Class action settlement finder app (helps users find settlements they qualify for and claim them): US store proven at about $1M/year in revenue but crowded; Canada and Australia unverified.
- Status
- Narrowing (US); Canada and Australia unverified
- Why this is written up
- This business is real in the US market (annual profit in the $800k range), but there are already 9+ competitors and the leaders are still selling. New entrants can't get a foothold in the US. Canada and Australia have class action systems, and there are only 2–3 competitors there with a few hundred ratings each, so they may be open. But whether the market size and settlement data sources are public hasn't been verified.
- Confidence
- Medium (high confidence that the US is saturated; low confidence on the open Canada and Australia markets). What would overturn this: Canada and Australia have too few public settlements to support ongoing content, or Payout or Collect has already localized for Canada and Australia.
Evidence
Grouped by store. Each group starts with the charts that can be graphed (real curves, data dates below the chart), then the scanner's original notes and source links.
For-sale listings2 evidence items
- For-sale listings (seller-reported, 2026-11-01 on the market): Acquire q27ozn42ns (US, founded 15 months ago, TTM revenue $1.1M, profit $805k, P&L uploaded, asking $2.8M, 3.5× profit); Flippa 13585912 (US, 18 months old, annual revenue $1.24M, profit $881k, asking $2.65M, no data source connected). The descriptions are almost identical, so it's likely the same app listed in two places.
- For-sale listings (11-02): Acquire q27ozn42ns last month revenue $106,800, TTM profit $804,800, asking $2.8M; Flippa 13585912 monthly revenue $103,000, asking $2.65M (down 10% from $2.95M). Both are still listed, no new changes since 11-02. The For-sale listings §4.6 puts this in "looks hot but not recommended to follow": legal compliance and funding advances are not something a small team can handle.
App Store1 evidence items · 2 products with curves
- App Store (US storefront, 11-02, Finance category Top Grossing chart): Payout: Claim Class Actions (launched 6748968935,2025-08, 11,629 ratings, 4.68★) at #45; Collect - Settlement Finder (6752740187,5,604 ratings) at #36; ClaimHunt (3,140) at #40; MoneyPilot (1,817) at #50; GetPaid at #102; Rightfully at #104; plus newer clones like ClaimNow, TapClaim, and Claim (the last two from Turkish developers). Based on launch months, Payout (launched 2025-08, now 15 months old) looks most like the Acquire listing, but this is an inference.
Other sources (official sites, press releases, web pages) 2 pieces of evidence
- How it makes money (Payout listing): Premium subscription, plus affiliate commissions from recommending credit cards and bank accounts, plus weekly sweepstakes to drive signups. It does not file claims on the user's behalf.
- Outside the US: Collect is #13 on Australia's Finance Top Grossing chart (154 ratings) and #32 in Canada (381 ratings); ClaimHunt is #62 in Canada and #103 in Australia. No competitor has charted in the UK.
Indie product revenue (TrustMRR)1 evidence · 2 products with curves
- Indie: small competitors are all near zero revenue (PayClaim $48, ClaimWell $5, ClassyAction MRR $488).

- Meta Ad Library: this direction isn't on our keyword list, so no ad spend showing here doesn't mean no one is buying ads.
Google Play2 evidence items · 6 products with curves
- Google Play (us, 11-02, Finance top grossing, 200 real charts): The class action app is not the two the report named. At least 7 are charting at once: Collect com.ferrixlabs.collect #22 (207,258 installs, 17,433 rating), MoneyPilot com.moneypilot.bloom #26 (97,182 installs), ClaimHunt com.claimhunt.app #29 (11-01 #30; 101,388 installs, 5,093 rating), Payout com.payout.app #39 (167,075 installs, 11,410 rating, close to iOS's 11,629), TapClaim app.tapclaim #56 (11-01 #58; 11,381 installs, Turkish company EVERCODE), Settle: Class Actions com.compensation.claim #61 (90,917 installs), ClaimHub com.gamepeakltd.payme 11-01 #72 (78,302 installs).
- Google Play (report 11-01): The claim in Google Play New Opportunities §1.5 and Stringers §3.6 that "only two on Play, Payout has no Android version, Play is still empty" only counted apps launched in the last 180 days (ClaimHunt 6-29, TapClaim 7-13). Today's check doesn't hold: Payout, Collect and MoneyPilot all have Android versions and are charting.
Already being built (11-02 backfill)
Google Play also has Settle: Class Actions (Nikanomi) and ClaimHub: Class Action Tracker (GAMEPEAK LIMITED). Payout, Collect, MoneyPilot, ClaimHunt and TapClaim are all live on both platforms.
The hardest step
Settlement data source. In the US, public settlement administrator sites can be aggregated; for Canada and Australia you'd have to compile the data yourself. There's also a compliance risk: it must not look like a law firm or a claims agent.
Who it's for
Not recommended for the US store. Canada and Australia only suit indie devs willing to build the data sources by hand first; monetization comes from subscriptions plus finance affiliates.
Should every product builder know this?
No.
