One link for the whole class's homework: a Saudi teacher's app "كشوف" surged on free tool sites and back-to-school season

What it is A classroom management subscription app used by Saudi primary and secondary teachers (roll call, grading, marking, one-click sync with the Ministry of Education system). Its website is now a free weekly planner, worksheets, a question bank tool site, and a student assignment portal.

Why it took off Saudi's back-to-school season lifted the whole education site cluster. In August it turned the website into a free generator for documents every teacher must submit each semester; in October it added a student space with "one link for the whole class", so one teacher brings in an entire class of visits. Distribution came from the founder's TikTok with 96k followers and teachers filming tutorials on their own.

CHow you could approach it Don't go head-to-head in Saudi Arabia. In another country with a unified ministry platform and standard paperwork, if you're already inside the teacher community, start with a no-sign-up generator for mandatory documents and a one-link class assignment page. Concentrate video and limited free launches around the school start, then turn classroom management into a subscription app.

Grade C: the Saudi local market is already crowded, and its core advantages (a founder with built-in channels and 6 years of users) aren't available to followers, and revenue looks modest. What you can take away is the playbook of "free mandatory-document tool site + one teacher reaching a whole class", but applying it in another country requires you to be personally embedded in that country's teacher community. Whispered about in small circles

Global rank 257k · 90 days ago, top 1M+

A Saudi teacher app that's been around for 6 years switched its website this August to a free tool site with no sign-up required. In October it added a "link for students to submit homework." Its global ranking went from roughly #1M (947k place) in Oct, 16, to 257k place by Nov, 5. Half of that is back-to-school season, and similar sites are all climbing too. The other half is two things it got right. The hardest part to copy, though, is that the founder is himself a well-known figure in Saudi teacher circles.

A class of students memorizes "Al-Nas" at home

In November 3, founder Fahad Al-Naim posted a short message on his Telegram channel: "Student space. Memorize Surat An-Nas. All students memorize this chapter at home, and the recording goes straight into your كشوف."

This feature went live in October 22. The post that day said teachers can attach images, audio, video, PDFs or links to students, "best of all: all classes share one link; students open it, pick their class and name, and start the assignment directly". Two days later it added: "An upgraded Padlet: all of a class's assignments and tasks, one link, use it for a whole year."

Behind this feature is a product almost nobody noticed: كشوف (Kushoof, pronounced "Kushoof", Arabic for "register, list"), a classroom management app used by Saudi primary and secondary teachers. It isn't new: it was on Google Play and the App Store by July 2020. What's new is its website.

What it is

A "classroom all-in-one" for teachers: roll call, awarding stars and scores, behavior logging, random-name games, scanning barcode answer sheets (similar to the US Plickers), photo-based auto-grading, portfolios, and reports for parents. Most importantly, it can push grades into the national grading system Noor in one click and send lesson plans to the Ministry's learning platform Madrasati. The official site lists more than 40 features and is available on Android, iOS, Huawei and Windows.

Not huge, but steady: the App Store Saudi storefront has 15.7k cumulative ratings (11-07), and Google Play shows 112k installs at 4.42 stars (11-07). The site claims "100k+ teachers use it" (self-reported, unverified). The developer looks like a small individual or family team, with a gmail contact address.

Money comes from iOS subscriptions: 19.99 riyals a month or 99.99 riyals a year (about $27, per the Saudi App Store page). It has never charted in Saudi's Top Grossing, only in education Top Grossing lists in Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman, ranking in the 100s. Revenue is unlikely to be large (inferred).

Why now

The first layer is back-to-school season, which lifted everyone. Saudi's new school year starts in late August. Comparing global website rankings from November 5 and 30 days earlier: the Ministry's learning platform madrasati.sa rose from 10k to the 2 thousands; the lesson-prep resource site tahdiri.com went from 197k to 98k; the weekly planner form site edu-forms.com went from 870k to 250k. kushoof.net's ranking nearly 4-fold, and a large part of that is seasonal.

The second layer is the extra bit it added on its own. Mid-last-year, kushoof.net sat in the "top 1M globally" tier in Chrome's real-user statistics; this September it jumped into the "top 100k" tier. Both are mid-semester, yet they differ by an order of magnitude. The difference comes from two things:

  • Aug 15: the website became a free tool site. That day's post read: "The كشوف website is live, with all textbooks, weekly study plans, course schedules and worksheets free to download." Over the next two months it added a question bank, practice for the national Nafs exam, "any file to QR code", and lesson observation templates. All of these are things Saudi teachers must submit every semester, in the Ministry's format and with the national emblem, and they can be generated and printed without signing up. This kind of demand is high-frequency, clusters around the start of the school year, and gets searched.
  • Oct 22: the student space went live. The site got its first student and parent visitors. A single teacher shares one link, and behind it dozens or hundreds of students click in daily to submit work. One B-side user, an entire class of C-side traffic.

