it calls itself "Premium." At least four followers have copied the same scenario.

- **Indian Visa Autofill Pro** : upload a passport PDF and it auto-fills Indian visa applications. 10k users, 5.0 rating (86 ratings). The developer is in Dhaka, and the website lists pricing.

- **IRCTC Tatkal Autofill Assistant** : autofills passenger details during Indian rail Tatkal booking. 4,000 users. The listing mentions paid features and stresses "no CAPTCHA bypass, data stays local."

- Someone in South Korea built a dedicated auto-clicker for "수강신청" (university course registration). Still small.

Generic auto clickers sell "click anything," and users think that should be free. These niche extensions sell "get this one thing," and users think that's worth paying for. Many of getautoclicker.com's old users are doing exactly this, just configuring it themselves in a general-purpose tool.

### If it were you

**Bottom line:** getautoclicker.com isn't actually hot. Don't let the ranking fool you. Its move to paid leaves room for newcomers, but the generic auto clicker lane is crowded and hard to monetize.

**Good fit:** People who can build a Chrome extension and live in a scenario where you have to grab something fast (visa appointments in some country, train tickets, concert tickets, university course selection, government service sites). You know the site's form layout and when slots open.

**Bad fit:** Anyone trying to build a better general "Auto Clicker" and charge a subscription. Users have already told you in one-star reviews that clicking should be free. Free alternatives are everywhere, and the new Speed Auto Clicker is free too.

**How to build it:** Two paths, pick one. One: a form-filling extension that does one specific thing: one site, one scenario. Fill in the fixed info (passengers, passport, ID) and fill everything in one click at the moment registration opens. Charge a few dollars per use or per season. Don't touch CAPTCHAs or rate-limit bypass; store review and site bans both watch for that. Two: if you must build a generic clicker, build the list of requests from the reviews: free loop, no signup, minimal permissions, one-time purchase. Treat it as a funnel for reputation and traffic, not as a revenue product.

**How to get users:** App Store search is the main channel. Put the scenario and the site name right in the title, the way TTD and IRCTC do. Then go where people in that scenario gather: the visa boards on Reddit, Facebook groups, and the comment sections of YouTube "how to grab X tickets" tutorials. Post a short video showing "filled in 3 seconds before booking opens."

**When to get in early:** Scenario extensions track that scenario's peaks: holiday travel in India, visa season, university enrollment, hot concert on-sales. Launch a month before the peak to collect reviews. The generic clicker lane, where paid pricing is driving users away, gets the most complaints in August, and free extensions like Speed Auto Clicker are already picking them up. The longer you wait, the less it's worth.

**What would prove this read wrong:** If getautoclicker.com's store user count drops from 200k to the 100k range, the paywall really is pushing people out, and the lane for capturing churned users is wider than we thought. Conversely, if it's still at 200k a few months from now and its rating stops falling, the switching cost for old users is bigger than their anger, the paywall held, and the "old free tool goes subscription" playbook is worth copying. Also, if the booking site you picked starts blocking extensions or moves to a queue system, that scenario is done and you should switch.

Where users come from

- Inferred **Chrome Web Store search (both "Auto Clicker" and "AutoFill" in the name, Featured badge, 23 languages)** : chromestore library shows Featured, 23 UI languages, 1,165 ratings, first published 2017; the store's related extensions are all same-name clickers

- **Confirmed** **YouTube tutorials** : official channel @autoclickerautofill; tutorial video M3yNuBkJW3g ranks high in search results

- **Confirmed** **Docs site and blog SEO** : getautoclicker.com/docs has full 5.x documentation with Algolia site search, plus blog.getautoclicker.com; CrUX shows no growth from it

- **Confirmed** **Reddit self-promotion and Discord community** : r/chrome_extensions post "Built a Chrome Extension with 200K+ Users"; scattered user recommendations on r/learnprogramming and r/PowerShell

