# How a free Claude IP-scoring page became step one in Chinese anti-ban tutorials

**What it is** A free Chinese IP-checking site that tells you whether your current network will get your Claude account banned, with a score and a row of traffic lights.

**Why it took off** Anthropic's KYC rollout triggered a wave of account bans among mainland users. It was the first detection page named after Claude, and it arrived just as the veteran tool ping0 was accused of faking results. It spread by word of mouth on forums, X and V2EX, and October was picked up as step one by a tutorial video with 189k views.

**C** **How you could follow this** Don't build another Claude checker. For the next platform risk-control event, launch a self-check page named after that platform within the first few days, publish it as one of the affected users in the forums where they gather, and hand the link to the people writing tutorials.

Grade C: the playbook is worth learning, but this site itself has no revenue, copies already abound, and its moat is first-mover advantage and reputation. Copying it or making an English version isn't worth it; the real opportunity comes with the next platform event. Being talked about in small circles

Global rank 239k · 90 days ago 604k

In early April 2026, a longtime forum user, just as the Claude ban wave was starting, used Claude Code to build a web page that scores your exit IP from 0 to 100. Seven months later it has never earned a cent, yet it has become the default link tossed out in Chinese-language "how to use Claude without getting banned" tutorials. Below: what it is, why it's this one, where users come from, why I don't recommend building another, and the one move actually worth copying.

### "First turn everything above green"

In 2026, Oct 19, the YouTube channel 「技术爬爬虾」 (130k subscribers) posted a video: "How to Keep a Claude Subscription Running Stably Long-Term, Principles + Hands-On Tutorial." By Nov 7, it had 189k views. The first line of his X post reads: "First open this Claude checker, ip.net.coffee/claude/. What we're doing is turning everything on it green."

Two weeks later, someone on V2EX posted asking "any V-friends whose Claude hasn't hit KYC and hasn't been banned?" (11-01). The first reply was: "Check first with [ip.net.coffee/claude/](https://ip.net.coffee/claude/)." In another thread, someone used its score as a universal standard: "ip.net.coffee only gives a test IP 69 points."

When a website gets cited by people as the "standard," it's no longer just a tool.

### What it is

Net.Coffee is a free Chinese IP tool site, main domain ip.net.coffee. On the Claude page, it separately checks the exit IPs you use for claude.ai, Cloudflare and domestic sites, gives the Claude exit a "trust score," and lists whether it's a datacenter or residential IP, whether it's flagged as a VPN or proxy, whether the timezone matches, and whether DNS and WebRTC leak your real IP. If you're connecting over IPv6, a yellow warning appears at the top: "Not recommended to access Claude Code over IPv6."

Besides the Claude page, it has GPT / Codex checks, split-routing tests for 35+ websites, in-depth IP scoring, global Ping, a status page for 32 services, an AI news section, and an "IP card" (card.net.coffee) you can put in forum signatures. No registration, no ads, no paywall, and no promotional links for airport or home-broadband IPs on the page.

The author is longtime NodeSeek user xhj003 (NodeSeek is a Chinese forum where VPS and home-broadband enthusiasts gather). In his launch post he said the site was written by "Claude Code and Codex, two teachers working together."

One detail is worth noting: 11-06 opened the page from a US Google Cloud datacenter server and got 83 points, "clean." In other words, the score itself isn't some internal Anthropic standard. It's a score the author assembled from public IP information. Its value lies in being easy to understand, not in being accurate.

### Why this one, and why April 2026

**The demand was created by one platform event.** In April 2026, Anthropic began routing some users through Persona identity verification (KYC), and 7, in August, changed its identity and privacy policies. Account bans among mainland users came in waves. Pro / Max subscriptions cost 20 to 200 US dollars a month, and once an account is banned, the money is gone. "Is my IP clean?" suddenly became a question everyone asked before opening an account.

**It landed in those very first days.** The first version of the Claude IP check page was posted to NodeSeek around April 6, about ten days before Sina Finance reported on Claude KYC (4-17). It was the first detection page named specifically after Claude.