The third layer is distribution, and it costs almost nothing. The founder has 96k followers on TikTok and 760k likes, with a bio reading "tech expert, covering tech, education, apps, games." His Telegram channel has 17.7k subscribers. From October to November he posted a new classroom mini-game almost every other day (Treasure Island, Detective Conan, Deep-Sea Bubbles, Wrestling Arena), with 1 to 4 thousand views per post. We found no paid ads for it in the public ad libraries (not finding them doesn't mean there were none).

Beyond that, teachers spread it themselves. Searching "تطبيق كشوف" on TikTok turns up a pile of unofficial tutorials: one account, khj.live, has 34k plays, and another account's "Kushoof workshop" video has 31k plays. Saudi teachers have to run in-school training workshops and build portfolios every semester, so the founder simply released a ready-made "Kushoof workshop kit" for teachers to present, which amounts to doing field marketing for it.

The promos are timed well too: Aug 17 "free for all users for a limited time, back-to-school", Sep 18 Saudi National Day promo with a 4% off code K40, valid for 48 hours.

What teachers say

Reviews on the Saudi App Store from October to November are mostly five-star one-liners. The long ones are worth reading:

  • "Using it for over a year, honestly great. It gets updated regularly, and if you suggest things to them, as long as they help teachers, they actually build them in." (10-27, five stars)
  • "I subscribed just to use the Nafs practice. The sixth-grade math questions don't cover the whole semester yet. Please update the questions." (10-31)
  • "Auto-grading only gives each question 1 points. I wish you could change the point values." (The same three-star reviewer posted this 10-27 and 11-01 times.)
  • "Updates are way too frequent. It pops up update prompts while I'm in the middle of teaching." (10-11, three stars)
  • "Scam. I subscribed for a year and cancelled after using it for a short while." (10-31, one star)

Reading through these, teachers credit it for "it listens to us" and "it has everything." The complaints cluster around an incomplete question bank, inflexible grading, and problems with subscriptions and sync. It's a product with a very wide feature set where each piece is about 70 to 80 out of 100.

Who it's competing with

Saudi teacher tools are a small local niche that's already crowded, and most are local versions of foreign products:

There are also two name-squatters: kshuf.sa (same name, كشوف, sending parent notifications via WhatsApp) and kushoofapp.com "مصمم الكشوف" (2,000 Chrome users). Having its name squatted suggests it has search volume in this niche.

No single feature is unique. What's distinctive is three things together: one app that does it all, a free web tool with a student entry point, and the founder's own content channel plus 6 years of word of mouth. Competitors can copy the first two. They can't copy the third.

If it were you

Verdict: Going head-to-head with it in Saudi Arabia isn't worth it. What's worth taking from it is the playbook: in a country where the education ministry runs an official system, build free tool sites for teachers around "documents teachers must submit," then use a student assignment link to multiply one teacher into a whole class. That playbook requires you to be inside that country's teacher community yourself.

Who it fits: You're a teacher, or you have a group of teachers around you, your native language is that of a country with a unified education ministry platform and standard paperwork formats (plausible candidates, unverified competition: UAE, Kuwait, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Indonesia, Vietnam), and you can make short videos explaining features yourself.

Who it doesn't fit: Outsiders who don't know the local ministry formats and processes; anyone aiming at the global English market (ClassDojo, Padlet, and Google Classroom already own it); anyone who wants to make money from a single feature (teachers are reluctant to pay for single-point plugins, and in Saudi Arabia most of the dozen-plus lesson-planning plugins have only a few thousand users).

How to build it: Don't start with an app. Build a no-signup website covering only one or two documents that local teachers must submit every semester, with fixed formats that are currently laid out by hand (weekly plans, progress trackers, grade analysis, portfolio covers). Generate them and let people download Word/PDF directly. Second step: add an assignment collection page with "one link for the whole class," where students pick their name and submit audio or photos. Once teachers are using it regularly, turn attendance, grading, and sending parent reports into a subscription app. For pricing, use its model as a reference: around $27 a year, with the monthly price set high as an anchor that makes the annual plan look cheap.

How to get users: Starting two to three weeks before school opens, post demo videos on TikTok and Telegram along the lines of "build a weekly plan in 30 seconds"; offer a free workshop kit for teachers to present at school training sessions; make all features free during the first week of school, and run a 48-hour discount code once mid-semester or around National Day.