- Inferred **Tranco inflated by extension telemetry and background connections (not acquisition)** : the 5.4.1 install package's background.js hardcodes otel.getautoclicker.com/v1/traces (pointing to Railway), Firebase, and Cloud Functions; Tranco jumped once after the v5 push and then flattened, while CrUX did not rise

## Why getautoclicker.com (Auto Clicker - AutoFill) came back up: research report

Research date: 2026-11-07

### Bottom line

It didn't break out fresh. This Chrome/Edge auto-click and auto-fill extension has been around for 8.5 years, with users hovering near 200k. Its Tranco rank jumped 8.9x in 90 days (from outside the top 1M to 112k). **This is essentially a fake climb** : the v5 released by 2026-07-23 moved to freemium, adding accounts, subscriptions, and telemetry. Now 200k browsers with it installed keep connecting to `otel.getautoclicker.com` (OpenTelemetry telemetry) and `stable.getautoclicker.com` (the settings page) in the background. The Tranco data sources that count DNS and network traffic therefore lifted its rank. CrUX, which measures real-user page visits, did not rise in the same period. It actually dropped from the global top 500k in May to beyond the top 1M after June. The real story isn't the "breakout." It's the step where a long-running free extension went paid in 2026 July.

### 1. What it is

- Chrome/Edge extension Auto Clicker - AutoFill (id iapifmceeokikomajpccajhjpacjmibe). Developers Dhruv Techapps / Dharmesh Patel (GitHub account dharmesh-hemaram), based in Pune, India. First published 2017-12-31; current version 5.4.1; the store lists it as Featured. Users: 200,000; rating 3.2 (1,165 ratings); UI in 23 languages (chromestore library; updates 2026-11-01 through 11-07 have been 200,000, untouched). A separate BETA extension has 7,000 users.

- Features: auto-click and auto-fill by XPath or coordinates, record-and-replay, pulling values from Google Sheets to fill forms, loops, scheduling, Page Guard conditionals, CAPTCHA recognition, AI-generated fill values, Discord notifications, and Explore, a community automation library. The official site [getautoclicker.com](https://getautoclicker.com) is a docs site on GitHub Pages. The configuration UI isn't in the extension popup; it lives on the web page [stable.getautoclicker.com](https://stable.getautoclicker.com) (Firebase Hosting, `auto-clicker-auto-fill-prod.web.app`). The official docs' getting-started step 2 is "open stable.getautoclicker.com" ([docs](https://getautoclicker.com/docs/5.x/getting-started/introduction/)).

- **Where the traffic lands** : entirely on the extension. The site is the extension's settings panel and docs, with no standalone app and no web version of the product.

### 2. Ranking climb breakdown: why it's telemetry or DNS traffic

| Date | Tranco rank (traffic library) |
|---|---|
| 2026-07-30 ~ 08-13 | Not in the top 1M |
| 2026-08-20 | 459,341 |
| 2026-08-27 | 244,008 |
| 2026-09-03 | 162,855 |
| 2026-09-17 | 111,529 |
| 2026-10-01 ~ 11-05 | 111k~115k, flat |

- Tranco is a 30-day rolling average. The rank surfaced in mid-August, peaked in mid-September, then flattened. That suggests a **one-time lift that stayed stable** starting around early-to-mid August. This shape matches an extension auto-update reaching the full installed base, not organic acquisition, which would build gradually.

- The timing lines up: v5.0.0 "A New Chapter" 2026-07-23 released, announcing the freemium move ([blog](https://blog.getautoclicker.com/2026/07/23/auto-click-auto-fill-5-0-0/)). In August came 5.0.20, 5.1.2 (annual plans, fixing Google sign-in on Edge), and 5.2.0. Chrome Web Store review and staged rollout take about 1–3 weeks, so full rollout coincided with mid-to-late August.

