The other side: food / cosmetics ingredient scanner apps (seed oils, additives, ultra-processed, gluten). Top players got there early; new entrants can only take a small share.

My take
The "MAHA / seed oil" demand is real, but Yuka-type leaders have a decade of database work behind them. A new app's only real differentiation is the scanned dimensions (seed oils, cosmetics, baby food, halal). Tallow is climbing fast on GP, but has only 12k installs; similar indie apps are falling. Unless you have unique data (like a local market product catalog) or a unique audience (halal, baby food, a specific allergy), I wouldn't enter.
What would overturn this
A competitor launched in 2026 holds a top-20 spot in US Food & Drink / Health Top Grossing for two weeks.