When to launch by: In most countries the new school year starts in 8 to September, and the second semester in 1 to February. To catch the second semester, have a working tool page and start posting videos by late December; if you miss it, aim for the August school-start season in 2027 and go live by July.

Signs you've misread this: ① After the mid-term exams in December and during the January winter break, kushoof.net's ranking falls back to beyond 500k, meaning this wave was mostly driven by the back-to-school season and the tool site alone doesn't retain users. ② The Saudi Ministry of Education builds assignment links or weekly plan generation into Madrasati itself, and the supplementary layer gets absorbed by the official system. ③ You search the target country and find three or four free weekly-plan sites already running paid ads and occupying the first page of results. That country is already too late.

كشوف (Kushoof, kushoof.net): why it worked

Research date 2026-11-07. Data comes from our traffic / appstore / googleplay / chromestore databases (as of 2026-11-07), plus the official site, the founder's Telegram channel, TikTok (TikHub), and Jina search.

Bottom line

This is not a new product. It's a Saudi teacher classroom-management app that launched in 2020 and has been running for 6 years (iOS Saudi store 15.7k ratings, subscription, annual fee SAR 99.99). Its site ranking climbed for two reasons stacked together:

  1. The new Saudi school year starting (1448 school year, classes start late August). Other Saudi education sites climbed over the same period, so this part is seasonal.
  2. Starting Aug 15 the site was rebuilt as a free teacher tool site with no signup (weekly plans, course schedules, practice sheets, textbook PDF downloads, question banks, Nafs national-test practice, file-to-QR). In October it added "Student Space": students submit homework, dictations and memorization through one link in the browser. For the first time the site got student-side traffic, and one teacher can bring in a whole class.

Distribution runs through founder Fahad Al-Naim (فهد النعيم), a Saudi education/tech creator: 96k TikTok followers, 17.7k Telegram channel subscribers. Teachers also post tutorials on their own and present Kushoof at school "teaching workshops". No ad activity found in the ad libraries.

1. What it is

  • A classroom-management app for Saudi (and Gulf) K-12 teachers: roll call, stars/scores, behavior logs, random-picker mini-games, barcode answer sheets (Plickers-style), photo auto-grading, portfolios (ملف الإنجاز), parent reports, syncing grades into the Ministry's Noor system, and lesson planning on the Ministry's Madrasati platform. The site lists 40 features and runs on Android / iOS / Huawei / Windows, with multi-device login. Source: kushoof.net.
  • Developer: the App Store listing is under Abdullaziz Alnaiem (the founder's full name is "فهد بن عبدالعزيز", so this is likely his father's name or a family account). The Play package is com.tqnee.kushoof and the contact email is a Gmail address, which suggests an individual or small team. He also has "أثر المعلم" (2026-08-17 listed; iOS + Chrome + Firefox extensions that auto-fill lesson plans into Madrasati) and "سجلات / Sjelat".
  • Pricing: iOS in-app subscriptions, SAR 19.99 per month, 3 months 39.99, six months 59.99, one year 99.99 (App Store Saudi page). The Google Play listing shows no in-app purchases (offers_iap=False in the library), so how Android is charged is unverified.
  • The domain kushoof.net was registered in 2023-08-28 (RDAP). It is not an aged domain that changed hands. CrUX 2026-05 already had it in the global top 1M (the best origin at the time was stage.kushoof.net).

2. Data: the site is growing, the app base is solid

Website (traffic library)

  • Tranco: 2026-10-16 first entered the top 1M (946,663), then kept rising almost daily, 11-05 to 257,172. Tranco is a 30-day rolling average with a 1–2 week lag, so real traffic likely started in late September to early October.
  • CrUX global: 2026-05 in the top 1M bucket, 2026-08 in the top 1M bucket, 2026-09 in the top 100k bucket. de / gb / fr first entered the top 1M the same month, possibly Saudi teachers and students abroad, or noise from the tail of country rankings, unverified.
  • Same-period comparison (note: part of this is back-to-school season): Tranco 11-05 rank vs. about 30 days ago / about 90 days ago
    • madrasati.sa (Ministry of Education learning platform): 10,633 → 2,041; early August it was 4,381
    • ien.edu.sa (Ministry of Education iEN channel): 873,611 → 248,611
    • tahdiri.com (lesson-planning resource site): 197,100 → 97,835; early August it was 486,614
    • edu-forms.com (weekly plans and other forms): 871,407 → 248,290
    • wepal.net:642,506 → 221,586
    • Takeaway: the whole group of Saudi education tool sites surged after school started, so a large share of kushoof's "×3.9" is seasonal. What sets it apart from peers: last year in the same term (2026-05, mid-semester) it sat only in the 1M bucket, and this September it rose to the 100k bucket, which means it has new traffic sources this year compared with last year (see section 4).

