MaxPlayer: IPTV M3U Player (maxplayer.tv) · maxplayer.tv

Rivals get pulled one by one, but it's still in the stores: an Austrian small company's IPTV player, with pirate sellers doing its marketing

What it is A playback-only IPTV player: users load their own purchased playlists. One account is €1.5/month, synced across 5 devices. It covers Samsung, LG, Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV, phones and PCs, and gives IPTV sellers a backend for opening accounts.

Why it took off Over the past 2026 years, rights holders and platforms have pulled IPTV players one after another. Fire TV's new OS blocks sideloading, and Roku was closed to begin with. It arrived on Roku in September and on Amazon's Vega in October, becoming one of the few options still in official stores. Add sellers using its backend to open accounts for their customers, and its global site ranking climbed from #105k to #50k in a month.

CHow to play it: Don't build another player. Copy how it's played: find a B2B niche that already pays and lacks delivery tools, and sell them a back office and an API that bring in customers for you. If you want to stay in this category, build what it gets wrong: a multi-panel account-provisioning and billing back office for resellers, or a TV experience that actually works, with native-language support.

Grade C: the playbook of "use B2B as a distribution channel and bet on platform rule changes" is worth studying, but IPTV players are already crowded. Its edge is the ten platform listings it built up over five years, and the rights-holder crackdown that boosted it could just as easily hit followers. Copying it isn't worth much. MaxPlayer is an IPTV player from a small Vienna company called eGalactic. It ships with no channels at all: users load their own purchased playlists for €1.5 a month. The product has existed for 2021 years, and its traffic was flat for four of them. It took off in autumn 2026, not because of anything it did itself. Rights holders and platforms kept cleaning up IPTV players. Smarters and TiviMate disappeared from stores, new Fire TVs blocked sideloading, and Roku stayed closed. That left it as one of the few players still findable in every major official store. On top of that, it built an account backend for IPTV sellers, and sellers send their customers straight to it. The lessons here are clear, but anyone who wants to follow first has to figure out whether they can stand on this gray ground.

"Official, backed by Google"

In July 2026 10, a Spanish user gave MaxPlayer five stars on Google Play. The review wasn't about picture quality or the interface: "I don't know why anyone gives it bad reviews. It works well on smart TVs and phones, it's completely official and safe, backed by Google, unlike those modded APKs that steal all your household device info."

That line captures its situation this year. In markets like Spain, Italy and Brazil, many people pay a dozen-odd euros to a "seller" for an IPTV subscription with thousands of paid channels, new movies and every La Liga match. Players existed already: TiviMate, IPTV Smarters, XCIPTV, either downloaded from stores or sideloaded as APKs. By 2026, that path kept narrowing.

Two months later, in September 15, MaxPlayer posted a short article on its site: "MaxPlayer is now on Roku. That's bigger than it sounds: Roku is a closed platform with strict rules, and most IPTV players you know from other devices, including TiviMate and IPTV Smarters, can't get into its channel store." In October 11 it posted again about its version for Amazon's new Vega system, saying it was tuned together with the Amazon team.

What it is

A player that only plays. Users enter their own M3U links or Xtream Codes accounts, and it organizes live TV, VOD, series, catch-up and EPGs. One account supports up to 5 sub-users, with favorites and progress synced across all devices. The official FAQ repeats one line: we don't provide channels, and we don't sell subscriptions.

Its platform coverage is among the broadest in the category: Samsung and LG TVs, Fire TV (both the old OS and Vega), Android TV, Apple TV, iPhone, Android phones, Windows, MAG set-top boxes, and Roku, which arrived in September.

Pricing (official site, as of November): a free 7-day trial limited to 1 device; afterward €1.50/month for 5 devices or €2.50/month for 7 devices. Sign-up and payment both happen on the web account center my.maxplayer.tv through Stripe.

It also has a B2B product, and this is the key part: IPTV providers can apply for a "Provider" account and manage their own users and sub-resellers from one panel. They can plug in their IPTV panel API for one-click import and automatic account creation, and even decide what appears on the app's home screen or move users to a new domain in one click. White-labeling is available too, but the bar is high: over 500k users and a signed contract.

