# Happy Mom: a decade-old pregnancy app's mom forum, its site ranking up 2.7× in three months, yet no more new moms

**What it is** The official site and mom forum for Happy Mom, a pregnancy tracking app from Turkey that has been around for ten years. The forum is grouped by due-date month and by province.

**Why it went viral** It didn't really get popular: after the February 2026 App redesign, the forum inside the App probably switched to opening in a browser, so millions of old users' forum visits got counted as web traffic for the first time (inferred). Forum posts and App downloads didn't grow.

**C** **How you could play it** Don't try to take a slice of their Turkish market. Copy the product structure: pick a smaller-language market that has no local-language mom community, use a pregnancy tool to bring people in, auto-group them by due month to keep them, then spend two or three years turning the content into pages that can be found in search.

C grade: the rank climb is most likely a change in how traffic is counted, not a surge in demand. The real moat is a decade-built Turkish-language community that followers can't replicate. Bigger local competitors exist, the tool side is being squeezed by paid-acquisition apps, and community monetization is thin. Few people know about this yet

Global rank 270k · 90 days ago 721k

mutluanneleriz.com is the official site and forum for Happy Mom, a Turkish pregnancy app. From July to November this year, it climbed in global site rankings from 720k to 270k. Dig in, and forum posting is falling and new app installs are flat. The extra visits look more like long-time users arriving through a new door: the app's forum now opens on the web. This piece explains what happened, then covers the part worth learning from: grouping moms into "same cohort" by due month.

### A post from the morning of Nov 7

On the morning of Nov 7, the top forum post was "Doğum korkusunu birlikte aşalım," which means "Let's get through the fear of childbirth together." The mom wrote: "My first was a girl, a normal delivery. This time it's a boy, and I'm 35 weeks in and really scared. Has anyone else felt this? How did you get through it?" It had 85 replies and 1,600 views.

Nearby posts: "What sign will the baby be" with 169 replies; "When did you start buying baby stuff? I want to get it during the November sales, but I'm worried it's too early" with 52; "How many minutes does a C-section take overall," with a reply just 3 minutes ago. The newest thread that day was number 2,386,892, meaning the forum has built up nearly 2.4M threads since it opened.

The sections in the left sidebar are worth a look: twelve groups from "January Moms" to "December Moms" by due month, a same-city group for each of Turkey's 81 provinces, plus an "Abroad" group, doctors and hospitals, high-risk pregnancy, baby names, and shopping reviews. There's also "Mutlu Anne Dükkanı" (the Happy Mom Shop), where moms running small businesses can open a store. To join, you email the company's ad address.

### What it is

Happy Mom (App Store name: Happy Mom • Hamilelik Takibi) launched in 2016. It was built by HAPPY DIGITAL, an Istanbul company whose founder is Volkan Ekiz. The app tracks pregnancy day by day, with "What your baby says today," kick counting, a name-spinner, articles, and the forum. In February this year, version 4.0 added an AI assistant.

The website has three parts: www is a daily-updated pregnancy article blog; the forum subdomain is the forum described above; and there's a separate image host just for uploading pictures to the forum.

The same company also makes Happy Kids (infant development), Peride (period tracking), Adım Sayar (step counter), and Tellwe (coffee fortune-telling). In November 5, it also released Happy Life on the App Store for older users (medication reminders, blood pressure logging, brain-training games). It's a company running a portfolio of "Turkish family" apps, and Happy Mom is the eldest brother.

### Rank up 2.7x, but no more people

First, how much the website grew:

| | Metric | Sources |
|---|---|---|
| Global website rank | 7-30 about 687k → 9-24 about 389k → 11-07 about 270k, up 2.7× in 90 days | Tranco daily rank |
| Chrome real-user traffic bands | Turkey: 5 and June in the top 50k, then into the top 10k from July; global: top 1M → top 500k; Netherlands and Germany also entered the rankings from August (likely Turks living there) | Chrome User Experience Report, 2026-05 to 09 |
| Which part grew | From 5 through September, the forum subdomain got the most visits every month, not the blog | Same as above |

