Local-ops apps for Shopify non-US markets (local accounting, logistics, and parcel locker integrations). Germany pays the most, Poland was just added, and Japan has had no new entrants in a year. $10–50/month
- Status
- Open (live evidence in Germany and Poland; Japan is either an open gap or unobservable, unknown)
- Why now, and how long the window lasts
- No point-in-time event; the window is long-term. Two changes are worth noting: Poland's InPost by Progus launched 2026-06, showing that a third-party app that does better than the official one in a niche can still break in; the next EU regulation (see [064]) will still hit German merchants first.
- Confidence
- Medium (live data in Germany and Poland; Japan is low). What would overturn this: in 30 days of December reviews, InPost by Progus and MAPMIGO growth flatlines; or German local integration apps launched in the next batch all stall at single-digit reviews.

Grouped by store. Each group starts with the charts that can be graphed (real curves, data dates below the chart), then the scanner's original notes and source links.
Shopify App Store 6 pieces of evidence
- Shopify App Store (report figures, by merchant country from sampled reviews): the users of 67 apps are mostly German (17 of them launched in the past year), India 128, UK 54, France 48, Australia 45, Japan 27 (0 new in the past year), Poland 7, Taiwan 3, South Korea 0.
- Shopify App Store (11-02 check): German merchants have a ten-year record of paying for integrations with local software: easyDHL (easydhl, 247APPS) 384 reviews, $24.97–48.94; Lexware Office (lexware-office, Eshop Guide) 285 reviews, BFS, $13–27; sevdesk (Eshop Guide's sevdesk-integration 85 reviews, Appify's sevdesk 49 reviews). The new store locator MAPMIGO (mapmigo, German one-person company Tim Wessels UG, 2026-05-20) has 124 reviews, ≥30 in the last 30 days, BFS, and is completely free; the store locator leader TA MAPPY (dealer-store-locator) has 457 reviews, $9.99–39.99.
- Shopify App Store (11-02 check): Poland's InPost by Progus (inpost-4, PROGUS, 2026-06-15) has 86 reviews, ≥30 in the last 30 days, 5.0★, BFS, $9.99–49.99 (report: only 3% of reviews came in on the day), while the same niche already has the InPost official app (inpost-oficjalna-aplikacja, 24 reviews, 3.2★) and two older third-party apps (58, 52 reviews). Hungary's PickupBird pickup points (pickupbird-pickup-delivery) has 89 reviews, 30 in the last 13 days, $14.99–29.99.
- Shopify App Store (11-02 check): Brazil's Frenet (frenet-7,2020) has 108 reviews, ≥30 in the last 30 days, but the report found it was an email nudging old users to leave reviews (10-22 to 10-29 reviews a day, 2–7 each day, all from users who'd had it for 1–3 years), not growth. Report: across 360 apps matching Brazil Correios / Melhor Envio / Pix / NF-e keywords, 7,577 reviews total, with the largest only a few hundred. Taiwan's Ako Taiwan CVS Pickup Einvoice (taiwan-shipping, 2020) has 155 reviews, $29–49, a clear leader, though 2025-12 has a challenger (shopify-application-483,6 reviews, $14.99–39).
- Shopify App Store (11-02 check): national e-invoicing mandates haven't produced clear winners: Spain's Verifactu App by Finseed (easyverifactu) 12 reviews, Verifactu Pro 1; Greece's Timologio (timologio) 8 reviews, myData Comply 1; Poland's Faktly KSeF (faktly-ksef-invoicing) 1; Mexico's CFDI Express (cfdi-express) 27 reviews, $15–499.99; Italy's Fatture Italia (fatture-italia) 22 reviews, $6–50. The report infers most only cover B2B, and merchants go through accounting software rather than Shopify apps.
- Shopify App Store (reported): 27 apps aimed mainly at Japanese merchants (定期購買 Huckleberry 160, Shipandco 158, All in gift 136, MR.POINT 69), 0 of them newly listed in the past 12 months. Review rates from Japanese merchants are extremely low, so this 0 could be an open gap, or we just can't see the demand.
Already doing it
Germany: Eshop Guide, 247APPS, Appify, MAPMIGO; Poland: PROGUS, Codie, Tale Commerce; Hungary: Digiloop (PickupBird); Brazil: Frenet; Taiwan: Akohub. India's supply far exceeds demand (report: among last year's new winners, India-based developers ranked second with 15); don't enter.
The hardest step
Language and local knowledge: German customer support, local accounting and shipping APIs, Japan's Yamato and Sagawa carriers and convenience-store payments. There's also a low ceiling: the report calculated that Germany's 67 local apps together have 6,721 reviews, about what the single app Loox has by itself, 2/3.
Who it's for
A team of 1–3 people who are native speakers or live long-term in Germany, Central and Eastern Europe, or Japan; $10–50/month subscriptions. For Germany's next local integration (Billbee, JTL, DATEV, Trusted Shops; the report says the apps for these keywords in the store are all old), build the German version first; in Central and Eastern Europe, do parcel lockers / pickup points. Don't measure success in Japan by review count.
