An AI 3D website whose popularity in the Philippines ranks above Meshy and Tripo: bought, not organic

What it is A web-based AI 3D tool: generates 3D characters from images or text, auto-rigs them, does motion capture from ordinary video, and exports to Blender, Minecraft, or 3D printing, for $15/$45 a month.

Why it took off Mostly paid: Google ads started in February and were ramped up from August, heavily targeting cheap markets like the Philippines, Turkey, and Brazil, plus landing pages in 24 languages, TikTok Latin American gaming creators, and a Halloween creator contest with a prize pool over $10k.

CHow you could follow it Don't build a general-purpose AI 3D platform; use an off-the-shelf 3D API or open-source models and focus on narrow niches like "original character to printed figurine" or "photo to Minecraft/Roblox character," copying its approach to multilingual SEO, showcase pages, and small creator contests.

Grade C: the category has Tripo, which has raised tens of millions, and Meshy, which spends more on ads. V2Fun itself grew through paid acquisition by a funded in-house team, which followers don't have. What's worth learning is its acquisition playbook, not the product. Circulating in small circles

Global rank 192k · 90 days ago, top 1M+

V2Fun (v2fun.ai) is an AI 3D tool in the browser: drop in an image, generate a 3D character, auto-rig it, then film an ordinary video for it to follow. Its global rank climbed from outside 1M to 190k in 90 days, the fastest among its peers. But behind it is a funded research team in Shanghai. Google ads have run since February, it has hired creators and run contests, and it has landing pages in 24 languages. The category already has two big players, Tripo and Meshy, so a small team will find it hard to build another one the same way.

Oct 28, a Spanish-speaking Roblox streamer says "this is how you get a PS5"

In 2026 Oct 28, @soy_pennylee, a Spanish-speaking Roblox streamer with 725k followers on TikTok, posted a video titled "ASÍ PUEDES CONSEGUIR UN PS5" (this is how you can get a PS5), with the caption telling viewers to "check the link in my profile." The link pointed to V2Fun's Halloween creation contest. By early November the video had 12k views.

The contest is simple: the platform gives you a small character named Vtoo plus four reference images from different angles. You dress it up for Halloween, generate a 3D model with V2Fun, and publish it with the event tag. The grand prize is a PS5, a Switch 2, a $1,500 Amazon gift card and a one-year membership. places 4 through 50 also get gift cards, and every entry earns 100 points. The total prize pool is "over $10k." The contest started Oct 15, entries closed on the 31th, and results were announced Nov 12 (event page).

Around the same time, Brazilian Minecraft streamer @retycraftt (130k followers) and Spanish-speaking Roblox streamer @xaurioyt (210k followers) were also promoting the contest. Most of their audience are teenage players, and the hook is "turn the character you designed into a 3D model and put it in the game."

What it is

V2Fun puts the whole 3D character pipeline on one web page: text or image to image → image to 3D → 8K texture → automatic rigging for humanoid characters → motion capture from an ordinary phone video → export to Blender or Minecraft, or export as a file ready for 3D printing. The official TikTok has recently posted demos of this workflow. One is "from screen to shelf," turning an original character into a blind-box figure you can print and paint. Another is "3 hours to make a Little Prince stop-motion."

The company behind it is Shanghai-based Vertex Lab (Chinese name 上海极顶数创). Founder Ji Pan holds a PhD in 3D vision, previously led perception and interaction at Tencent XR, and has published papers at conferences including NeurIPS. The team built its 3D generation models and video motion capture in-house. There is also a Chinese-market version at v2fun.art and a Huawei HarmonyOS app. At Huawei's developer conference in June, Huawei consumer CEO He Gang named it in his keynote as "HarmonyOS's first AI 3D modeling app."

Pricing is a subscription plus credits (pricing page, 11-06):

How it climbed the rankings

DateGlobal traffic rank
2026-09-10About 925k, only recently into the top 1M
2026-10-08About 404k people
2026-11-05About 192k people

As of Nov 5, it was still climbing daily. Based on Chrome real-user data by tier, its global tier was in the top 1M in July and reached the top 100k by September. The most striking market is the Philippines: it reached the top 10k tier in September, while Meshy and Tripo were both only in the top 50k tier there. Indonesia and Vietnam reached the top 50k, Thailand and Turkey the top 100k, and Europe, the US, Brazil, India and Japan the top 500k.