Now the people side:

| | Metric | Sources |
|---|---|---|
| Google Play installs | 1.83M cumulative, +1,876 in the last 7 days, about 270 a day | Google Play,11-06 |
| Google Play rating | 20,811 ratings, 4.59 points; #13 in Turkey's free Parenting chart | Google Play,11-06 |
| App Store Turkey | 16,971 ratings, 5 to 15 new per day; #5 in the free Medical chart | App Store,11-06 |
| total users | "4M+", with the iOS share rising every year | founder's LinkedIn, 2025-01 |
| Revenue | Under $5,000 a month on Android (estimated) | AppGazers, as of 10-11 |

You can work backward from thread numbers to estimate posting volume: thread #1M was posted in November 2021, #1.5M in March 2023, #2M in November 2024, and #2.38M in October 2026. Converted to new threads per month: about 31k in 2023, about 19k in 2025, and about 12k as of October this year. Down 60% in three years.

A mature app adding just two or three hundred installs a day, a forum whose post volume has fallen 60% over three years, and a site whose ranking jumped 2.7× in three months. One of these has a cause that isn't "going viral."

### Where the extra visits came from: the in-app forum moved to the web (inference)

The clue is in the App Store reviews. This February, Happy Mom shipped a 4.0 major redesign. In the months after, the reviews kept saying the same thing:

- "Son güncellemeden sonra forum açılmıyor": the forum won't open after the update (version 2-23,4.0.2)

- "Boşuna güncellemeyin, forum blog kısmı hala çalışmıyor": don't bother updating, the forum and blog still don't work (4-04)

- "Güncellemeyi hiç beğenmedim, forum kısmı olmamış": I didn't like this update at all, the forum section got broken (4-16)

- "Forum sürekli sıkıntılı": the forum keeps having problems (version 7-04,4.1.1)

Lay the timeline out: the February redesign, with the forum entry breaking; in July, Turkey's band in Chrome's statistics jumped from the top 50k to the top 10k; a week or two later, global rank followed. The simplest explanation is that after the redesign, the in-app forum stopped being a native app page and started opening as a web page in the phone's browser. Chrome's stats don't count webviews inside an app; they count browser visits. Millions of long-time users who used to browse the forum "inside the app" were counted as website visits for the first time.

This is an inference. How the app actually opens the forum can't be verified from outside. Google search rank improving and bringing in new visitors is also possible, but when we searched common Turkish mom questions like "14 week bleeding" and "beta hcg 115," the site didn't appear in the top 20 results; kadinlarkulubu.com, annelertoplandik.com, and hospital sites did.

Something else happened at the same time: monetization got more aggressive. From February to July this year, of the 150 most recent App Store Turkey reviews, 81 were one-star, mostly complaining about ads: "more ads than Mackolik" (a Turkish sports-scores app notorious for its ads); reading an article now requires watching a rewarded ad; the spot where baby-development images used to sit now promotes their own Ramadan timetable and step counter; some users reported being charged 210 lira. Moving the forum onto the web may also make it easier to run more web ads and take brand deals (inference). But that makes the product weaker, not stronger.

### Where its users came from

- **A decade of long-time users** : reviews often mention "installed it again for my second and third pregnancy." Pregnancies come every few years, so one mom can use it across several rounds.

- **Store search** : searching terms like "hamilelik takibi" (pregnancy tracking) ranks it near the top. It sits at #5 in iOS's free Medical chart and #13 in Play's free Parenting chart, both organic rankings.

- **Cross-promotion across its own apps** : the official site pins 4 of its own apps, and Happy Mom promotes the Ramadan timetable and step counter inside the app.

- **Earlier brand campaigns** : in 2018 it ran a "Happy Mom Awards," letting users vote for the best parenting brands. 27,411 people voted, and the major Turkish daily Hürriyet covered it. It also ran giveaways on Instagram.

- **Weak on TikTok** : the official account has 2,381 followers and 179 videos. Occasionally moms recommend it on their own, with 17k to 110k views. No large-scale creator campaigns found.