Why now

The rivals got pulled. In March 2026, JioStar's complaint got 36 IPTV players removed from Google Play and the App Store, including Smarters, XCIPTV and Televizo (indiantelevision.com, 03-04). In July, TiviMate disappeared from Play again (free-codecs.com, 07-28). iptvsmarters.com's global site ranking fell from #90k to #69k over 285 days.

More devices are locked down. Amazon began blocking pirated apps on Fire TV at the end of 2025. The new Fire TV Stick 4K Select moved to the Vega OS and simply can't sideload. Roku has only ever allowed installs from its store. On TV, users can only search the store for "IPTV," and fewer legitimate players turn up. MaxPlayer's September Roku launch and October Vega launch landed right in that gap.

The numbers line up. From July to early October, maxplayer.tv sat between roughly #102k and #107k in the global site ranking. Starting around Oct 12, it climbed a thousand or two places a day, reaching #5 by Nov 49,895, more than doubling in a month. The ranking is a 30-day rolling average. Working backward, real traffic seems to have started rising in mid-to-late September, which matches the timing of the Roku launch and a "best IPTV player" comparison post.

There's a caveat: it's an account-based product, and the TV apps constantly hit maxplayer.tv's backend, which also counts toward the ranking. In Chrome's real-user data, its global tier was still stuck in the top 500k in September, so it's unclear how much of this climb came from people opening the website versus more TVs running the app.

The phone side is a supporting act. Google Play shows about 1.68M cumulative installs, with just over 10-29k added from 11-07 to 40 over nine days, roughly 4,500 a day. It ranked #6 to #8 in Spain's free "Video Players & Editors" chart, #9 to #10 in Italy and #18 to #28 in Brazil (Google Play, 11-01 to 11-07). iOS is tiny, with only about 180 ratings each in Italy and Spain. The main battlefield is TV, and TV installs are invisible from the outside.

Where users come from: the people selling IPTV

The biggest channel is sellers. On YouTube in Brazil, sellers post "MAXPLAYER on an IPTV panel? Check out this new partnership!" The Spanish-speaking web has tutorials on "how to create accounts in the MaxPlayer panel." On Instagram, seller posts say "Download Max Player, contact our support for login, and get 24 hours of free trial." On TikTok, small accounts use the #maxplayer tag to sell series and TV, with a WhatsApp number in their bio.

For sellers this is a must-have: they need a player they can install on every TV in a customer's home, with accounts they can open straight from their own backend. MaxPlayer's panel plugs into the workflow they already had, so one seller can bring in a batch of paying users, and it barely spends anything on acquisition itself. The Play reviews show the same relationship. One bad review reads "Someone invited me to use this app, but at login it keeps saying all 5 slots are taken," and the official reply says "This isn't an app problem; your account is already running on 5 devices." The account was opened for him by someone else and sent over.

The second channel is store search, and the third is SEO. From late May to June 2026, it published more than a dozen "How to install IPTV on X (2026 Guide)" articles, one per platform. The official site has landing pages in 21 languages and an llms.txt file written for AI search. The blog has a "Sponsored" slot and the homepage has an "Advertisement" slot, so it sells its own traffic too.

Almost nobody outside knows about it. Revenue isn't public, nobody mentioned it on X in 90 days, and no tech outlet has covered it. It only gets scattered recommendations and complaints in IPTV seller circles and the IPTV and Fire TV subreddits.

What users are complaining about

The Play rating has 3.46,2,700 reviews, almost all in Spanish. The most-liked negative reviews cluster around a few issues:

  • Painful sign-up: "Spent ages setting up the account, and in the end I can't even log in. Total waste of time" (57 likes, the top one).
  • Shaky basics: on LG TVs, favorites deleted on one session come back the next time; on TV you can't pick an audio track or turn off subtitles, and it "gets stuck on the Spanish dub"; the Chromecast version stopped working after an update; "it won't connect once the league starts."
  • Support only on Discord: official replies almost always say "come find Alex on Discord," and some people say their tickets were closed twice.