**It translated an invisible set of rules into a score and traffic lights.** The tools commonly used in the circle gave "risk values" and "shared-user counts" that you had to interpret yourself. This one gave a 0–100 score and a row of green and red lights. That's exactly what tutorial makers wanted: something screenshottable, something viewers could follow item by item until everything was green.

**The previous leader happened to get into trouble.** The circle used to default to ping0.cc. In 2026 it was repeatedly accused on NodeSeek of "taking money to alter data" and "secretly reporting real IPs via WebRTC." On X, one user (@InfiCheesy, 5-16) posted directly: "Stop using that garbage Ping0, recommend the IP checker a forum expert built. No ads, objective reviews." In early October a NodeSeek thread was titled "ip.net.coffee is a good IP checker, way better than ping0, which fakes results and treats everyone like fools." The author was himself a familiar face on the forum; no registration, no ads, and records kept only in the local browser, which spoke directly to people's privacy worries.

### Where users come from

No money was spent on user acquisition. It got mentioned in the right places:

| Channel | How it's done | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Self-promotion on NodeSeek | Posting tool threads, posting "actually this is a giveaway thread" to drive engagement, putting links in signatures, and replying in "how to keep Claude from being banned" threads | Launch post in April; from October, people began opening threads recommending it unprompted |
| Reposts by Chinese X accounts | AI and crypto accounts posting "anti-ban magic tools" | @NFTCPS 4-19 "Getting banned using Claude Code all the time? 99% of people don't know this detection tool!" 45.1k views |
| Routine replies on V2EX | When someone asks about avoiding bans, someone tosses the link in | First reply on t/1253466 (11-01) |
| Video tutorials | Big accounts use it as step one | 技术爬爬虾 10-19, 189k YouTube views, synced to Bilibili |
| Search | Titles stuffed with "Claude IP check / IP cleanliness / Claude IP risk lookup," plus a constantly updated AI news section | Ranks first for "Claude IP check" search; how much traffic it accounts for is unknown |

No paid ads found, and no Product Hunt, Hacker News, or English-media coverage.

### How much it grew

In global website rankings, net.coffee sat outside the top 600k in early August, climbed to 232k in September (10), then fell back to 740k in early October, and returned to 239k in November (5) (Tranco ranking). Chrome real-user tiers put it in the global top 100k in September.

The early-October drop is unverified: it could be ranking-data noise, or the site going down (in late August someone on NodeSeek complained it "often fails to detect and times out"). Chrome real-user tiering didn't fall in September, so real usage most likely didn't halve (inference). The mid-October recovery lines up with the timing of the tech video about crawling shrimp, and rankings usually lag by a week or two.

There's also an easy-to-misread detail: Chrome data shows it in Taiwan's top 10k and the top 50k in the US and Japan. That reflects where the proxy exits are, not where users are. The core audience is mainland users behind the firewall (inference).

Other Chinese IP-check sites barely moved over the same period: ping0.cc stayed around #44k (slowly rising), ippure.com held at #163k, and iplark.com slid from #178k to #302k. The only one that climbed sharply over these three months is this one, and its one distinguishing feature is the Claude name attached to it, plus its appearance in anti-ban tutorials.

### Who it's competing with

| Competitors | What it is | Current position (rank 11-05) | How it differs |
|---|---|---|---|
| ping0.cc | Long-established general IP checker | About 44k people | Biggest volume, but no Claude-specific feature, and its reputation has taken hits |
| ippure.com | General purity score | About 163k people | Aimed at cross-border and streaming use, no routing tests |
| ip.skk.moe | Technical tool for routing and multi-exit checks | Whole domain around #26k | No Claude trust score |
| Claude check pages on ipok.io, ipkk.com, ipinfo.cv, and cleanip.io | Surfaced to chase the same demand | ipok.io just entered the top 1M; the others aren't ranked or weren't checked | Late, with no tutorial citations |
| Open-source clones such as exitlens and slynnnn/netcoffee | Appeared from October onward | Dozens of GitHub stars | README states outright "feature port benchmarked against ip.net.coffee" |

From Oct 13 to Nov 5, at least three open-source projects and one linux.do thread ("vibe-coded an IP review site aggregating multiple sources", 73 replies) have been cloning it. The tool itself can be vibe-coded in a week or two, so what remains of its moat is being first, its reputation, and the fact that it has already been written into tutorials, videos, and replies.