### Who it's competing with

| Competitors | Scale | How it differs from the others |
|---|---|---|
| Gün Gün Gebelik Takibi + annelertoplandik.com | 2.45M Play installs; forum site ranks #1,000 in Turkey on Chrome traffic and about #50k globally | A carbon copy of "pregnancy app + mom forum" with a site and search traffic an order of magnitude bigger than Happy Mom's |
| kadinlarkulubu.com | Top 1,000 in Turkey, about #43k globally | A twenty-year general women's forum where pregnancy is just one section; all the long-tail search traffic belongs to it |
| Philips' Pregnancy+ | 60M installs on Play, #4 in the Turkey parenting chart | Global big-brand app, 3D fetal model, no Turkish-language community |
| Elika | 910k on Play | A local Turkish competitor, about half its size |
| Two Pregnancy Tracker apps from a Vietnamese dev | Launched in April and June this year, 4.29M / 1.17M installs, each gaining +6 to 70k over 7 days | A generic paid-acquisition-driven tool, multi-language, no community; already hit #1 and #5 in the Turkey parenting chart |
| Mucize Anne | Launched in March 2025, 38k on Play | A new Turkish-language app, pitching AI and letting partners share in |

The line to watch is the second-to-last one: a Vietnamese dev's utility app, pushed by paid acquisition this year, passed a local app that has been around for a decade on the Turkey store charts within a few months. Anyone can build the utility layer, and whoever spends the most on ads ranks first.

### The real asset is the same-due-month mothers

Set the rankings aside. What's real about Happy Mom is this: it groups users by due month.

Mothers due in the same month share the same gestational week, the same checkups, the same worries, and even the same baby age after birth. They are naturally a "cohort": they count weeks together in the group, post ultrasounds together, ask "have you started buying things yet?", and keep chatting after giving birth. The utility features (weekly development, kick counting) bring people in; the cohort keeps them, and along the way generates millions of real reviews of doctors, hospitals, formula, and strollers.

This model has worked in Turkey for ten years, and the rival annelertoplandik.com uses the same structure. Can it transfer to other smaller-language markets? The difficulties are clear too:

- Communities take years to grow. A forum in its first year is empty, and empty forums don't keep people.

- The utility half is being eaten by generic, paid-acquisition-driven apps like the Vietnamese ones, which already cover dozens of languages.

- The money is thin: Happy Mom, with ten years and 4M users, probably earns less than $5,000 a month on Android. It can only lean on ads, and too many ads erode trust.

### If it were you

**C: Worth learning from, not worth chasing.** The recent climb in website rankings most likely isn't rising demand. Older users came in through a different entry point and got counted (inference). The real asset is the Turkish mom community built over ten years, which followers can't copy; there is already a bigger local equivalent in Turkey, and the utility side is still being squeezed by paid-acquisition apps.

**Who it suits** : teams that want to build maternal-health products in a smaller-language market with no local mom community yet, and are willing to grind for two or three years, using "due-month cohorts + local groups + pregnancy tools" as the product structure.

**Who it doesn't suit** : anyone wanting to build a Turkish pregnancy app to take a slice of its market (Gün Gün and the Vietnamese utility apps are already ahead); anyone hoping to monetize the community quickly (it's been ten years, and one ad too many means a flood of one-star reviews); anyone who sees the website ranking rising and assumes new demand.

**How to do it** : first pick a pregnancy market outside English and Spanish where the stores have no local-language community. Don't start with a forum. Start with group chats that auto-sort by due month (easier to warm up than an empty forum), and keep the tools to the essentials: weekly development and checkup reminders. Once every monthly group has people talking every day, turn the best threads into searchable web pages.

**How to acquire users** : organic search rankings for local-language keywords like "pregnancy tracker" in the stores, plus mothers at the same city and hospital inviting each other. People only get pregnant once or twice, so whether you can bring them back for a second child matters more than new sign-ups.

**When to move** : no rush, this is a slow business. The only deadline: build the community in your chosen language before paid-acquisition utility apps like the Vietnamese ones flood that language.

**Signs you've read it wrong** : ① Happy Mom's daily new installs on Play climb from a few hundred to a few thousand, or the forum's new monthly posts return above 20k, meaning it's genuinely growing and not just a change in measurement; ② these long-tail pregnancy queries start pulling in lots of its forum threads on Google, meaning the climb is new users from search, and the search value of community content is higher than estimated here; ③ Vietnamese-style utility apps start adding monthly cohort communities, meaning the structure has been adopted by paid-acquisition players and the window is closing.