In April, some users also complained that on Roku you have to install a paid third-party player and it often stutters. That was before the native Roku version launched.

Put simply, it wins on "you can install it and open accounts," not on being good to use.

Who it's competing with

The IBO Player familySmart TVsibo's official site ranks around #53k; IBO REVENDA in Brazil has 1.99M installs. The closest match: it also has a reseller panel, but it activates by device MAC address with a one-time purchase, and it isn't on Roku or Vega.

The "IPTV Player – Smart Live TV" typeAndroidIndividual apps at 10M–40M installsFree, funded by ads and paid acquisition, aimed at newcomers looking for free channels. It doesn't do the seller business.

The category is already crowded. MaxPlayer's difference isn't the playback experience. It's the whole package: an account model, listings in every major official store (including Roku and Vega), and a seller account backend. It took five years to assemble that package. I haven't seen copycats yet, though a Brazilian seller has registered maxplayer.site and is selling IPTV subscriptions under its name.

If it were you

In one line: C. The playbook it ran is worth learning, but copying it by building another IPTV player isn't worth the effort. The category is full, its moat is the ten platform listings it built over five years, and the force that boosted it, rights-holder crackdowns, could just as easily turn on the people who follow it.

Who it's for: small teams already in the IPTV reseller scene who know a language market (Portuguese, Arabic, Turkish, Eastern European) and can handle TV app builds and store reviews for Roku, Samsung and LG.

Who it's not for: indie devs who've never shipped a TV app (each platform has its own review process, so getting listed alone takes a year or two); anyone who can't stomach the gray zone of "neutral player, mostly pirated content"; anyone hoping to beat it on experience, since its users arrive through sellers, not by choice.

How to build it: don't make the Nth player. Go after what it does badly. Either fix what users complain about: audio and subtitle track switching on TV, favorites, Chromecast, support that replies in the user's language. Or go one level up and build the tools for sellers: account provisioning, billing, renewal reminders, and a back office that spreads across multiple players, since sellers now bounce between MaxPlayer, IBO and Smart IPTV panels. The more transferable move is the model itself: find a B2B business that already has paying customers but lacks delivery tools, then give them a back office and an API. Let them bring in users and create accounts for you. Keep unit prices low and device allowances generous so they can bundle it into their own plans.

How to get users: copy it, and target ssellers before users. Post "how to set up an account in the panel" tutorials on Portuguese and Spanish YouTube, and hand out free reseller accounts in the Telegram and WhatsApp groups where sellers gather. Bid on "IPTV" and "M3U" search terms in TV app stores. Publish one install guide per platform, plus multilingual landing pages.

When to move: the window is the stretch while rivals are delisted and haven't come back. TiviMate and Smarters have both been pulled and restored, so if you're going to move, launch before the 2027 summer season kicks off, when sellers switch players and bring in new customers most heavily. (inferred)

Signs you've misread this: ① MaxPlayer gets delisted by Roku or Amazon, which would mean the "neutral player" pitch no longer holds; ② the real-user data in the October Chrome CrUX shows its global tier hasn't moved, which would mean this surge is mostly TV backend requests, not people, so growth is less dramatic than it looks; ③ you talk to 20 to 30 sellers and they all say their current panel is good enough and they won't switch.

Why MaxPlayer (maxplayer.tv) is climbing

Research date 2026-11-07. Sources: our traffic / googleplay / appstore databases (agent-im server), the official site and third-party web pages (via Jina), TikTok (TikHub), X (x-radar).

One line

MaxPlayer is a "bring-your-own-playlist" IPTV player from eGalactic e.U., a small Austrian company in Vienna. It runs on accounts at €1.5–2.5/month and covers 10 platforms. Over the past 2026 years rights holders and platforms have kept cleaning up IPTV players: 36 players were delisted, TiviMate was pulled from Play again, Amazon blocks pirate apps on Fire TV, Vega on new Fire TV Sticks won't sideload, and Roku was closed to begin with. That left MaxPlayer as one of the few players still listed in every official store and able to run on Roku and Vega. Add a panel for IPTV sellers (account creation, bulk import, API), and sellers send their customers straight to it. Most of maxplayer.tv's traffic doesn't come from the web product itself. It comes from the account center my.maxplayer.tv (signup, adding playlists, payment, TV QR login), SEO tutorial pages, and DNS traffic generated by the TV apps hitting the backend.