On the same list, Tripo ranks #5,945, Meshy around #17k, and Adobe's free rigging tool Mixamo around #96k. These incumbents barely moved over 90 days. Only V2Fun came from outside the list. By rank, its traffic is roughly one-tenth of Meshy's and one-thirtieth of Tripo's (estimate).

Where users come from: mostly paid

Google Ads. Searching the Google Ads Transparency Center by domain, v2fun.ai has 300 to 400 ad creatives. The advertiser is "Vertex Lab (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd.," and some payments went through agencies. The first ad appeared on 2026-02-26, the same day the web version launched globally. 8, 9 and 10 saw 84, 75 and 59 new creatives respectively, so spending ramped up from August and rankings started climbing in September, which lines up. The sample shows ads in over 40 countries, most heavily France, Italy, Germany, Poland, Brazil, the Philippines, Malaysia and Turkey, plus cheap-traffic markets like Nepal, Kenya, Egypt, Bangladesh and Venezuela.

YouTube. The official channel has 424k subscribers, but most videos get only a few hundred to a few thousand views. Only the "8K texture" video reached 150k. With a gap that large between subscribers and views, and 23 video creatives in its ads, the subscribers are most likely bought through promotion (inference). There are also creator partnership videos labeled "Paid partnership with V2Fun" carrying a Philippines-only promo code, V2FUNPH60.

TikTok creators plus contests. This is the playbook from the opening. The official account @v2fun_official has only 14.9k followers, so its reach mostly comes from Latin American gaming streamers.

Product Hunt. Launched Jul 15, took the day's #1 spot with 641 votes.

SEO page spam. The sitemap covers 24 languages, including Tagalog, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai and Turkish. There are also 900 batch-generated landing pages and 2,000 blog posts, more than half of them comparisons like "V2Fun vs Meshy" or "best AI 3D tools." There are 11.7k user showcase pages, all indexable by search engines. It has also been placed heavily on third-party directories, sponsored articles and Reddit review threads.

It's unclear why the Philippines ranks so high. It could be ad targeting, free-tier image generation attracting freeloaders, or a large existing pool of local 3D freelancers. All three may be true (inference).

Who it's competing with

V2Fun's real difference is putting modeling, rigging, video motion capture and print export on one pipeline. Its brand lead admitted in an interview, though, that "there are many functional similarities among the players." Going by the rankings and ad timeline, the difference mostly gave ads and creators something to pitch ("film a video to make your character move," "put your character in Minecraft"). Paid acquisition drove the growth.

If it were you

C: Don't build a second V2Fun, but its user-acquisition playbook is worth copying. General-purpose AI 3D platforms need in-house models and constant paid spend. The two leaders have raised billions and one runs three times the ad creatives. V2Fun itself has funding and big-company backing, and it only reached about #190k. An indie developer has no advantage here.

Who it suits: small teams that already have an AI generation tool (image, video or 3D) and are stuck on how to reach overseas users, or people who know a youth creator scene well (Minecraft, Roblox, original characters/OCs, figurines).

Who it doesn't suit: people who want to train their own 3D models and go head to head with Tripo and Meshy, people with no budget for paid acquisition who expect word of mouth alone to grow the product, or people who only target high-paying US and European users and don't want multilingual support.

How to do it: skip the model layer and call the Tripo or Meshy API, or the open-source Hunyuan3D, and build only one narrow final step. Examples: "original character to printable figure," taking you from image to a file you can order a print from in one go, or "photo to a character usable in Minecraft / Roblox." V2Fun's own TikTok pushes both directions, so there's demand, but they're only single features among many in V2Fun and haven't been pushed as standalone products (inference).