### Where the money comes from

Currently no revenue source. Free, no ads, no affiliate commissions.

This crowd is actually willing to pay: they already spend money on residential proxies, static residential IPs, VPSes, and airport subscriptions. In-site recommendations, affiliate commissions, or a paid monitor that warns you "your IP has gone dirty" could all work. But people choose this site precisely because it's "objective and doesn't push products"; ping0 gets criticized because people suspect it's taking money. Whoever first puts promotional links into this kind of tool may be first to lose its trust (inference).

### If it were you

**One-line verdict:** Building another Claude IP checker has essentially no chance; what's worth copying is its playbook, not the site itself.

**Who it suits:** Indie devs already embedded in a community (forums, groups, small X circles) who react fast and can write and ship a tool in a few days.

**Who it doesn't suit:** People who want to make money from this directly, or anyone with no standing in the target audience and nobody who knows them.

**How to do it:** Wait for the next platform risk-control event. Whenever a major platform suddenly tightens its rules (an AI service starts KYC, X or TikTok bans accounts in bulk, a dev tool starts restricting by region), launch within the first few days a self-check page named after that platform, turning invisible rules into a score, a row of traffic lights, and a checklist for getting everything green. In the English world, Claude and ChatGPT risk-check tools are currently just scattered pages like cleanip.io, but English users are mostly in supported regions and have far less ban anxiety, so this may not transfer easily.

**How to get users:** Post as one of "us" in the forums where affected people gather most, not on Product Hunt; reply to "I got banned, what now" threads; build a small widget that can go in signatures and be screenshotted so users promote it for you; then proactively hand the link to the people writing tutorials and making videos, so your page becomes the "first step" in their videos.

**When to be early:** Within one or two weeks of the event. Net.Coffee was ten-odd days ahead of mainstream coverage; the Claude check pages that followed, the best of which has only just squeezed into the global top 650k, are the rest still off the charts.

**What signals you've misjudged:** The platform publishes its rules or ships its own official self-check tool, or the event quickly fades and the ban wave stops. Traffic for this kind of tool depends entirely on anxiety; when the anxiety recedes, the traffic recedes with it.

## Net.Coffee (net.coffee / ip.net.coffee): an IP self-check site for the Chinese "Claude anti-ban" crowd

> Channel: web (Tranco rebound recalled, C1; the only match in the database is the GitHub repo AIFansX/egress-check). Research date 2026-11-07.

### One line

A free IP tool site launched in early April 2026 by xhj003, a long-time user on the NodeSeek forum. Its main feature is **"Claude AI IP check"** (ip.net.coffee/claude/). It gives the exit IP a trust score of 0–100, determines whether it is datacenter, residential, or mobile, and adds split-routing tests, DNS/WebRTC leak checks, deep IP scoring, service status, and AI news. It caught two waves of account-ban panic: Anthropic added KYC in April 2026 and changed its policy again in July. People on the forum, V2EX, and X passed it around, treating it as the default link for "Claude environment self-check." In Oct 19, the tech channel 爬爬虾 (131k YouTube subscribers) published a video with 189k views that taught it as the first step, bringing in another wave.

### 1. What it is

- Site structure: net.coffee's homepage is a navigation hub; the traffic sits on **ip.net.coffee** (every origin CrUX recorded is this one), and card.net.coffee generates embeddable IP signature cards. Tools include IP lookup + 35 + site-by-site routing exits, Claude IP check (0–100 trust score), GPT/Codex IP check, deep IP scoring (home / datacenter, ASN, ports, blacklists, multi-source geolocation), DNS leak, WebRTC, Cloudflare, global ping, status for 32 services, Whois, and AI news (sources: [net.coffee](https://net.coffee) and [ip.net.coffee](https://ip.net.coffee) body text, read via 2026-11-07).

- No sign-up, no ads, no paywall; I saw no affiliate links for airports or home broadband on the pages (I read the external links on the /claude/ page and found only internal ones). **No monetization at present** .

- Web only, no app.