- Evidence found in the extension package (2026-11-07 downloaded from Google's update server, 5.4.1 version, unpacked to read background.js): the OpenTelemetry export endpoint `https://otel.getautoclicker.com/v1/traces` is hardcoded (metrics and logs follow the same pattern), and `otel.getautoclicker.com` resolves to Railway (`qtpvp690.up.railway.app`). It also connects to Firebase Realtime Database and `us-central1-auto-clicker-autofill.cloudfunctions.net`, and the manifest requests Google sign-in (oauth2 openid/email). 200k always-on service workers check getautoclicker.com subdomains every day. Tranco's sources include Cloudflare Radar (1.1.1.1 DNS) and Cisco Umbrella (DNS), and queries like these count directly toward rank.

- **Counter-evidence** : CrUX (which measures only real Chrome users loading web pages) had the global tier at the top 2026-05 500k in 06, and through September it stayed in the top 1M, with no tier jump. Among countries, Taiwan rose from the top 08k to the top 500k from 100 to September, and Spain and Poland moved slightly, but CrUX tail fluctuations are large month to month (SCHEMA notes this). The US and India stayed at the top 500k. In short, real web page visits barely changed.

- Not verified: I couldn't get the v4-era package, so I can't directly prove telemetry was added in v5. But v5 introduced accounts and subscriptions (Google sign-in, Dodo Payments, Firebase role checks), and the timing of the rank curve fits, so I rate it as highly likely.

### 3. Competitors

| Competitors | Where | Launched | Scale | How it differs |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Auto Clicker(cpedeojecpbkcomgcolphimkjdnikbck) | Chrome | 2019-08 | 300k users, rating 3.3 | Pure clicker, no form filling, Sheets, or conditionals |
| OP Auto Clicker (extension) / opautoclicker.com | Chrome, Windows desktop | 2023-04 (extension) | 400k extension users; opautoclicker.com ~155k on Tranco | SEO on the broad term "auto clicker"; mainly a desktop clicker, does no form filling |
| Auto Clicker(autoclicker.io) | Chrome | 2022-01 | 100k users; ~668k on Tranco | Simple clicking |
| GG Auto Clicker | Chrome | 2022-01 | 50k users, pricing on the site | Game and clicker-oriented |
| MT Auto Clicker | Chrome | 2021/2025 | 10k + 20k users, pricing on the site | Clicking plus simple scripts |
| Lightning Autofill | Chrome | 2010-10 | 600k users, has in-app purchases; ~708k on Tranco | Long-running form filler, rule-based filling, paid for a long time, no click workflows |
| AutoFill Forms / QuickForm / Fake Data | Chrome | 2016–2024 | 50k~100k users | Fills forms or generates test data only |
| Automa | Chrome, open source | 2021-10 | 200k users | Block-based workflows, more like RPA, higher learning curve |
| UI.Vision RPA | Chrome, open source | 2017-08 | 200k users | Open source RPA, can do desktop visual automation, aimed at technical users |
| Axiom.ai, Bardeen, HARPA AI | Chrome, SaaS | 2018–2022 | 100k~400k users, subscription, has funding | No-code RPA or AI agents, priced high ($15+ per month) |
| Microsoft Power Automate | Big-company features | 2022 | 13M users (enterprises force-install it) | Enterprise RPA, not aimed at individuals |
| Chrome's built-in autofill (AI edition) | Big-company features | Ongoing iteration | Every Chrome user | Fills only personal profile data, no clicking, looping, or scheduling |

Data sources: chromestore library (2026-11-07), traffic library Tranco (2026-11-05). This category is crowded, with plenty of extensions named "Auto Clicker".

### 4. Where users came from (growth tactics)

- **Chrome Web Store search** (main channel, inferred): the name contains both "Auto Clicker" and "AutoFill", two high-volume search terms. It has the Featured badge and its UI and store listing are localized into 23 languages (the store description currently displays in Hindi). 8 years of installs and ratings keep it ranking high in search.

- **YouTube tutorials** : official channel @autoclickerautofill, with tutorial video M3yNuBkJW3g ranking high in search results (Jina search).

- **Docs site and blog SEO** : getautoclicker.com/docs hosts full 5.x documentation, with Algolia on-site search, plus blog.getautoclicker.com and a WordPress mirror blog. The documentation volume is large, but Tranco and CrUX show no real traffic growth from SEO.