App (appstore / googleplay libraries)

  • iOS Saudi store: ratings 14.4k (10-28) → 15.7k (11-07), up 1,265 in 10 days, a pace of about 920 per 7 days; Education free chart #31–49. Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman charted in the Education Top Grossing category (#111–195), but the Saudi store never reached the overall Top Grossing chart.
  • Google Play: installs 112,111 (100K+ bucket), up 1,147 in 7 days; rating 3,072,4.42; #95 on the Saudi Education free chart.
  • Self-reported on the site: 100k+ teachers using it; 100k+ downloads on the App Store, 50k+ on Google Play, 15k+ on AppGallery, 20k+ on the Microsoft Store.
  • Chrome extension "كشوف (تحضير الدروس)": 2026-08-15 release, 1,000 users, 3.4 rating (chromestore library). Permissions cover madrasati.sa, noor.moe.gov.sa and kushoof.net, meaning it auto-fills lesson plans into government platforms.

Where the traffic lands: users and revenue sit in the app (mainly iOS). The website used to be little more than the app's landing page; from August it became a free tool site plus a student homework entry point. This ranking rise comes from actual use of the web pages, not the app backend: CrUX measures real Chrome page visits, and requests from the extension don't count.

3. Timeline (founder's Telegram channel t.me/s/fahadalnaim)

  • 2020-07 / 08: listed on Google Play and the App Store.
  • 2026-02 to 04: a run of features including "جداريات" (a Padlet clone), Plickers-style barcode quizzes, reward stickers and portfolios, with 4–6K views per post.
  • 2026-08-15: "كشوف website is live, all textbooks, weekly study plans, course schedules and practice sheets free to download", link kushoof.net/#tools (post 969,5.1K views).
  • 2026-08-17: "For the start of school, Kushoof is free for all users for a limited time" (post 970,5.49K views). A later tweet said "plans extended for everyone" (an X snippet from Jina search results).
  • 2026-08-20 / 21: free lesson-planning features (Safari / Chrome extensions in the app) that send weekly plans straight to Madrasati. Also launched the "أثر المعلم" app.
  • 2026-08-30: "All these services are free: lesson planning, course schedules, practice sheets, weekly plans, textbooks, grade analysis, QR generation, project execution reports, teacher space."
  • 2026-09-18: Saudi National Day, subscriptions with a 40% discount code K40, valid for 48 hours.
  • 2026-10-08: "Ready-made question banks for every subject, free", on the website.
  • 2026-10-18: "Convert any file to a QR code for free", at kushoof.net. Same day it launched lesson-observation records and teacher-community templates.
  • 2026-10-22 / 24: "Student Space". Teachers can attach images, audio, video and PDFs; every class shares one link, and students pick their class and name to submit work directly. Pitched as "Padlet upgraded: one link for a whole class's homework, usable all year." 11-04 One case: a whole class memorized a Quran surah at home and submitted it through Kushoof.
  • 10–November: a classroom mini-game every day or two (treasure island, Conan the detective, deep-sea bubbles, wrestling arena) and Nafs star badges. Also sells physical teaching aids (the "خلك معي" store at ifaa-store.com).

4. Why it took off

  1. Old product, old users, old channel, timed to the school season. The 15k+ iOS ratings and 100k teacher users built up over 6 years come back in force every August. Peers madrasati.sa, tahdiri.com and edu-forms.com were rising in the same period (traffic library), which is the backdrop to the ranking gain.
  2. This year the site became a free tool site plus a student entry point, which adds a new layer. The signup-free tools from 8-15 solve things Saudi teachers must hand in every term: weekly plans and schedules in the Ministry format with its crest, textbook PDFs, practice sheets, question banks, Nafs national-test practice. These are high-frequency, seasonal, searchable needs. October's "Student Space" and "file-to-QR" pull students and parents onto kushoof.net too, so one teacher can mean dozens or hundreds of student visits. CrUX moving from the 1M bucket last mid-semester to the 100k bucket this September is the change that best explains the gap.
  3. The founder himself is a channel. Fahad Al-Naim has 96,479 TikTok followers, 760k likes and 328 videos; his bio reads "tech expert, covering technology, education, apps and games", based in Al-Ahsa. The Telegram channel has 17.7k subscribers, with 1–7K views per post. One of his 2025-11 videos got 112k plays, and another got 42k plays and 606 shares (TikHub) 2026-11-05.
  4. Teachers spread it on their own, plus the school-workshop scenario. Searching TikTok for "تطبيق كشوف" turns up a lot of unofficial tutorials: khj.live with 34k plays, rtschooly's "كشوف workshop" with 31k, and waleed.math, waniam.com and t_amalalharthi also posting. Saudi teachers need school teaching workshops and portfolios, and the founder released a "ready-made Kushoof workshop pack" (X post 2098140483608363469). Teachers who present it with that material are doing its promotion for it.
  5. Free to attract users, subscriptions to earn. The tools are free, free for a limited time at the start of school, 4% off for National Day, and monetized through iOS subscriptions (SAR 99.99 a year, about US$ 27). The ad libraries (metaads / googleads / tiktokads) have no ad records for it, and the data card shows no ads.

