Collectible valuation / collection portfolio app and resale price data API: subscriptions stick, still climbing. Build it in another category or another store, €5–79/mo

Status
Keep open (PokeItem and SoldComps are still rising; the English-language card scanning and valuation space is already crowded, so the gap has to be found again)
Why now, and how long the window lasts
Collectible prices swing widely (the Pokémon card shortage, see [037]), and players manage their collections like assets; platforms closing data access (eBay sold-listing data) directly created businesses like SoldComps. Unlike the restock alerts, this cell has a high share of subscriptions and MRR and isn't event-driven. The window is measured in quarters.
Confidence
Medium. Revenue is computed by the payment platform, and both are growing; but the English market is already crowded, and "switch language market" is an inference. What would overturn this: PokeItem's November revenue falls below October (meaning the 9–October climb was a Pokémon-shortage wave); or SoldComps' subscriptions drop back below 500.
Evidence
Grouped by store. Each group starts with the charts that can be graphed (real curves, data dates below the chart), then the scanner's original notes and source links.

indie (France, 11-01 core): PokeItem (pokeitem.fr, solo, scans Pokémon and One Piece cards, live valuations, treats your collection like a portfolio; free, €5.99 monthly / €49.99 yearly / €159.99 lifetime). May $2,664 → September $20,385 → October $32,329. 30 days $30,860 (+44.5%), MRR $17,370,2,793 from subscriptions (10-28 is 2,662,4 days +131).
Indie (Canada, 11-01 core): SoldComps (sold-comps.com, eBay sold-price API, one keyword returns up to 200 real sales; free, $9 / 29 / 79 per month) June $1,070 → October $25,759. 30 days $24,532 (+16.7%; 10-28 was +40.7%, growth is slowing), MRR $24,826,572 with subscriptions. The pitch is stated directly: "eBay Finding API strictly limits sold data and is often unavailable".
Indie (US, 11-01 core): small products aren't making money in this cell: FlipScan (iOS, scan to check resale value, $14.99 per month) $800 (+76%), 34 subscriptions, listed at $8,000; figoca (card market research) $737 (−18%); Pulld (digital card pack pricing) $270, listed at $10,000.

App Store (fr, 11-02): PokéItem (launched 6764374425,2026-04-30) fr top grossing #8 (#11-01 #3,10-28 since then, between #3–13), charted in 9 stores, fr 464 ratings.
App Store (all stores, 11-02): the English-language card scanning and valuation space is already crowded: Collectr (1603892248) 69,109 ratings, charted in 93 stores; CollX sports cards (1581164444) 50,345; StarSnap sports cards (launched 6752947519,2025-10) 28,601; Ludex (1616691213) 28,056; HoloDex (6747442689,2025-09 launched) 24,792, 88 stores; FoilSnap (6752642525,2025-09) 14,947; Cardly (6747571942,2025-07) 11,786. The report's claim that "English-language sports cards are an open gap" doesn't hold up today.
App Store (JP, 11-02): The top Japanese-named card apps are about unboxing packs (オリパ): DOPA 38,647 ratings, 日本トレカセンター 30,707, オリパワン 11,228. I did not see valuation or collection-portfolio apps. Inference: the Japanese card-valuation app slot looks empty, but I did not check the web side (Japan has many card price sites).

Data 2026-10-29 → 2026-11-07 (10 days, 10 observations). Google's detail page only refreshes install counts every other day, so a flat day doesn't mean nobody installed.
GP (FR, 11-02): fr.pokeitem.app (2026-08-14 listings), 13,285 installs (10-29 is 12,307), #50 on the FR Productivity Top Grossing chart.
Already doing it
PokeItem (French-speaking, Pokémon and One Piece) and SoldComps (eBay sold-price API). The English-language scanning and valuation apps are a long list (Collectr, CollX, Ludex, StarSnap, HoloDex, FoilSnap, Cardly, Kardo, Spoly, PriceCharting, TCGplayer). I found no standalone new apps combining valuation for LEGO or sneakers in App Store names (I searched names only, not descriptions).
The hardest step
Price data. Sold prices have to be scraped from eBay, Cardmarket, Mercari and others, and platform terms on this are grey. Scan recognition means building your own image library.
Who it's for
People who collect or flip cards and know which ones are worth money, roughly 1–2 people. On the consumer side, €5–10 a month by subscription, targeting non-English markets (German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese). On the data side, sell to flippers and analysts at $9–79 a month, following SoldComps.
Should every product builder know this?
No, it is too niche.

Backfill check: PokeItem 30-day $30,558 → $30,860, subscriptions 2,768 → 2,793, FR category Top Grossing #3 → #8. SoldComps $25,177 → $24,532, growth down from +40.7% to +16.7%. The new check found at least 7 English-language card-scanning valuation apps with over ten thousand ratings (including StarSnap, HoloDex and FoilSnap, which launched in 2025 H2), so the report's 'English-language sports card gap' is struck out. The Japanese valuation category is still empty, pending a check of the web side.