How to acquire users: copy its approach at a smaller scale. Auto-generate a public, indexable page for every creation. Launch in 5 to 10 languages from day one, starting with cheap markets like Southeast Asia, Turkey and Brazil. Run a small "fixed character, everyone remixes it" contest with prizes in the hundreds of dollars in gift cards plus memberships, not $10k, and get a few gamers with around 100k followers to link to it.

When to move: the window for these narrow niches depends on whether the leaders build them in-house. Meshy and Tripo are both shipping features fast, so aim to launch within six months and validate whether anyone pays.

What would mean you read it wrong: ① After the Nov 12 contest results, V2Fun stops spending and its rank falls back beyond #500k, meaning bought users don't stick and this playbook only sustains the numbers. ② Meshy or Tripo ships one-click figure printing or one-click export of Minecraft characters, and the narrow niche disappears. ③ It publishes payment data showing Philippine and Indonesian paying rates near those in Europe and the US, which would mean cheap markets can be profitable and the general-platform barrier may be lower than it looks.

V2Fun (v2fun.ai): Why it's working

In one line: V2Fun is a browser-based AI 3D creation platform built by Shanghai's Vertex Lab (极顶数创; founder 嵇盼 / Pan Ji, former head of Tencent's XR perception and interaction center). It turns text or images into 3D models, generates 8K textures, auto-rigs humanoids, does video motion capture, and exports animation, all in one pipeline. Subscriptions are Free / Pro $15 / Premium $45, plus credit packs and an enterprise API. Verdict: This didn't grow from a small product's word of mouth. A funded research-driven team bought traffic through several paid channels: Google ads (2026-02 onward, about 300–400 creatives, spread across many regions including a large batch of low-cost emerging markets), YouTube promotion (official channel with 420k subscribers, most videos under a few hundred views), TikTok creators in Latin America (Minecraft / Roblox), a $10k Halloween creator contest, and #1 Product Hunt daily. Add programmatic SEO pages in 24 languages and 11k user showcase pages. The product differentiation (modeling through motion capture in one place) is real, but what pushed the rankings up is mainly this acquisition playbook, not the product alone.

  • Indonesia and Vietnam at top 50k in September; Thailand and Turkey at top 100k; US, UK, Germany, France, Brazil, India, and Japan all at top 500k
  • For comparison: Meshy and Tripo's Philippines buckets were only in the top 50k in 2026-09, while V2Fun's Philippines bucket is higher than both leaders. That usually isn't organic word of mouth. It looks more like targeted paid acquisition or users pulled in by free credits (see §3).
  • 2026-05 is already in the top 500k in the Philippines, Indonesia, Italy, Mexico and Taiwan. That lines up with the web version 2026-02 going global (Tencent News 2026-10-28), so v2fun.ai isn't an old domain changing hands. It's a new product that has been climbing since February.

Among peers, only V2Fun jumped from outside the list into the rankings within 90 days; the others are mostly flat. V2Fun is now roughly on the scale of Tripo's 1/30 and Meshy's 1/10 (rough estimate from rankings, absolute traffic not verified).

Where the traffic lands: mainly the web. There is no iOS or Google Play version overseas. Searching "v2fun" in the iTunes store only returns a social app with the same name from 2022 years ago, developer 璇 廖, which is unrelated. The only app is a native HarmonyOS version listed on Huawei AppGallery (2026-06-13), aimed at China. The China web version is v2fun.art.

Verdict: The category is already crowded. The leaders are Tripo and Meshy, and both are spending heavily on ads. V2Fun was not the first in this space, and it isn't the biggest.