1. What it is

  • A player, not a content service. Users enter their own M3U or Xtream Codes. It supports EPG, on-demand, series, catch-up, 5 sub-users, multi-device sync, and 21 languages (per the official llms.txt).
  • Platforms: Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, Fire TV (both Fire OS and Vega), Android TV / Google TV, Apple TV, iOS, Android, Windows, MAG boxes, Roku (launched 2026-09-15).
  • Pricing: a free 7-day trial (1 device only), then €1.50/month for 5 devices or €2.50/month for 7. Payments run through Stripe; signup and payment both happen at my.maxplayer.tv (pricing section of the official site).
  • The B2B product: "Provider" account approval takes 1–48 hours. Providers manage users and sub-resellers from one panel, connect to IPTV panel APIs (one-click import, automatic account creation), decide what appears on the app home screen, and migrate users to a new domain in one click. White-label requires 500k+ users and a signed contract (maxplayer.tv/en/affiliate).
  • History: 2021-07 on Samsung and LG; 2021-08 started recruiting IPTV providers; 2022 added Windows and Android TV; 2023-02 came to phones; 2025-05 to Apple TV; 2026-09-15 to Roku; 2026-10-11 released the Vega version 1.2.13 (official blog). The copyright line reads "2017–2026".

Takeaway: users are concentrated in Spain, Italy, Brazil and Mexico, Latin-language markets where pirate IPTV is widespread. Nearly all Play reviews are in Spanish. Mobile is a sideshow (thousands of installs a day, tiny on iOS). The main battlefield is TVs and TV boxes (Samsung, LG, Fire TV, Roku). Our databases can't see that part, so we can only infer it indirectly from Tranco and the official site.

Lots of competitors; this category has been crowded for a while. MaxPlayer itself isn't new. What changed is the external environment.

4. Where users come from

  1. IPTV resellers (providers / revenda) are funneling customers to it (confirmed). The official site has been recruiting service providers since 2021. The provider panel lets them create accounts, bulk-import users, and hook into IPTV panel APIs. On YouTube in Brazil there's "MAXPLAYER NO PAINEL IPTV? VEJA ESSA NOVA PARCERIA!" (Cine Max Oficial, about 7 months ago, 746 views), "Max Player IPTV Panel | How to create user accounts" (in Spanish), and "Easily activate IPTV user on MaxPlayer IPTV reseller". On Instagram, a seller posted "Download Max Player, message our support to get your login activated, get 24 hours of free trial" (instagram.com/p/DPmFtTtjqFz). On TikTok, @maxonlinetv uses the #maxplayer tag to sell shows and TV (WhatsApp number in the bio, 47 followers). There's also a Play review saying "People use this app to scam money, you pay and never get an account", which also shows sellers are using it as a delivery tool.
  2. Organic search in each official store (confirmed). The new Fire TV Stick 4K Select (Vega OS) can't sideload (aftvnews.com). Amazon has been blocking pirate apps on all Fire TVs since 2025-10/11 (9to5google 2025-11-12, cordbusters). Roku has always been store-only. Smarters, XCIPTV and Televizo 2026-03 were pulled, and TiviMate 2026-07 was pulled from Play. Users can only search "IPTV" in the stores, and fewer compliant players show up there. MaxPlayer is one of the few that's listed in every store. The FAQ specifically says: "Search for MaxPlayer in the store, and write it as one word."
  3. Platform first (the timing is confirmed, the effect is inferred). 2026-09-15 shipped on Roku and wrote one line: "TiviMate and IPTV Smarters can't run on Roku." 10-11 released a Vega build, saying it was "tuned with the Amazon team." The Tranco inflection point lines up with both.
  4. SEO / GEO (confirmed in progress, effect not verified). From late 2026-05 through June it published 15 "How to install IPTV on X (2026 Guide)" articles, and in 9-17 it published comparison pieces against TiviMate / Smarters / OTT Navigator. The site has landing pages in 21 languages and an llms.txt for AI search crawlers. The blog has a "Sponsored" slot and the homepage has an "Advertisement" slot, so it's also selling its own traffic.
  5. The account model itself generates web traffic (inferred): signup, adding playlists, paying, and scanning the QR code to log in on TV all require opening my.maxplayer.tv. The TV app also keeps calling maxplayer.tv's backend. Tranco includes DNS data sources like Cloudflare and Umbrella, while CrUX global still sits around the top 500k, unchanged since September. So part of the October climb may come from backend requests from more TV devices, not only people browsing.
  6. Not on X (90 posts in x-radar over 0 days). Found no media or big accounts writing about it.