- Author: NodeSeek user xhj003, who says in his launch post that the site was written by "Claude Code and Codex working together." Timeline:
    - About 2026-04-06: a post on NodeSeek titled [Claude IP check tool] was made, post-679056, and is now 404. Around 2026-04-07 they also pushed the site in other threads via their signature (post-678955, "213 days ago": "The site in my signature [ip.net.coffee/claude/](https://ip.net.coffee/claude/) is worth a try, it's built specifically to check Claude").
    - In 2026-04: launch posts for [IP check] and [IP card] went up, with the title saying "this is actually a giveaway post" (post-697721).
    - 2026-04-21: the Published Time on the net.coffee homepage.
    - GPT checks, service status, AI news, Claude routing rule pages and more were added over time.

### 2. Growth data (our traffic database)

| Date | Tranco rank |
|---|---|
| 2026-07-30 | 580,026 |
| 2026-08-06 | 604,391 |
| 2026-08-20 | 359,180 |
| 2026-09-10 | **231,829** (first peak) |
| 2026-09-24 | 345,515 |
| 2026-10-08 | **743,712** (trough) |
| 2026-10-22 | 388,280 |
| 2026-11-05 | **238,681** |

- Most of the "30 days ×2.8" on the card is **a rebound from the early-October low** : it had already hit 230k rank in mid-September. The real trend: a first climb in August, a peak in September, a drop in early October, and a return to September levels in mid-to-late October.

- CrUX (real Chrome users, origin ip.net.coffee): global top 2026-05/06 500k → top 07 100k → top 08 500k → top 09 100k. Taiwan top 05/06 50k → top 07–09 10k; the US and Japan stayed in the top 50k; South Korea top 100k; France top 06 1M → from 07 top 500k; the Philippines newly entered at top 09 500k.

- Note: **the country breakdown shows where the proxy exits are, not where users are** . The core users are mainland Chinese people using circumvention, and their exits land on nodes in Taiwan, Japan and the US, which is why CrUX shows "Taiwan top 10k".

- September CrUX was top 100k, so real usage didn't drop in September. The early-October Tranco trough **may be a data source fluctuation** , or intermittent site outages (NodeSeek post-903227, around late August: "This site has felt broken lately, often can't check, timing out"). Cause not verified.

- Peer sites' Tranco ranks (2026-11-05): ping0.cc 43,562 (still slowly rising, ~69k in September), ippure.com 162,991 (flat), iplark.com 301,540 (fell from 178k in October), ipcheck.ing 350,925, ipok.io 649,940 (just charted). ip.skk.moe sits on skk.moe at about 26k, but that's the whole domain's rank. ipkk.com isn't in the top 1M. **net.coffee is the only one of these Chinese IP-check sites that has risen sharply in nearly 3 months.**

### 3. Where users come from (growth tactics)

1. **NodeSeek self-promotion + word of mouth (confirmed)** . The author posted tool threads on NodeSeek, a forum where VPS and home-broadband players gather, used giveaway threads to build buzz, put links in their signature, and replied in threads like "why doesn't Claude get banned" or "which IP check is accurate". Later others recommended it unprompted: post-967974 (around early October), titled "ip.net.coffee's IP check is good, much stronger than ping0 which fakes results and plays everyone for suckers"; a reply called it "made by a forum expert, rich features, with routing tests"; in post-736060, post-988616 and post-979920 recommendation lists it appeared alongside iplark and ippure.

2. **Caught the traffic from ping0's reputation crisis (confirmed)** . ping0.cc was the community's original default tool, and for 2026 years it was repeatedly accused of "taking money to alter data" (post-722645) and "silently reporting real IPs via WebRTC" (post-674661). On X, @justsosooknow(2026-07-09) relayed the WebRTC backdoor claim and recommended switching to ip.net.coffee. @InfiCheesy(2026-05-16) posted "Stop using garbage Ping0, here's an IP check site made by a forum expert, no ads, objective reviews". On V2EX t/1235867, "ping0.cc alternatives", someone replied with ip.net.coffee.