3. Growth tactics: where users come from (ranked by strength of evidence)

  1. Google ads (confirmed): Searched the Google Ads Transparency Center directly by domain v2fun.ai (2026-11-07). 300–400 creatives in total, 311 retrieved.
    • Advertisers: 极顶数创 (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd. 308 ads; also STAR HONOUR DEVELOPMENT LIMITED 2 ads and Connect Profit (Hong Kong) Limited 1 ads.
    • Of 26 sampled, about half are paid directly by the company and half by agency Sinointeractive Digital Marketing Co., Ltd.
    • Formats: 206 text (search ads), 79 images, 23 video (YouTube).
    • Timing: the first creative ran 2026-02-26 (right at the global web launch). By first-impression month, 2026-04 had 15, May 47, June 24, August 84, September 75, and October 59. 7 creatives are still running in the last 91 days. 08–September spending ramped up, which lines up with Tranco's climb starting in September.
    • Regions: the sample shows 40 countries. FR / IT / DE / PL / BR / PT / PH / NL / MY / ES / HU / GR / TR appear most often, plus low-cost traffic markets like Nepal, Kenya, Ethiopia, Egypt, Algeria, Bangladesh, and Venezuela. This explains the simultaneous CrUX rises in Southeast Asia, Turkey, Brazil, and Europe.
    • Our own googleads database did not capture it: it isn't on the adwatch list.
  2. YouTube promotion (likely, indirect evidence): The official channel @V2Fun-official has 424k subscribers and 68 videos, but most get only a few hundred to a few thousand views. A handful reached 2–150k ("Introducing V2Fun 8K Texture" 152k, the "Day 1–5" series 2–50k). Subscriber count far exceeds organic viewing, and the ad library holds 23 video creatives, so the subscribers and those few high-view videos likely came from YouTube promotion. There are also paid creator partnerships, such as Digital Delegator's video (5,875 views, tagged "Paid partnership with V2Fun", promo code V2FUNPH60,7/31, timed to match the PH launch).
  3. TikTok creators + contest (confirmed): A TikHub search for "v2fun" surfaced the official account @v2fun_official (14.9k followers, 65 videos, top video 246k views). Latin American creators also link to the contest: @soy_pennylee (725k followers, "ASÍ PUEDES CONSEGUIR UN PS5", 12k views), @xaurioyt (210k followers, in Spanish, Roblox tag), and @retycraftt (130k followers, Brazil, Minecraft Sonic build). The pitch is teens putting their own characters into Minecraft / Roblox.
    • Halloween "8K Universe" creator contest (10-16 to 10-31): prizes over $10k, including PS5, Switch 2, Amazon gift cards, and memberships; entering earns 100 points. It's a user acquisition and UGC campaign that ran during the October Tranco acceleration.
  4. Product Hunt (confirmed): 2026-07-15 launch, #1 daily and #4 weekly (producthunt database: launch_day_score 641, current score 443,187 comments). The founder posted on LinkedIn: "#1 Product of the Day … 641 upvotes".
  5. SEO and content at scale (confirmed):
    • Sitemap includes 24 language versions (including Tagalog tl, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, Turkish, Malay, Hindi, and more), 912 programmatic SEO pages (sitemap-pseo), 2,110 blog URLs (multilingual), and 11,760 user showcase pages (sitemap-works, indexable UGC).
    • The blog has many comparison posts like "V2Fun vs Meshy / Tripo" and "best AI 3D tools".
    • Off-site paid or semi-paid placements: two ourcodeworld.com articles, listings on directories like aitoolsdirectory, stork.ai, huntifyai, and alternative.tools, a Reddit r/2D3DAI rating thread ("Meshy, Tripo, and V2Fun by Workflow Continuity") that reads like seeding, and a Skool "V2Fun Reddit Review".
    • Yahoo Finance 的「Vertex Lab Demonstrates 3D Modeling Workflow Combining V2Fun and GPT-6 Astra」(2026-09-11)是通稿,36氪英文站同步发。
  6. Domestic endorsement (confirmed, but not an overseas traffic source): At Huawei HDC 2026-06-13 2026, Huawei Consumer BG CEO He Gang announced the launch of V2Fun's native HarmonyOS app, pitched as "the first AI 3D modeling app on HarmonyOS" (Sina, Kechuang, China News Service, InfoQ, Baidu Baike). Tencent News and Pangle also ran interviews (2026-10-28). This mainly brings in domestic users of v2fun.art and the HarmonyOS app. Its help for v2fun.ai's CrUX is limited: HarmonyOS phones don't use Chrome.
  7. Free allowance (inferred, not verified): The free tier gives 200 credits a month, usable for image generation with Nano-Banana-Pro / GPT-Image-2. In the Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam, some users may be treating it as a free image generator. That could partly explain why the Philippines ranks higher than Meshy or Tripo, but there's no direct evidence.