- **Reddit self-promotion and communities** : r/chrome_extensions has self-promo posts titled "Built a Chrome Extension with 200K+ Users". There's a Discord community, and users recommend it organically on r/learnprogramming and r/PowerShell (sporadic, older threads).

- **Paid ads** : nothing matched in our ad library (the ads field on the card is empty). The product itself does show ads: the free version has ads, and the Plus version is "Ad-free".

- No push from creators, media, Product Hunt, or HN was found. On X, x-radar's search for "getautoclicker" over the past 120 days returned 0.

### 5. Why people stay, and why they pay

- Retention comes from switching costs: users have stored a pile of site-specific automations inside it (ticket and slot grabbing, refreshing, bulk form entry, filling forms from Google Sheets). Moving to another tool means reconfiguring all of it.

- Pricing model (from v5,2026-07-23): The Free tier keeps unlimited automations, unlimited steps, recording, and all value types. Plus is $4.99/month or $49.90/year and adds ad removal, Loop, Monitor, Schedule, and Page/State Guard. Pro is $9.99/month or $99.90/year and adds Google Sheets, Discord, captcha solving, OpenAI, and priority support. Plus and Pro each have a 14-day trial, with payments through Dodo Payments ([upgrade-plan](https://getautoclicker.com/docs/5.x/about/upgrade-plan/)). In other words, features that used to be free, like Sheets, scheduling, and loops, were moved into paid tiers, monetizing existing users' dependence.

- Risk: the rating is only 3.2. Charging for features that were once free invites bad reviews and pushes users toward clones. Revenue is not public (there's no TrustMRR record, and the founder hasn't shared revenue).

### 6. Differentiation

- Compared with plain auto-clickers, it adds form filling, Google Sheets-driven data, conditional logic, and scheduling, making it a "light RPA" tool. Compared with Automa, UI.Vision, or Axiom, it's simpler to get started with: you right-click an element to configure it, with no building block flows. It's also cheaper, starting at $49.90 per year.

- But this differentiation has existed for years, and the user count has stayed around 200k, so **it is not the reason for this recent ranking climb** . The climb came from the technical traffic generated after v5 added accounts, subscriptions, and telemetry.

### 7. How many people see it and whether anyone follows

- Visibility: still low. Only a small circle of users knows it, plus sporadic recommendations on Reddit. No media outlet or big X account has written about it, and revenue is not public.

- Copycats: the category already has many clones ("Auto Clicker", "Simple Auto Clicker", and others, with a batch of thousand-user extensions launched over 2025–2026 years), but no one has been spotted chasing this move to paid pricing specifically.

### 8. What to borrow

- The configuration console lives on a web page on its own domain (stable.getautoclicker.com), and the extension only executes. This allows fast UI iteration, accounts, and subscriptions, and it also builds domain authority along the way.

- The playbook for an established free tool going paid: keep core features free forever, put advanced features (scheduling, loops, data sources, AI, captcha) into $5/month and $10/month tiers, then add ad removal, a 14-day trial, and annual discounts. Pair it with a long founder post explaining "why we're charging" to reduce user backlash.

- Lesson for the recall system: **Tranco overstates domains with large extension install bases that also have telemetry or background connections** . When recalling, filter using whether CrUX tiers rose at the same time; for these domains, look for the shape of "a sudden jump followed by a plateau".

### 9. Uncertain

- Without the v4 package, we can't directly prove that telemetry and background connections were newly added in v5. We can only infer it from timing and curve shape.

- Paid conversion and revenue are entirely unknown.

- The 200k user count is the Chrome Web Store's bucketed display, so whether users churned after v5 can't be seen. Our library only has daily records starting from 11-01.

- The cause of the CrUX tier jump in Taiwan (from top 500k to top 100k) is unknown. It could be a local ticketing or slot-grabbing use case, or just volatility in the tail of the ranking.