3. **Chinese-language AI / crypto accounts on X reposting it (confirmed)** . @NFTCPS (Niao Ge) (2026-04-19): "Keep getting banned using Claude Code? 99% of people don't know about this detection tool!" 45.1k views, 231 bookmarks; @0xStudy(05-18) and @FFEE_2025(06-03) also posted it. On Threads, Hong Kong users are using it (@dingyi 2026-04-17, @whypuss_fun).

4. **Big-account video tutorial (confirmed, the main driver of the October rebound)** . The tech channel TechShrimp posted "How to use a Claude subscription stably long-term: a hands-on walkthrough of the principles and practice" on 2026-10-19. It got 188,921 YouTube views (2026-11-07), and was mirrored on Bilibili (BV1EzJf6JE9U, view count not retrieved). The first line of the X caption was "First open this Claude detector, ip.net.coffee/claude/; what we're going to do is turn everything on it as green as possible." Tranco climbed from 10-15 577k back to 11-05 239k, matching the video's publish date (Tranco itself lags 1–2 weeks).

5. **Routine replies on V2EX (confirmed)** . In t/1253466 (2026-11-01), "Any V friends whose Claude hasn't asked for KYC or been banned yet?", the first reply was "first check with [ip.net.coffee/claude/](https://ip.net.coffee/claude/)". In t/1245523 and t/1247942, people also treat its score as a general standard ("ip.net.coffee gives a test IP only 69 points").

6. **SEO / content (partly confirmed)** . Page titles are stuffed with long-tail terms like "Claude IP check / IP purity / Claude IP risk lookup", and it runs an AI news section (already past page 10) and a Claude routing rules page. On Jina / Brave, searching "Claude IP check" ranks it first. How much traffic comes from search is unknown.

7. **GitHub repos cross-linking (small effect)** . AIFansX/egress-check (created 2026-06-05, 108 stars, homepage set to ip.net.coffee, README credits "thanks to ip.net.coffee"). The account has only 1 followers and few stars, so its contribution to traffic is negligible. During recall, this repo was the only match in the database.

8. **Not found** : ad campaigns, media coverage, ProductHunt / HN launches.

### 4. Competitors

| Product | Form | Launched | Scale (Tranco 2026-11-05) | How it differs from net.coffee |
|---|---|---|---|---|

| ipkk.com(/claude-ip-check) | Web | — | Not in the top 1M | Focused solely on IP purity, has a Claude-specific page |
| ipok.io(/t/claude-ip) | Web | 2026 | 649,940 (newly charted) | Compares against a snapshot of Anthropic's supported-regions list, states it is "not Anthropic's internal score" |
| cleanip.io/claude, tokentracker.cc/ip-check, nstbrowser Claude Checker, clis.cc | Web | 2026 | Not checked | English or bilingual Claude environment check pages, appearing alongside the same demand |
| Panmax/claude-check, zzusec/CheckClaude | Open-source CLI / menu bar | From ¥2026-04 | 27 stars / not checked | Local command-line or tray checks, higher barrier than web pages |
| scamalytics / IPQS / browserleaks / whoer | Web page (English) | Very early | 64k / — / 42k / 20k | General fraud score and fingerprint leak detection; Chinese users have to piece it together themselves |
| Big-company features | — | — | — | None. Anthropic does not publish its risk-control standards or offer self-checks |

### 5. Why it took off

1. **Caught a newly emerged, highly anxious demand** : 2026-04 Anthropic rolled out Persona KYC (Sina Finance 2026-04-17, Tencent Cloud developer articles), and 07-08 changed its privacy / identity policies, and account bans hit mainland users in waves. A Pro / Max subscription costs 20–200 USD a month, so a ban is real money lost. "Is my IP clean?" became the must-answer question before everyone opens an account. net.coffee launched its first page **named specifically after Claude** just days before KYC rolled out, the timing nearly coinciding with the start.

2. **Turned vague risk control into a score + traffic light** : "0–100 trust score", "turn everything as green as possible" (in TechShrimp's words). This makes it citable as a step in a tutorial, and more like a checklist than ping0's "risk value / shared-user count". Tutorial authors want exactly this kind of tool they can screenshot and have viewers follow along with.