4. Why it took off

  • Steady paid acquisition: Google Ads ran from February through now, ramping up 08–September and working through an agency. Rankings started climbing in September, right after the spend increased, which fits the pattern of Tranco lagging by 1–2 weeks.
  • Wide geographic spread, targeting cheap markets: The ads cover 40 countries, many of them low-CPM markets. Paired with landing pages in 24 languages, Southeast Asia, Turkey, Brazil, and Europe all moved up together. The Philippines reached the top 10K, ahead of Meshy and Tripo.
  • Events and creator outreach for new users: A Halloween contest with a ¥10K prize pool, Latin American Minecraft / Roblox creators, and YouTube promotion were all concentrated in 08–October.
  • Big-platform endorsements that make the story easy to tell: #1 on Product Hunt's daily chart, named in a Huawei HDC keynote, Yahoo and 3636Kr press coverage. Useful for fundraising and selling B2B APIs, but these don't drive anywhere near this much overseas traffic on their own.
  • Team background: The founder holds a PhD in 3D vision and has published at NeurIPS and other venues (Pandora 3D, MARS, LAM 3D). The team builds its own 3D generative models and video motion capture. The product quality supports claims like "8K textures" and "watertight models ready for printing," which helps some of the bought traffic stick around (no retention data, unverified).

5. What's the differentiation, and is it why it broke out?

  • Differentiation: It packages "image generation → image or multi-view to 3D → 8K textures → automatic humanoid rigging → motion capture from ordinary video → animation / export to Blender, Minecraft, or 3D printing" as a single browser pipeline, and it also connects to physical figurine printing (from about ¥100 in China). Meshy and Tripo also offer rigging and motion libraries, but the combination of video motion capture and a full character pipeline is the most fully explained by V2Fun.
  • Is it the cause? Only a secondary one. Competing products are looking more alike (the brand lead in the interview admitted that "there are many similarities in functionality across products"). Looking at the rank curve, ad pacing, and geographic spread, growth is mainly driven by paid ads plus events plus multilingual SEO. Differentiation's role is to give the ads and creators something to show (motion capture, Minecraft characters, 8K textures).

6. How many people can see it

  • Revenue isn't public: neither TrustMRR nor the founder has shared numbers. Our X corpus (x-radar, 120 days) has "v2fun" in 0 posts, and no major X account has written about it.
  • It has some visibility in its niche: #1 on Product Hunt's daily chart, Huawei HDC, domestic tech media and podcasts, and YouTube / TikTok ads.
  • Overall: People in small circles are talking about it. Awareness was bought with money, but nobody knows whether the money is being earned back.

7. Copycats

We haven't seen anyone copying it. Meshy and Tripo, in the same space, got there earlier and are bigger, so this isn't a case of following a trend.

8. What others can borrow

  • "Google Search + YouTube video ads flooding low-cost emerging markets, with landing pages in 20 languages" can push global rankings and CrUX tiers up cheaply. But this approach mostly brings in users from low-value regions, so paid conversion needs to be assessed separately.
  • Turn user work pages into indexable UGC pages (11K pages) and add programmatic comparison pages, and long-tail SEO follows.
  • Run a creator contest for young creators with "fixed characters + physical prizes" (the official side provides Vtoo four-view sheets for people to modify), then bring in Minecraft / Roblox creators with links. This one playbook brings in new users, generates UGC, and produces TikTok material at the same time.
  • A "two-site" structure for going global, typical of Chinese teams (.art plus HarmonyOS in China, .ai overseas), using big-company endorsements to tell the B2B and fundraising story.

9. Still unclear

  • Paid conversion and revenue: no public data at all.
  • Why is the Philippines so high: ad targeting, free image-generation credits, or a local 3D / outsourced creator community? I couldn't tell which.
  • How many of the YouTube 420K subscribers came from promotion: we only see indirect evidence.
  • Funding details: Crunchbase shows a seed round led by Zero to One Partners, with the amount hidden. Unverified.
  • Ad spend: the transparency center doesn't disclose it.