5. Why it took off

  • Rivals got delisted; it stayed in the stores: Smarters, XCIPTV, Televizo, VU (March), and TiviMate (July) were pulled one after another in 2026. iptvsmarters.com fell in Tranco from 69k to 285k, while maxplayer.tv rose from 104k to 50k over the same period. MaxPlayer has always stressed that it "ships no content," and because it goes through official store review on every platform, it survived these rounds of cleanup.
  • More closed platforms, and it covers all of them: Vega-based Fire TV Sticks can't sideload, Amazon blocks pirate apps, and Roku has always been closed. MaxPlayer hit Roku in September and Vega in October. The inflection comes right after.
  • Sellers distribute it for them: IPTV sellers want a player that installs on every customer's TV and lets them create accounts from a backend. MaxPlayer's provider panel + API plug into the sellers' existing workflow. One seller can bring a batch of paying users, and MaxPlayer barely spends on acquisition itself.
  • Where the money comes from: end users pay €1.5–2.5 a month (sellers may cover it, or users may pay directly; unverified). Each account allows 5–7 devices, so "users" far exceed Play installs.

6. Differentiation

  • The real differentiation is the combo of "account model + official listing on every platform (including Roku / Vega) + seller backend", not playback quality. TiviMate plays better but is Android TV only. IBO-family apps also have reseller panels, but they activate by MAC address and aren't on Roku or Vega. Smarters has broad coverage, but it got delisted.
  • This differentiation is why it took off, but it only paid off with external events (delistings, closed platforms). It has had this setup since 2021. For 4 years its traffic stayed flat around 100k, and it only took off when the environment changed in 2026 autumn.

7. How many people have seen it

  • Revenue isn't public; TrustMRR and the founder haven't shared any. X discussion: 0. No tech press coverage found. People mention it in IPTV seller circles and on Reddit's IPTV subs (scattered recommendations and complaints on r/ios, r/firestick, and r/askcroatia). Verdict: it's circulating in small circles (sellers and IPTV users), and the wider public mostly doesn't know it.
  • Copycats: none found copying this exact model. There is name-riding, though: a Brazilian seller site, maxplayer.site, sells IPTV subscriptions under the "Max Player" name (with a 4-hour free trial). Also, new Apple TV players like Velko are chasing the search term "Smarters delisted" and competing for the same wave of displaced users.

8. What to borrow

  • Treat B2B as the distribution channel: give people who already have users (here, IPTV sellers) a backend and an API so they bring in and provision users for you. Set a high bar for white-labeling (500k+ users) so small sellers don't all make white-label versions and scatter the main brand.
  • Bet on platform rule changes: get compliant listings first on closed platforms (Roku, Vega, TV stores). When a rival gets delisted, search demand flows over on its own.
  • Trade a low unit price for multi-device: €1.5/month, 5 devices, so sellers can bundle it into their own packages.
  • One "How to install IPTV on X" guide per platform, plus multilingual landing pages and llms.txt, to capture long-tail search cheaply.

9. Still unclear

  • How much of the Tranco climb is people browsing versus backend DNS from TV apps: the October CrUX data isn't out yet. Check again after mid-December to see whether the global tier rises.
  • Real install base and paying-user counts on TVs (Samsung / LG / Roku / Fire TV) are unknown. Whether sellers or users pay is also unknown.