3. **Caught the trust collapse around ping0** : the original default tool was questioned for faking results and stealing IPs, so the community wanted an alternative that was "written by a forum expert, no ads, objective". The author is on NodeSeek themselves, so the identity is credible; no sign-up, no ads, history stored locally only, which directly answers privacy concerns.

4. **All-in-one** : routing tests, DNS / WebRTC leaks, dedicated Claude / GPT checks and service status all sit in one nav bar, so a single link is enough. The IP card also lets users help promote it through their forum signatures.

5. **October's big-account video** took it from the forum circle to the wider group of ordinary developers who want to use Claude. This is the direct reason Tranco rebounded after mid-October (timing matches; no direct data proves causation).

### VI. Differentiation

- Compared with ping0 / ippure / iplark, it **swapped general "IP purity" for "your exit as seen from Claude's side"** : it separately checks the exits for claude.ai / Anthropic domains, Cloudflare exits, IPv6 warnings, whether routing is effective, and gives a trust score, plus GPT / Codex versions.

- Compared with the wave of Claude-check pages that came later, its advantages are **being first + already becoming the standard link in tutorials** , plus the author's forum identity. The tool itself is not a high barrier.

- This differentiation **is why it took off** : older IP-check sites doing the same thing didn't grow, only the one carrying the Claude name and appearing in anti-ban tutorials did. Still, the tool is easy to copy: exitlens openly says "feature port from ip.net.coffee", and slynnnn/netcoffee says it was "rewritten with reference to the features and layout approach of tool sites like ip.net.coffee"; someone could vibe-code one in 1–2 weeks. The moat is reputation and being repeatedly cited in tutorials.

### 7. How many people saw it / copycats

- Visibility: **spreading within small circles** . It's already well known in the Chinese AI going-global / circumvention communities (several NodeSeek recommendation threads, routine V2EX replies, Chinese-language X accounts, a video with 189k views), but there is no English media coverage and no public revenue (it's free to use in the first place).

- Copycats (already out): misakaikato/exitlens (2026-10-13, self-hosted, README says "ports the features of ip.net.coffee"), slynnnn/netcoffee (2026-10-28, "self-owned IP tool site", recreating its 13 tools one by one), BlackSlience-Reaper/egress-observatory (2026-11-04,47 stars, multi-source IP scoring, issue #44 plans to wire Net.Coffee results in as a data source), linux.do "Vibed up an IP review site that aggregates multiple sources" (floor 2026-11-05,73). There's also a batch of Claude check pages: cleanip.io/claude, ipok.io/t/claude-ip, ipkk.com/claude-ip-check, ipinfo.cv/claude-ai-check, tokentracker.cc/ip-check, nstbrowser.

### 8. What others can learn from it

- **In the days right after a platform's risk-control news breaks, ship a self-check tool named after that platform** (e.g. "X / TikTok / Gemini / Cursor risk-control check"), turning opaque rules into a score + red/green light + fix suggestions, so tutorial writers have something to screenshot and cite.

- **Post as one of "our own" in forums where the target users gather** (giveaway posts, signatures, replies), then let embeddable mini-widgets like signature cards handle the secondary exposure.

- **Watch the reputation crises of established tools** , and push "no ads, no logging, no sign-up" to catch their traffic.

- Monetization is untapped: this crowd has high willingness to pay (residential broadband IPs, static residential, VPS, proxy airports). In-site recommendations or affiliate commissions, and a Pro monitoring tier (alerts when your IP gets dirty) could work, but they risk the "objective" reputation, as ping0 shows. Going English has room too: in the English world, Claude / ChatGPT risk-check tools are still scattered pages like cleanip.io. But English users feel much less anxiety about bans (most are in supported regions), so demand intensity may not transfer.

### IX. Uncertainties

- Why Tranco's October dip to 740k happened (data-source noise or site outage) is unverified; September CrUX puts it in the top 100k, which doesn't support the claim of "real traffic halved".

- Absolute visit numbers, the share of search traffic, and view counts on the Bilibili videos were not retrieved.

- The author's real identity, whether they are AIFansX, and whether they plan to monetize are all unknown.

- Launch dates for most competitors were not verified.