## mutluanneleriz.com (Happy Mom • Hamilelik Takibi) research report

> Research date 2026-11-07. Data card: Tranco 90 days 721,152 → 270,427 (×2.7), CrUX global top 1M → top 500k, TR top 50k → top 10k.

### Bottom line

This isn't a new product breaking out. Happy Mom is a pregnancy app that has been running in Turkey for ten years (launched 2016, founder says 4M+ users in total), and mutluanneleriz.com is its website, blog, and Flarum forum. Nearly all of the website ranking climb comes from the **forum subdomain** . But new forum posts have declined for two years, and App downloads are flat. So the most likely explanation is that **the traffic moved, not that users grew** : after the 4.0 major App update in 2026 February, forum-entry problems inside the app kept coming up, and it was very likely changed to open in the browser / web. Forum visits that used to count as in-app became web visits Chrome can see. This is an inference with no direct evidence. Another factor not ruled out is better search rankings, but I didn't see it on Brave.

### What it is

- **App** : Happy Mom • Hamilelik Takibi, tracks pregnancy day by day, with "messages from the baby," kick counting, a name wheel, blog, forum, and an AI assistant. Developer: HAPPY DIGITAL / MUTLU ISLER TEKNOLOJI (Istanbul, founder Volkan Ekiz). The same company also makes Happy Kids (infant development), Peride (period tracking), Adım Sayar (step counting), and Tellwe (coffee fortune-telling), and 2026-11-05 has also put a new **Happy Life: Sağlık ve Aile** on the App Store (elderly medication, blood pressure checks, brain-training mini-games) (iTunes lookup id6821864107).

- **Website** :
    - www.mutluanneleriz.com: WordPress blog with daily SEO articles (the homepage still shows new posts from 2026-11).
    - forum.mutluanneleriz.com: Flarum forum, grouped by due month (Ocak…Aralık mothers), plus tags for doctors and hospitals, high-risk pregnancy, naming, and shopping reviews. Hosted by Flarum's official host Blomstra, which says "peaks of thousands online at once" (discuss.flarum.org/d/34074).
    - Also mutluresim.com, an image host.

- **Where the traffic lands** : in CrUX, mutluanneleriz.com's best_origin is `https://forum.mutluanneleriz.com` every month from 2026-05 to 09 (traffic library, crux_domain). So the recovered climb is web visits to the forum, not the blog.

Community posting volume from 2023 to now has **dropped by 60%** , yet the site ranking jumped 2.7x from July to October of 2026. So the community isn't growing.

### Why the ranking is climbing: evidence and inference

1. **After the 4.0 major App overhaul (2026-02), the in-app forum kept breaking.** The App Store TR last 150 reviews (RSS, 2026-02-16 to 07-30) show:
    - "Son güncellemeden sonra forum açılmıyor" (The forum won't open after the latest update, 02-23, v4.0.2)
    - "Boşuna güncellemeyin forum blog kısmı hala çalışmıyor" (Don't bother updating, the forum and blog still don't work, 04-04)
    - "Uzun süredir uygulamada forum açılmıyor" (The forum hasn't opened in the app for a long time, 04-17)
    - "Güncellemeyi hiç beğenmedim forum kısmı olmamış" (I didn't like the update at all, the forum section is broken, 04-16)
    - "Forum sürekli sıkıntılı" (The forum is constantly problematic, 07-04, v4.1.1)

Looking at the timeline (February redesign → July CrUX TR jumps from the top 50k to the top 10k → Tranco follows 1–2 weeks later), the most plausible explanation is that the forum moved from native or WebView in-app pages to web pages opened via the browser / Chrome Custom Tab. CrUX doesn't count WebView but does count Chrome. That means forum visits from the existing millions of users are being seen by Chrome and Cloudflare for the first time. **Unverified:** I couldn't confirm how the App actually routes to the forum, and the forum API is blocked by Cloudflare 403.

1. **The App itself isn't growing.** Play adds about 270 per day, and iOS TR gets 5–15 new ratings per day, which is steady for a mature older App. The spillover to NL and DE is Turkish diaspora, consistent with the App's user profile.