5. Competitors

Saudi teacher tools are a crowded local niche:

  • Classroom management / grades apps: كشف Kashf.app (web + iOS; its iOS id only appeared 6780826150 years ago, in 2026), راصد (Windows), طلابي italaby.com, TeacherApp (almaydanedu, free during launch), Teacher Kit (a long-running global app), ClassDojo (a global giant, weak in Arabic and Saudi localization).
  • Madrasati lesson-prep extensions: tahdiri.com (100K Chrome users, Tranco rank 98K, bigger than the kushoof site), مدرستي بلس autorasd.com (40K Chrome users, paid), thder.com (paid, with a free trial), التحضير بلو, fu-techno, and over a dozen small extensions from the Chrome Web Store library, including مُعدّ, نسق and ركيز المعلم, which appeared between 2026 and 9 and into November.
  • Weekly plan / forms sites: edu-forms.com (Tranco 248k, climbed from 870k in the same period as kushoof), n55.in, khotatty.org, Canva templates, and Twinkl's Saudi site (400k rank).
  • Official platforms: the Ministry's Madrasati (LMS, with built-in homework), Noor (grades system) and iEN (education channel). Kushoof is a support layer plugged into these two official systems, not competing with them.
  • Name clashes: kshuf.sa (another "كشوف", Chrome extension Kshuf v.29, sends parents WhatsApp notifications) and kushoofapp.com "مصمم الكشوف" (Chrome 2,000 users, 2025-05 release). This shows the name has real search volume among Saudi teachers.

What sets it apart: no single feature is unique. Lesson-planning extensions, weekly plan generators, Padlet, Plickers and random pickers all exist, and most are local versions of foreign products. Its edge is three things combined:

  • One app covers everything a teacher needs in class, plus four platforms and multi-device sync;
  • Free web tools + a student entry point that turn the website from an app landing page into something people use every day;
  • The founder is a known figure in the community, and 6 years of brand building that most peers don't have.

The first two explain why this ranking climbed further than peers', and the third explains how it did so without paid ads.

7. How visible it is

  • No public revenue (not listed on TrustMRR, no revenue disclosed), no English media coverage, and x-radar corpus returns nothing within 60 days.
  • Well known within Saudi teacher circles: the founder is a figure in the community, people copy the product name, and teachers make tutorials on their own. Essentially invisible outside that (including going-global and indie dev circles). Filed under "chatter in a small circle."

8. What to borrow

  • Turn the App's website into a free tool site with no sign-up, targeting the formatted documents every teacher must submit each term: weekly plans, progress sheets, practice exams, templates with the Ministry of Education crest. Capture seasonal search traffic and word of mouth, then funnel users to the subscription App.
  • Build a student entry point that works as "one teacher brings one class" (assignment links, QR codes), turning B2B users into an amplifier for C-end traffic.
  • Embed into the official system's workflow (Madrasati / Noor plugins), doing the auxiliary layer the official systems don't.
  • Concentrate effort in back-to-school season: free access to drive sign-ups, holiday discount codes to convert.
  • Give teachers ready-made training material so they promote you while teaching in school workshops.
  • This presupposes the founder is already inside this audience and has their own content channels. That's hard for others to copy.

9. Uncertain

  • How much of site traffic comes from tool pages, student spaces, and the lesson-prep extension API (only domain-level rankings available, no path-level data).
  • Revenue: on iOS, it only charted in Education Top Grossing in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman; the Saudi store never reached Top Grossing. Subscription conversion rate unknown; Android pricing model not verified.
  • Whether the de / gb / fr traffic in the top 1M CrUX tier is real overseas users or noise.
  • The "100K+ teachers" claim and store download numbers are self-reported by the official site.
  • Whether rankings hold after back-to-school season ends (December midterms, end of term) needs another 4–6 weeks of data.