2. **Monetization has gotten aggressive and reputation is slipping.** Of 150 recent reviews, 81 are one-star, mostly complaining about ads: "Mackolik'ten bile fazla reklam" (more ads than Mackolik), having to watch rewarded ads to unlock content, the baby photo spot taken by its own "Ramazan imsakiyesi" (Ramadan timetable) and cross-promotion for Adım Sayar, and one user who had 210 TL charged. 4.0 added an AI module ("Yapay zekalı olan kısmı"). This suggests the company is accelerating monetization, perhaps routing traffic to the web to earn web ads and brand deals, but that makes the product weaker, not stronger.

3. **Search** : On Brave (TR, Turkish), I searched 6 typical pregnancy long-tail queries ("14. hafta kanama", "beta hcg 115", etc.). In the top 20 results, mutluanneleriz.com appeared **not once** . kadinlarkulubu.com, annelertoplandik.com, and hospital sites showed up instead. Search may not be the main source, but Google results weren't verified.

### Growth levers (how its users arrive)

- **Legacy users and installed base** (confirmed): a decade of accumulation, founder claims 4M+ users; many reviews say "reinstalled for the second and third pregnancy."

- **Store search** (confirmed): iOS TR free Medical chart #5, Play TR parenting chart #13, organic rankings on keywords like "hamilelik takibi".

- **In-App → forum internal routing** (inferred, half-confirmed): the App is the forum's main entry point, and the routing changed 2026 years ago, most likely the cause of this site climb.

- **Cross-promotion across its own App portfolio** (confirmed): reviews complain about its own "imsakiye" (Ramadan timetable) and Adım Sayar promotions in the baby photo spot; the official site's top bar links to 4 of its own Apps.

- **Brand events and media** (confirmed, older): Happy Mom Awards (covered by Hürriyet, user voting for best maternity brand of the 2018 year, 27,411 participants); Instagram @happymomapp runs giveaways.

- **TikTok** (weak): the official account @happymomapp has only 2,381 followers and 179 videos; occasional creators or moms recommend it organically (17k–110k views). No large-scale creator campaigns seen.

- **SEO blog** (confirmed as being done, effect unverified): www posts daily, but I didn't see it in Brave long-tail results.

- **Paid acquisition** : nothing is recorded in our ad libraries (metaads / tiktokads cards are empty), so I can't say it isn't running ads.

### Visibility

It's an established local brand (Hürriyet and ekşi sözlük both have entries), but there's no English media coverage, no discussion on X (x-radar: 90 posts in 0 days), and no public revenue figures. AppGazers estimates Android monthly revenue at < $5K. From an opportunity-discovery standpoint, it's **a long-running public product in Turkey that nobody knows globally** , and not worth chasing: the site climb is most likely a measurement-scope change (inferred), not rising demand.

### Copycats

No one is directly copying it. But in 2026 the generic pregnancy utility from Vietnamese developers (lutech.vn team) hit #1 and #5 on the TR parenting chart, squeezing local legacy Apps out of store placements through paid acquisition.

### Differentiation

The real moat is **the Turkish-language pregnancy community** : a Flarum forum grouped by due-date month, 2.4M threads, and years of doctor, hospital, and product word-of-mouth UGC. The tool side (weekly development, kick counting) is no different from Philips or Vietnamese utility Apps. But this differentiation doesn't explain the recent climb: community posting is shrinking, and the ranking rise looks more like an App redesign moving forum traffic from inside the App to the web.

### What to borrow

- "Pregnancy utility App + community grouped by due month": the tool drives acquisition, the community drives retention and UGC, and grouping by due month creates a natural "same cohort" sense of belonging. This combination can last a decade in smaller language markets.

- This case is also a warning: **when judging momentum from Tranco / CrUX, a legacy App moving in-app pages to the web can double a site's ranking in the short term without any real user growth.** When evaluating domains like this, check the App's install and rating growth first, then the speed of UGC production.

- Cautionary tale: stuffing rewarded ads into core content to monetize quickly, and one-star reviews soon outnumber the praise.

### Unknowns

- Whether the forum opens in an embedded WebView, Custom Tab, or the external browser after the 4.0 update is unverified, and it's the key to the entire inference.

- Traffic from Google search is unverified (Similarweb is blocked, and it's invisible on Brave).

- Actual revenue scale from website ads and brand deals, and Happy Kids top-grossing revenue.

- Real combined monthly active users across iOS and Android.
